3141  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: January 16, 2016, 11:50:47 PM
Can anybody confirm their Cryptsy BTC balance? I cannot at this present time, gives me a zero balance. :/

Hello?

Wake up buddy - it's gone.  Over.  Goodbye.

http://blog.cryptsy.com/

They have updated it, read!

"It wasn’t until an article from Coinfire came out that contained many false accusations that things began to crumble.   The article basically caused a bank-run, and since we only had so much in reserves for those currencies problems began."

You guys called it!  It was all COINFIRE's fault!  /s

Wonder if the volume on Livecoin is real? Where has this exchange come from to erupt like this?

Livecoin is totally legit.  Poloniex is a scam.

Everyone should move their BTC and DASH to Livecoin and trade there!

Why don't you be a nice guy and congratulate the DASH team and community on a job well done and a very nice price rise?

Because I remember when Willy, Karpeles's pet bot, used fake notional fiat to push the price of BTC to $1200.

http://www.coindesk.com/bot-named-willy-did-mt-goxs-automated-trading-pump-bitcoin-price/

And Livecoin isn't half as legitimate as Gox.  At least we knew who ran Gox, and he was one of us (MagicalTux).

The real question is why you aren't being appropriately skeptical and cautious about some random exchange suddenly appearing and pumping an instamined soda machine coin with "bad crypto" up 45% in four days.

Hence my obligtory tounge-in-cheek "seems legit" posts.  Even Bigrcanada got the joke, FFS.  What is your malfunction?  Conflict of interest?

Your understanding of SegWit is flawed, deeply.

Shhh...let the anti-segwit Toomincoiners FUD to their hearts' content.  Tell them they are right.

Anything that helps sow disagreement and controversy in the enemy camp is to be encouraged.   Wink

I don't understand why the mining pools suddenly have changed opinion?

I thought they were OK with seg wit + other fixes in the future.

Nope - they never were.  ALL Lying propoganda.  They delete and censor antyhing they don't like.  I've had 3 posts deleted from this discussion already.

I know for a fact that they didn't like BIP101.
And I know Andreas has said nice things about SegWit.

Gavin and several other ToominCoiners also said nice things about SegWit.  That's inevitably going to create rifts in the _Classic community.   Smiley

It's hard to be against paying technical debt, especially if doing so resolves the tx malleability problem, especially if you are a merchant/payment provider.

This is a self-moderated thread.  You've had the exact same altcoin advertisment deleted four five times.  Start your own thread and stop posting here.

Hearn's Avengers don't want to develop their own coin anymore than the XT and Unlimited hosers did.

They want to hijack Core, repurpose its roadmap to suit Coinbase's business markitecture requirements, and still expect Core's devs to keep working.

Adam Back is wrecking _Classic on twitter.  His best point so far is that _Classic is self-defeating, in that if its tyranny of the majority succeeds in taking out Core it necessarily takes Bitcoin's (experiment in) antifragility with it.

Then there is the fact _Classic is saying such stupid things it makes the small block militia's job easy....

@adam3us I'm willing to risk it all purely on principle and the faith that there will be developers even if there aren't many now.

Principle and Faith® will save _Classic from Evil Core!  You read it here first!

This new generation of TumorBlocker lolcows is even more unintentionally hilarious than our beloved old herd of XT and Unlimited Gavinistas.

I guess we have to thank Hearn's timely, high-profile martyrdom for agitating the Tooministas into such an incoherent froth.   Cheesy

Well, really? No one(at least for me) really cares about Bitcoin Classic or whatever you call it.
Why don't you people who support Bitcoin Classic develop your own coins if you really want a 2MB blocksize? :O

I think the fact that Cryptsy finished selling their coins 450K+ DASH sold over the last year took a lot of artificial sell pressure out of the market

Is it known that the coins were sold ? (As opposed to yet to be sold).

I think you were trying this trolling angle yesterday as well.

Of course they weren't mixed on Dash's blockchain, because Masternode Blinding is still a 'work in progress' or whatever.

Mixing 450k Dash-coins with Darksend would take at minimum 2^7688 years.  The last quark would decay into strings and branes eons before they finished.

The only alternative is using cross-chain mixing via different exchanges, which is exactly what your post illustrates.

Any proof the coins went to different owners, or are you just assuming the hackers didn't sell to themselves as a cross-chain mixing/plausible deniability scheme?

75% is higher than the majority needed to change the constitution in most parliamentary democracies.

You think that matters in a consensus-critical distributed ledger?

That's adorable!   Smiley
3155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavineries on: January 16, 2016, 08:23:14 PM

For 18 months Cryptsy failed to report to law enforcement the fact they had been robbed and disclose they are insolvent, instead choosing to operate on a fraudulent fractional reserve basis.

Now the site is gone entirely, leaving 100s of angry Goxed customers in its wake.

Small wonder Team_Classic has thrown Marshall Long down the memory hole and removed his name from their esteemed roster, which includes renowned devs like Peter Rizun.
3156  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blocksize needs to be increased now. on: January 16, 2016, 08:05:48 PM
core with segwit is still fantasyware - they are testing it, yes, but there is a long way to go before even the most reckless development manager would consider it production ready.  The market wants commitment on capacity now, not a vague, ever shifting promise of it in the future.

That is the essential difference between classic and core ( + whatever dream additions you like)

How is it possible that segwit is being tested if it is "fantasyware?"

Oh I see, you are defining anything not yet in production as "fantasyware."

How typically dishonest of you.

When _Classic launches 2MB blocks, the "fantasyware" now being tested will come in handy, as _Classic is immediately softforked with 2MB+8MB segwit blocks (which will create a support/logistical nightmare for anyone brave enough to be among the first defectors from Core's socioeconomic majority.

Speaking of Brian Armstrong, his latest tweet is comedy gold.  He's as valuable to Team _Classic as their conveniently memory-holed Cryptsy scammer!

3157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Analysis and list of top big blocks shills (XT #REKT ignorers) on: January 16, 2016, 07:25:05 PM
This was an execllent thread, but fees a bit like beating a dead horse at this point. This trojan was a failure, next is Bitcoin Classic. I can't wait for the next Classic #REKT thread.

We're all giddy with anticipation for that.

But first, Team _Classic have to implode from irreconcilable differences of opinion with regard to their hard fork's timing/threshold and inclusion/exclusion of controversial features like bandwidth throttling, CLTV, RBF, SegWit, Lightning, sidechains, future increases, etc.

The Tooministas are still enjoying their honeymoon.  Give them a few weeks for the grim realities of software engineering and committee-based decision making to throw a wrench in their gears.

When they realize they are painting the Bikeshed from Hell, we can start laughing as _Classic gets #REKT.   Smiley
3158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, which is better? Monero or Dash? on: January 16, 2016, 07:10:30 PM
Monero's technology has always been better than Dash's "bad crypto."

And now we're about to lap them:

It seems like Shen is going full steam ahead! Some updates regarding Ring Confidential Transactions for Monero:

Quote
edit 1/9/2016: Looks like its fully funded! Thanks to everyone who funded - I've started the work (https://github.com/ShenNoether/MiniNero/commit/9ede58897808bee784dab296654b99899a58c109), and I will be posting updates here for the next two weeks as I work on this, rather than updating both here and the stickied reddit post.

edit 1/13/2016: MG sigs + demo are done (git clone https://github.com/ShenNoether/MiniNero.git, cd brief, make, a.exe (or a.out depending on system)). Most of the helper functions are there, so the rest should go a little bit quicker. Also fixed a tiny bug in Monero's keccak function.

edit 1/14/2016: ASNL + demo are done. (https://github.com/ShenNoether/MiniNero/commit/88b2d93e137bd5a2e2a2700ac11136705bd463c5) I will probably do some additional checks on these and the MG sigs once I get everything finished, however they are working as expected now.

edit 1/15/2016: spent an all nighter getting a rough version of all the code finished - I will most likely clean it up, and then make it available early next week.

Hdbuck appears to be stuck in his own dogma. Like many he drank the maxwellhouse koolaid but because he is also particularly abrasive and closeminded hes been on my ignore list for a while along with brg and icebreaker.

I am pleased to be on jonald's ignore list, because I despise hypocrisy.

What kind of person whines about others being "abrasive" after writing abrasive posts like these?

Fuck you and die.
you're a goddman fool
Fuck your politics and personalities
get your head out of your arse
Many drank the Maxwellhouse Koolaid
and are waking up from the stupor.

There is a special place in Hell for people like jonald.

I blame his parents.  They should be slapped across the face by everyone on earth for raising such an intolerable brat and inflicting him on the rest of the planet.
