3081  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 28, 2014, 12:47:33 PM
Almost every single ASIC manufacturer to date has missed their published power targets. I do think Spondoolies has done a great job so far, so don't get me wrong, but caveat emptor when you're buying a non-refundable product that doesn't even exist yet.

The Neptune looked like a great buy back in November, and we all know how that turned out, so don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Also, the competition doesn't stand still, and new companies like Spondoolies pop up out of no where from time to time, so it's impossible to predict what the market will look like in August.

One month in Bitcoinland is like one year in many other industries.

How can you compare Neptune which is on 20nm node and a totally new chip with the Spondoolies RockerBox chips which is on 28nm and just a die shrink using Tick-Tock strategy from the best 40nm chip that is hashing since March? Also don't compare the lousy support from KnC which holds my refund for almost 3 weeks while they are mining 300k$ per day.

I really want to jump on this train but I can't bring myself to do it..

I can only imagine in the lead up there may be a lull in the difficulty jumps but as soon as it all starts coming online there are going to be huge jumps in difficulty

It looks like such a great price now with great power usage but I can't help but feel I'll have buyers remorse
As I think it would only be exacerbated by me being a small miner (as I could only afford 2 at this point).. as someone that could afford a lot more would be able to take better advantage of it

Unless someone can convince me otherwise ( I almost implore you to Tongue) I just can't do it!

Most of the people that joined this GB got 1 or 2 units. Also the next difficulty jump will be around 15% and last difficulty jump was 14%. Also i have a feeling that you won't see this price sometime soon.(can't promise you this though) What's more worse for you? Having a buyers remorse for not buying anything or having a buyers remorse for not buying more units?

Anyone still has dimensions and weight of one packed Jupiter? I plan to sell them, but i need to get quotes for shipping.

You mean FrankJupiter...er... pile o crap?

No. Regular Jupiter.

Anyone still has dimensions and weight of one packed Jupiter? I plan to sell them, but i need to get quotes for shipping.

Not Sure of the Packed dimensions , but my UPS email from October said 9KG for 1 x Jupiter.

Cool.

the ppl who orderd 1 X1 are getting screwed

the 25% is a rip off it's supposed to appese batch 1 and batch 2, as i see it batch 1 is now middle of May but thats when batch2 is supposed to ship.

True + the 25% can only be used on minion based products.. like we would ever buy another minion based miner.. NOT.
it would be nice if you could use it in a future order thats not limited to a minion based miner..

I invite you to speak with the wallet and to change your mining supplier!

drawingthesun aren't you the guy that was defending ken a few months ago when i was asking questions in the Moderated thread? I see that now you changed your mind about him Smiley

You misunderstand, I was defending Ken when we were still within timeline of the eASIC deal.

After November came and gone I became very skeptical.

I have been very skeptical this whole year, I doubt I was defending Ken just a 'few months' ago.

The only defense I ever made was not to get the law involved because that would equal never getting a cent back. Looks like I was right, the MSD will put an end to my investment and ruin my entire fortune.

Ok. I still don't understand how could you believe the eASIC deal with just an NDA signed, but at least you know who you are dealing with now.

If you have any equipment that uses more energy than it Bitcoin mining?

I'm buying and escrow is welcome!

The equipment is useless for you, selling for a fair price and help a university research.

USA based

How much would you pay for 15 burnin boards with 300 Avalon gen1 chips? I am in Europe so i think the shipping will actually be more than the boards, but just out of curiosity.
3092  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [VMC] Unofficial Virtual Mining Corporation Discussion on: April 27, 2014, 06:12:52 PM
There is a 90% chance that the unit will not get posted, not arrive or be dead on arrival. Then there will be a 0% chance of getting a refund.

Why would anyone order a unit from this pretend company?
I personally believe that ActM should just turn off their homepage.
No single person in their right mind will buy from them anyway, just ship to those who paid already and refund those who should have it and focus 100% on mining.

Why? This way maybe they can get some suckers to pay for that so they can have funds to pay refunds.
3093  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 27, 2014, 06:11:45 PM
I have little doubt that the the supporting hardware can be made on time. Circuit board and software development is a well developed and disciplined field that has decades of experience. That's not a concern.

There was mention of quality. By it's disposable nature most mining hardware is junk just built able to function long enough and get to market quickly enough to be profitable. This isn't an industry where you are rewarded for quality unless it affects reliability for the short duration of the hardware's useful life. No marks added for quality beyond that point. Spondoolies may make the finest box to use for a paperweight three months from now.

That's why HashFail was so successful? They subcontracted the PCB design and we all know how that ended. With a big FAIL. It seems that the decades of experience weren't of any use for them.

Are we comparing power consumption at chip level or system level? You see to mix things up. Please show me proof where AM chips need 0.55W/GH. I haven't see it until now even if they have chips for almost one month now. Very nice derailing, stating that there is no chip that has that w/GH then saying that Spondoolies chip is half GH per chip but no mention of power consumption. Very smooth, but also very noticeably. Spondoolies chip is 0.8W/GH at system level and also 0.58W/Gh at chip level. And they are hashing since March. I don't see any AM chip in the wild hashing right now.

Check the specs from rockminers testing. They have hashing samples in hand.

To be clear about the specs

SP = 4w/7gh = 0.58w/gh
AM = 6.37w/11.5gh = 0.55w/gh

Thank you. After bitfair prove all by himself that i was right with my statements now you are the second one to do the same. AM's gen3 chips have nothing special when comparing with SP-Tech SP10 chips when it comes to power consumption. We still don't know what price they will have and we still don't have measurements for a full system. So what's so important about them? The density? You are only talking about chip density since we don't have any full system available yet. Let's see if they can pack 1.4TH/s in a 1.25U box. Even if they do it they will be a couple of months later to the game.
3096  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN]ASICMiner Publicly Looking for Potential Customers/Partners for New Chips on: April 27, 2014, 04:20:54 PM
So you can't or you are afraid to tell a number of months. You are arguing with me because I don't believe that $50M will be invested into mining in 2 months, but can't give a specific time? Then what's the point of the argue? It's just a dead end. I gave you arguments you give me nothing. It's just because you say it so. If the money will be invested in 10 months you will tell me that you won the argument because it was a little more than 2 months while i have a strict deadline of 2 months you have no deadline. Be fair.

Don't get your panties in an uproar.

I believe that the hashing power in question will be deployed within five months.

You say you have given arguments, but I see nothing more than opinion. You haven't backed it up by any arguments. You're all like "I don't believe", "I don't think it will happen", "I find it hard to believe", etc. And that's fine, I have nothing against opinions, just don't try to misrepresent it as "fact" or "arguments".

Anyway, I'm sick of you and you have trolled me all too well. From now on, you are ignored.

Ok. No problem with that. You just prove me that i was right Smiley The argument started when I said that i don't think it will happen in 2 months, you think it will happen in 5 months for a whooping 250% more time. Thank you for proving me right.

Please explain how that "proves" that you're right? From what's been posted, there isn't anything that indicates as such. Have you heard the phrase "the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence" before? In other words, just because it cannot be proven/verified, it doesn't mean it's completely false. Your own statements say "I don't believe that $50M will be invested into mining in 2 months." At this moment, we all don't know and everything that's been posted is only conjecture and nothing more. The majority of those in favor of AM do not have facts to confirm that those funds will be present when the hardware is available, just as you do not to verify your own claims. No one has been proven right currently, only time will tell.

I said that i don't think people will invest 50M$ in 2 months. bitfair said that i'm wrong, but also that he thinks that people will invest the same amount of money, but in 5 months. How can i be wrong if he thinks that it will take 5 months when i was saying that it won't be possible in just 2 months? Nobody is claiming to be proven or verified, it's just what we think. Yes no one can be proven right right now, but if i come here and state that i don't think one thing and you come and tell me that i am wrong and then you also tell me that you think that it will be possible in 5 months then you just let me win the argument.

Is there another chip with less than 0.55w/gh? Spondoolies is half the GH per chip and bitfury rev2 is something like 0.7w/gh.

1 BTC = 600 USD and we can close this GB thread in hours.

I have to agree with that. I think even 550 would help.

Gent's this thread isn't about who has the biggest theoretical ASIC dick. If you need to fantasize about that may I suggest you do it somewhere else and not necessarily in public. The claims are useless in an industry where the realities are manufacturers are rarely on spec and more importantly on time. The moment you state your assumptions as facts you lose all credibility and no one listens to you anymore.

So first time you are talking about a product (gen2 chips) and after my reply you switch to another product(gen1 chips)? Why not stay on topic?

elmwar why are you talking to the Trolls in here? Just asking.

Because you are one of them.

You fucking little twat of a man. VE I think. Fuck off back under your rock.

Why do you defend ken so much? Investors will never see the money they invested in. NEVER. How do you defend that?

Obviously only trolls want to know how much money was spent on the datacenter. Real superinvestors know for a fact that it doesn't matter how much money you are spending, as long as you are adding hashpower, nothing can go wrong, and everything will come up AMC.

So wait. If i go and invest 10 mil $ into a datacenter that is producing 1 BTC per month nothing can go wrong? Are AMC shareholders so stupid?
