The other day is saw him drilling Danish Kaneria for the comments he made. I am not too inclined on what he is doing in his private life and now with his entry into politics you will hear more absurd things from him and it is better not to discuss these things here  . Right now he is just trying to be part of ruling party in Pakistan but no one has yet accepted him or given him an option to join there party. Sports and politics are two different thing and you need to be very strong if you want to be a successful politician. Afridi should focus on cricket and no need to get involved in politics. I guess he might be doing the right thing by trying become a part of the present government of Pakistan. By being part of the ruling elite he will have access to vast resources that can majorly help PCB. PCB needs money and infrastructure to bring back the old glory of Pakistan cricket someone who has been cricketer and not a follower of ex priminister can make a difference. Being a supporter of Imran Khan will not help him in creating his own identity as it will be shadowed by Imran Khan himself. |

Can you explain what this double wicket tournament is all about, i was not able to find any article regarding this. I really liked the T20 version, if not i doubt i would be watching Cricket as i considered it as a long format to have the patience to watch the matches earlier but the introduction of T20 and the advent of cryptocurrency based gambling sites helped in learning the game. I am not a fan of T10 because it is hard to predict, even T20 is hard to predict and hence i doubt i will be watching anything that is shorter than T20.
I can give you some explanation about this because I personally involved in this for many years and enjoy too much this is mostly played in streets, and sometimes we have tournaments in big grounds it's all like we have Super Sixes in Hong Kong but here just two batsmen allowed for batting throughout format like four overs or six overs and every time you lost your wicket -10 or -5 cut from your scorecard. But, you're allowed to play all your overs after this they calculate and if you are in plus then this set as target for other team and if you are in minus then still you are in match because you are also have chance for bowled out other teams in minus this was very interesting time but now recently due to some domestic issues mostly peoples forget about this format and replaced by these T5 and T10 which are still very popular. I am also hearing about it for the first time. I have played different type/format of street cricket but I have never heard about it or played it. How many players are allowed in each team considering only two players are allowed to bat. I assume each team will have a minimum of two players and they can also bowl. Then how many fielders and does it have a wicket keeper? |

Being a supporter of Chennai Super Kings tried to find possible chances of getting into the playoff after a big win against Delhi Capitals. It looks funny, but any form of changes can happen with T20 format cricket.
MI vs KKR - Any team can win
LSG vs GT - Any team can win
RR vs DC - RR needs to beat DC
CSK vs MI - CSK must beat MI
PBKS vs RCB - PBKS needs to beat RCB
KKR vs SRH - KKR needs to beat SRH
CSK vs GT - CSK must beat GT
LSG vs RR - Any team can win
DC vs PBKS - DC needs to beat PBKS
MI vs SRH - MI needs to beat SRH
LSG beat KKR - Any team can win
GT vs RCB - GT needs to beat RCB
CSK vs RR - CSK must beat RR

If the outcome of the above matches come as this, there is chance for CSK to enter playoff based on the net run rate which is another big task.
CSK and MI need to do something incredible in order for them to qualify for the playoffs. Everyone knows LSG and GT will easily qualify and for the next two positions in the playoffs 8 teams will be battling with each other. In my opinion RR should be the third team and the fourth would be either SRH or DC. I do not think CSK has nay chance in this season and the same goes for MI. |

I'm reading too much comment here about Shahid Afridi and i would like to remind that he's the same guy who used to beat the shit out of his girls because he found them playing cricket and imitating hindi tv serial. Really shocked to hear this about Shahid Afridi? Did he really beat up his girls just because they watched TV? What sort of lunatic would do something like that? I liked him for his power hitting and funny behavior.. but this was something completely unexpected. We are living in the 21st century and such behavior has no place in modern human society. Being a female I am profoundly offended by this behavior. Forget about the PCB, this guy should not be allowed even to contest as the president of the local cricket club. Watched couple of interviews where in one of em he was clearly saying that girls shouldn't play cricket at all and he stopped his girls from playing cricket or any outdoor game in public (By giving them chaped -thappad) in private they can play and regarding Hindi tv serial, he apparently got angry because his girls imitating hindu traditions like people do in diwali, holi and starting saying Namaste etc. --- He also mentioned this in his Book - His girls are not allowed to play cricket or any game in public- I remember he got trolled on social media for his male chauvinistic approach. The two new teams are really strong and they are able to field a winning combination in their first tournament which is really great. I never expected a turnaround like this as i expected them to take a long time to play together as a team but surprisingly they are the best teams in the tournament with a well balanced team and they can win the tournament with the way they are playing.
It is surprising. Two new teams are on the top of the table, and the irony is that the teams that are considered as heavyweights are all outside the top-4. Look at teams such as Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. These teams have won the championship the most number of times, and now they are languishing at the bottom of the points table. In case of Mumbai, it has been a horrendous season so far. They won two of their matches lately, but before that lost 8 matches consecutively. These two new teams have a majority of new players who are eager to prove themselves. CSK, MI and KKR are full of established players and old players too. KL Rahul has previously failed as a captain and in this season he has proven that he can handle captainship very well. Hardik Pandya has also show that he can handle captainship without jeopardizing his performance. It all about getting attention of the selectors and being ready for the next role. |

Well.. I am glad that Mumbai finally managed to win one match. Now they have two wins from 10 matches, and the good thing is that they have won all two of their last matches. Along with CSK and KKR, they don't have any chance of qualifying to the next stage. But whatever they get in the next 4 matches will be useful for planning a strategy for the 2023 IPL season. Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma made 40s, and this time batted with confidence. Tim David also scored a 44, which included 4 sixes. Bowling is still a worry for them, as Bumrah went for 48 runs without a wicket in his 4 overs.
Does not matter anymore with just one win they are not going to reach anywhere. This season was the worst in terms of performance by the MI. They invested heavily in a single player rather than investing in multiple players. That is why you need to diversify your portfolio. I am not sure whether they will retain Ishan Kishan and a few other players for the next season of IPL. Right now the fight is for the fourth position in the ranking table. PBKS players with RR today and this match might determine the fate of PBKS. |

I'm also not a big fan of T-10 in international arena but at the same time T-10 types of tournaments are ridiculously famous in Gully/local cricket. I'm sure 99% of fans grew up playing such type of 10-12-15 overs matches, i know i did.
So may be T-10 doesn't have any place right now but i do see some space for this format in future.
We even used to play T5 when we were child with some interesting rules like anyone who miss two deliveries will be out. In countries like Pakistan, India and Bangladesh kids used to play such shorter format until they grow up to club level. T10 or less is popular among Gully cricket there are rear chances it will make it to international level. Never played T5 in my childhood but I remember a few interesting rules wherein one tip one hand catch was a rule and no sixes but only fours will be counted. Those rules were created as we played street cricket and we never wanted neighbors coming out and banning our cricket match because we shattered their windows. I still miss those days. I do not think T10 will get as hype as T20 got because T10 is too short as a cricket format. A batsmen's main aim here is to just hit the boundary and there is nothing left for bowlers to prove in this format. |

It's not only in India, the whole south Asia media is getting out of control. The primary reason is that these media houses have joined political parties and when there party came into power they do such dirty tactics. Shahid Afridi who was big supporter of Imran Khan is now criticising Imran Khan to get some benefits from new government.
Not much surprised regarding Shahid Afridi's behavior. He will make up a good politician in the future, as he seems to be an expert in all the political tricks. Anyway, if Imran Khan can become the PM, then what prevents someone like Shahid Afridi or Wasim Akram from trying their luck with politics? But a better option for Shahid Afridi would be to get involved in PCB or the ICC (similar to what Sourav Ganguly has done in India). First let him gain some experience by taking up a position in the PCB. After that he will realize whether politics is suitable for him or not. Sourav Ganguly does hold a considerable amount of influence in West Bengal. That does not mean he will be joining a politically conscious state. Given the example of former cricket Navjot Sidhu, I do not think a cricketer will have long-term success in politics. There were many cricketers like Kaif, Azhar, and others before or at the time when Sidhu joined politics and who failed. So, I do not think he will joining politics. |

Two decades back (during my college days), I used to watch test matches live. Back then I had spare time to do so. But nowadays it is unthinkable to spend that much time on watching test cricket. I am having a full time job, and family responsibilities. Once in a while I watch for 1-2 hours, and that too happens only when one of the big 3 teams are playing against each other. Even ODI has now become uninteresting for me. A typical 50 overs match lasts for 6-7 hours and unless it is a holiday, I hardly get enough time to watch. So irrespective of whether I like the format or not, T20 suits me.
Everyone has the same issue it is not possible in your busy schedule to sit and watch a Test match for a whole day. Still, there are a few who do watch a test match today. Maybe they have an option while working or maybe they are still die-hard fans of this format. I also cannot spare that amount of time for both ODI and Test cricket and therefore I am happy with the highlights. T20 or IPL are mostly played during the hours when I am also back from work hence I can watch those matches live. Most working-class does the same but the same attitude can be seen with the younger generation. |

You guys remember recent controversy, where one prominent Indian Sport Journalist (Boria Majumdar) threatened Wriddhiman Saha for not giving exclusive interview. There was fair amount of outrage from the fans in favor of Saha.
Kinda funny story. Initially Saha didn't name the Journalist but he shared the screenshots of chat on Twitter. Twitter/Fans found one interesting typo "ypu" instead of "you" . Boria had a habit of writing "you" as "ypu" and well haha Some of the journalists in India have a habit of behaving like emperors. Perfect examples are Suhasini Haidar and Barkha Dutt. The NDA government has managed to cut them down to size, but some exceptions remain, such as Boria. He is not just a journalist, and his influence is spread over the political and movie circles as well (similar to some of the other journalists mentioned earlier). In the end, Wriddhiman decided that enough was enough and came out with a complaint. Boria got a two year ban from the BCCI as a result. He can't enter cricket stadiums or contact players for a period of 24 months. I am sure this guy might not be the only one doing such things. There might be others too but other players might not be like Saha. This incident and action taken by BCCI will give courage to other players too. Journalist now know their limit and would avoid such incidents. |

There is a lot of excitement and pride among the management and fans as they prepare for the next round. In the tournament for the IPL 2022 Playoffs, who will take in the number 3 and 4 slots? SRH and Rajasthan Royals might be perfect choices. I have an intuition that RR will take the 3rd slot and I am not sure about SRH whether they will be still retaining the 4th spot or if any other team will take it. PBKS, DC, and KKR can still occupy that space if they work on their NRR. CSK still can go that far as now Dhoni is handling the captaincy and under him, they have achieved such huge feets with ease. GT and LSG Are trying really well this season and they are both new teams in the IPL franchise. I did not think they will do the well that they have been doing in the tournament. I honestly expected the older teams that have already participated in the IPL to do better but it seems like the new teams are taking the spotlight. I think they are going to go a long way in this tournament judging by the way they are playing right now. Rahul and Pandya have made themselves successful reaching the playoffs in their very first season as captain. This has happened as a result of players from both the teams doing good. In particular in few matches unexpected ending performance happened with both the teams. Those are all moments that makes the team get stronger. Anyhow in my view the trophy isn't gonna be for Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans I also feel that the trophy will not go to any of these two teams. I think it would be an older team that will win this season IPL. After yesterday's win RCB are still in contention. SRH can still take the fourth spot if they win the next match. DC can reach that spot too if they also win the next match. Both teams will be playing today. This will be an interesting match to watch. |

These new teams that are playing the T20 format will not be able to play ODI or Test cricket. All three formats are very different and require different skills. T20 has been beneficial in the growth of cricket but a country cannot only play T20 they need players to play other formats. Unfortunately, there are hardly any players outside the known teams that can play. I think slowly T20 will kill other formats of cricket no matter how hard ICC tries in the future.
The future of cricket lies in T20. We have seen that with test and odi you can't include more teams in cricket eco-system. ICC also knows that, right now we have only one team i.e. Afghanistan which is extraordinary in T20 but not not that good in ODI and test. If ICC move on with T20 then more teams will join in. I do agree that T20 is lucrative and fun to watch for all the parties, but test match isn’t that bad especially when both teams are competitive e.g. often we have seen 20+ wickets fall under a day, or the last batsman playing out a draw in difficult circumstances and such thrill usually doesn’t come while watching a T20 match. Lastly I believe that if ICC introduces the pink ball, and more night matches for ODI and Test then then it can revive Test and ODI matches, because without innovation these two formats shall cease to exist in the long run. I am not sure, how the pink ball will help Test cricket, and playing night matches will increase viewership? Before T20 every team was either playing ODI or Test cricket, I am referring to prior to 2007, at that time we were TV coverage and still, cricket did not get as much recognition as the post-T20 world cup and IPL. I still prefer watching ODI but a Test match is something that I would prefer watching the highlights as I do not have the patience to watch a whole day match for the next 5 days. Today's generation has the same attitude toward ODI and I am certain in the next 10 years ODI will face the same problem as Test cricket is facing today. |

Alas, my prediction was wrong in relation to this match. PBKS had an outstanding match today and totally washed out GT. @mamun74 - good prediction in regarding the match. I'm sure that if you had bet for PBKS, the betting odds would have been higher and you would have got a huge payout for it.
No one was expecting this result. Everyone like me thought that it will be an easy win for GT but thanks to extraordinary spell by Kagiso Rabada, GT were restricted to 143. PBKS chased that without much hassle. Now we are seeing low scoring games, team batting first are mostly scoring around 150. Gujarat was in such remarkable form. Today's result was completely unexpected. They have collected only 143 runs. And winning in this collection is almost impossible. The performance of the bowlers was also very bad. Gujarat has been the most consistent team in the IPL this season. The Punjab team on the other hand is completely unstable. It was unthinkable for me that Punjab would win this match I never expected them to lose from PBKS. A big win for Punjab they reached the target in the 16th over with 8 wickets in hand. Except Sudarshan non of the GT batsmen were able to play yesterday. It is not at all easy to defend a score of 143 on a pitch where the average score is between 160 to 170. All credits for this win goes to Rabada, he got 4 important wickets in his spell. |
