Looks like there will be a lot of changes next season for Barcelona  as Laporta told Koeman in their last meeting that he would base his plans for the next season on the presence of Messi.
Laporta would deal a heavy blow to the market, by selling two players currently playing in the starting lineup, in order to finance Haaland transfer in.
Other then Halaand they are targeting free agents like Wijnaldum and Agruero and Alaba if they can convince him joining them competing with Madrid.

Lionel Messi is still making people excited about his situation whether he will be leaving or not. Laporta thinks Messi's voting is a proof that he wants to stay. But Messi still hasn't spoken about what he will do for certain.

The anxious wait is continuing for now. I'm still hoping for Messi not to extend his contract and I hope he goes to Manchester City this summer.  Grin

Messi is no longer a young player and he is aware that the end of his career is approaching.
I think money is no longer the most important thing to him but the ability to continue to win and collect trophies.
If Barcelona can no longer promise him that then he will go to a club that can give him a chance to continue to win trophies and be remembered as the best player of all time.

To promise Messi more titles, they should sign much better players and strengthen their squad. With this lineup, I don't think they will be able to win the Champions League title even if they win the La Liga.

Barcelona has reduced revenues and large financial debt.
That is why it is not realistic that they could buy new players with money this season, but a much more realistic option is to replace players with other clubs.
Return of Neymar or buying Haaland and Mbappe is not a realistic scenario this year.
Whether Messi will be satisfied with this or will he be looking for a new club that has a better chance of winning trophies only he knows.

Shocking news!
According to glasgowlive, ''Rangers and Celtic should join French Ligue 1,'
Due to falling financial revenues from TV rights, almost all French clubs are in serious financial difficulties, except Paris SG of course (the situation is similar in the Scottish league).
The inclusion of these 2 Scottish giants in the French league would increase the popularity of the French league and also the financial income of all clubs.
What do you think of this proposal?

Two upsets seems to be happening. Azerbaijan and Serbia match is tied at 1-1 now, after 80 minutes of play. And Cyprus is leading Slovenia 1-0 after 79 minutes. Cyprus have a history of causing upsets and if they can defend well for another 10-15 minutes, then we will get to witness another upset victory by the islanders. But keep an eye on Montenegro vs Norway and Slovakia vs Russia (about to start in a few hours).

Slovenia lost to Cyprus, which is another surprising result in group H.
In this group, it seems, there are no clear favorites and anyone can beat anyone.
Malta and Cyprus can obviously surprise all the favorites in the group.
At the moment, it seems that this group will be one of the most uncertain in the European qualifications.

Good for us (Croatia), we played 3 bad games and finished this mini cycle on top of the group Smiley To be fair I only started watching the game today after minute 60 and 4 subs already made and I am thinking that it must have been bad first 60 minutes if Dalic decided to change that much players and bring Modric in.

This is shaping to be a group where all favorites will spill points on regular basis.

Trust me, you didn't miss a thing  Grin
Once again, it turned out that Croatia has big problems when the opposing team defends exclusively with all 11 players.
There are no pre-arranged actions, the players are too slow and the opponent manages to set up and block every attack.
Honestly, if Perisic had not scored, it would have been difficult for Croatia to win this match.
Fortunately, other national teams are not playing well in this group either, they are struggling and losing points and that is the only good news for Croatia.

3091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and tax in your countries on: March 29, 2021, 02:52:44 PM
I would like to hear about the situation with bitcoin and taxes in your countries.
I think it would be interesting to hear different experiences and compare results across countries.
Of course, I understand that in some countries you can't declare bitcoin tax.
I'm not interested in these countries but the ones where it is possible to declare and pay bitcoin tax.
I will start first.
In Croatia, several years ago we received clear instructions from the tax office on how to file a bitcoin tax.
In short, we must lead FIFO and if we can prove that we held btc funds more than 2 years, than we don't need to pay tax (long term investment).
If we have kept btc funds for less than 2 years, we pay 12 % tax plus surtax.
Can you share situation in your country?

In Ukraine not so long ago yhe draft law has been adopted about the cryptocurrency and regulations in the direction of taxes and so on. In this draft bill, a virtual asset is defined as a collection of data in electronic form, which has a value and exists in the system of circulation of virtual assets. And people must declare their crypto assets in their every year declarations. But there are lots of aspects that are not fully finalized.
Last year I read an article about the EU taking a positive step towards cryptocurrency and making AML/KYC a priority for cryto related organization but with your explanation and the support choose toward cryptocurrency by the EU government does it tax is a must in Ukraine or it varies?

The EU is always trying to regulate everything and this often ends up with too much bureaucracy and unnecessary rules  Grin
As far as I remember, the EU court has somehow legalized bitcoin and now it remains for EU member states to agree on practical details and rules for crypto.
It seems that step by step all countries are adopting more and more rules about crypto and are slowly regulating this area which is actually good for users who will be able to more easily legalize their crypto earnings.

EU countries had long been making laws about crypto so its not surprising. but why do you bitcoin holder for 2 years in Croatia have to pay 12% when you are not gaining from it?  as if they've determined already that when you hold BTC for 2 years you already have withdrawn some cash thru the investment. if i am a holder for long term in this country i would rather not make my btc known.

my country doesn't yet have laws about it. hope they'd not make soon.
That's misinformation because holding of any form of crypto currency does not involve any tax, if the crypto currency is sold or replace for another crypto tax is still not involve since it was not sell for fiat or stable coin and their tax is paid to online trading platform so their exchange site is doing the job for the government.

OK, a little clarification seems to be needed here.
According to recent information we received from the tax office, the tax is no longer 12% but only 10% plus surtax.
The exchange of one cryptocurrency for another is not a ''tax event' and is not taxed.
The tax is paid only when changing the crypto currency to fiat and only on the profit from trading.
So, if with FIFO evidence you can prove that you invested in crypto 1 btc and earned 4 btc, and now you have 5 btc, then the tax is paid only on 4 btc, on the amount you earned.
It's latest update from tax office in Croatia, with more clarification for us.
Thanks for the clarifications because user electronics got it all wrong and my believe is that she's using old article to judge the recent update. However, you never clarify the issues of holding cryptocurrency for long either since we have investors that use it as their own way of investment.

I hope you all understand that I'm not a tax expert and just pass on the information I find on the public website of the Croatian Tax Office.
For answers to specific questions you should talk to a tax advisor, bookkeeping service or tax officer (advice for any user here regardless of the country in which you live).
I plan to do that, but only at the moment when I withdraw my crypto funds to my bank account, considering that new clarifications and interpretations of the tax office are constantly coming, I guess based on new questions and situations from tax practice.
As far as I understand from the official opinions of the Croatian tax office (until now), if a user can prove with FIFO records that he kept his crypto funds in a digital wallet for at least 2 years, then he is exempt from paying taxes (The rules are exactly the same for those who invest in the stock market, stocks, bonds, investment funds etc).

EURO 2021 starts in a few months but qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup are currently being played so it's easy to get confused and mix it up  Grin
Unfortunately, due to Covid, nothing is normal anymore, so the EURO has been postponed for this year and the qualifying matches for the World Cup started before the EURO, which has never happened in history.

3094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: March 29, 2021, 09:51:05 AM
Unexpected for me results of Spain.  This is one of the strongest teams, but it is hard to take the victory from Georgia. It was a very strange match with Georgia scoring first.
France at least played well this time. Scored two goals, but there was also a moment with Mbappe. It's like the most expensive footballer, but he can't score a penalty.

Since the draw against Greece, I was a little worried about the Spanish game. And it turned out to face Georgia who was much weaker than Greece,
still Spain played disappointingly and even conceded first in the first half. Finally in the second half Spain managed to score 2 goals, but the winning
goal scored by Daniel Olmo had to be obtained in 92 minutes. This proves Spain has a hard time facing Georgia, even though as you said Spain is
one of the strongest teams in the world. This is a lesson for Luis Enrique to improve his team play in the next match.

Personally, I don’t think there is any need to worry about Spain and they will surely end up first in the group.
Other favorites are also struggling, look at Croatia, Portugal etc.
Beginning of each qualification is difficult due to new players in the team and the time needed to play and prepare the team.
The quality of the team, the experience and the routine ultimately decide the winner.
Weaker teams can surprise in one match but do not have the quality to constantly play at a higher level.

A lot of new users on this forum are ready for anything just to get some merit and thus reach a higher forum rank.
I remember starting a merit giveaway topic in this section last year, I think.
I got very few quality applications from the newbie so I closed that topic.
After that, several newbie members sent me unwanted private messages asking for merits.
Of course, I reported them to the admin.
From begging for merits to trying to buy is a small step and I hope we will succeed in discouraging such a practice.

Bitcoin is still the leader in the crypto world and seems to me the safest option if you are planning a long-term investment.

3098  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Porez na bitcoin i kriptovalute 2018-2019 on: March 29, 2021, 09:15:59 AM

Smiley

https://www.bug.hr/propisi/koristim-kriptovalute-moram-li-platiti-porez-13753

Sretno!

Personally, I was delighted by the news of the great return of the young Croatian tennis player Ana Konjuh after a severe and long-lasting injury.
This young girl has not given up on her tennis career and seems to be on the verge of returning to the top of world tennis after a magnificent victory against the winner of the French Open Iga Swiatek.
''World No.338 Ana Konjuh has progressed to the round of 16 at the Miami Open after defeating Iga Swiatek 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.''
4 years ago she was a great hope of world tennis until she was stopped by a serious injury.
Magnificent return, bravo Ana!

Dinamo Zagreb's players are desperately trying to win the match and advance to the next round. And they have been able to. I was also impressed by their lively gameplay. Although Tottenham failed to score, the match was very exciting. If Dinamo Zagreb can make a similar effort against Villarreal, they will be able to beat Villarreal. Mislav Orsic has scored 6 goals in the last 5 matches. He is in great form. Villarreal's defenders must resist him.

Mislav Orsic is a very valuable player for D. Zagreb here now. He made a big contribution to the team while reaching this level in the Europa League. I agree that a difficult draw is waiting for Villarreal. If Villarreal manage to get an advantageous result in the first leg, I think they will advance to the semi final. But I don't expect any of the matches to be easy for them.

Dinamo has been playing consistently well in European competitions in the last few years and just because of a lack of luck they did not pass the group stage of the Champions League last year or Benfica 2 years ago in the European League.
Therefore, this great victory against Tottenham is not the result of some luck but the quality and experience of Dinamo from the last few seasons in Europe.
I'm convinced that the match between Villarreal and Dinamo is completely open and that both clubs have a chance to win and advance to the competition.
Villarreal are not playing well in the Spanish championship and have weaknesses that Dinamo can take advantage of.
