2261  Local / India / Re: what do you think about pi? on: June 27, 2023, 05:50:16 AM
Scam. Aside from kyc, I wouldn't be surprised if they are harvesting user data on name of mining.
2262  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [free to join] My second contest : win a wonderful Bitbox from Shiftcrypto !!! on: June 27, 2023, 05:02:51 AM
Completed and I'd like to choose & invite @TheUltraElite as my partner, hopefully he competes the survey  Tongue
2263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XLM - yes or no? on: June 27, 2023, 04:48:26 AM
I'e completely ignore YouTube if I'm looking for investment advise. Yet, I would expect few X whenever bulls arrive, xlm is not a bad coin per se.
2264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recommend me altcoin to DCA till halving on: June 27, 2023, 04:45:59 AM
Solana, Hive, Atom, Osmo, axelar, zz. Pretty bold from me but I use platforms these coins are native to and I believe they will do good in bulls. Good luck!
2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which campaign is better? Bounty campaign or Signature campaign? on: June 27, 2023, 04:42:42 AM
Signature campaigns are best imo, I remember several projects just cause they were advertised here, the catchy the signature design, the better. Social media bounties are worthless, they are spammy and gives bad impression to project, avoid it at all costs.

2267  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 26, 2023, 01:41:38 PM
Honestly, I'd love to have alternative login system like this, in addition to the current one, so people can choose as per their preference. But, I'm not sure if there are Bitcoin web3 wallets like metamask.
But which can not happen. Let us wait for 2FA implementation on this forum if you need additional layer of protection. A for me, I am use to the old way to login and it is perfect for me if 2FA is added.

This wouldn't be a way to protect account, it would just allow user to login with wallet.

Web3 is the answer to this dilemma. Instead of a Web monopolized by large technology companies, Web3 embraces decentralization and is being built, operated, and owned by its users. Web3 puts power in the hands of individuals rather than corporations.

That's rich, coming from a centrally controlled premined shitcoin that sold out on it's Unique Selling Point the moment it benefited the creator and his rich friends.

I don't know truth of your statements but I try to imagine crypto ecosystem without ethereum and it appears really dull.

Reminder: "Anything that can be done without a blockchain, should be done without a blockchain."

I presume you don't use ethereum dapps otherwise you would understand how cumbersome it would be to login with web2 login system in those.

Web3 have nothing to do with bitcoin as far as I know, it's only related with worthless shitcoins and it doesn't have any real use case in real world..

Wow! Bitcointalk is really filled with Bitcoin maxis.

Currently, it seems that sites that implement web3 technology are popular. This site connect wallet to login. Is it possible if bitcointalk also adopts such a system in the future? maybe it will be more interesting if we can log in with a bitcoin wallet

Email is more convenient though, since these days almost everyone have one in order to use some feature on their smartphone. Meanwhile new cryptocurrency user and some security-conscious person are unlikely to have hot wallet installed on their device.

I find creating wallet convenient, and it doesn't require any information to create one. Please don't blast saving of mnemonic and similar is hard thing to do.

Only if both buyer and seller agree to use escrow feature on Web3, which can be done without Web3 in first place.

Why would you not like it being automated? Although, I also think it's unnecessary for bitcointalk but still.

2268  Other / Meta / Re: How do you like the idea? on: June 26, 2023, 03:53:09 AM
Nah, this be like jerking off merit source to get merit. But, I like the one hosted by OgNasty linked in first comment (was lazy to translate other one), do fun things and giveaway merits, that sounds good.  Grin

Similar topic here. Honestly, I'd love to have alternative login system like this, in addition to the current one, so people can choose as per their preference. But, I'm not sure if there are Bitcoin web3 wallets like metamask.
2270  Other / Meta / Re: Offensive words on the forum on: June 25, 2023, 04:38:59 AM
I don't find 'nonsense' offensive, may be cause it wasn't directed at me. Nonetheless, despite having free speech, this forum doesn't have much offense in it, except this, ofc.
2271  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic problem, why is fiat difficult to hold. on: June 25, 2023, 04:11:44 AM
I agree, I find it hard to resist spending if I have money at hand — even tho my belly may be full, I still eat some fast food, or buy t-shirts, go to mall. When I was younger, I was better against these habits that have come upon me.

Also, I find it hard to keep track of cash purchases so have started to use online payments.
2272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in altcoins is a hedge over Bitcoin how true is this? on: June 24, 2023, 04:02:15 AM
Untrue, hedging with alts won't work as long as Bitcoin is king of market.
2273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How quick do altcoins pump in bull run? on: June 24, 2023, 03:56:25 AM
One altcoin I bought 2 weeks ago is currently up 85% - how do you resist the urge to sell too soon?

I am thinking of taking out half my investment when it reaches 120% but I'm also telling myself not to sell too soon  Undecided

Honestly I'd take part of investment already at this stage.

You know in 'selling too soon' I kept holding alt bags until they went to zero  Grin
2274  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Promotion methods. Dark & Bitcointalk? on: June 24, 2023, 03:27:39 AM
We are also interested in why Bitcoin mixers are advertised here and not on the dark web.

Bitcointalk is popular and bitcoin's birth place, if someone is looking for mixer, high chances they will come across bitcointalk in their searches.
2275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I Want to Trade My House for Some Bitcoins. on: June 23, 2023, 04:35:31 AM
Unnecessary risk if it's the only house you have to live and you will have to find other means to live under if you give it up.

Imo, I wouldn't ever give up basic necessities for potential profits. I'm pretty sure investment in Bitcoin at current time will yield you profits, but there are other risks including holding risk, after ledger and atomic wallet fiasco, I doubt security of wallets.
2276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy ETH as much as you can.... on: June 23, 2023, 04:30:12 AM
Exactly, I see high potential in ETH, and all these evm chains popping up to solve scalability issues of it are merely giving it more popularity. If you can't buy it, long it (1x will do, stay safe from liquidations) and leave it for couple years, hopefully exchange where you go long doesn't disappear  Tongue
2277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any airdrop hunters here need some leads on: June 22, 2023, 02:19:27 PM
Yeah, i've been dealing up on making huge points on Zealy on having to be able to get some airdrops in SUI but ending up on having none because the team had decided on having no airdrops on which lots of people

Zealy campaigns are too saturated, they are rarely worth anything, iirc sui had around hundred thousand participants, I wouldn't expect anything with these numbers.

...Best suggestion I can give is interact with dapps/protocols where you feel like doing so and leave rest.

In this case, the chance of receiving airdrop will be approaching zero. Only when interact with a large number of contracts will you have a real opportunity to receive a reward. And the amount of this reward will also depend on other factors that currently can only be known to the project team.

I meant in a way that there would be less disappointment.

Cheers 🥂, Dr.Bitcoin_Strange 👺👺
I don't know what you mean by that. I can already see your name on your profile board. Is that not enough?

Maybe because his name is Dr.Bitcoin_Strange and not Dr Strange. I skimmed through Bitcoin word first time too.
2279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How free crypto wallet devs make money ? on: June 22, 2023, 07:40:12 AM
From integrations (coin/token/exchange/on-ramp, etc.). Although in the start, you would have to do some free servicing until your product gets popular enough and people start reaching you out.
2280  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Apart from "OP" any other slag every beginner needs to know? on: June 22, 2023, 06:39:53 AM
OP is an interesting one. Many years ago, I thought it meant 'opening post', so I was confused why most people referred to the thread starter as OP. It made no sense to me until I realized that OP is 'original poster'.

Both are right, Op = original post(er).
