I can't believe the Bucks are going to let DeMarcus Cousins walk away a free agent. He was playing great for them. Much better than I expected. I guess he was just there to fill a roster spot during the covid restrictions. I'm curious who is going to pick him up now. Twitter is screaming at the Lakers to waive DeAndre Jordan and sign Cousins, but I don't see why they can't keep both... Likely Cousins will find a new home somewhere else. I think Chicago might be a decent home for him if he's still chasing a ring. Another stint with Golden State might not be a bad idea either. I'm sure someone will grab him quickly.
Checked the roster of the Chicago Bulls and yes they might want to grab Cousins as fast as they can. They need a center/forward to fill the shoes of Vucevic if they will be up against big men games. Vucevic is averaging 33 minutes per game and as a center that might be an exhausting number. If they will let Cousins in, they could give him a breather that could strengthen the rotation even on second stringers. They accept 10 days contract now, if its possible test him for that amount of time and if he performed good then give him a better contract. I don't know if Cousins will accept that kind of offer though. I think 10 days is not enough for a player to prove his worth on a team, so I agree that this kind of contract as just to fill in during the covid-19 restrictions and I doubt that teams are going to sign anyone for a long term or at least this season. But at the back of my mind, yeah, why not waive DJ and get Cousins? But still up to the Lakers management, they have traded Rondo already and it wouldn't hurt if they will get someone that can really contribute in the center position for the Lakers. Howard is really doing good, but DJ is something like a liability because he is too slow and can't even block shots anymore. I also don't think that 10 days is enough to see if a player fits in the squad or not. Also, it takes time to build team chemistry with your teammates. It took quite a long time for the star-stacked Lakers team to get the team chemistry right. So 10 days is obviously not enough. But I think that if they can get Cousins for DJ, that would be a great win and a great deal in favor of them and they will only get stronger with the addition of Demarcus Cousins. But one thing is that in this match, his field goal percentage was a bit lower compared to his other matches, so if he can work on his accuracy, that would be really good for him and the team as well. Best case scenario I think is going back to semi-bubble. Their re-opening on MOA arena on January 15th might be cancelled because of this surge . I'm not sure if they can go with a semi bubble setup where a bubble setup is safer. If they want to ensure that the season will not be stopped, they need to make sure players are not going home with their family, that's too risky as they don't know if whom they mingle with are already positive with this new omicron virus. Bubble might be the best one, it will also be safer than semi-bubble like what you have said. Moreover, to this, is there any update from the PBA if what will be the next step after cancelling all the games that supposedly scheduled inside NCR? I'm still positive that the league will find the fittest way to continue this season, they needed to work things out and make sure the safety of each individual who is participating around. We've been in this kind of situation before, it's not new to us so the PBA organization will eventually find a way to continue the pending conference. A bubble would be ideal, at least that will ensure that the maximum safety protocol is implemented and no one can enter in the venue except for the players and staff. I think that's basically the problem with all football. You take any player, especially a young one. They are bought but not put on the field, they have no match practice and then they go to an inferior club. Juventus are fine with strikers, no?

SA are in good position to retain there test supremacy on Asian Teams. India bowled out on 202 and SA for here on must score 300+ runs if they really wanna win this game. In first test, SA batting failed miserably in both innings. Let's see how they perform this time.
Since India lost all their wickets on the first day and South Africa scored 35 runs. They are just 16 runs behind. So I don't think this match will be a draw. We can see the result of this match. If South Africa finish their first innings at less than 300, the match will be under Indian control again. But if South Africa are at least 100 runs ahead, they will have a chance to win the match. India could have easily scored 100 more runs. Rahane and Pujara both had a disappointing inning. If Rahul could make his innings longer, it would've been quite nice.
But with the batting order, South Africa have, I think they will be able to manage a healthy lead but also India to have the bowling lineup to destroy any batting lineup within a blink of an eye.
Rahane could not play well. The team always expects more from a player like him. However, Kohli was replaced by Hanuman Bihari. His performance was not as expected. But they will probably bat more responsibly in the second innings |

Hearing rumours about Conor fighting Oliveria, which would be an absolute disgrace that he's even given the chance, but I actually think Conor would beat Oliveria. Simply, because Olvieria tends to start slow, and eats a lot of shots. You can't do that against Conor, and unless Oliveria goes for the take down right away, he would likely get finished in the first. Oliveria has shown he likes to stand toe to toe with fighters before taking them down to the ground which would be my concern about him. Hopefully, it doesn't happen because it would be a disgrace.
I'm thinking of putting a bet on Gane to win against Ngannou, and whatever the outcome is then I'd be happy since I quite like having Ngannou as the champion, and I'm not fully convinced of Gane yet, but considering the odds are 1.90 a piece Gane is actually a pretty decent bet I think. I expected smaller odds for him.
I also agree with you that Connor might win against Oliviera. As you said, Oliviera tends to start slow but it might cost him the match against Connor as Connor hits quite hard and he might even get KO'ed. So, unless Oliviera changes his approach strategy, I think that Connor will have the upper hand in the fight. But all in all, hoping for an entertaining match. |
