I love the way Arsenal is playing right now. They are pressing Leicester quite well and it seems like Leicester so far are having hard time facing these attacks. Leicester are also trying hard to find an equaliser but I think Arsenal will find enough goals and will come out as winner in this match. Saka and Martinelli are working great out in wings and taking up chances.
Arsenal doesn't have any excuse not to finish in the top 4 position ahead of Manchester united and Tottenham. So far it seems they're easily doing that especially as they're comfortably winning 2-0 against Leicester City. Leicester City are playing an unproductive style of play in which they have all the possession but can't do anything in the frontline. It's the 75th minutes and excluding the ball possession, arsenal seems to have this game under control. They're ahead in regards to chance created/attempt at goal. Arsenal are taking their chances unlike Leicester city. Leicester city could probably get a goal but that doesn't mean they're stealing any point form Arsenal. |

Still if they have to face Manchester City or Real Madrid in the next play-off round then i would say that they are the underdog then.
What are your saying, you called our win a managed one, did you know the teams we played last season on our way to the final. We played A.Madrid and won them both legs. Even the Real Madrid we took them out of the competition and eventually won against Manchester city in the finals. Chelsea are a cup team, we do very well in cup competition and I won't be surprised if we go all the way. Assuming we weren't hit with injuries, I would had been more confident of us defending our title. If there should be any team I should be worried about as a fan, it'll be Bayern Munich, the rest competitors aren't much of a new obstacle if we are to face them. Having to be the underdog isn't a problem for Chelsea, I thought football fans should have realized that by now. |

In my opinion, Chelsea is not the favorite for the season to win the Champions League, despite Chelsea's status as defending champion. For this season, there are many clubs that are more worthy of being candidates for the Champions League, because we can see their game in their own domestic league.
You must be new to the champions league then, when it comes to this league it doesn't matter whatever you're playing in your farmers league. The champions league is for champion and anybody playing there shouldn't be underestimated or you will end up been surprised and if not careful kicked out of the competition. The last time Chelsea won, we weren't the favorite as well so we won't be new to the whole discussion of not been the favorite to win. Already we should be progressing to the next stage with ease as we already have a nice advantage with two goals deposit and currently winning games back to back. The likes of James is fit and should fixture which will help us in the right wing then we choice from the option available to filled the left wing. |

90 minutes Chelsea continued to display great teamwork despite their win at the end of time. 1-0 is a pretty good result because Newcastle United is not an opponent that can be underestimated with a record of never losing in the last 6 matches in the Premier League.
We were just lucky, we could have easily gone 1-0 down if that penalty appeal by Newcastle was review. We had everything right expect the goal chances weren't coming. Havertz didn't have a good good even though he scored, he wasn't getting into better goal scoring opportunity. When substitution were introduced, I wasn't happy jorginho and him (Havertz ) would still be on the field but thankfully Tuchel knew better and he got the results at the end. The premier league season is coming to an end, times like this it doesn't matter how you get the job done. What's more important is the three points which we secured few minutes ago. Next we try to keep the winning sprit by winning the next champions league game and progress to the next stage. |

The fight for the top four just keep getting interesting, Arsenal are always the favorite considering how many matches they have outstanding compared to other competitor. Unless arsenal pick up bad form and start losing games after game can Manchester united or Tottenham have hopes of taking the last spot. Chelsea crisis could make them drop point but hopefully that doesn't happen. Chelsea has brilliant so far considering they aren't playing with their favorite wingback in the person of chiwell and James. Without this players still the squad haven't lost that much games but the draw has been frustrating due to us relying on this wingback to create chances or score goals. Chelsea is/was not founded by Russia or by Roman Abramovich either.. Owners will certainly come and go but the club will remain. The club was in existence and running before Roman bought and they obviously got these level of successes but since this is a football club and should have the liberty to keep running until a new owner comes not telling the club not sell tickets, Jerseys and freezing their bank account. That is totally unfair.
I tell you the whole agenda against Chelsea is now obvious. Big shout out to Roman for taking one for the club. He is constantly putting the club first in whatever decision he takes. The British government should stop punishing Chelsea for whatever reason they know nothing about. Put the sanctions on Roman, but leave Chelsea out of it. Maguire is a disaster for Manchester united, they have to stop their English agenda and let go of that clown, he should be beached and never played again not minding how much he was bought. They should take some lessons form Chelsea in regards to beaching Lukaku and playing someone else that can deliver goals. Maguire can't defend, he's a fraud. Ronaldo hat trick was a surprised and truly I'm not happy him scoring now. I was expecting a master class against Atletico Madrid but now I don't think he'll be able to deliver. I'm expecting goals from both sides, hopefully the coach chooses to play an attacking game instead of defense
In this match Eyimba conceding, that I'm certain of but them scoring is a doubt. Look at the statistics of the top 10, they're the least scorers and have the worse goal difference. They're among the worst clubs in that top 10 hopefully this nightmare stop soon. Is this the same coach that chose only one home-based player for the recently ended AFCON? He included the best keeper in the league, John Noble (Enyimba), only to make him the third choice with zero appearances. Inviting home-based players during friendlies and qualification games is not a new thing; former coach Gernot Rohr did the same thing. After the qualification rounds, the home based players are replaced by international players. I didn't follow up this but in his excuse I believe he wasn't the one incharge. He just picked up from where Gernot Rihr left maybe this were the players made available by the previous coach. Eguavoen was the only coach to have won all three group stages of the AFCON after he previously did the same last time he was incharge. Already he's picking interest in the home based league and probably if he get given enough time he'll build a team that can compete against the likes of senagal for the AFCON. |

Do note the champions league isn't like any other local league out there. You can be doing great in your local league but things become different when you play at the champions league level and vice versa. Nobody would have boldly predicted Real Madrid eliminating PSG especially as they had a goal advantage over them and including the quality of players in the squad. Same goes for this game, although the odds are against Manchester united, don't be surprised when the come out victorious. For the next round of the champion league, my game of interest would be the Chelsea vs LOSC game. I would love to see how the boys respond to the injustice on the club. Punishing a club just because of some political disagreement isn't fair treatment. I hope the boys come out fully for this one to take all point and progress the nthe next stage. |

Chelsea have already predicted an easy win over Norwich. However, Chelsea only won 3-1, as they did at the start of the match, I thought they would win by more than 5 goals. However, a win in this match confirms Chelsea are in the top 4 of the points table. Because, Chelsea has no chance to win the title now.
How can you call a 3-1 win just, Chelsea winning that games goes a long way to say the players have their heads in check. Everyone was expecting a defeat or probably a bad match day due the the recent development but the squad kept all that negativity behind them and went on with their business as just another match day. When Norwich were looking like they could get a point from the game, the coach did the necessary thing and Introduce kante and Lukaku which they both didn't have a bad game. It was the introduction of kante that lead to the third goal that sealed the match. It was quite a profitable substitution by the manager. I read if this keep getting worst it might end with Chelsea getting some point reduction at the end of the season which means if that was to be the case then we can't afford losing any match we have left. |

PSG ultimately lost the tie due to their lack of desire and character and, at this stage in football, no team can do without these attributes, which Real Madrid showed enough of. It’s so sad that with the big guns in the team, like Lionel Messi, Neymar, Marco Verratti and Di Maria, nobody could step up their game like the way Luka Modric and Karim Benzema stepped up for Real Madrid, no one rose to the occasion for PSG except Mbappe. Exiting the Champions League at the last 16 stage is unacceptable for PSG and the manner in which they were eliminated makes matters worse.
This isn't new, PSG should be used to disappointment by now, the last time I remember everybody thought PSG will win the champions league, then they just bought Neymar and Mbappe for record fee still they got knockout by Real Madrid. Mbappe should leave that club if he wants to win the champion league. You can't expect a retirement club for big players to be serious. From the first half it was evident that real Madrid would get something from the match. Although they weren't finishing the chances they got. Real Madrid players were more determined and do deserved that win, I was thinking the disappointment would be in the Bayern Munich match and not that of the PSG. The PSG players were just feeling relax, they didn't put any pressure on Real Madrid. It was a boring match for me and had to sleep off then waking up to the scorelines of real Madrid winning. |

I don't know how Emyimba got this bad for the past 5 years now, they have been struggling to make the top 4, they are currently occupying 7th position on the log, the biggest surprise this season is Rivers United, we narrowly avoided relegation last season and we are already on top of the league this season, we went into the season as underdogs and that really helped ease the pressure to get us the necessary results.
In that five years they won in 2019 and still the highest winners in the tournament. Rivers united been my home club, I'm yet to understand what's going on. Them been at the top is truly a surprise, could it be because they're playing brilliantly or others are playing badly. As for the story of Nigerian Soldiers Beating Up Shooting Stars Footballer For Refusing to Leave Restaurant (Video), I don't understand why our law enforcement officer always take advantage of our celebrities to show power. Before now it was the music industry taking the hit but now they have shifted attention to the footballers. The good news though among all this is the Men's national coach Eguavoen has named 7 NPFL players he wants to invite to Super Eagles’ squad. This is one of the advantages of having a home grown coach they always pick interest in the local league instead of begging foreign based players to come play for the nation. |

We have to give special credits to the entire Chelsea team, the coach and players for handling this news very well and not Letting it get to them. More goals definitely in this second 45mins.
Sadly this sanctions will definitely affect the club even though it doesn't show with the results we get as we play matches but players will be leaving soon. Already we have three defenders out of contract and chances are they're considering leaving with a big contributions to the situation at chelsea. Assuming Roman was still in charge, we could have been able to convince the players of staying but now nothing can be done again. Chelsea already has a successful season, we have been winning trophy all over and been getting to finals, we're still in the champions league and FA cup which we're going to go far in those competition. My worry is next season, how are we going to coup that's the worry now. |

Nice initiative, atleast now we have a thread to discuss our own professional football league. We already have one for African and now a dedicated one for just Nigerians. Hopefully this thread stays active because I doubt majority watch the league although I follow up development as a result of constantly listening to radio when driving. When I heard Eyimba weren't having a good season I thought maybe they're just shy of the lead but after checking the table, surprising they're sitting at the 8th position with just 7 wins from 17th games played. That's very poor for a club like Eyimba that has produce some of the finest players from Nigeria. Hopefully they bounce back quick One issue the NPFL is facing is finances, every now and then you hear stories of unpaid wages and salaries. Things like this is what discourage fans from watching and the poor broadcasting of matches as well. Hopefully we'll pass this phrase. |

Some major news update in regards to the Nigeria vs Ghana game. While I don't wish the Ghanian team any harm and hopefully they can have their full squad so we enjoy an entertaining match but recent development have been in the favor of Nigerian. Firstly, Super Eagles receive major boost ahead of World Cup playoffs then Injury crisis rocks Black Stars’ camp ahead of World Cup playoffs. Ghana are likely to be without Baba Rahman and Kamaldeen Sulemana for this month’s 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria. Both players are currently nursing injuries which could keep them out of the two matches.
Rahman and Sulemana didn’t feature for their clubs last weekend and no date has been pencilled in for their possible return. Baba Rahman last played for Reading on February 19, while Kamaldeen Sulemana was left out of Rennes game against Angers last weekend. The match is to be played on the 25th of March so probably this players should be fit before then unless their injuries are severe. I don't have any information on this yet but I'll be keeping the thread updated with developing news on this issue. |
