I'm in

I like fantasy football, but I usually lose interest along the line but hopefully that'd not be the case this time since I'm not competing with millions of players. I'll pm fantasy username later today.

I started not to believe that Cristiano Ronaldo will be transferred by any team soon. We are very close to the beginning of the season and there is still no offer for him. If Atletico Madrid really wanted him I think they would make an offer already. The most recent rumour is about a loan move as some people on the forum stated that. But I think the expectation from the team to loan him would be to pay his full salary. I don't know how much eager they would be to pay that insane sum of money.

Given what it would mean to Real Madrid fans and Ronaldo leaving Real as legend, I'd strike out the possibility of an Atletico Madrid for Ronaldo, even if he wishes to join a new club/league, I doubt it is going to be as a player for one of his former teams arch rivals.

Transfer rumours:
Chelsea have beaten off competition from Barcelona to sign Sevilla and France centre-back Jules Kounde and will offer the 23-year-old a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge. So another great deal for Chelsea and another failure for Barcelona.
Barcelona and Netherlands forward Memphis Depay, 28, is likely to turn down a move to Newcastle. Does this mean that Depay will stay in Barcelona after all?
AC Milan have joined Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona in the race to sign 18-year-old Aston Villa and England Under-19 attacking midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka. Chukwuemekai is in high demand, many clubs want him, and what will he decide in the end?
Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/62269121

I think Barcelona should be staying away from the transfer market right now. They have spent a really significant amount of money in this transfer market even though they don't have any money in the bank at all. I am still wondering how they managed to do that.

Even though I agree Barcelona shouldn't be as active as they've been in this transfer window, I'm still of the opinion that if they're are making the appropriate signings then it's going to be worth, I like the idea of Jules Kounde transfer but in order to get him they'll need to match at least Chelsea's 55m bid, and that's in my opinion enormous for Barcelona to afford with needing to sell De Jong and probably Depay as well.
3043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: July 24, 2022, 12:47:17 AM
Manchester City are playing in a friendly match against Bayern Munich in a few minutes.
They should be the favorites but the odds don't show it with Bayern having them.
Don't know if city will be dressing Haaland for this one. But more than likely in the second half just like Liverpool did with Nunez.
Would like to see what the kid can do.

edit: Looks like the match is under a weather delay.

Match is back underway with Manchester City still leading by the goal from Haaland who opened his Man City goals record books already and they would look pretty much like slide/tap in but it was show of how instinctive Haaland can be a striker, knowing the perfect way to make runs and open up the backline with his positioning.

Gabriel Jesus also gave Arsenal the lead vs Chelsea, before Odegaard doubt it for the Gunners, what signing is Jesus proving to be for Arsenal, I know it's just  preseason but that's his 4th goal for Arsenal in 4 matches played so far already.

2016-2017: €119,300m, 2017-2018: €240,00m, 2018-2019: €185,600m, 2019-2020: €40m, 2020-2021: €0m€247.20m, 2021-2022: €118,00m  = €737,900m  (excluding this summer transfer). Bro where did you see the €1b? Grin

Not including Net spending! We had over €400+m from player sales.

Just call it quits bro! Wow!

Where is the €247.20m spent in 2020/2021 Season ?? Or Kai Harvertz 80m, Werner €53m, Chilwell €50m, Ziyech €40m and Mendy €24m were all signed when ? or Chelsea never paid a dime for them?  737,900 + 247,200 =?
I skipped that but Still €985,100m. Where is the €1b? Bro

and mind you Chelsea spent €132m+ not €119.3m in 2016-17: Batshuayi €39m, Kante €35.8m, Luiz €35m, Alonso €23m... you might want to recheck your numbers bro.
Bro stop increasing their prices to suit your €1b transfer agenda, I know what you are trying to do man! Batshuayi €32.2m, Kante €30m, Luiz €34m, Alonso €23m= €119.3m

Man City have also made players sale of over €400+m since Guardiola's arrival, you really need to pay attention to the figures and not just what the media portrays.
Manchester City's current sale is the club's largest since Pep took over. Don't twerk for them; Chelsea has fared better in that regard.

End the drama bro. We are holding the thread hostage.  Grin

You're the one making a mountain out of a molehill bro. It doesn't cost anything to be wrong man! I never said Man City have made better sale than Chelsea, it's you who brought that up as well, then I just had to let you know that Man City are also making from players sales, and I didn't include the current season sale in the figure I mentioned earlier. You're the one making everything up to suit your narrative.

I'm not making up their numbers, I don't need any reason to, and I stated my source earlier you can confirm it, but in your book 985,100 is significantly different from €1b as far as football is concerned. That's about €15m difference right ? and you said Kante cost just €30m right ?

You said I was increasing their value just to suit my €1B narrative, how petty would that have been of me ?...  Lips sealed

This is my last reply on this bro... Have a nice time, see you around and it was a nice convo tbh..

I hope these posts of ours aren't off topic, and apologies to everyone if you all had to read these perhaps, irrelevant back and forth wall of texts...

I really should dead this convo, but you're ignorant ? but concluded I'm wrong ? Lol. Chelsea ban lasted for only one transfer window (summer of 2019) since it was halved by CAS.

Chelsea signings since Guardiola joined City; Please, you do the math.

That's excluding the €94.20m spent so far this season...

man! I'm willing to bet my life that you're wrong about Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City's spending;

I never gave any value about Man City's spending, you did! and to put the doubts over Man Utd's spendings and to put my reply on this matter to rest, here is Man Utd spending since Guardiola's arrival

  • Pogba €105.00m
  • Mkhitaryan €42.00m
  • Bailly €38.00m
  • Lindelof €35.00m
  • Sanchez €34.00m
  • Matic €44.70m
  • Lukaku €84.70m
  • Dalot €22.00m
  • Fred €59.00m
  • Grant €1.70m
  • Maguire €87.00m
  • Fernandes €63.00m
  • Wan-Bissaka €55.00m
  • Daniel James €17.80m
  • Ighalo €12.00m (Loan Fee)
  • van de Beek €39.00m
  • Diallo €21.30m
  • Telles €15.00m
  • Pellistri €8.50m
  • Sancho €85.00m
  • Varane €40.00m
  • Ronaldo €15.00m

The math for this should be easier than that of Chelsea since I included the players and their value... also excluding the over €70m spent so far in this window

Here are the top 6 teams expenditure since Guardiola arrived at Man City.

Chelsea: €132.80m + €260.50m + €208.80m + €45.00m + €247.20m + €118.00 = Over €1 Billion
Man Utd: €185.00m + €198.40m + €82.70m + €234.80m + €83.80m + €140.00m = €924m
Arsenal: €113.00m + €152.85m + €80.15m + €160.80m + €86.00m + €167.42m = €762
Liverpool: €79.90m + €173.65m + €182.20m + €10.40m + €82.65m + €87.00m = €615m
Tottenham: €83.50m + €123.50m + 0 + €148.50m + €110.50m + €95.90m =  €561.9

NB: Excluding the current transfer window.

Only Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham have spent significantly lower than Guardiola's Man City but all 5 clubs have a combined 12 Major trophies, while Guardiola's City alone can boast of 9 Majors.

Man I'm certain you have no idea what you just wrote, man! I'm willing to bet my life that you're wrong about Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City's spending; I don't have time to look at the other clubs. (net spending not included) As previously stated, Manchester City has spent more than €1 billion under Pep.

These are pep spending since he came;

2016-2017: €215m, 2017-2018: €317.50m, 2018-2019: €78.59m, 2019-2020: €159.52m, 2020-2021: €172.30m, 2021-2022: 134.50, 2022-2023: still on. = €1.07b.

Chelsea are no where above €1bn... Haha  Grin + transfer ban. I won't bring other clubs into this now as we are only talking about Pep.

I really should dead this convo, but you're ignorant ? but concluded I'm wrong ? Lol. Chelsea ban lasted for only one transfer window (summer of 2019) since it was halved by CAS.

Chelsea signings since Guardiola joined City; Please, you do the math.

  • Pulisic
  • Higuan (Loan Fee)
  • Morata
  • Bakayoko
  • Drinkwater
  • Rudiger
  • Zapacosta
  • Emerson
  • Giroud
  • Barkley
  • Ampadu
  • Batshuayi
  • Kante
  • Luiz
  • Marcos Alonso

That's excluding the €94.20m spent so far this season...

.....

....You said defense wins you trophy innit ??  since Simeone could build a great defensive line but still spends as much as other big clubs does on strikers alone should indicate what offense also means to the team.

I guess it's pointless prolonging this convo any further, I've clearly as day made my points politely but, to each its own. ✌️
3048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If There's No Casino Signature Will The Gambling Board Still Be The Same on: July 23, 2022, 11:51:57 AM
If you're promoting a casino-based campaign you need to post at least 5 to 10 posts in the gambling section Currently there are  1136622 Posts and  5903 Topics in the gambling discussion alone the gambling announcement not included making it the most active board here in Bitcointalk.

If There are No Casino Signature campaigns Anymore Will The Gambling Board Still Be The Same will we have the same stats as we are seeing right now

If there are no casino signature campaigns, the Gambling Board will definitely not be the same and will look somewhat deserted, but I believe I've interacted with quite a number of users in this board that have genuine interest in these sports and gambling at large, with the signature campaigns rather just being an incentive for what they'd do regardless of the inexistence of signature campaign, perhaps elsewhere, maybe on Twitter or some other social media platforms, there are users who have these discussions about sports often off this forum, with friends and on social media where there are no incentives other than just being fan of a team or sports and gambling in general, if you log on to Twitter and Facebook, you'll definitely find people who get zero incentives but still go about sport banters and discussions on a daily, the only difference why do there freely when you could get paid for it here.
3049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: July 23, 2022, 11:01:45 AM
he realizes that attacks only win games and defenses win trophies.

If this analogy is true, then Guardiola should be one of the top managers with the least trophies, while Simeone should have at least 2 Uefa Champions League trophies.

Attacking is more often than not the best way to defend.

It doesn't change the fact that he has spent over €1 billion on transfers since joining Manchester City,

I beg to disagree because your analogy is still either bias or it is just flawed;

Claudio Bravo (€18m), Ederson Moraes (€40m)

Bravo and Ederson aren't outfield players and basically every coach needs a Goalkeeper right ? and How many Goalkeeper has Chelsea gotten since Guardiola joined Man City ? Kepa (€80.00m) Mendy (€24.00m), Liverpool ? Karius and Alisson were significantly cheaper.

He doesn't know when to switch to a more defensive game, which has been a problem for him since his time at Bayarn. Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012 and 2020 because they were the most defensively compact team.

Firstly, Guardiola wasn't at City in 2012, while in 20/21 Chelsea finished 4th in the league scoring and conceding 58:36 respectively, while City finished 1st position scoring 83 goals scored and 32 conceded, you could argue Tuchel didn't start the 20/21 season with Chelsea but his first full season at Chelsea, they more attacking minded scoring 76 and conceded just 33 goals.

This is Manchester City's defensive business under Pep;
John Stones (€55.6m) Aymeric Laporte (€65m) Benjamin Mendy (€57.5m) Kyle Walker (€52.7m) Danilo (€30m)Joao Cancelo (€65m) Rodri (€62.7m)Ruben Dias (€68m) Nathan AKe (€45.3m) = €556m.

Of all the listed players above, most people would agree with me that only perhaps John Stones, Dias, Laporte and Nathan Ake were purchased for their defensive capabilities innit ? Walker, Mendy, Danilo, Cancelo were literally just attacking reinforcements and were purchased for their attacking abilities rather than what they can offer defensively.

Simone does not spend money on defense.

However, Simeone has spent €426m on Strikers alone since Guardiola's arrival at Man City, why Huh

If my analogy is wrong why do you think Pep and Klopp are spending more on the defensive department?

Spending more on the most vulnerable part of your system is not the same thing as spending more specifically on your defense, Man City and Liverpool have arguably the best attack in the premier league over the last 5 seasons, and still Man City didn't spend a dime on defense last season, but spent over €130m on strikers, and Klopp despite his team's attacking prowess, over the last 3 seasons have spent almost 3 times more strikers than defense.

My point at the end of the day is; if a team plays 0-0 all through a calendar season, the only record they'd have is defensive team of the year, while they'd be at the top 5 bottom of the table, that's if they don't even get relegated, however, if a team wins 5-4 every single game of the season, they'd end up with worse goal conceding record but would have won every trophy.

Logically, to not lose a game you need not to concede any goal, but to stand a chance of winning a game you need to score at least a goal, i.e Outscoring your opponent is what wins you a game and trophies not defense...

5 more people for 0.3 in the pot now.
Last season I missed few weeks but still managed to get 11th spot. Not sure if I will be able to continue with all rounds but who cares. It's the prestige and fun that counts. Add me to the list hilariousandco. I will send the payment before the season starts.

I'm sure those missed weeks last season would have sure got you some points regardless of how little it could have mattered.

So, why not put in your picks for the entire season all at once maybe over the next few days, I think they'd even be carried over automatically when you join the pool so it doesn't matter if put them in before or after joining the pool, then you can adjust the picks as you deem fit as the season progresses.

Liverpool to win the season title this year?

Guardiola is still in charge at Man City you reckon ?  Tongue

Leaving What Mane has won also let's not forget a female also got to win an award.
The Barcelona attacker won the CAF Player of the year Oshoala of Nigeria.
She has been outstanding no cap, she gives it her best every year.

It was another well deserved accolade, this was her fifth time of win the award, she had an amazing season with Barcelona and despite some injury troubles, she scored 24 goals from 28 appearances, that's not short of world class!

Congratulations to Mane too, he had arguably a better season than Salah, especially with his National side heroics.

Bundesliga is not the same platform, it will be the only one on another site. They used that one in the past and didn't wanted to change. That is probably the only one I may skip. Mostly because of platform.

I'll be joining the Bundesliga pool, and that's for the sake of it being run on another platform, I'd like to see how it would work perhaps, it could be a worth replacement for SuperBRU which I get we all are accustomed too, but sometimes there's always something new, perhaps better out there you just have to find them and give them a trial (I'm not talking about our wives or women here).

I'm definitely going to have my weekends really hectic with these pools next season, I'll probably take a day or two to put in all my picks for the entire season, then change as I dim fit as the game week approaches and team forms begin to set in, at least that way I'll be sure I won't be missing any pick due have a long Friday or some shitty network weekends.

.You also forgot Championship League pool which will be big according to the info I got unofficially, so let's wait and see.

England 2nd division ? or UCL ?

Dani Alves, a former fullback for Barcelona, will continue his playing career in Mexico by joining Pumas.
Alves returned to Barcelona last year and played 14 LaLiga games for Xavi's team after joining the club in January. Alves is currently returning to North America to join Pumas of Liga MX. On Thursday, Pumas teased the signing on their official Twitter account.

Well i didnt expect Dani Alves to stay for such a little time in Barcelona. I dont know why Barcelona even signed him again it was just a waste of money and now he moves to Mexico to play football and most of us never heard about this club before

Dani Alves only came to help out the club in times of trouble despite treating him like before leaving the first time, he came to the club to help as player and backroom staff for Xavi, and he did pretty well if you ask me in the games he played and was not convinced that the current Barcelona board are any different from the old one when it comes to players the feel aren't needed any more regardless of how influential they were during their prime for the club, which is often why I'm very happy that Messi left as a legend.

Germany vs Austria in the women's Euro 2022 quarterfinal at Brentford Community Stadium.

Germany has a flawless competition record so far, winning all four games without giving up a goal. At the MK Stadium on Wednesday, they will play either France or the Netherlands in the semifinals. Austria played well, but ultimately failed to repeat their semi-final performance from the previous year.
Germany defeated Austria 2-0 to get to the semifinals. After Zinsberger's shoddy clearance allowed Germany to get in, Magull break the deadlock. Throughout the course of the game, both teams had a number of excellent chances, and five of them three by Austria and two by Germany hit the crossbar. Popp scored a goal at the end of the game. FT:  Germany 2-0 Austria.
The goal from Alexandra Popp was the fault from the Austria goalkeeper and luck for germany that ball was going into the goal.
Austria played very well the first halftime and germany was lucky that the not getting on goal behind , also the goal for germany was played very nice too.
It was a nice game to watch even when germany got some problems with Austria a few times.

I guess the Germans wouldn't care the goal came about, they've advance to the semifinals where they'll face the winner from Netherlands vs France and that's great for them and could be their biggest test yet although they've played Spain which they one and that proves the quality of the squad, The fact that they're still yet to concede a goal after 4 games played is also worth commending. We've got another Quarter final game between Sweden and Belgium, Sweden are the favorites but they still struggle in some games so it might a close affair as opposing to what the odds suggest.

Dynamo Kyiv - Fenerbhche game ended without goals. Fener had way more chances, but Dynamo goalkeeper Buschan was MOTM. Dynamo should be happy that they didn't conceded, but on 2nd leg in Istanbul life will be difficult for them.
Maccabi Haifa managed to make score 1:1 against Olympiacos in final minutes. And the way they did it, goal was really beautiful, check it out:

Of course I did Wink And strangely enough not even on one of my regular bookies but on a fiat one, was out on a different device when I plomped it down.

Told you guys, these games simply not worth betting on 2/1 or thereabouts markets, even to get wins + BTTS get you maybe 4/1? And we know teams prefer drawing these games now.

I've got money on all 3 underdogs in Conference today as well, but that's for another topic Wink

Sparta Prague with more experience failing to win against Viking and Motherwell losing at home pretty much summed up my bet slip for today, the other slip on which I had some teams Over 1.5 goals was another 5 dollar bill thrown in to the trash can, Sparta Prague and Young Boys are pretty much the last teams I couldn't have expected loads of goals from today, but neither was able to come through Lips sealed

Participation fees started coming in, not so many so far but it still early days. Hell I haven't paid yet so that is at least one more participant I am 100% sure will be in Smiley

~snip

thanks for reminder, I will do it tonight for both pools, sending you DM later on

looking at friendly, Valencia is playing really solid football, maybe this season will be a breakthrough into top4
just checked Superbru for F1, and La Liga is not even there yet, I hope that we will reach 20 participants this season, have three more weeks for that

Looks like pool would be more like a full time weekends jobs for me this season, as they're tons of it, and it should be all really interesting. All things be equal, I should be to join all by this weekend.

I strongly doubt Morvillz7z would join la liga pool, as it doesn't find much interest in it, same with me tbh, I'm always joining because I'll always follow the league as a Barcelona fan, but the lower teams fixture really doesn't provide much interest like those of Serie A, because I'd literally rather watch a match like Sassuolo vs Empoli, than watch Sevilla vs Cΰdiz or a match like Getafe vs Espanyol.

It has been on the news that Real Madrid have no interest in signing Ronaldo. It is not a surprising situation actually because they didn't have any plans for bringing back Ronaldo in the near future. They already have Benzema and his performance was incredible last season. In these circumstances it isn't sensible for them to sign Ronaldo also. Let's say they did such thing then Benzema would stay behind him again like in the old times. This would decrease his productivity much more compared to before.

Why would Real Madrid consider signing Ronaldo again, He's chapter with the Los Blancos is an already closed one,  I think the media is making more of Ronaldo's desperation to seek champions league football than it really is, I understand Ronaldo's zeal to always play at the biggest level possible and wouldn't want to settle for less but I prefer he stays with Man Utd and conditions himself perfectly for the World Cup which likely is going to be his last dance at the tournament.

Still open?

I'd supposed so, provided you didn't participate in the first round.. The team are working on making the casino as user friendly as possible hence the reason for opening another round of review for users that didn't participate in the first round. Thread would have been locked if it weren't or at least it would have been stated.
