3141  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Volatility A Bad Thing? on: December 10, 2017, 12:35:29 PM
Steam dropped bitcoin support citing "high volatility" as a motive.

When amazon stock jumped from $18 to $1,200 over a period of years, was this high volatility a bad thing?

If bitcoin's value increases from $6,000 to $16,000 over a period of months, and HODL'ers benefit, this high volatility is bad?

Where does the idea of high volatility being an unnecessary evil come from?

Are there good arguments or evidence which support the concept of high volatility being a negative circumstance?

In a sense, volatility simply means the price of something moves a lot, its not that bad if the vast majority of motion is in an upward direction?

 Huh Huh Huh

high volatility is a normal thing in the market , cause crypto market was really small and we started to see a huge demand in the last month or so
it's not a bad thing and we are used to it cause we have been here for over 3 years , but newbies and biz owners may not like it
steam dropped bitcoin cause transactions are taking long time to verify with high fees , and they depend on fiat so they have to start refunding the extra bitcoin or ask for more ( cause when a person makes the purchase and it arrives after like 8 hours then for sure he either paid more or less for steam )

I was given a 1 week trial in the end of things, so I'll be making the bets on this tips they get, and recording my profit/loss in stakes, with counting each bet as 1 stake. Past outcomes don't guarantee future outcomes, but it should be a decent look into the quality and success of their tips. Cloudbet deposit still hasn't confirmed though :/

oh glad you got the trial mate , hopefully you can see the past results too and get some idea about how the site is doing
are you allowed to post the picks after the matches end ?? this also can help and maybe Hhampuz should do that
3143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sent bitcoin no confirmation after waiting more than 24 Hours on: December 09, 2017, 01:06:58 PM

With viabtc the trick is to try exactly when the counter resets every hour like 12:00, 13:00

Now, to your other question, it's simple.
The fee is low, and the others which payed a higher fee are having priority so your transaction place in the confirmation line is quite high.
But since tonight the number of tx waiting has dropped by 30k so you will get your spot.
That excangher charge me 0.002BTC (the only pay 0.0001BTC To Network)
Still 160K unconfirmed
https://blockchain.info/id/unconfirmed-transactions now 160Kuncofirmed

The exchange charged you 0.002 btc but they had only paid 0.000226 as a fee , that's why you are waiting a lot
it's the exchanger fault since they took from you 10 times more than what they actually paid

the network sucks these days and there are plenty of transactions , all you can do is to wait if you already tried ViaBTC accelerator
if not give it a shot , it may help you
3144  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for sportsbook investors on: December 09, 2017, 10:44:55 AM
try reaching out for the admins of gambling sites here cause they may be interested in your site
personally I don't know if it's worth it or not and if you are taking micro investments or only big investments
Why ? Why would they want one more competition to the already existing sites ? I mean would you invest in a website that is in a competition to take your money away ? I don't understand the co-relation.

no I wasn't talking about bookies owners , I was talking about casino admins that don't have sportsbetting yet
maybe they will be interested if the bookie was good and if OP was able to give them facts that the site can make decent profit
3145  Other / Archival / Re: [SportsBetting] Join 200 other members and Maximize your profits now! [OPEN] on: December 09, 2017, 10:39:03 AM
I'm waiting for the reviews from people here cause you haven't posted enough info , the 70% win rate isn't important at all since I can achieve over 80% win rate and still lose money  Grin
clearly you should post info about your ROI not win rate , and hopefully we can see the history of the picks too

if people approved that the picks are profitable  I would be more than happy to subscribe  but so far I have tried the best tipsters here and a site that offers paid tips , they all were -EV

if you really believe in your site and work then also launching an ICO may help for raising a bankroll , I guess ICO is your best shot actually
but still you need to convince investors that your site actually worth the investments
3147  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are the best Bitcoin casino sites that also accept altcoins? on: December 08, 2017, 08:18:22 PM
There are not much to choose from but as a novice gambler, what are the best Bitcoin gambling sites that also accept altcoins and what altcoins are accepted?

This information might be valuable in times when the Bitcoin mempool flooded and when one confirmation can take hours.

there are much actually that accept altcoins as all the people above suggested , it's easy to gamble your alts especially when you are not looking for a specific game cause of course the choices are way wider with bitcoin than other alts

but AFAIK there is no site that takes alts for sportsbetting , Betcoin accepts some alts but they do exchange it when you deposit to btc so after you deposit you have to gamble btc not alts

so there are some games for alts , but still not all types of gambling are available with alts
3148  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex absurd understanding of the services!!! on: December 08, 2017, 05:33:42 PM
this has been going for like 2 months now , bittrex is literally the worst crypto exchange these days
even some people in slack gets banned for asking them for help , also it seems that raging in twitter isn't helping at all too
so basically it seems that they don't care anymore  Cheesy yet we still see some people keep using them
3149  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Bubble and the fact you simply can't sell your BTC for large amount?! on: December 08, 2017, 03:34:36 PM
all you can do is waiting to get verified if you want to use the sites that you mentioned above
not sure why you don't like solutions like Advcash , yeah it's not that trusted but so fat it's working really good and actually you shouldn't trust any site even coinbase

did you try Neteller ?? I heard that they are one of the most trusted ewallets that takes bitcoin so maybe you can use it too ( never used any of the above cause all not supported here )

also you may find some trusted guys here who can do the trade with you and send you the money to one of the ewallets you have , but I guess most of them ask for a fee
3150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [2017-12-08] A major mining marketplace has been hacked today on: December 08, 2017, 11:32:42 AM
oh just saw that , yesterday all the news were about steam but there is another bad news too
it seems that everytime we see bitcoin moving a lot exchanges or other services get hacked  Roll Eyes

Nicehash should have a plan for paying their users from their profits , it's a large amount of money but such sites should be responsible for their security
3151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where can i buy IOTA? on: December 07, 2017, 08:22:40 PM
you can't buy IOTA directly with cash unless you find someone who is willing to do the trade with you , like a person you know or maybe here in the currency exchange section
if you want to buy IOTA with BTC then you can check bitfinex and binance , so far these are the popular exchanges that offer IOTA
3152  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ethconnect.com Scam. Made by the Vietnamese on: December 07, 2017, 07:23:57 PM
Vietname , Japan , Jupiter or Mars who cares about that !!! Ethconnect is a clear ponzi scheme and you shouldn't worry about the country that it came from
details about such sites are usually limited , owners of such projects try their best to not be known by the public
so such info about such sites don't matter at all , what matters is spreading the word and telling people the truth that they will lose money in these sites
3153  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Account lockout and non-return of money (Yobit) on: December 07, 2017, 07:10:49 PM
IDK about what you did exactly and not sure if spamming with micro orders is banned in other  exchanges too
haven't heard about other guys getting banned for that reason , anyways when you opened your ticket ?? cause you only mentioned that you have 12 tickets ( which is not so good )

maybe they will send you the money in the future , but they already have a red tag
personally never got a single problem with yobit , but I only use them with the top volume coins and never spammed micro orders
3154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steam is no longer supporting BTC. on: December 07, 2017, 05:50:59 PM
the same discussion was opened early today , check it out
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2539384

I hope that steam will add other alts , or even create their own alt cause I only care about funding the wallet no matter how  Smiley
gift cards aren't available in my country  , so now I have to find some sellers here in the forums who sell steam gift cards
3155  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 76% people said we should remove Bitcoin from our platform! on: December 07, 2017, 05:43:57 PM
I can't blame you or any other site for doing that , at the end you should be doing what's good for your biz and you are the one to determine that
still some people may want to keep using bitcoin even for small transactions , so I guess the best thing to do is to have multi options

hopefully the lightning will solve this problem , cause it's really getting ridiculous
3156  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's the reason why BTC rise or decline? on: December 07, 2017, 10:00:07 AM
it's because of the demand , maybe not for bitcoin itself but it's obvious that crypto has gone popular these days
you can't get crypto currencies unless you have bitcoin first , which leads to big demand for bitcoin

also there is the greed factor , people these days are keep hearing that bitcoin is going up everyday and of course people want to make money so they jump in  Smiley
3157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Steam / Valve stops accepting Bitcoin on: December 07, 2017, 09:45:24 AM
great topic man , seriously with the current situation I'm only seeing bitcoin as a ponzi
it's not useful these days for anything except growing your USD value , I'm not even visiting gambling sites these days cause IMO if you don't want to gamble like 10K USD there is no point at all in depositing BTC cause you will end up paying in fees way more than the house edge itself

I saw steam's tweet , and sadly some people still shilling there saying that only losers pay with btc for their games and they are ignoring the real problem
personally I'm in Syria , the only way I can get some games for me and my little brother is by funding the wallet with bitcoin
now I guess it will be much harder

so bitcoin was really solving some of my problems here , but with the current fees I'm only storing it
the avg salary here is around 80$ a month , people here can't afford crypto anymore

this is not what bitcoin meant to be
3158  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: (FS) Steam account 40+ Games. PubG, Arma 3, GTA v, Rust... $60 on: December 06, 2017, 12:36:59 PM
if this is still available please pm me or mention here all the games , also do you have your account linked with phone number ??
one of my friends is looking for such account and I may buy it for him if you go first and allow me to change all the sensitive info
3159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did i miss the train? on: December 06, 2017, 11:50:57 AM
I sold my BTC at 8200$ and I have kept USDT. I thought to buy it at a lower price but that didn't happen. And when it comes to price 11000$, i thought it was about to fall and now it is fucking 12700$. I think  many people have the same case.

 What is your advice?
1/ Keep waiting, because it will definitely fall at 8,000, 9,000$
2/ Buy the fucking BTC, because it will reach 15,000$ at the end of this year
3/ Buy another atlcoin any, because i miss the train.

no one here can give you a sure information , we all saw how many people were predicting that bitcoin will have a correction once it passes 10,000 and they were wrong ( at least for now  Roll Eyes )

if I were in your shoes I would just hold bitcoin and never trade it , just exchange it when I need some money
personally I wouldn't buy bitcoin at this price since it's 13,000 , yes it may keep rising but the risk/reward at the moment doesn't worth it at all IMO
3160  Economy / Exchanges / Re: UNOFICIAL: Bittrex has been seized by US Government Authorities. on: December 06, 2017, 11:38:56 AM
while bittrex is the worst exchange at the moment IMO , I really doubt that this scenario is true especially that  users are able to trade and withdraw normally
they blocked all countries that US forbade dealing with , but this has nothing to do with seizing

there is something wrong going with bittrex these days , but seizing aint one

I'm hoping that they will pay the locked funds for theire members before a worst scenario happens
