3141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Another exchange goes bust. Bitcurrex loses ~2300 BTC on: October 27, 2016, 09:57:31 PM

http://www.razor-forex.com/2016/10/polish-exchange-bitcurex-looses-2300.html

The hack (?) took place on 13 October, they blame 3rd party interference in their data systems, in their statement they don't use term 'hack' or 'theft' but 'damage to the IT systems'.

Site is down with vague statement and some service opt out/refund request form https://bitcurex.com/ (in Polish)

Their official btctalk thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=792350.0
3142  Other / Meta / Re: [Howto] sell my bitcointalk account on: October 27, 2016, 03:30:27 PM

I think his account is already sold to another user because it is recently changed his password.
Likely so. Good spot. But maybe he just didn't want to share his primary email address and password with the escrow/buyer so changed it before selling.

A senior member that don't know how to sell account is not convincing. He just bought it too.

I don't see anything weird in senior not knowing much about account trading, and if he had just bought the account, he would know how to sell it (just reverse the action, do what the previous seller did).

3143  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ***CEX.IO Bitcoin Exchange *** Margin Trading Launched *** on: October 27, 2016, 01:03:50 PM
after open service margin trading
open lending service too or not, same with poloniex and bitfienx open servise lending too

Lending service is the borrowing operation which is an automatic process and a part of our Margin trading at CEX.IO. Unlike other services it is more convenient and easier to use as, first of all you don't need to create an separate account and secondly, all the calculations are done automatically which makes it optimal for one's use.

Poloniex offer both margin trading and lending. It's also fully automated, lenders set their interest rates and duration, and borrowers (those who place margin trading orders) are automatically provided with the cheapest loans available (they can also set max interest % they're willing to pay).

Interest rates are set by free market (supply/demand), and Poloniex take fees from the lenders' interest earned. Pretty neat system.

Not sure what you mean by needing to create separate account.

If you were to go that route and allow P2P lending, your commission on each order would go down massively. Currently you charge 0.2%, compared to 0.003% Poloniex take (current lending rates of 0.02% x 15% Poloniex fee). But that would likely attract more users, pump up the volume and allow free market to decide on rates (so you don't have to monitor and adjust to competitors) + you won't have to engage your own funds.
3144  Other / Meta / Re: [Howto] sell my bitcointalk account on: October 27, 2016, 12:44:12 PM
So, do i need to make a new (newbie) account in order to sell my old account?

Probably too late for that. You've already expressed your intention and you've already been 'tagged' by Chris! (check your trust). This reduces the value of your account, as most signature campaign managers wouldn't accept newly bought accounts (they can't judge post quality knowing that posts were made by different person).
3145  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive Income on: October 27, 2016, 11:20:58 AM
Passive incomes or most likely ponzis and hyips are definitely scams this day. I don't trust that kind of investment. I'd rather work hard to earn my money than let those sites take my money away without any reasons.

Passive income is a broad term. There are plenty of legit ways to earn it. It doesn't even have to involve investing any funds, i.e. you could invest some time in promoting worthy business and earn referral commission, if you're lucky you could earn decent money with zero own capital involved.

And it's not like it's one or the other, you could work hard and earn some extra passive income the same time.

I get my passive income from signature campaigns. I reinvest it in trading Bitcoin/Altcoin to earn more income.

Signature campaign earnings are only passive if you would post with the same intensity without wearing signature. Probably a case only for very few signature campaign participants.
3146  Economy / Gambling / SafeDICE.com ★ Bitcoin Dice ★ Monero ★ 0.5% Edge ★ Fast Cashout ★ Since 2014 on: October 27, 2016, 09:47:43 AM
I say safedice is a scam. They stole 6$ plus they having not been giving me commission for a referral. To me this is the worst dice site along with fair bets

contact admin he will fix it.

I did and still nothing. Been over a month. Not cool

Yeah, looks like they've been operating for years with good history just to lure you in and scam you out of $6. Makes sense.

But seriously, if you emailed them and got no response then shame on them, but you should just try again. Are you sure the fault is not on your end? Is the deposit address shown on your account the same as the one you used to send those $6? Maybe you just created new account after depositing, that could happen if you haven't set up proper username and password the first time.

Can you post your username and tx id?

And what kind of issues are you having with referral commission? You won't earn anything if the users referred only bet few sats each bet (but you would see them in your referral list).
3147  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Polish-registered recyclix.com is provably a Ponzi scheme on: October 27, 2016, 09:02:47 AM
Besides from missing your second point (1, 3, 4...)  Lips sealed

Your forth point is wrong; the company is running a Ponzi scheme, they literally state so themselves...

Sorry, but "may use" is just a hint and not a proof, that they are using. And a lot of companies do the same from time to time without being ponzi. Just when the "business model" works mainly in this way, you have a ponzi.

The way the business allegedly works, is that you deposit money and buy actual waste in real time (which is completely infeasible by the way). They can't give themselves a right to use your money for any other purpose. That's illegal in every civilised country.

You could defend them and say they just used a poor wording in their T&Cs, but afaik they've already admitted that they pay referral commission instantly (don't wait for the 'cycle' to end), so it's evident misuse of 'investors' deposits.
3148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain for President: How It Can Disrupt US Voting Machine on: October 26, 2016, 09:40:05 PM
This will not happen for a very long time, reason being who owns the voting machines in question.
Once you see Soros name you realize why they are being used and why people factor in elections being rigged.

http://www.lifezette.com/polizette/concern-grows-over-soros-linked-voting-machines/

Quote
Concern is growing over revelations that voting machines in a significant number of states could be linked to a company tied directly to billionaire leftist George Soros and his personal quest to create a nationless, borderless global state.

OP, I don't know how did you manage to write such article without mentioning ^^^this.

I also can't really see how blockchain voting could be implemented in practice. How would you know that the action you performed on voting machine/software was correctly recorded on the blockchain? Bear in mind that voting anonymity is crucial, you can't provide any sort of receipts to voters showing how they voted, because it would open the door for vote-buying.
3149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: completely new and need help please... on: October 26, 2016, 07:51:14 PM
I sense this kind of post can attract scammers, so OP, if someone sends you a private message offering "help" in getting your coins quickly and asks for your private keys or backup file, do not send them anything, just ignore or report to moderators as scam attempt.
3150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED on: October 25, 2016, 09:02:59 PM
Even if I think that there's a chance miners might ultimately destroy bitcoin, the fact they are now mostly from China is irrelevant. Greed doesn't have a nationality.

Said it before, I'll say it again. The fact that majority of hashing power is located in China, means that the government of China can take control over it with very little effort and in very short time.

I don't see this happening anytime soon, but if Bitcoin is still meant to be government/censorship resistant, then this is an issue.
3151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex Seeks Communication With Bitcoin Thief on: October 25, 2016, 08:12:22 PM
This is strange I can't understand Bitfinex owners,do they really expect from the hacker to show and communicate with them and then return the stolen funds?
This is never going to happen,Im sure that he has already mixed these coins, exchanged them into fiat and now enjoys a luxury life.

Well, it did work for BTER, after negotiations they got 85% of stolen NXT back from the hacker:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/exclusive-key-negotiator-in-bter-nxt-hack-speaks-out

If the story is true (could've been as well an inside job), then it was definitely worth it.

3153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex Seeks Communication With Bitcoin Thief on: October 24, 2016, 03:34:25 PM
There's no harm in trying. Bitfinex are trying to show that they're doing all they can to get the users' money back.

Chances are slim, but it's better than doing nothing. The hacker surely can mix all that bitcoins eventually, but he'll have a hard time laundering the money. If the "bounty" is high enough and if Bitfinex agrees not to press any charges, the offer could be very attractive to the hacker.

From the article:

Quote
If the hacker chooses this communication route, the two parties can discuss within any one of the “2072 addresses currently holding the bitcoins in question.”

Are these addresses publically known? Have the coins moved since the hack?

what will be the price per INC?

There's no fixed price. 85 million will be distributed proportionally to the amount raised.

Both are accepted afaik

We made the clearance of last week and sent the payments:

I received the last payment. Thanks.
I'm leaving the campaign though, as I got the spot in Bitmixer and they offer much better rates.

No minimum weekly number posts
Quote
- You must post in multiple sections of the forum during a whole week. People who make posts in short bursts will be permanently banned!

^ Self contradictory? If there are no minimum, then I'm OK to make just 1 post/week. How do I divide one post over multiple section and avoid being classed as 'short burst'?

Is there any unofficial, expected number of posts/week?

Quote
- Excluded sections Off-topic / Games and rounds / Alternate cryptocurrencies / Indonesian and this thread

1. How will you determine quality of non-English posts (other than disallowed Indonesian board)?
2. What about somewhat controversial 'Press' board, which generally is for sharing press hits. Every new topic is just copy/paste content - these are constructive (that's what that board is for) but don't require any personal input. Is it counted?

Side question:

Will you be looking for a reasons to ban any posters who openly criticise Core/Blockstream/BTCtalk censorship (constructive criticism, no name-calling)?

Side comment:

-snip
1) There is no power abuse here. I'm managing the campaign as a user, ergo in this case as a manager. Moderation has nothing to do with who I ban or don't ban from the campaign.
2) What you've just wasted your time on is called Ad Hominem, specifically poisoning the well (a logical fallacy). You've made zero arguments (pro or contra) to this cleanup.
3) Do not post in this thread again.

Maybe it's just me, but I find snipping post's content (and deleting said post) and then publicly replying to it in rather strong tone as a bit rude (not to say power-abusing).

Check out PolMiners signature campaign
It looks good and promising

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=785312.0

The rates are:

For Hero and Senior Members they pay :
0.25 BTC for a minimum of 50 posts per month

Full Members
0.15 BTC for a minimum of 50 posts per month

Members
0.05 BTC for a minimum of 50 posts per month

The downside (?) is they require the user make their own signatures

That's an obvious scam. Cloudmining, refused to escrow, payment after one month, highest rates, didn't even bother to design signatures.
Luckily they got called on it, locked thread and took down their site.

Side question: Have you got any bitcointalk signature campaign participants? If so, how many? If there are only few of them, will you still stick to the fixed 250k signature bounty? The reward could be disproportionately high for the effort.

Yes, campaigns stats here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZDwUJeTStAzD4QtxM2gqNSaXm5LgMRgKUU0OXs9vEBI
Because of the campaign will active before the end of ICO we awaiting more participants.

That's quite a lot of participants actually. I assumed there were only a few as I rarely see anyone with inchain's signature.
3159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] Inchain - insurance for the crypto economy on: October 21, 2016, 02:04:19 PM

Haven't followed this thread lately - have you managed to provide any proof of identity of any of the dev team? Perhaps any video interview etc?
Have you decided on escrowing funds? If so, any details?

Hi,

Yes, we already made 2 google hangouts, some fragment you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arYVrqo-ICI
Also, proof from Ambisafe: https://www.ambisafe.co/blog/inchain-announcement/

Next hangout is scheduled next Tuesday.

We have two escrow: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1623519.msg16364022#msg16364022

Thanks for replying.

The fact that you agreed on using escrow is reassuring. Have you already agreed on milestones, upon which the funds will be released?

Also, both escrow providers seem solid, but your minimum ICO goal is set at ~2,780 btc, that's 1,390 btc for each of them. Although they are (very) trusted, none of them have ever held funds even close to such amount. Are you going to use multisig or will you let them fully control the funds?

Side question: Have you got any bitcointalk signature campaign participants? If so, how many? If there are only few of them, will you still stick to the fixed 250k signature bounty? The reward could be disproportionately high for the effort.

1. It's not really up to what you think. It's Lutpin's negative rating because Lutpin got ripped off.
...

He has just expressed his opinion (just like you did just now) because that's what this thread is for. If Lutpin wasn't interested in community's judgement, he would've just left trust feedback without starting this thread (or locked it).

...
2. If I walked into your house and stole from you, you called me out on it and I gave it back, do you now trust me?

Comparing stealing physical goods with IP rights infringement sounds retarded 99% of the time. But I'll play along:

You stole something, got called on it, gave it back, apologised, promised not to do it anymore. Should you be jailed for the rest of your life, or should you be given a chance to compensate for your wrongdoing? If the latter, what (in your opinion) should Girlbtc.com do to have the negative removed?
