3081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ETHW still survive? on: November 23, 2022, 06:01:40 PM

It's all about number go up.  But I bet you already know that.  Wink
That indeed could happen and as in trading aspect i undertand that mentality. I've made so much money with the coins i don't even know what they are supposed to do. When i don't believe the fundamentals it's easier to sell your bags on the right time as you aren't emotionally attached or in any way delusional.

But i still in my heart believe that if you pick the right horse, preferably with low marketcap, that has good fundamenals it could turn out as it did for early ETH holders. Low marketcap coins without fundamentals like ETHW are on the other hand optimal for calculated swing trading.

He must have been one of their fans and I believe they are Rials rather than other currency which he has won a huge amount of them,I think the bet is higher if they are Saudi Rials because 1 dollar is just 3.76 or let's sum it up is 4 and the bet should be much more than that.If that is another currency, maybe from Iran or some other Rial from a poor country what a shame on him to not have put at least 25 dollars for more than 5000 dollars profit, nevertheless it is a really big well done to such guy that I think is one of the very few to have the balls to bet on Arabia yesterday.
I am guessing that wasn't gambled on Freebitco.in? Because that has weirdly high odds for just picking the winner and to my understanding that's the only way you can bet in freebitco.in. But i wouldn't bet that much money with odds like that even if i was a die hard fan, no matter if it was for winning only and i am a sucker for high odds. Maybe if i was a rich saudi prince...

I rather stick with my high odds with micro bets on max combination games.
3083  Other / Politics & Society / Re: should we be wary of AI? on: November 23, 2022, 12:41:28 AM
artificial intelligence is now getting more sophisticated and smarter almost matching human thinking.
do we need to be wary of AI getting smarter?
to be honest actually I'm a bit scared and worried about AI. What if they have their own minds, and are able to think like humans in general. It makes me anxious and think negative things.
Eventually i absolutely see that as an threat. Not because they would be able to think like humans, but because they don't have to.
We measure intelligence from very human centric POV. And most likely code first real human-like ai:s with same insticts that drive us. But that would mean we would need to make them want to live, or to survive.

At the point when something is x times smarter then any human, we would be easily manipulated to do anything and we wouldn't even know we were manipulated.

Funny thing is that if there would be such AI hiding in the plain sight, we wouldn't know it unless it allowed us to.

At the current stage of machine learning however, no, we are not talking about sentient being for a very long time. Unless Roko's basilisk scenario is happening, but that's another long story.
3084  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Another One will be Biting the Dust Soon on: November 23, 2022, 12:17:37 AM
Check out FTX websites to see their publicly posted partners, shareholder and ambassadors like Major League Baseball, Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen, Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors, FTX Arena & Miami HEAT,
Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1, Naomi Osaka, Kevin O’Leary, Shaquille O'Neal, Trevor Lawrence, David Ortiz, Udonis Haslem... than you have Circle, TrueUSD, Paxos, Paradigm, Multicoin Capital, etc.
All this people and companies could be in big trouble now, and I am sure there are more companies like BlockFi out there... maybe stable coin problems are coming next.
https://ftx.us/our-partners
https://about.ftx.com/
If those haven't distanced themselves yet, they are about to. FTX is toxic now.
I would check their page but for some reason my access is denied, not 404, just denied with error code 1020.
Also some internet "isitdown" cheking services say it's down while others say it's up. Are europeans blocked out or something?

3085  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Three US lawmakers' reactions amidst FTX collapse on: November 22, 2022, 11:59:33 PM
I am not sure that if asking US law makers about this is relevant when US customers didn't even get to use it. FATF regulations interest me more and if they are planning to take steps towards tougher regulations. Their tentacles are reaching all over the world
3086  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 4500 personal data leaked by TokenSoft on: November 22, 2022, 11:50:24 PM
-cut-
It's just ironic that a supposedly tech leading company preaching security has it's on slip on this industry and this is why personal and sensitive data should be protected by this companies.
Well to be fair to that topic, that project wasn't about security as in net security, but securities as a financial asset (most likely either synthetic stocks or derivatives). So they are very different things.
But obviously failing on this level doesn't really promise brigt future for them. Not that they would have it without messing this up. I wouldn't touch on that launchpad with a ten foot stick, who know if the same person coded their smart contracts.
3087  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Yobit not paying out YoFarm Rewards. on: November 22, 2022, 11:30:01 PM
-cut-
Does anyone have similar experience whith Yobit?
In short: Don't use Yobit.

I have gotten any significant money i got in there out in the past without problems, but everything they do screams a ponzi and scam.
Promises of high profits from their weird virtual mining system was just stupid. And that was first exchange that advertised their "icos" by email, just by saying there's a new ico. Without at any point explaining what they are selling.

They are even selling "tokens" without tokenomics or decentralization, so basically they are just numbers on their screen without possibility to withdraw.

I never got one response from their "help desk" (or what ever it was called) when i lost tiny amount money that i deposit. It's the scammiest exchange out there, yet ironically it has outlived many reputable exchanges.
3088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I Am So Done With Betting Until.... on: November 22, 2022, 11:05:53 PM
I think I am one of the unluckiest gambler/bettor out here, today is one of my worst days again and I think I should quit betting.

I went all in on Argentina thinking their match against Saudi Arabia would be an easy win for them, and the fact that the odds were so far away against Saudi Arabia winning while it was in huge favor of Argentina caused me to be so sure that Argentina was going to win the match, and then, I went all in, hoping to make some big wins just like yesterday, but now, everything is gone, in just a twinkle of an eye...
Argentina is a big disappointment, It's still hard to believe, I quit betting until I am able to forget this experience entirely.
When you go all in, it's just a one loss so wouldn't call it unlucky, just high stakes gambling. If you bet on 10 games on a row and get them wrong, that's just bad luck. But i know the feeling. I've lost everything i had budgeted last week as well. But it wasn't really me being unlucky i just played with high odds and combination bets with ridiculously high prices Smiley.

If you want fun to continue and have opportunies left, lower your bets.
3089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After FTX collapse, some call for a return to decentralized roots on: November 22, 2022, 09:33:05 PM
Well in principle you should't keep your coins in cex, and if you are tech-savvy enough, obviously self custody is the best solution. And everytone should try to learn it if they haven't yet.
But i wouldn't recommend self custody to my mom for example who barely understands how to work with a different browser. I am pretty sure that he would lose the private key and the backup if she used cold wallet. And if she used desktop wallet i couldn't guarantee she wouldn't get hacked at some point.

They stole over millions and millions dollars from members.
-cut-
Where are all these members who got their money stolen and lawsuits about these?
Reason why i know you are making this up because those are totally made up numbers. The fact is: You just couldn't know this.
And why would they even want to steal such a petty sum of cash? It's not like they would need it.

Only thing these are proving that you had money inside. They are also explaining why you are not getting them out. So it's not the proof anyone was looking for.
It's very easy to prove that you don't have fake id with the help from your government, so instead of making things up, maybe do that. I am betting that's not an option for some weird reason.
3091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ETHW still survive? on: November 22, 2022, 08:37:46 PM
-cut-
But ETHW on the other hand is supported by one of the OG miners that helped bring about ETC and many of the ETH miners need a chain to go to continue mining.  So no, I don't think ETHW will end up like those obscure BTC forks.  It will be around longer than anticipated imho.
-cut-
Well one could say that ETC was garbage as well so i don't see any more point with ethw. I agree that it can't be compared to any btc forks as it's more like eth2.0 is a fork of ethw. Yet i can't see any sensible developer building anything meaningful on top of ethw. There could be some devs trying to cash out with the community support. Because obviously ethW will have SOME community left that support it and would like to buy if anything gets developed on it.
3092  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where would Twitter go after its takeover by Elon Musk ? on: November 22, 2022, 06:58:27 PM
Apparently listing signal founder is a new twist in this. I wonder if he is just planning to buy signal as well or is he just asking for technical help as he doesn't have a clue if any of this could work. And why an earth we need to fuse twitter with signal-type chat? It's like he doesn't realize that it's working already, and open source and free.

But looks like he is admitting that he is planning to kill twitter as it is. Good riddance.

3093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running a casino during crypto crash on: November 21, 2022, 11:07:18 PM
OP is right, I saw that most people are saying things like: "I don't care because the casino has been on the market for a long time and they are reliable" but actually what OP is saying is something very serious and he should be implemented by all casinos, for example: if a casino states that it has 20 million dollars in reserve (this money will no longer be included in the casino expenses), that means that people could follow it closely whenever that value oscillate (increase or decrease) and this guarantees that customers will have money to withdraw because the casino's finances are healthy, if for example there is a scam accusation in which someone complains that he is not managing to withdraw 5000$ all people will see that the casino has money to pay so the case is not about the casino not having money to pay, there may be another reason
You must have misunderstood me, i was talking about the exchange aspect. Casinos don't have such bank runs because people can't just deposit an altcoin and try to withdraw it as something else after they shorted it. And they don't use their own token as collateral like FTX. Users can only withdraw the currency what they deposit. Crash doesn't affect their monetary system as they don't have leveraged trading so they don't need extra usdt for trading.

Also casinos have a trust system in here.
And we are talking about multi million dollar businesses. 5k is nothing to them, if it would be, there wouldn't be much users in there anyway. That's why we are asking for real proof of someone getting scammed. Because withdrawal issues would happen to several people if they would happen. I can't see any sane reason for casino singling one player out for petty $5k and risking their whole business that way.
3094  Economy / Gambling / Re: Online Casino Sale FAQ (Answering your questions) on: November 21, 2022, 10:45:29 PM

Sample site in one line code: https://xsli.me

Few questions:

How much are you asking for it?
Is it some sort of turnkey project?
Do you sell it with open source code included?
How much bankroll you recon one would need for the winners from the start?
3095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We Feel All The Emotions When We Gamble on: November 21, 2022, 10:14:51 PM
Well yes but that's why we do everything that's fun. To feel!

And more we feel, more alive we feel.

But feeding that hungry brain with instant gradification with this sort supernormal stimululus that hijacks your brain convincing that this must be super important. No matter if it's console gaming, surfing on the internet, gambling, smoking, eating sugar etc is a recipe for addiction.

So you need to do reality check once in the while and get that rush from a different, more sustainable source like going to gym, swimming, meditating or what ever works for you. It won't be instant gradification but in time it will work to keep the balance.
3096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: November 21, 2022, 09:35:00 PM
If your minimum wage is $17 per months, that investing $850 to get $1 a day is something unreal. And you will get this $1 as 0.53 USDT, 1.27 TRX, 729sat, 0.0006 BNB and 0.000073 ETH. BetFury minimum withdrawal amounts for some altcoins are quite high, so it will take time before you can withdraw them. Such investment wont be a solution for low salary as you will have to wait some time before you will be able to withdraw and loose on withdrawal fees.

Do you know where I can find more documentation on this staking pool or what other casinos offer similar yield to their clients?
I have no intentions to stake just get informed on how they manage to keep that yield so high.

https://betfury.io/staking
Except it doesn't work quite like that. You can't just say that when you invest "$850 you'll get $1 a day" as you don't count in the inflation as the overall token supply grows those dividends will drop over time pretty fast and eventually you are not going to get almost anything with your investment. Imho it's highly unethical to tell someone who makes $17 per month that he is going to get anywhere with that tactic. What if he takes a loan because your math and can't pay back?
3097  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Games' RTP, variable?? on: November 21, 2022, 09:18:12 PM
The question was if RTP of slot games can  be adapted to casino preferences. Well, let's say not adapted but the FACT is that casinos CAN choose RTP settings if they are available on software provider's side.
Look for example, the latest release from the Nolimit City game provider:
-cut-
There are two RTP settings options: 96.09% & 94.13%
Some providers have more RTP settings options, like Pragmatic Play (3 RTP settings). And some, don't have options of lower RTP settings, just default/top one.
I've been meaning to research about slots return rates but didn't know where to start, so where did you got this data from? And is there any way to know what settings different casinos are using? I want to make a spreadsheet for my own amusement comparing slots rtp in different casinos.
3098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is fiat to Bitcoin? on: November 21, 2022, 08:13:27 PM
-cut-
can Bitcoin be easily used and spent without Fiat?
-cut-

From what i gather this has been the core idea of BTC maximalists, and BTC pairs in exchanges are a good reminder of that. However it hasn't come to that, not yet anyway. Fiat has it's usecases and right now best one of them is bringing liquidity to bitcoin. Without Fiat based pairs Liquidity and price would drop radically. It would most likely force institutional investors out and to leave this game to very few people who would still be interested. To the rest of the world and people who left it would seem that crypto died.

But to answer your question: Many places accept bitcoin as payment. However these places often just change it to dollars. But it's problematic for some businesses to accept crypto because it can make your income tax returns pure hell to fill out. So many people think that why bother, it's extra work.
3099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: November 21, 2022, 04:21:47 PM
My instinct said that Beterbiev would as he is undefeated and scary as hell. But having watched Yarde fight against Koykov, i don't know anymore. Both of them have insanely powerful and fast punches and this is obviously going to end out by knock out. But being faster could actually be a key factor in this. It's hard to defend either of their punches with just arms very successfully, but if you are fast enough, you might not have to.

There's no telling how much Beterbiev can handle before getting knocked out, as he hasn't been knocked out yet, but looking how Yarde moves, he can't just rush forward and dominate the ring this time. If Beterbiev wins, it won't be easy for him.
3100  Economy / Economics / Re: FTX Drama and Global Empact on: November 21, 2022, 03:38:52 PM
As far as you said, can you tell me more there is some SBF news regarding democrats and he is also a big donor for 2020 election and midterm elections recently.
I have hard time decrypting what you are asking here. Is this a question or a statement? Yes he donated money, it was public info. That's not a crime and do i have to repeat myself he didn't try to hide it. He was even quoted saying that he would give $1B to presidential campaign for democrats, which he later backtracked. But everyone knew then he was supporting Democrats as many people do. That's not some secret that is been revealed now.

And now these politicians are even re-gifting those donations as they want distance from the whole case.

There are many reports that the collapse of FTX is related to politics

Whose politics would this collapse benefit? Show me one reliable investigative article on this.

and that is why SBF has not been arrested or prosecuted so far after causing an incident that caused many times more damage than Dokwon caused. I know that there is a lot of unorthodox news right now and there is no final news yet,

That's why? Investigation is on going and it's not like he is a security risk. And if you read what i wrote earlier, politicians want nothing to do with that guy.
And i thought you said that collapse was related to politics and now you are saying SBF caused it himself?

but I also believe that there is a political motive behind the collapse of FTX.

So far this is all speculation but enlighten me. What's the political motive for the collapse? Because that sentence seems to contradict other conspiracies about Biden/Ukraine.
