1. My first question to the Girlfriend is will she had splitted the money had the guy lost?
-cut-
Wait what are you talking about? Guy literally stole her money from his girlfriend, so obviously he could have lost them.
It's wasn't a loan. And he should give him ALL the winnings from it back to his "girlfriend".

If you for example have robbed a bank and use the money it to buy some lottery tickets, you have committed at least 2 crimes: robbery and buying those tickets fraudulently.
If you after that tried to go back to the bank and pay what you owe, not only you would go to jail, you would have to pay fines and government would confiscate all the profits you got from your gambling spree.

Obviously you are obligated to give the profits to the one you robbed, or if you don't want to do that government will be happy to confiscate everything and let you pay the fine for your girlfriend. And she didn't even want it all.

3062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Avoiding exchange flat rate withdrawal fee on Bitcoin when sending in Casino on: November 25, 2022, 05:12:05 AM
-cut-
I want to play in the casino using Bitcoin. I always deposit Doge or XRP to Duelbits from exchange for lesser then do a couple of safe bets just to satisfy the wagering requirements so that I can withdraw in Bitcoin and send to my casino.
I’m doing this so that I can still play while holding Bitcoin when I feel bullrun is coming but sometimes wagering on Duelbits makes me lose everything before I can transfer my funds to my other casino account that I use to hold and wager at the same time.
Do you have any alternative safer way than this? I usually purchase crypto using fiat on exchange.
I think many got confused on my intention of this post but to clarify things here.
-cut-
That latter clarification part didn't really explain what you want, in fact it just made it way more confusing.
Because i still don't have a clue what part of any of this you need to be safer. And i see many confusing issues in the first post.
So let me start to take it a part one by one.

First of all, you are depositing altcoins that you bought from exchange, which i assume that's because of cheaper transaction fees. Correct?
If this is the part you want to make safer or simpler, you could buy your cryptos directly from the casino via visa/mastercard.

Yet you are playing with bitcoin? I am uncertain where did this bitcoin come from as exchanging from those altcoins to bitcoin does require other kind of licence then just gambling license.
I don't know any casino that's also an exchange, Therefore you can't exchange to bitcoin in casino.

But as you said something about losing money by "filling wagering requirements" that made me think that you could be talking about bitcoins that you get as a first deposit bonus or something?
Losing your funds in casino when playing wagering requirements isn't something you can control either. It's just issue of luck.

Then you sound like you understand what self custodial wallet is and you have one, but you choose to keep your money in casinos.
So which part you need to be safer here and from what?
3063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The History of Bingo on: November 24, 2022, 11:59:30 PM
Not sure though if there is a casino that listed bingo in their platform.

But here in our country, bingo games is very popular as it is being played when there is like a an event with festivities (fiesta). Yes, another kind of games that is so fun and exciting specially during last games that we call "blackout" wherein you have to marked all the numbers in your cards.

I'm not a fan of this game though to be honest.  Grin

We have an online "casino" in finland that has Bingo as one game. However we also have government monopoly on gambling and winning prizes are smaller as most of the profits from gambling in finland goes to charity. However i would play bingo in casino if there would be higher prizes.
3064  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk says the price of BTC will rise on: November 24, 2022, 11:53:24 PM
A few days ago, Elon Musk responded to a friend's tweet saying that the price of BTC may increase by the end of winter.  He also asked everyone to be patient.
-cut-
Ok, so others should be patient while Tesla sold rest of their crypto this year?
This is obviously just Elon wanting some crypto community love again and i am betting that at the same time he is looking for liquidity pump to dump his personal crypto bags on. Because he said he won't be selling his personal crypto bags just while ago. Just like when he said that Tesla wouldn't be selling.

This will most likely have an opposite effect again. Meaning we will just go down another (last) leg before the bottom.
3065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: November 24, 2022, 11:04:58 PM
I think he might actually be surprisibly high on poll predictions if he listed. But i wouldn't bet on him. He couldn't get the vote of the common people as a richest man in the world. There's just too much to unpack there.

i think that he has enough spotlight and he knows that "being inside the system" wouldn't help his pr.
Especially when he doesn't know squat about politics.

So far he has been using his eccentricity to mask his mediocracy but debates might be too much for him. He wouldn't know how to dominate the conversation, and i think he is afraid that people see trough his act.

Right now he gets ton of love by just doing insane things. He is the richest man in the world who doesn't pay taxes with a fan base and he can basically do what even he wants. I don't know what he would get out of politics. Especially if he doesn't undertstand how any of it works. His bugdets might just be too irresponsible and weird for any party.
3066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: November 24, 2022, 10:45:00 PM
-cut-
That means that oddsmakers think there is 64% chance of Davis winning while giving Garcia a 36% chance.
I will agree with these odds and bet for Tank.

Compared to Garcia, his combos and movement seem way more composed and technical, and being a southpaw doesn't hurt his changes. While Garcia seem to rely on his natural unpolished talent, and just raw aggressive fast style, using surprisingly quick and powerful attacks even as a defence. Even though those look clumsy compared to Tank, he seem to get ton of power under them somehow.

My guess is that Garcia's style of defence won't work agaisnt technically skilled combos by Tank. Garcia's aggressive style is intimidating but very much defeatable and while his height and reach seem to do add to that and give him confidence, it's all appearances and something that can be taken away fast.

What is your take on this matter?
By centralization you mean nodes are hosted on same cheap cloud servers. That isn't same as 51% attack. If it would be easier to host light weight node in your own home, there wouldn't be an issue and this is something i am sure they are tackling next. Compared to bitcoin, that was once mostly mined from one server farm, i don't see the issue really, some people can't afford mining btc just like some people can't afford hosting their own nodes. This will most likely change in the future with lighter clients.

if cloud servers were compromised, people would either move to other servers or host it by themselves.

Sure, things can be more decentralized but we tend to forget that the whole internet mostly runs on centralized servers and their backups.
3068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SBF another New York Times speaker on: November 24, 2022, 04:16:45 PM
-cut-
The host here is Andrew Ross Sorkin brings together today's most vital minds on a single stage.
-cut-
First of all, i am hoping this speech will get recorded. Because Sam really seems out of touch and hanging with company like that just shows that he isn't ready to remove himself from the spotlight. Who knows what he says, either shameless promotion of his "vital" mind or words of wisdom about how to lose a multi billion dollar business in a week. Maybe he will even lash out to CZ and blame him.

But why with SBF? and we all know that Ftx is bankrupt and under investigation. It is said that FTX is the biggest Fraud history in cryptocurrency and customers lost billions in this incident.
-cut-
Now in 2008, Bernie Madoff was arrested within 24 hours of his fraud being revealed.
But now in 2022, Sambankman-Fried will be attending New York Times Dealbook Summit after His fraud was revealed.
-cut-
Bernie Madoff scammed Americans directly, and FTT international section that failed, prevented people from US using it. There's a big legal technical difference. Also the fall of the FTX seems to be because pure incompetence and irresponsibility. Proving that they had any intention to scam will be harder then with direct ponzi.

-cut-
So why is Sam Bankman-Fried still here? It seems awkward because your business failed and you lost billions of your customers' money and yet He's still part of this event.
-cut-
This event has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies, i am sure that event even enjoys the publicity of creating this type of controversy and as they haven't maybe followed the story as closely as us, they want to hear what he has to say. Also there's a change this still gets cancelled because of public outcry.

And even while i loath the irresponsible behavior of SBF, at this time i might even might buy some ftt as a gamble, not much because it can go to zero, but it looks like bottomed out, and if there are any rumors of recovery i have to consider that some others believe them too. And that would mean some recovery, not to ath but even 3x this point wouldn't be impossible.
3069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cloud mining on: November 24, 2022, 08:34:32 AM
Greetings! I'm on a quest to find some ethereum & bitcoin cash mining sites/apps that have a considerably lower threshold for minimum withdrawal My plan is to reach whatever the would-be minimum payout thresholds, add it all up and then sell the crypto. I'm looking to setup as many as I can to get ideally $4,500 - $6000 in Crypto as quick as possible; then sell the crypto. The money I received then will go towards groceries and anything else beyond. Such as investing in the best paid online traffic methods in efforts to make money online via online content creation. I've recently been spending some time devising strategies and formulating plans to make money working smart rather than hard.

If not, could I in any way make this work with any other cryptocurrencies? Thanks!
I haven't seen any cloud mining site that would be profitable or if it claims to be, it's always a scam. And i have looked.
And the reason for it is obvious:
If cloud mining would be profitable, they wouldn't sell that service but just keep the mining profits for themselves. Otherwise they would be making loss

Even every cloud mining icos that have been looking for investors to build server farms have been scams or failed, so that should tell you something.
Only way for you to get profits by minining is either renting your own mining rig or find something that's profitable to mine.
3070  Other / Politics & Society / Re: should we be wary of AI? on: November 24, 2022, 08:18:42 AM
AI is just a tool. Nothing to worry about.

Let's change the way of thinking: When humans in primitive society invented knives, would they worry that knives would be used to kill people?

What we always have to consider is human beings, which are not in the same dimension as technology. We must know that the core value and advantage of human beings are thinking and creativity, and the principles of human beings have not been thoroughly studied. In the process of development and research Among them, AI is a by-product and a tool, not an end. In other words, when a researcher takes AI itself as his goal, he is going in the wrong direction and will encounter "Laws of robotics".

Besides, is the current AI really intelligent? Far from it.
Question is more philosophical about the concept of being sentient and if that is a human trait only, because i don't think being self aware is so special or unique that we think it is. It's just naturally devoloped skill among others so we can stay alive better.

You are comparing humans to current technology, so obviously you see that humans are superior when it comes to tech as we make it and code it.

Humans can be tools too, so would you compare them to knives? Why would you compare future tech to knives when we have no clue what it will be, or what it will be made of?

When you imagine past current metallic robots and try to figure out how they could heal themselfes and be self-sufficient like human body, you will quickly realise that humans doesn't require "intelligence" for most functions, like healing itself. Most of the stuff is hard coded in by genes/insticts.

And if we want to make robots that heal itself, we must learn how human bodies are so efficient on doing that. And why human body is build as it is. How synapses are working, genes telling bodies what to do etc.

We can already 3d print ears and make muscle like tissue with nanotubes, we can reprogram human body in so many ways, psychologically and medically, so as we get more and more data and scietific break troughs, is it such a far fetched idea we could code self aware biotech humanoid life from scratch that have less limits then humans?

One of the recent opinion polls put support for Trump's nomination at 45%, and that of DeSantis at 30% among the GOP voters (opinion poll from Politico). The recent numbers show strong rise in support for DeSantis, as most of the earlier polls had him in the 15% to 20% range and Trump was well ahead with >50% support. The momentum is with DeSantis, and chances are that he may unite the anti-Trump faction of the GOP. If he manages to get the support from others such as Pence and Cruz, then winning the nomination may not be too difficult for him.
Poll doesn't really give a full picture because those minds who voted on polls will be affected by FOX supporting DeSantis, and later on the full force of GOP and that's not in full effect yet.

Twitter most likely would have helped Trump to win, but i am guessing he wants to avoid twitter as long as he can, because of psychological reasons:
(he would hate that spotlight is on Elon Musk now and he would need to compete about attention with another, even richer and more successful man, who by buying twitter made Musk his daddy and him to look tiny and weak in comparison.) So he won't be coming back until Elon begs him, or he will just lie to everyone he did beg him.

Any case, that's the only way for Trump to have a way to white house. Spotlight will have a huge impact even if that would be bad press.

I wish democrats would just stand behind Pete Buttage, as he would totally dominate in debates.
3072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX collapse: Good or bad for crypto in the long run? on: November 24, 2022, 07:18:31 AM
The fact that it collapsed was really bad. I know some people will say that it's good to get rid of rotten apples, and yeah they are sort of right, but replacing them with tougher regulations won't be as fun as people think.

And everywhere i read about it, ignorant people mock and ridicule cryptos now being a scam. Uneducated people get invited to talk in news to tell that prices of cryptos were based on nothing. Those who mock loudest have a big cheering audience of followers and those will get wrong data what really happened.

The underlying issues how ever are worse, i would compare it to banks and say that if they mess up, they get bailed out. In fact Binance would probably bailed them out if what they did wasn't so messed up.

But i really even can't because to my knowledge even failed banks that got bailed out haven't messed up this way. We have just funded most unprofessional company with billions of dollars. Incompetence and carelessness of Sam was surreal in hindsight, they had no safe measures and it was huge FU to any kind of risk analysis. And new stuff that gets revealed like a billion dollar loan to Sam doesn't really help the situation. Even their company's psychiatrist is leaking out info that makes me think that they did even hire such incompetence on that sector that no one else would.
3073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are crypto devs so greedy on: November 24, 2022, 06:48:07 AM
Banks are actually not different from a centralized exchange so it's weird that you are now cautious of using a cex but now more confident in storing money in your bank account. It only look like banks are more secure than any other cex it's because you can see them in the real world and most of them are already there even before but they can still be able to freeze your account for some reasons or they themselves can go bankrupt later on.

There are many banks like that, who are being reported though in the past. I hope this will now open your eyes and also to the users that will read this. Full decentralization is always the way to go.
Difference being, banks get bailed out by governments. But on some level you are right banks being same, at least from now on, because of the currect cluster of trainwrecks, CEXes will get tougher regulations coming. And they will be more trigger happy to freeze your account from now on in fear of sanctions of not complying.

I don't exactly know what you mean by full centralization, but that implies no fiat ramp and no backed stable coins. Taking fiat money out of the picture will remove most of the institutional investors and reduce the whole crypto marketcap next to zero. Because if you are unable to

And before you say cash and p2p, google FATF travel rule to see what's coming.
3074  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where would Twitter go after its takeover by Elon Musk ? on: November 24, 2022, 12:14:57 AM
I think Twitter has the capacity to be on par with Meta. It is really the largest global forum where even government officials communicate. You don't see that with Facebook. Adding an encrypted messaging system and a payment system would transform it into a very useful site/app. So marketcap wise I would say similar to Meta which at its peak was worth 1 trillion.
Yeah it has a change, not under current leadership imho but who knows who elon wants twitter to team up with next, that could change things. And if elon starts to take care of his staff differently. He wants geniuses to JOIN twitter, not to laugh at their draconian leadership style. Because people rather work in somewhere they are respected and taken care of rather then somewhere which is purely for making money and doesn't add meaning to life. Athmosphere is an investment too and Elon seem to see that only as an expense.

However if everything goes well and they want to compete with facebook, they need groups, galleries and events like in fb. Because that's all what's keeping people any more. People have gone for instagram, and families rather chat in their own telegram/whatsapp groups.

Reddit is basically only social media different enough that i can't see anyone challenging. It has eaten most of the forums and still continues to grow unopposed.
3075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does MMA Have A Gambling Problem? on: November 23, 2022, 11:40:50 PM
To be honest with you mate, I don't think we would ever around at a stage where rigged matches will be weeded out completely, like i said above, sports is business for most of this guys, and if rigging a match is how the money will be made, trust me, they will always find a way to do it no matter how regulators try to stop match rigging.
This is just my thought and opinion though.
Well as long as it's possible to get easy money out of it, people will do it. Ethics doesn't really matter to criminal underworld. However as they said in films, regulations have gone tighter and it's harder, while there are easier ways to make money for mobster wannabes then rigging matches, so i see this as a good path, because MOST people are against it, it's pretty easy to pass tougher regulations. Usually people complain about new rules. But then again those rules are protecting the gamblers and dignity of the whole sport.

If people want to see acting they will go to see well scripted professional wrestling.

3076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New play to earn games that actaully earn you coins on: November 23, 2022, 10:27:42 PM
Gods Unchained pays for playing. It will pay more the better you are playing, but the sad thing is, others in there, that you are playing against, are really good. If you know heartstone, you will know how to play Gods Unchained as it's almost identical. (Except Heartstone looks better.)

And even if you are really good at that game, you most likely need to buy some good cards to beat most of your opponents.
3077  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where would Twitter go after its takeover by Elon Musk ? on: November 23, 2022, 10:07:14 PM
I think this is a good direction for twitter. He is merging Twitter into something that enables Whatsapp-like chats which still maintaining the forum-type nature of Twitter. In the end, I think it is going to look similar to Facebook, but the big difference would be free-speech and the very useful in-app payment system he has suggested.
Good luck for Elon with finding any advertisers when then this thing turns out full blown 4chan free speech mode.

And perhaps Twitter would be able to do what Meta was not and properly initiate the metaverse which is obviously the next stage of online interaction. Also noting Musk's past interest in bitcoin/dogecoin, Twitter may even become a force for Web3.
I wouldn't count on that.

Remember how tesla bought $1.5 billion worth cryptos, and told that tesla won't sell them, and you can buy from tesla with bitcoin and at the same year he suddenly says that pow is bad and tesla won't be accepting bitcoin, and soon after that they dumped 75% of it around $2 Billion worth to markets?
Like he just learned about PoW? While same time praising Doge that was PoW too.

And this year tesla sold almost rest of their cryptos, nearly $1B worth it.
Elon has said that he won't be selling his personal crypto, so i might give him a year after he announces he did.

To be honest, I never invested in Twitter before (wish I had before he bought it!!!) but if the company was publicly traded right now, I would definitely invest.
Well it would be very different company then.
But just out of interested, what do you see the target marketcap being?
3078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is your lost from FTX collapse on: November 23, 2022, 09:06:16 PM
I was late selling FTX when the price was still expensive, which was above $ 20, at that time I was optimistic that FTX would recover because of Exchanges support that had a big reputation, unfortunately the price continued to fall and I lost and sold when the price of $ 5, and this was an important lesson that we had to Always observe developments in the market.
Not just markets but news on what affect markets. Because even if you won't believe the rumors, others will, and with option to leverage trades it can get pretty bad pretty fast. With rumors you also need to take account the reputation of the person who starts them. Fud can be price control attempt from anonymous source, but when it comes from main figure in the scene. You have to take it seriously.

Because, even if you cut your losses and sell -25% loss. You will only lose that 25%. If the rumours end up to be true, you will lose everything. So risks on the latter one are just too much.
3079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does MMA Have A Gambling Problem? on: November 23, 2022, 08:58:50 PM
Watched the video and it i really thought this would be ancient history, and it mostly is but i had trust in regulators that they could weed rigged matches out completely and it would only happen on some low level fights anymore. But who knows, maybe i was naive, because even if that gets harder and harder to cover up, we still have a doping problem that's apparently happening all the time as so many people get caught, so why would it be any different with rigged fights.
