In this tourney official thread it was moved to Sunday (after its first edition held on Saturday) after talking about it and general consensus was for Sundays: now you moved tourney back to Saturday but can't find any discussion about it  May I know why you took this (bad in my opinion) decision? The following week when it was held on Sunday there were only something like 21 players. And the one this last Sunday had around the same or less, I don't recall exactly. So even though many say they will show up on a certain day, it isn't necessarily the case.
A part of it could also be due to a lot of people playing in as many OSS V tournaments and satellites as they can right now. This Sunday will be a big day for that (and Saturday too prolly).
I can understand why they would change it. I was even one of the ones who suggested alternating days so as to allow those who could only play it on one of those days to participate every now and then. At the time I didn't know it was going to be a points series. I had also suggested alternating days to check the turnouts to see which day had the most participants and use that to determine which day would be better for most going forward. Anyways, as for me, I have rugby every Saturday afternoon so other than holiday time, I won't be able to do Saturdays. But again, the numbers speak for themselves (and like I said, I can't recall the number who played last Sunday off the top of my head}. do mBTC SNGs ever run? Are folks primarily playing the fiat tourneys through WPN?
Excellent question. Primarily players play the fiat tourneys and SnG's through the WPN but many mbtc SnG's do run daily. It just may take a little time. |

Good feedback guys and great questoins. The reason it was changed is to assess and see what the highest player volume is for the tournament. So far the Saturday date had the most registered entrants by far. Of course, when it's on Saturday, some people say please have it on Sunday and when it's on Sunday other people are upset and want it on Saturday, therefore everyone can't be pleased. We just want to provide the best opportunity for the most people to play in the tournament.
We appreciate the comments and responses and would like it to be on a set Saturday or Sunday for the rest of December.

question about the "market BTC->USD" conversion for WPN tournaments... If I cash in a tournament I play, do I get the price when the tournament started or when I bust/win? (seeing as late reg. is ridiculously long on many) Any information is appreciated.
I think it would have to be the price when you get paid. Suppose you buy in to a big tournament for $500 and end up winning $100k. WPN are going to pay betcoin in US dollars, not Bitcoin, and so betcoin are going to have to buy $100k worth of Bitcoin on an exchange. What if the price of Bitcoin had doubled since you bought in to the tournament? They're going to have to spend $200k to get you $100k worth of BTC at your buy-in price. It's not like they're going to buy the $100k worth when you buy in, just in case you win. Because if you don't, and the price of Bitcoin halves while you're playing, they've lost $50k on the deal. I don't know though - maybe they're happy to eat such losses. I think you get the same conversion rate...I don't think the btc/usd rate changes that often here that it would change within the span of a tournament. wwwin, though it is possible that this could happen, you get the real time value of the btc at the current btc/usd rate. The main issue arises if you buyin to a tournament in advance let's say 2 weeks into the million and then there is some fluctuation. But in this situation the buyin amount is a fixed number and that number is refunded when you unregister. We hope this makes sense and thank you for the responses. |

I guess there are 240 shills playing at Betcoin right now then which is more than last week and certainly more than the week before. Also, I was asked to simply not respond to these posts and I agreed to so but had to point out one last thing. If you have such a problem with Betcoin, why do you play there? May I reference your post just 2 weeks ago below: What does Betcoin need to do to be able to allow it's players to access the WPN tournament feed again? Do you think this will get ironed out before the start of the OSS, I'd really like to play.

I guess I didn't word my question right... Okay, I register into ($500+40) the Main Event tourney (on Dec.6) TODAY (Dec. 1) in BTC... On Dec. 5th a family emergency comes up and I can't play, so I unregister. I SHOULD be refunded the amount of BTC I originally paid correct? (regardless of what the current price is at the time I unregistered)
where in the Betcoin T&C does it explain what happens in that type of scenario (i.e. possible BTC market price fluctuations in the event you have to unregister from a fiat tournament)
When you buyin there is an exact amount of chips that you buyin at the current market price that is logged in the database. When you unregister you are given that exact amount of chips back. This is a very good question. |
