3141  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Tornado cash and others mixers on: July 05, 2023, 04:47:42 AM
Tornado cash was based in the Netherlands. Chipmixer was based in Vietnam. Both of these countries will comply with whatever the United States wants them to do. Both of these mixers were used by North Korean hackers so they had a big target on their back from U.S. law enforcement. The U.S. was not going to allow these mixers to provide their service to a country that they see as an enemy, allowing them to bypass their sanctions.

If that's true, I wonder how long will Sinbad mixer will last, it's also used by north korean hackers however the dev is quite confident of his anonymity.

Quote
As for whether Mehdi himself might be identified, indicted, arrested, or sanctioned, he told WIRED he remains relatively confident about his own fate. He shared a long list of cryptocurrency mixing services on the forum BitcoinTalk, pointing out that relatively few have faced those outcomes. "It would be silly not to worry about it at all. I take all the necessary precautions to protect my anonymity," he wrote—notably, prior to Elliptic's revelation that Sinbad and Blender may be connected—but he added that "I expect to remain part of the market and not become one of the unfortunate exceptions."

3142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vanity Bitcoin Address Generator: Personalized Bitcoin Addresses for Branding on: July 05, 2023, 04:33:51 AM
I recently checked my decade old blockchain.info wallet, there my btc addy starts with '1Libert..", I dunno if I generated it using vanity address generator or was just a coincidence.
3143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 04, 2023, 04:02:25 AM
I used to gamble (just quit it, never felt like going back), it made my mind restless. Even if you do it for fun, there comes a time when you feel like making income from it, it's just stupid.
3144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best NFT marketplaces? on: July 04, 2023, 03:50:37 AM
I have tried both, Opensea and Rarible. Experience on Rarible was horseshit, I was trying to sell some nft, it didn't get sold, gave couple tries because everything looked proper, it still didn't, wasted good amount of gas money (back then ethereum was at around 4k afaik). Tried contacting customer support, after month and up they replied that too no proper follow up and asking me to send email again.

Since then I have been only using Opensea and it's been serving me well.
3145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Verified twitter, telegram account is the strong point for a new project? on: July 04, 2023, 03:31:05 AM
What's telegram verified? And regarding Twitter verified accounts, it's now purchasable and even if it were not there would be farmers who would sell verified accounts.

Answer to the topic, It doesn't matter much, ain't no way this would help with project's legitimacy.
3146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How big is your optimism for crypto investment? on: July 03, 2023, 04:38:11 AM
I'm highly optimistic. Returns you get in cryptocurrencies is unparalleled. This optimism from survey members might also be influenced due to halvening that's coming, experienced investors know what happens then.
3147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoin for bitcoin on: July 03, 2023, 04:35:18 AM
Not sure if I get this correctly, we have bitcoin itself why do you want stablecoin pegged to btc then? If nation already has fiat, would they create stable coin pegged to that fiat?

3148  Other / Meta / Re: Poll on solving the imgur issue on: July 02, 2023, 04:29:49 AM
So when is poll result is going to be implemented?
3149  Other / Meta / Re: Can someone please tell me what happened with all these dead image links of old? on: July 02, 2023, 04:28:49 AM
Users who cared for their posts already migrated to other image hosting or some other solutions so their posts do not look out of context.   But, this is not enough, most images still remain untouched and is not good solution for forum thats's old as this.
3150  Other / Meta / Re: Keeping old and new Topics alive on: July 02, 2023, 04:12:42 AM
When duplicate topic is posted, there would be at least one member remarking that similar topic already exist and it'd be better to just post there despite this members keep creating new posts in this new topic and ignoring old one. I'm sure such topics are reported as well but are rarely deleted, dunno what's mod's take on that one.
3151  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best opportunity to harvest your hodl results? on: July 01, 2023, 04:46:13 AM
Diversify; where? Crypto, land/real estate, stocks and in metals and some liquid in fiat to take advantage of opportunities that come unexpectedly.
3152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reborn or legacy of Bitcointalk – looking for ideas on: July 01, 2023, 04:34:01 AM
There was an idea to make a fully or partially decentralized social network with profiles and a rating system, convenient web3 authorization, a private messenger, where you can also comment or suggest ideas, projects, look for like-minded people and contribute to the crypto community together, conduct Bounty and Airdrop and other activities from the current platform. The last point can be given special attention, making them functionally like Zealy and its analogues.
So that the news feed platform is not empty at first, we can parse popular tweets from crypto Twitter accounts and sort them into categories: Bitcoin, Altcoins, NFT, web3 and others using artificial intelligence tools.

See gm.xyz, it's on ethereum and does few things you mentioned which are: web3 login, profiles and rating system, private messenger and communities.

There is also hive.blog, I personally find this project heavily underrated. It does many things already that web3 communities are trying to achieve.
3153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🎲 UBET 🎲 sports betting platform ❤️ Try out web3 decentralized sports betting on: June 30, 2023, 04:57:55 AM
Fyi, discord link on your website is expired. One that shows up when you click on 'info' button [1].

Also, Testnet faucet on website itself would have been much more convenient than manual transfers on discord. Wanted to try out platform, requested testnet funds on your discord, now gotta wait until someone does so. This is shame for web3 casino, even tho it may sound like I'm exaggerating.

3154  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why do you still want to play fake web2 casinos? Why we choose web3 casinos on: June 30, 2023, 04:30:49 AM
It's not about web 2.0 or web3, for me the most important thing is that the provider is trusted, the deposit and withdrawal process doesn't take long, customer support available every need, game, uptime its more importan for me. Web3 might be considered better in terms of transaction speed, however, i think all providers have rules such as minimal confirmation for deposits, and the withdrawal process may not be done instantly, even though in fact it already supports web3.

Arbitrum network on which just.bet runs on is a fast blockchain, you can make your transactions nearly instant by going 'aggressive' setting in metamask. Despite this, I wouldn't use this casino because even the cents as gas fees add up and become good amount one day.

Any web3 casino where you are required to pay gas fee is useless imo. However, web3 casino on fee-less blockchain is better than web2 casinos due to security it would provide to your funds but here or any other platform which requires gas fee for each task to perform, it's not so.
3155  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: June 29, 2023, 02:35:05 PM
I don't think digital money will ever obliterate paper money. For the record, first you will need electronic device to use digital money, in first world countries, may be everyone would have it but there are nations where you look at population and you just hear resounding 'No' to the question asked in topic.

3156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning]: Super Mario 3: Mario Forever game contains Trojan, crypto stealer on: June 29, 2023, 02:23:14 PM
are few people seeking for crack version of those games to avoid maybe the fees. But they didn't consider the risk like this that's why other realize late on what action they have done. This is constant reminder that we should download the legitimate games or other apps to legitimate source so that our computers will not compromise by any harmful malwares that can affect us or steal our crypto stored on our computers.
This one hit me hard because I used to download cracked version of games in the past. I've this question that I've been wanting to ask for a while and I feel there's no better time than now to ask. if one uses a hardware wallet to access crypto funds from a malware infected desktop or laptop, is the person's crypto wallet at the risk of being compromised? Though, I don't do that anymore and my system is in good state but I wish to know for learning purpose.

From my knowledge, hardware wallets are comparatively more secure than hot wallets on an infected pc, your hot wallet would get drained in an instant. With HW, malwares can at most change destination address you are transferring to hence getting funds into their wallets rather than where you intended to.
3157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Imtoken Amazing Feature on: June 29, 2023, 02:13:38 PM
This is lit! This feature alone will make me use imtoken if I ever run out of funds and want to swap. More wallets need to implement this. Cowswap exchange also allows to pay via token you are exchanging from (in some pairs) and I love it there.
3158  Other / Meta / Re: How do you like the idea? on: June 29, 2023, 03:58:42 AM
Nah, this be like jerking off merit source to get merit. But, I like the one hosted by OgNasty linked in first comment (was lazy to translate other one), do fun things and giveaway merits, that sounds good.  Grin

I hardly see merit giveaway in this forum.
@OgNasty is doing one, but I haven't come across any of that but I know of @Deadsea, he's really helping out newbies and other users who care to join, but to rap it up, all merit source are really trying their best to make things move smoothly in this Forum and is not easy as we think when they start doing their thing. I Still give maximum respect to them all.

During my stay here, there have been plenty, you just gotta keep eye out for them.
3159  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 28, 2023, 04:19:55 AM
That's rich, coming from a centrally controlled premined shitcoin that sold out on it's Unique Selling Point the moment it benefited the creator and his rich friends.
I don't know truth of your statements but I try to imagine crypto ecosystem without ethereum and it appears really dull.
Maybe you should read up on the history of the biggest shitcoin before shilling or even touching it.

Maybe you should try to imagine crypto ecosystem without Ethereum as well? Oh wait, maybe no need to, as I think my presumption was right.

I presume you don't use ethereum dapps otherwise you would understand how cumbersome it would be to login with web2 login system in those.
So you're saying the shitcoin created something that can't be used without the shitcoin? Big surprise!

Let's look it up again:

Dapps are a growing movement of applications that use Ethereum to disrupt business models or invent new ones.
This is literally the same BS as the ICO hype that made some people so much richer while many gullible people lost their money.
It hasn't "disrupted" anything. Look it up before still shilling for this 6 years later!

How's that? Ethereum brought smart contracts on which defi, nft, dexes, gaming, insurance protocols and other dapps rest on.

Web3 have nothing to do with bitcoin as far as I know, it's only related with worthless shitcoins and it doesn't have any real use case in real world..

Wow! Bitcointalk is really filled with Bitcoin maxis.

You seem like the typical shitcoin shill: attacking the messenger instead of responding to his post. I guess you can't show a real use case in the real world.

You are doing same, follow what you preach.
