3121  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: October 27, 2020, 03:45:07 AM
I caught Covid-19 about 3 months ago as I came into contact with too many people due to my job. With the help of being young and a little luck, I managed to overcome the disease in a short time. I think the world will completely get rid of this pandemic in 1 year.

Within the next 2-3 months, a large part of the global population (at least in the urban areas) will acquire herd immunity. Then the governments will face the dilemma of whether to go ahead with the mass-vaccination or not. In countries such as India, the infection and fatality rates have plummeted by more than half during the last few weeks. Apart from Europe (which is facing the second wave) all the other regions are now in a better state.
3122  Other / Politics & Society / Re: All Christian Countries Got Fucked! on: October 27, 2020, 03:33:00 AM
I don't know, if you go back a few hundred years the Muslims and catholics were fighting in Europe and the Middle East. In current times most western countries don't try to fight based on religions. There are usually more issues to war than just religion, I would argue the wars usually take place because of economic reasons.

In the Armenia-Azerbaijan it's actually not Armenia at war. It's an automous region within Azerbaijan than is inhabited by Armenian people. The land is international recognised as Azerbaijan. So if Armenia would actually be at war I am pretty sure there would be countries come and support them.

I would rephrase the statement like this: for the western nations, economic interests are more important than religious solidarity, while for the Muslims nations that is not the case. Anyway, no one can ignore a country such as Turkey, which is such an important economic power. Even Russia don't want to support Armenia (despite historical connections), because Turkey is a major trade partner for them. Recently Russia sold S-400 systems and other defense equipment to them, and also the Turkstream gas pipeline runs through Turkish territory.

But the problem is that Turkey and its proxies will keep chipping away territories from the Christians. After Armenia, the Azeri populated regions of Georgia will be the target. And after that the Russian Caucasus will be up in flames.
3123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet do you think is the best? on: October 27, 2020, 03:21:48 AM
Indeed its not advisable to use an exchange to store your coins. There are many trusted wallets that we can safely use like Myetherwallet and electrum.
Dont use an exchange as wallet, its not really safe. Just use it if you already want to trade your coins.

I have lost my coins multiple times with exchange wallets, starting from BTC-e/Wex.nz, to Cryptopia. But sometimes people find it easy to store their altcoins and tokens in exchange wallets, as installing desktop wallets is not very convenient. Also, it is not practical to install desktop wallets for all the coins, if you have dozens of different cryptocurrencies. Multi-coin wallets are also good, but I don't trust them.
3124  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chinese Group Behind Release of Biden Tapes Claim Bidens Offered Up CIA Agents on: October 26, 2020, 06:27:04 AM
A few hours back I saw this tweet from Donald Trump Jr.

https://twitter.com/DonaldJTrumpJr/status/1320392588826955776

Quote
No one cares about Hunter Biden’s Hookers and Crack (though it would be a big deal if it was me). Americans care that he sold access and influence and held money for his then VP father. They care that the Democrat nominee is the most compromised candidate to ever run for office!

Twitter and Facebook is trying their best to suppress the story on Hunter Biden. But his disgusting pictures and videos are all over the internet. Interesting thing is that till now neither Joe Biden nor Hunter Biden has refuted that these images/videos are fake. But then, no one cares about "Hunter Biden’s Hookers and Crack". All that matters is whether Hunter did illegal dealings in China and Ukraine, for his father.
3125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet do you think is the best? on: October 26, 2020, 06:17:14 AM
I use the current coinbase and myetherwallet wallet. Trading on coinbase is also quick and convenient, myetherwallet is familiar when I know ETH. I have no trouble with them, both are very safe until now.

I agree on MEW. I have been using myetherwallet for the last three years and never had any issues with them. I have seen a lot of users complaining that it is not safe and hackers find it easy to steal the tokens. But I have never faced any such trouble. If you take the necessary security precautions, then I guess your ETH and the ERC-20 tokens are going to be safe.
3126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will it ba the next dogecoin ??? on: October 26, 2020, 06:07:29 AM
Dogecoin was the first "parody" cryptocurrency. It was created to mock Bitcoin by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer. But in due course, it went viral and received widespread acceptability. Now if you ask what will be the next Dogecoin, there were hundreds of similar coins created after the creation of DOGE. But none of them managed to get any traction. A few examples are Trumpcoin and PutinCoin.
3127  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: October 26, 2020, 05:34:29 AM
The media played a very negative role this time with the COVID 19 pandemic. Coronavirus is highly contagious, but that doesn't mean that it is as dangerous as Anthrax, bubonic plague or Ebola. The fatality rate is very low. However, the media painted it as something very dangerous and untreatable. As a result there were even incidents when those who tested positive for the virus attempted suicide. People must be educated about this virus.

I think the media's negative role maybe in relation to the African continent, contrary to their information that corpse were going to be found everywhere along the African streets but it didn't happen close to that in Africa. Maybe the media were considering the poor healthcare in Africa but Africa has lower risk of covid-19. But about the negative, other continent wasn't negative for them because they got affected in numbers. I wishvall suffering from covid-19 a quick recovery.

I don't remember reading any such news item regarding the COVID 19 situation in Africa. But what you have described is somewhat similar to the news reports that we had from the city of Guayaquil (Ecuador) during the early phase of the pandemic. Media reports claimed that there were unclaimed corpses on the streets and municipal workers were struggling to remove them on time. Africa on the other hand, seems to have done relatively well against the Coronavirus.
3128  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: October 26, 2020, 05:26:32 AM
Economist must step up so they can help the country survive considering the Oil-Rich country, they still have the chance to survive but printing more money is indeed not a solution. I'm just thinking, they ended up like this so badly and I think some country are also behind on this one maybe putting too much sanctions and pressure to the current administration is too much, a lot of people are suffering because of this and instead of helping them some country still don't want to. I know their government is corrupt of course, People in Venezuela just need some help from a real people so they can finally win against their corrupt government.

You can't blame the sanctions for their current state. Venezuela was in a shitty state even before the sanctions were imposed. The currency was worth less than the paper on which it was printed and even essential items were going out of stock in the supermarkets. The sanctions were triggered due to irregularities and vote rigging during the 2018 Venezuelan presidential election, which Nicolás Maduro claims to have won.
3129  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Shit Hits the Fan: Australia joins US, India and Japan in Naval Exercise on: October 26, 2020, 04:58:42 AM
Let's just look at the most talked about US company in 2020 - Tesla. Xpeng is being sued by Tesla for blatant theft of IP via USB thumb drives where source code was transferred by previous employees. This is not like where former VPs of on auto company like GM go to work for another company like Ford. In that an employee can take ideas and trend, not actually licensed knowledge. Tesla's case is currently waiting to go to trial. Although innocent until proven guilty, this is consistent with how Chinese corporations have worked for 30 years. Why reinvent the wheel when you can steel somebody else's bike.

LOL.. so you're saying that it is easy for someone to carry USB drives to the Tesla office, copy the data from their servers and then carry it outside? If that is the case, then the blame should be placed on Tesla and not on the Chinese hackers. That means that their security and surveillance system was pathetic. If they can't keep their innovations and data secure, then they don't deserve the ownership to those innovations.
3130  Economy / Economics / Re: China is looking to get rid of the US dollar on: October 26, 2020, 04:48:35 AM
US dollars are valuable since they get the Petrodollar deal with the Middle Eastern nations. As the world expands its economy and energy into other forms, the oil will decrease in proportion. For the US dollar to stay strong, they will need to find a place to liquidate their currency.
A common currency is a good idea, and now I see it as Bitcoin. It has global liquidity, is limited in quantity, and is community-owned.

In the distant future, we may witness another fiat currency replacing the USD as the world's reserve and trade currency. But I am sure that it is not going to be Bitcoin. I don't think that any of the countries would back a decentralized cryptocurrency to replace the USD. All the major powers want their own central bank currencies to overtake the USD, not some cryptocurrency.
3131  Other / Politics & Society / Re: All Christian Countries Got Fucked! on: October 26, 2020, 04:25:44 AM
I don't know where you are from but you should look at the difference between Christian and Catholics. Its obviously the Catholic that has the pope and influence over countries to which since the dawn of time, Roman Catholic had killed many lives even wipe out races. Which religion was it that was preached by the conquistadors from Spain?

Catholics have sided with Muslims in almost all the major conflicts. For example, in the Balkans (Bosnia, Kosovo, Krajina.etc), they were in alliance with the Muslims against the Orthodox Christians. Historically, European Catholics have regarded the pagans and Orthodox Christians as their main opponents, and have formed opportunistic alliances with the Muslims. And in many cases, these "opportunistic alliances" ended in a very bad state. For example, look at the current state of Catholics in Bosnia.

The case with Armenia-Azerbaijan is similar. Muslim countries such as Turkey and Pakistan are supporting Azerbaijan, just because the latter is Muslim. On the other hand, the Christian countries refuse to support Armenia, because they belong to a different sect.

Extremely tragic yet obvious, Chennai Super Kings have failed to qualify for the IPL 2020 playoffs race. However, time and age is an inevitable fact of life. Individuals simply expect a lot from Dhoni so it's very common those failed expectations came out as resulted hatred. Everyone is concerned the legendary captaincy of Dhoni however right ahead If he keeps on playing he will be analyzed against principles that the he himself set in and will be criticized & trolled. Time for CSK to have another skipper and new arrangement of players.

New skipper? The real owner of CSK, N Srinivasan has already announced that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will remain as the captain of CSK for the next 3 years. So I am not expecting much change in the squad for the next 2-3 seasons. The only difference is that the majority of the players were 35 plus this season and the next season the average age will be even higher (when Harbhajan.etc return).
3133  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal to allow cryptocurrency buying, selling and shopping on its network on: October 26, 2020, 04:03:13 AM
i heard all they are going to do is hold it on paxos exchange.... so if paxos gets hacked( probably a big target considering itll be paypals(mainstreams) btc holding spot) paypal takes no responsiblilty for your losses...... i think this isnt going to last long once news gets out, unless they change things and maybe take some liability.

Do you have any proof for this? I don't think that they will be stupid enough to store their coins in some shitty exchange, after all the exchange robberies and hacks we had in the past. But I know one thing for sure. For PayPal, insuring the cryptocurrency deposits is not going to be a big thing. They have billions of $$$ in cash reserves and even if all of their coins get hacked, they can easily reimburse their users (unlike the cryptocurrency exchanges).
3134  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10-21] Breaking: PayPal Goes Bitcoin, Ethereum And More on: October 26, 2020, 03:52:28 AM
@condoras. Are you telling everyone it is good because you like to trust Paypal in holding your coins for you?

Also, paypalcoin is not an assumption. Every bitcoin in there is only a representation that you hold bitcoin, however, it is controlled by Paypal.

Obviously if they are not allowing the users to export or view the private key, then it becomes something like Tether. Rather than owning Bitcoin, you will be owning a token that is issued by PayPal. And PayPal claims that this token is backed up by Bitcoin. But it is too early to reach any conclusion. Right now they are going through the testing phase and the full implementation will be completed only by mid 2021. I hope that they will allow the users to view the private key and to keep backup of it.
3135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin transaction fees be too high in the future? on: October 26, 2020, 03:39:08 AM
Electrical charges would diminish additional time with practical energy, It will turn out to be more effective, exchange limit would increment taking into consideration more trouble could drop, and so on bitcoin increment too high then I think the exchange expense will likewise increment. Yet, if at any point the excavators will mined all the bitcoins I think there will be an adjustments in exchange expense, possibly it will getting lower even the estimation of bitcoin increment.

The increase in hash rate and thereby increased requirement for electrical power will neutralize any advantage that will be gained from the reduction in electrical charges. Also, I don't know for how long this PoW system will remain viable. Already more than 1% of all the available electricity generation in the world is being used to mine Bitcoins. In the future, this is going to increase even further.
3136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 26, 2020, 03:29:20 AM
Before the match i picked RR to win the match in the IPL fantasy but when MI went on to put 195 runs with some impressive power hitting by Hardik Pandya and i thought it is impossible for RR to chase this total but even though they lost the wickets they kept the run rate and then Ben Stokes just proved his worth and i am glad to see Sanju Samson staying till the end.

Rather than good batting from the RR players, it was poor bowling from the Mumbai Indians which shifted the momentum in favor of the former. They have great bowlers such as Bumrah and Boult. But the problem with them is that they are not consistent. Boult got 4 wickets in the previous match, and he was looking quite average in this one. And the lack of a quality spinner is hurting MI. They need someone like Chahal of RCB or Ashwin of DC.
3137  Economy / Speculation / Re: COVID-19 Vaccine Will Cause Bitcoin Crash on: October 26, 2020, 03:18:16 AM
Yes, that's going to happen but I also see one reason why bitcoin did not crash during the current times is because we have big investors, it's not really that we have volume of investors, we have big investors who are putting big money that they can still survive despite of the pandemic, and since they are in control, this market would not dump unless they'll manipulate.

We had the block reward halving around 5 months ago. So ideally the exchange rates would have gone up, rather than crashing. But that never happened, probably as a result of the economic downturn brought by the COVID 19 pandemic. With the impact of the pandemic weaning off, we can expect the prices to move upwards in the coming months. On top of that we have good news, such as the PayPal adoption.
3138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: October 26, 2020, 03:08:26 AM
That's not what happened in 2016. People who keep talking about 'shy Trump voters' are trying to sell you snake oil. The polls were off in a few states four years ago because they under sampled white voters white voters without college education. There was also not as much money invested in quality polling in those rust belt states that Trump barely won because they were considered deep blue states that weren't in contention. This time around there is more polling and they've also adjusted their sampling of demographics that were underrepresented in the last election.

Well... this may be true. I don't think that Trump is in the same position in the rust belt states, as he was in 2016. He has a lot of support in the suburban areas and from white women. The rural and male voters are with him, but most of the other demographic groups have shifted to Democrats. To put it frankly, I don't think that he'll be able to carry any of the rust-belt states this time.
3139  Economy / Speculation / Re: COVID-19 Vaccine Will Cause Bitcoin Crash on: October 25, 2020, 06:23:40 PM
There could be an effect once the vaccine is announce available, but it should not be for the bad of bitcoin that will result to crash, that's a wrong assumption IMO as good news usually bring positive result to crypto.

If the economy recovers and more jobs are created, then definitely people will be left with more money in their hand. And a small fraction of it may end up in investing in cryptocurrencies. And during the last few days, there have been a lot of good news as far as the vaccine is concerned. The British government has issued a statement, claiming that the mass vaccination may start there within the next two months.
3140  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal to allow cryptocurrency buying, selling and shopping on its network on: October 25, 2020, 06:11:41 PM
The only problem that I encounter with Paypal is that it holds my funds for days just like what happens to my co-workers. However, it's a good thing that Bitcoin is being adopted by a well-known platform which also proves more of its legitimacy. It only proves that Bitcoin could still be adopted no matter what the market situation is.

Probably by now, PayPal has realized that Bitcoin is not its competitor. Rather than being used as a mode of payment, more and more people are using it as a speculative investment asset. And this is the reason why PayPal has allowed Bitcoin in its platform. For Bitcoin, this adoption by PayPal is definitely beneficial. It gives us access to hundreds of millions of new users.
