3141  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Advertising Network on: September 29, 2013, 08:40:11 AM
I wish some Bitcoin Advertising Network could make a deal with a "regular fiat" network to gain of a massive influx of advertisers.
3142  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We just looking for PR (>1K btc) on: September 28, 2013, 10:06:04 AM
PR means "Public Relations" services to me. Is this what you have in mind?
3143  Economy / Economics / Re: Need your advice please on: September 28, 2013, 10:03:59 AM
Im thinking of sinking 2.5k into buying BTC. I know you cant tell for sure but do you think its a good idea?

As you used the word sinking, I believe you understand the risks. Do it, but then if you're really new to BTC, you'd better start with $250.
3144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Wish Banks Would Curl Up and Die on: September 26, 2013, 09:48:48 PM
My earlier posts can show I'm no friend of the banking sector, but I shall remind a few here that banks can help sometimes. I've used a bank and I shall be forever grateful to that bank when I got a loan which enabled me to buy my home.

I'm all in favor of BTC but we may all need credit sometimes. Only banks have been able to provide it so far.
3145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like bitcoin, what's your reason? on: September 26, 2013, 04:37:09 PM
I like BTC because it's not related to any country. Just like gold, except that it's weightless, and transferable around the world in minutes.
3146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Idealist or Bitcoin Entrepreneur ? on: September 25, 2013, 06:35:05 PM
It's difficult because I was an idealist, then I became an opportunist when I bought some BTC and then, I may turn an entrepreneur someday.
3147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could empower women on: September 25, 2013, 01:05:42 PM
Looking further, BTC has an image problem, being often associated with drug-dealing and terrorism, if we could say it helps empowering women, that would help.
3148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Wish Banks Would Curl Up and Die on: September 24, 2013, 09:55:25 PM
Sadly, most often we have no choice anymore. It's getting next to impossible to pay for utility bills in cash. Some companies even ask for a hefty charge if you don't want to pay by direct debit.

BTC's our only hope!
3149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin could empower women on: September 24, 2013, 06:40:56 PM
In 2013, there are still several countries where women are not allowed to work, or open a bank account, without the consent of their husband.

http://www.worldbank.org/en/news/press-release/2013/09/24/societies-dismantle-gender-discrimination-world-bank-group-president-jim-yong-kim

With BTC gender-neutral, it could do a lot to help them earning, and saving, some money for their own good. The problem is that in those male-dominated countries, many women lack the knowledge to use a computer as they are sometimes not allowed to go to school. There's a lot to do, but I'm convinced BTC can help.
3150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government on: September 24, 2013, 11:31:20 AM
Frankly, the U.S. government would be quite stupid to do anything like that. It would be much cheaper and easier to enact some really tough regulation. The government can say a drug is legal or not, or can impose registration, like for owning a car or a gun.

There may be older webmasters with lots of experiences of trolling, spammers, etc... Once you've bitten a few times, you'll become cautious.
3152  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crowfunding: Business Method with Bitcoin Virtual Currencies on: September 23, 2013, 10:41:16 PM
I've never seen anyone crowdfunding patents. The process is just too long (it often takes 2 or 3 years), and then you can't be sure you'll get it.
3153  Economy / Economics / Re: So... is there any country left without a real estate bubble? on: September 23, 2013, 10:38:51 PM
When you say real estate is cheap do you measure that against 2008 bubble or against historical prices? Real estate is very expensive compared to historical prices (measured in average income) all around the world. Blame fiat currency!

Blame the fact that world population is increasing, and world land size is not.

You should move to Russia, its population is decreasing.
3154  Economy / Economics / Re: need to find quality news souces on: September 23, 2013, 10:37:32 PM
You need multiple sources. I check the BBC and the FT everyday, then Bloomberg.
3155  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Is Argentina's Bitcoin Community so Active? on: September 20, 2013, 06:04:03 PM
There's a logic here. BTC will grow faster in countries where people distrust the official currency, and are looking for something else. BTC has been very stable so far compared to what Argentinians are used to. It will be all black market, but it's about the only thing that works in Argentina. Then exchanges should not as much as a problem as in other countries, because people will prefer BTC to fiat.
3156  Economy / Economics / Re: So... is there any country left without a real estate bubble? on: September 19, 2013, 06:12:00 PM
There are plenty of them! It's actually part of my job to pinpoint them. But you have to consider what you want to do with your money. Do you just want to buy a nice place to live, or do you want to make an investment with the reasonable expectation that you will make a profit when you will want to sell?

There's not much of real estate a bubble in Germany. Save for Munich and Frankfurt, I regard most of that country as affordable and steady, in complete opposition to wild places like London or Monaco. Romania is even steadier, many cheap houses in the countryside, but would you like it?
3157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PayPal on: September 16, 2013, 04:51:19 PM
There's another discussion on this same topic, and I repeat I will not sign, nor do I wish paypal to accept BTC.

Please, don't sign. BTC shall replace paypal.
3158  Other / Archival / Re: SIGN PETITION FOR PAYPAL TO ACCEPT BITCOIN on: September 13, 2013, 05:00:54 PM
I'm surprised and disappointed to see that several people here are supportive of the idea. Don't they remember the "be your own bank" slogan? I wish, and I would sign all the petitions there are, to increase the number of retailers accepting BTC, with the ultimate objective of making all financial institutions obsolete.

There's no need anymore for a middleman to make transactions between 2 strangers now that BTC exists.
3159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Customers to decide if eBay should adopt Bitcoin, will they? on: September 09, 2013, 04:17:50 PM
Whatever the outcome of the ideas given here, I suppose that right now, anyone selling something on Ebay can just add at the end of his product's description that he'll gladly accept BTC as payment.
3160  Other / Archival / Re: SIGN PETITION FOR PAYPAL TO ACCEPT BITCOIN on: September 09, 2013, 04:15:23 PM
I would not want to disappoint anyone, but I would be very surprised if many people here would sign. Who needs paypal now that we have BTC? I don't want paypal to accept BTC, I want paypal to die. Anything paypal's doing, BTC is doing it as well for a lower fee. I suppose that if you don't mind paying high transaction fees, you could sign that petition.
