Feathercoin is a complete Litecoin clone and started with extremely low difficulty and 3 million were mined on the first day. Didn't stop it being successful. You use terms like pump and dump when Feathercoin came out, it's worth 50 cents now, why isn't it being dumped?

Don't know about Chinacoin but that seems similar too.

Lol.. you can't call a coin successful after 2 weeks of its inception. Get back to me in 2 years when Feathercoin/Chinacoin is worthless.

Probably the dumpers are waiting to fleece you noobs for more money? If you guys keep buying up the price, they make more money when they dump.  Smiley
3042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBar New POW-POS scrypt CryptoCoin on: May 04, 2013, 02:48:32 PM
Don't be a fool - those guys are fully aware of what they are doing and what is the deal about.

I like to think they are new and inexperienced. However, if that is not the case... they are scumbags for sure.

I guess time will tell, the ones that keep talking up every new crap coin.. it will be obvious to tell who knows what they're doing sooner or later.
3043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBar New POW-POS scrypt CryptoCoin on: May 04, 2013, 02:41:05 PM
You are attempting to justify BTB unfair launch with "others did it as well" but you are continually failing to realise you and few others here are actualy major supporters of the scam.

If I'm moderator here, any threads about altcoins launched the same way as all newer altcoins and all people like you would be banned permanently.

I know right..

Most of these new guys don't realize they are partaking in pump and dump scams by talking up all these copy cat coins and convincing people to buy them. "It's a free market!" Lol- You and I have been around long enough to know that 9/10 of these coins will be worthless in a year. I feel sorry for anyone who dumps a large portion of their life savings into all these new scam coins.

3044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBar New POW-POS scrypt CryptoCoin on: May 04, 2013, 02:37:57 PM
I agree, I don't see what the big whoop is. This coin is hardly innovative- if you can call it that.

I'm still waiting on an actual improvement to the currencies we already have- all these new coins are copy cats or pump and dumps.

When something truly innovative comes out, I will throw my full support behind it, but this is not it.
3045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CNC listed on bter.com! on: May 04, 2013, 02:29:15 PM
Someone's upset they missed the boat.

Lol.. everyone keeps saying that as a retort for all the copy cat coins...

"Someone's mad the missed the boat."
"You're jelly."
Etc.

Some people don't collect crap coins, because they will most likely be worthless in 3 months time. A lot of you noobs are going to learn a hard lesson when 7/8 of the new copy cat coins will be worthless in a year. If I'm wrong- I'm wrong, and maybe I did "miss the boat", but I'm certainly not going to be mad about it.

Diversification of one's portfolio is a good thing, however there becomes a point where just because you can invest in chocolate covered shit, it doesn't mean that it's a good investment.

I prefer to invest in currencies I know will stand the test of time and be a valuable store of what little wealth I have.

Lol, 20 Bitbars for 9.2 BTC??

Man... I need to make my own ALT chain...
3048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NOTROLL.IN admin overnight withdrew 25% of our coins from our balances ! on: May 03, 2013, 11:32:57 PM
I've been reserving judgment on this because I thought Nickasa would make things right.

I guess I was wrong. What a scumbag scammer. I guess 5% of 45% of the entire LTC network wasnt enough for him.
3049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secondard Altcoin Investment Advice on: May 03, 2013, 11:09:07 PM
I agree, I like dev coin, however I don't really see merge mined coins as "ALT coins" since their networks are tied to Bitcoin.

I see them as part of Bitcoin.. Bitcoin mining freebies.

That should definitely be a consideration, however Dev coin has been around for a while and it hasn't really gained traction yet, I'm not sure if it ever will. It would be wonderful to see it used for its original intended purpose.
3050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secondard Altcoin Investment Advice on: May 03, 2013, 10:40:48 PM
You should invest in the coin that all the new coins are copying off of because it is so succesful and awesome... Litecoin.

Anyone that tells you any different is wrong.

PS: I own <200 LTCs

I think he already invested in LTC, i see an address in his sig.

At the moment I only have Bitcoins
3051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] RuCoin - Russian alternate cryptocurrency - exchange is up already! on: May 03, 2013, 10:39:39 PM
anyone have a basic table comparing coins and their advantages disadvantages, invention date, creator etc.

I know there's a mining profitability calculator here:

3053  Economy / Auctions / Re: 63.1265 BTC share of CoinHoarder's Avalon Batch 3 Group Buy (3 day auction!) on: May 03, 2013, 10:20:22 PM
All winners that have paid, I will be getting in contact with you most likely Sunday via PM to explain things a little more. I have plans tonight and a wedding out of town tomorrow. There is really no rush on this, the Avalons won't be here for at least another couple-few weeks.

Thanks!
3054  Economy / Auctions / Re: 63.1265 BTC share of CoinHoarder's Avalon Batch 3 Group Buy (3 day auction!) on: May 03, 2013, 10:18:18 PM
Hey, Just saw this post a bit too late.  Would have loved to throw in a bid for half of the shares.  Do you intend to take on more more at any point or do you recommend another group if you are not currently adding anymore?

thanks!
-JC

Maybe in the future. Honeslty I'm dealing with more investors than I originally intended/wanted to at the moment.

Perhaps after I get the Avalons in and streamline dividend payments and share transfers (we're probably going to go on an exchange), then I might look to expand a little bit. But for now I am content with the amount of hardware that we already have on the way.

Thanks for your interest.
3055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: That's it, I've lost hope in the future of crypto currencies... on: May 03, 2013, 07:28:54 PM
Ymer, don't let these guys change your opinon. I completely agree with you and there are a lot of others that feel the same way.. Alt coins have gone to shit with all these new guys just in it for the quick cash.

The previous posters wont admit it but Litecoin was an improvement from Bitcoin. The new coins are just blatant rip offs from Litecoins improvements and success.

LP is broken, it seems only stratum is working.
3058  Economy / Auctions / Re: 63.1265 BTC share of CoinHoarder's Avalon Batch 3 Group Buy (3 day auction!) on: May 03, 2013, 05:14:27 AM
eh.. still awake.

SEE ABOVE FOR PAYMENT INFO. THIS INFORMATION IS ASSUMING YOU'VE ALREADY PAID.

This is just a bunch of accounting mumbo jumbo, sorry for the wall of text, but I thought I should explain it to you guys.

As per the OP, we auctioned off:
Cycloid's ownership: 63.1265 BTC
Cycloid's ownership percentage: ~ 8.73478368%
Cycloid's portion of hash speed: ~ 51.971 Gh

The 51.971 Gh is split like this between the winners:
josh4580           10 Gh
drlatino999        10 Gh
skidelo              20 Gh
yolo                    5 Gh
Ajay             1.971 Gh
Superduh            5 Gh

I do my books in BTC, that is how we've done it all along, but we made the auction in Gh so people can see what they are buying easily. From now on, each share you own will be now be converted to an amount of BTC. This is only so that I can put you in my ownership spreadsheet, which is calculated by the original amount of BTC each investor invested.

The formula I used to determine your share amounts is simple cross multiplication: (Gh Won in Auction) x (Cycloid's original investment) / (Cycloid's total hash speed) = (Your amount of shares in the group buy in BTC)

So... assuming you payed, you now own the following shares in the group buy:
josh4580             12.1464855400127             +partialsatoshi=    12.14648555 BTC
drlatino999          12.1464855400127              +partialsatoshi=   12.14648555 BTC
skidelo                 24.2929710800254             +partialsatoshi=   24.29297109 BTC
yolo                      6.07324277000635            +partialsatoshi=    6.07324278 BTC
Ajay                      2.394072299936503          +partialsatoshi=    2.39407230 BTC
Superduh              6.07324277000635            +partialsatoshi=    6.07324278 BTC
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                 Total: 63.1265 BTC              Total +partialsatoshis=    63.12650006

I am going to give you each a partial satoshi from my shares to make the numbers add up to a real Bitcoin amount. (because they are only divisible by to 0.00000001)  Smiley

I haven't messed up calculating any share transfers yet, but I must say that this was the hardest one so far because usually we do these in BTC not Gh, so please look over my work before we make these numbers final. If you have any questions let me know. Grin

Thanks,

Ch

I will get in touch with all the winners soon after Cycloid receives your payment.

That's gonna have to wait until tomorrow though.. it is getting late here.

Thanks!
