Merge mining is more interesting to me than proof of burn because you basically destroy quark and have to start all over and hope the new coin will survive amongst the so many new coins. With a companion coin you still have Quark and get everything what proof of burn would offer and you don't destroy quark this way.
Although i would like the companion coin to be a brand new coin and not an already existing pretty much done coin which Kolin was after in the other Thread.

Now how about giving them the incentive through implementing the game you been working on in the wallet where they can earn quark?
That would be a good idea and I discussed it with Julie some time ago but a) the game still needs to be financed b) the game is Android based We discussed implementing a mobile miner and HashEngineer even said, that it could work without totally draining the battery, but the effect would only be relevant if - say - 1 Mio. people play it and I donīt expect this to happen short-mid term, even if we manage to market it good. To be honest, solution D seems pretty appealing to me because it would allow the community to finally take over. Sometimes it is simply better to start from scratch. To most of us it is no real problem if Quark fails but losing the community we builded up would be a real loss. Yes i just read plan D, seems interesting. This means the coin is going to be PoS since it's not minable right, which means it would have to compete with NXT etc since they both IPO and PoS. Although IPO is not the most liked way of releasing coins, how can we compensate this with Core so it makes it compelling to people? Also what does this mean for quark, does it effect quark negatively or positively? People basically exchange their quark for core right, you guys get quark which serves as a development pot and they get core. This means that there are now 2 coins under core members hand which needs to be cared of. Although how does this solve the quark security? On a side note it would be pretty cool if ShaqFu could be implemented in the wallet : p |

First we need a leader. I say VIC or DI. If neither of those want to step up or think they are stepping on MAX's toes. Then MAX needs to just give them the Okay or get back here and take charge. Every ship needs a captain really, even though this should be a full community effort and if run correctly would certainly be one.
I definitely vote for Vic, he has proven himself to be a dedicated and respectful person. He had a major role in ShaqFu and knows how to steer things, after him i would say quarkfx, a talented, ambitious and also respectful guy. |

Altcoins are dying a slow death. They serve no purpose. Mainstream adoption is all that matters and were having a tough enough time getting average joes to wrap there head around bitcoin.
I don't agree, altcoin has done what Bitcoin hasn't achieved yet. |

Quarks half million dollar game will be distributed to non tech and casual gamers who use pc and console outside the Crypto community which is great for spreading the word for the sake of Crypto. Another wishful thinking. Quark will be used a "one" of the payment options in the game. Less than 10% of the gamers that play diablo have a paypal account. Only a few decided to open one (and we're taking about diablo 3) because of the game. How many will start learning about quark based on this average game? 20, 100? How many people also depends how well it gets promoted and the ShaqFu team seems very open in promoting Quark to its gamers. Also what matters is that Crypto for the first time managed to find it's way through the top gaming scene where new items, updates can be paid with Crypto with much lower fees than paypal/debitcards/creditcards. This also brings gaming and Crypto closer to eachother. It's a nice experiment and we all should get behind it. An example of promotion is making a legit video on how to buy items with Quark and put on Youtube. Or get the well known guy, youtube gaming channels, magazines to talk about it. Or like couple suggested before make a replica of the quark power gauntlet and send a cosplay to gaming conventions, so promotion can also play a rol in this. Now I see an avalanche of ideas released. Why haven't this been done in the last 6 months of freefall since December? Are we waiting for shaq fu like another Jesus? What if this fails? For these ideas i think the game should be introduced first. For the rest is that the guys are active and working on things, but they can't be introduced to the public yet because if they don't deliver it wouldn't be a good thing giving false hopes. I am not part of the dev team btw, but a mod at quarks subreddit. |

Quark has faced tough times lately, however i see many coins like digi, wdc, lots of the last wave of darlings crushed by new pump and dumps. I see no big deal here. QRK will recover long term if you get involved and do something. The issue is investors think they can buy currency and sit on it waiting for it to magically x100 whilst they sleep.
Every alt is pump and dump as some stage of it's cycle. Yes i think you bought in at the peak of it's first major pump, and i hope for your sake you will not sell at the bottom of a dump only to watch another pump or organic rise later. I have done this many times it is a horrible feeling.... just as bad as buying at the top and watching it sink. Worse even watching it go up after selling out at the bottom. You hear the community cheering as the price rises only to sit there dreaming it will crash back down so you can buy in again lower.
I don't see DI did anything wrong, in fact i remember him announcing his intentions on this board before the spike happened. If he had wanted to he could have bought a TON more qrk before telling the board he was going to do.
You can't sell now so hold tight, get involved with QRK bring others in and help grow the community. QRK's main issue is there was no premine or instamine fund for the dev team so they have little incentive to push things forward as fast as other coins. VIC has done amazing things in the back ground for qrk.
I'm accumulating more qrks on dips weekly. It has a dedicated core. I don't like how they are against any changes but still i think the core does think bigger than most communities do.
Bill believed qrk solved some problems btc and ltc had. Bill talked about qrk being a good deal at 200 sats, if you bought in at 30k sats then that was a bad move. Those who bought in before 5k and sold out for double or 3x 4x 5x 6x their investment did well. Some were not satisfied even with that.... i held a ton way too late. 200BTC less in my pocket than i could have had. Everyday people lose and gain more than that though it is part of the game right now.
Crypto is new, chances to make huge money, chances to lose huge money. I have been cautious when i should have been greedy, and greedy when i should have been cautious. It's like sometimes whatever you do it's the wrong move. Then after a while, you can't explain it you just get the hang of it , you get a 6th sense with this trading and you seem to be able to counter the greed and fear and make much better trades. You can spot fud, hype and bullshit.
Will QRK go back to 30k sats? nobody knows. I don't think it will without some changes. However i wouldn't consider selling at this point. If i was holding a ton of qrk i certainly would not start this kind of thread. I would perhaps get involved with the qrk community and see what can be done about getting your investment back in better shape.
Good read, i believe quark has potential and is a good coin. People shouldn't blame others for their own trading mistake, seems like OP gambled with money he couldn't afford to lose. |
