You talk like a true believer in no proof... since you can't point to the proof in the NIH studies.

Cool

You are an anti-vaxxer that thinks the moon landing was fake.

That's why I started the post with " could be unrelated " .. but a news article isn't exactly fact.

Interesting article, could be unrelated but you never know. A man close to some CV research breakthrough shot in the head, presumed killer then went to his car and shot himself in the head. I'd say its a little out of the ordinary snice both are chinese and one is working on CV

Don't let facts get in the way of your conspiracy theories.

https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2020/05/06/university-of-pittsburgh-coronavirus-research-murder-suicide/

Quote
According to police, the two victims knew each other. Investigators say they believe the male found in his car shot and killed the man in the Elm Court home before coming back to his car and taking his own life.

Ross Township Police released their findings on Wednesday, saying they believe the apparent murder-suicide was the result of a “lengthy dispute regarding an intimate partner.”

That's why suchmoon called it a conspiracy theory instead of a conspiracy law.

That's not enough. I really don't get it. Overall, the discussion is about Flynn reversing his guilty plea. Is that material? Is the exact percentage material? It sounds like you agree with Techshare and I that anyone brought into the federal court system by the FBI has overwhelming odds and costs stacked against him.

Do you agree or not that anyone brought into the federal court system by the FBI is a fucked monkey?

If we're going to have a rational discussion, we have to figure which facts we agree on.

Are you willing to do that?

When I post data with sources, and the response is 'nice cherry picking' followed by an argument....do you understand why it doesn't make sense to continue the discussion until we figure out what the actual facts are that we agree on?

I didn't intentionally cherry pick the data.  Maybe I missed something, it's possible - and I'll apologize and admit I made a mistake if so.

What did I cherry pick?  I don't understand.

Do you think I cherry picked the year 2018?  I can't find the numbers for 2019 - if you can let me know.

Disingenuouscherrypickingtwatsayswhat?

Yes, that is the definition of cherry picking.

What statistics did I leave out?

Quote
As of 2018 (https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2019/06/11/only-2-of-federal-criminal-defendants-go-to-trial-and-most-who-do-are-found-guilty/ft_19-06-11_trialsandguiltypleas-pie-2/), 90% of those facing federal charges plead guilty, 8% have their case dismissed, 2% go to trial.

Of the 2% that go to trial, 83% are found guilty by a jury (or occasionally a judge if they waive their right to trial by jury)

Do you think these numbers are not accurate?

.....

Do you have a point? If so, what?

Yes.  The data isn't cherry picked.
3106  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Outbreak on: May 07, 2020, 12:28:50 AM
With the newly revised CDC death rates, the percentages are even lower than that in the US.

This did not happen.

Do you understand?

So you are arguing this CDC page is lying?

"It  is  important  to  remember  that  death  certificate  reporting  may  not  meet  mandatory  reporting  requirements  for  reportable  diseases;  contact  the  local  health  department regarding regulations specific to the jurisdiction. In  cases  where  a  definite  diagnosis  of  COVID–19  cannot  be  made,  but  it  is  suspected  or  likely  (e.g.,  the  circumstances  are  compelling  within  a  reasonable  degree  of  certainty),  it  is  acceptable  to  report  COVID–19  on  a  death  certificate  as  “probable” or “presumed.”"

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm

Those aren't newly revised death rates.

You need to read the words.  The provisional death count of 44k refers to the certified deaths.  It takes 1-2 weeks to certify a death, which means the number we're seeing today is lagging 1-2 weeks..

Do you understand the difference between provisional death rates, which are lagging 1-2 weeks behind and the reported deaths?

It is important to note that it can take several weeks for death records to be submitted to National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), processed, coded, and tabulated. Therefore, the data shown on this page may be incomplete, and will likely not include all deaths that occurred during a given time period, especially for the more recent time periods. Death counts for earlier weeks are continually revised and may increase or decrease as new and updated death certificate data are received from the states by NCHS. COVID-19 death counts shown here may differ from other published sources, as data currently are lagged by an average of 1–2 weeks.

You shouldn't put so much faith in the media.  Do your own research.

I understand that things have changed, yes, but these thinkers are now deemed Republican and Conservative and that's what people are going to refer to them as. If liberal people with similiar thoughts to RBG was appointed and confirmed to the court, we would say that the court is moving towards the left.

Unsure on what your argument really is here. I feel like this is an argument for just the sake of arguing.

I am very sorry you don't understand the meaning of The Overton Window, and how an extremist left would make moderates appear more conservative in comparison.

What do you expect to gain from passive aggressively insulting squatz' intelligence?

Fuck you and your tone policing you disingenuous twat. So many delusional people here dreaming they have a sliver of a chance of winning in November. Just like last time, you will hang yourself with your baseless overconfidence.

I'm not confident at all about what's going to happen in November.
You seem to be though.

Why not just be civil instead of attacking anyone who disagrees with you?

Once again, the federal conviction rate is 98%.
As of 2018, 90% of those facing federal charges plead guilty, 8% have their case dismissed, 2% go to trial.

Joe is on his way out. Meet your new Dem pick. https://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/forms/C00745075/1403629

It literally is committeee for her to be picked for VP. God if this is real and something that happens, I swear to god that's insane. This is literally just going to be another Obama presidency if that is the case. Honestly what am I saying, it's going to be an Obama presidency either way if Biden is elected. They (Biden and Obama) are pretty much the same.

..... Biden is totally not picking his VP right now, too far out and people don't care. They care a lot more about Coronavirus updates.

If Michelle Obama is Joe Biden's pick for a VP, suchmoon I'm pretty sure you have a guaranteed win for this bet. Michelle Obama is someone that's going to win independents even though she doesn't have political experience. People are immediately going to associate her with Obama's policies and Obama is still incredibly popular with moderate democrats. I expected Kamala Harris and speculated that she dropped out early because Biden's campaign cut her a deal for some position in his administration, but I could see Michelle Obama taking the same spot.

Kamala for SoS, maybe? That was what Obama did for Hillary back in '08.

I feel like Kamala would be more likely to be tapped as attorney general with her background.

Still leaning towards Amy as VP pick.  She's least controversial and would probably give him a decent boost in Michigan and Wisconsin in the general election.

I feel like there's only a very small chance Michelle Obama will end up on the ticket, but who knows.  It would be interesting if she does though.  I could see Trump playing the 'you want another 8 years of Obama?' card...and the reaction being 'uhhh, yeah. please.'

The whole blaming the democrats for the lock down is such a weird argument to me.

Perhaps because the most egregious, heavy handed, and nonsensical lock downs are all in Democrat controlled districts?

Why aren't they mad that Trump is allowing this to happen and isn't doing everything he can to protect their freedom?  He's already made it clear he has absolute power over the situation - why isn't he using it?

While I would consider myself a republican and would say that I do love freedom and liberty and all of that, I don't understand people who are complaing about the stay at home orders.

I get it -- people are being hurt economically and they want everything to go back to normal. But there isn't going to be a way to go directly back to normal. I don't care if you open up tomorrow or in two months, your business isn't just going to magically be back up and amazing again b/c people are just not going to want to go out as much for sometime.

If you opened up all the restaurants in my town, it wouldn't magically fill them up. If we just begin to open up everything willy nilly and tell everyone its okay though, we're going to kill more people -- lets not.

Yeah, why can't Trump stop disease! Death of any kind is his responsibility! Tornadoes? TRUMP! Floods? TRUMP! Locusts? TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!

You don't understand Squatz? You claim to have expertise in economics but you don't understand? You are either a fucking idiot or a liar. Also, side note, the false choice between the state mandated closing of everything except huge corporate chains vs "opening everything up willy nilly" is a false choice logical fallacy. Why would people object to being bankrupted, impoverished, made homeless, and starving by force of state mandate of which they have no authority to do in the first place right?

Calm down. Squatz isn't an idiot or a fucking liar.  Why not be civil?

So less people die than the last years (95%)
39910 Covid-19 deaths and less than 6000 from flu. Good to know a cure for the flu is found.

How much will the coronavirus issue impact voter opinion against Trump and the GOP if the elections go ahead in November 2020? Will protest voters move over to Biden (or whoever the Democrat nominee will be) because of their opposition to manner in which Trump conducted himself throughout the whole coronavirus issue?

Trump has done a fine job and if anything people are more pissed at the Ds over the lockdowns than pissed at Trump over any of it..
All of those stimulus checks had Trumps signature on em, and the less money you have the more those checks mattered..

If you aren't speeding ... I don't think you have much to worry about.

<not speeding
lol

The checks don't have his signature on them.  He has his name printed in the memo though and you get a separate letter on White House letterhead with his signature.  I got mine for my $48 stimulus payment today.

The whole blaming the democrats for the lock down is such a weird argument to me.  Probably just my TDS, but  I see so many Trump supporters bitching and moaning about their civil liberties and at the same time defending Trump in everything he does, while at the same time Trump is allowing their civil liberties to be stripped.  Why aren't they mad that Trump is allowing this to happen and isn't doing everything he can to protect their freedom?  He's already made it clear he has absolute power over the situation - why isn't he using it?
