3141  Economy / Exchanges / Re: IS kucoin as safe as Binance with non-kyc VPN accounts? on: August 02, 2021, 07:45:17 PM
The OP never mentioned the country he is residing, which make a little difficult to precise in commenting.
That doesn't really matter. OP is going to use kucoin with VPN.
And even if you login to Kucoin with an IP address associated with a country which is not included on their KYC list at all, they will still allow you to use their service and make withdrawals up to 5 BTC per day.
3142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Exchange BTC addresses on: August 02, 2021, 07:31:05 PM
The address that Shakepay created for me has only one incoming and outgoing transaction that matches the transaction I made.
That's a HUGE problem.  If this is true, I'd avoid using Shakepay until they can demonstrate that they've improved their security practices.
What's the problem? That's how it should be.
The incoming transaction should be OP's deposit to Shakepay (which is probably the withdrawal made on June 25 from the forex broker) and the outgoing transaction should be the transaction made to Shakpay's wallet address from OP's deposit address.

Am I missing something here?

I don't know how the coding would work, but it would basically be another thing at the top like others, you click it, a new page opens, you turn the wheel once a day if you are just normal user, more if you have that right thanks to fun tokens, and that's it? No need for email at all that way.
They send the links to wheel of fortune through email to encourage users to open their promotional emails. In the case they give the links to wheel of fortune on the website, that would defeat its purpose and many of users will probably disable promotional emails.
3144  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: The EU are not going to ban "Anonymous" wallets on: August 01, 2021, 09:08:02 PM
Centralized wallet providers like the Trustwallet which the developers may suddenly update their software and will likely ask for KYC.
Trustwallet is non-custodial wallet and give you full control over your money.
Even if trustwallet force the users to verify their identity, people will easily import their seed phrase (or their private keys) into another wallet and will access their fund again.
3145  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Legacy Wallet on Android app? on: July 30, 2021, 11:02:37 PM
What am I doing wrong?
In electrum, go to "Addresses" tab and check your addresses there. Are they same as the addresses Copay give you?
If no, the problem may be with the derivation path. There's a possibility that copay has generated the addresses on a different derivation path.

Note: If "Addresses" tab is not available in electrum, click on "View" at top of the window and select "Show addresses".
3146  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum standard transaction fee set to 4.1 sat/byte?? on: July 30, 2021, 09:27:30 PM
I was just making a transaction like i normally do and now i'm stuck with just 4.1 sat/byte. This is going to take a ridiculous amount of time to get confirmed.
According to the current state of the network , it shouldn't take a long time to be confirmed. Your transaction is now about 1 vMB from the the tip and it is expected to be confirmed soon.

Note that the transaction fee rate required for a fast confirmation depends on how busy the network is.
The more busy the network is, the more fee rate is required.

Also note that electrum allows you to set the transaction fee rate yourself.
3147  Economy / Exchanges / Re: IS kucoin as safe as Binance with non-kyc VPN accounts? on: July 30, 2021, 08:57:29 PM
I have used kucoin without KYC and with VPN many times. I confirm that I haven't experienced any issue till now.
As stated by OmegaStarScream, they allow all users to withdraw up to 5 BTC per day.
They allow you to use their service even if you are from a country which is not included in their KYC list and your real IP address is disclosed to them.

Just note that you will need to set a trading password when registering an account. As you are not going to verify your identity, it will be very difficult to reset it if it's forgotten. Keep your trading password and the 2FA secret key in a safe place.
3148  Other / Archival / Re: Helpful Guides For Newbie on the Electrum Wallet on: July 29, 2021, 11:55:52 PM
.........and also I have heard that using Electrum mobile app is vulnerable to hacks.
Whether you use the mobile version or the desktop version, your wallet is at the risk of getting hacked if you keep your private keys on a device which is connected to the internet.

If you want your wallet to be 100% secure, you must create the wallet on an airgapped device, sign the transaction on an airgapped device and use an online device only for broadcasting the transaction and checking your balance and transaction. It doesn't matter whether it's a mobile wallet or a desktop wallet.
3149  Other / Meta / Re: How to be on the first page or top of the list on Announcements (Altcoins) board on: July 29, 2021, 11:06:41 PM
I believe I've tested this with a super bump, and a non super bump, and the end result was the same top spot.
The effect of mini-bump should be much smaller than a super-bump.
LoyceV has the maximum possible base bump power and as stated by him, his mini-bump could move the topic to 11th place while with a super-bump (if you have the maximum possible base power and you haven't super-bumped many topics in the last 30 days), it's very likely that the topic move to the first place.
3150  Other / Archival / Re: Helpful Guides For Newbie on the Electrum Wallet on: July 29, 2021, 10:51:50 PM
But the wallets I have for now are Trustwallet and Imtoken.
If you compare an exchange with trustwallet, there is no doubt trustwallet is a better option.
But it's not recommended to hold big amounts on wallets like trustwallet.
Trustwallet is a noncustodial wallet, gives the seed phrase and you have full control over your money. But the downside is that it's close source and you don't know whether your seed phrase is stored in their server or not. In trustwallet, there is no way to sign a transaction offline and your keys have to touch the internet when you make a transaction.

There are two big advantages for electrum when it's compared with a wallet like trustwallet.
1. It's open source.
2. It allows you to sign the transaction offline and you can use an online device only for broadcasting the transaction.
3151  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: withdraw freebitco.in trouble, whether freebitco.in a scam? on: July 29, 2021, 05:20:52 PM
i can´t access to my account.
The login says ¨incorrect login details¨  and the emails that i receive from frebitco.in says ¨FATAL ERROR, PLEASE EMAIL US AT SUPPORT@FREEBITCO.IN WITH THE ERROR CODE SS1.
There's a possibility that your account has been disabled or even deleted.
Didn't abuse the website with multiple account?

Anyway, it would be better to post in their official thread. You will probably get the answer. Visit the link below.

I'm curious how much bumping power is spent on the top of the list.
I just made a experiment. I super-bumped this topic. (As the topic had been sorted by its creation time before my bump, its bump score was zero)

Since my earned merit in the last year is higher than the activity earned in the last year, I haven't lost any 2-week activity period in the last year and I haven't super-bumped any other topic in the last 30 days, I should have the maximum possible bump power and I was able to bring the topic to the first place.
3153  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost Bitcoines In A Transaction to Coinbase on: July 29, 2021, 02:01:46 PM
Given all the answers I read in this thread, we could very likely conclude that your transaction did not have its destination in the Coinbase wallet, but that you were a victim of clipboard malware or a fake Electrum wallet.
Yes, Seems that OP is victim of the vulnerability in versions older than 3.3.4 and was deceived by the arbitrary message displayed when broadcasting a transaction.
According to this post , he was using the version 3.0.6 before the update.
And as OP was probably scammed in the same way as that Reddit thread, I think he/she updated electrum through the link displayed by a dishonest server.
3154  Other / Meta / Re: Have bumping rules changed? on: July 27, 2021, 11:37:32 PM
I agree here with Loyce, bump is superfluous if someone already posted on the same day (24h) in the same thread. If anyone posted there, it is considered a natural bump.
You are right that it's not allowed to bump a thread in less than 24 hours. But Pmalek didn't do anything wrong. He bumped that thread while it was inactive for nearly 3 months.
LoyceV was referring to the posts others made after the bump, not the posts already made before the bump.

I don't think there is any rule saying that you must delete the bump after others post on the thread.
As stated by LoyceV, the bump was probably deleted because it was no longer needed.
3155  Other / Meta / Re: Abandoned account on: July 27, 2021, 01:44:29 PM
To add to mocacinno's reply:

If you have forgotten the password but you have still access to the email address used at the time of registration, you can use "Forgot your password" option and reset your password via your email.

And note that your account will be locked if you use your secret question for recovering your account. (Click here for more information)
3156  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Hello does anyone knows how reedem casascius Bitcoin? on: July 26, 2021, 03:57:31 PM
Can you explain the difference between the Mini Private key and the Full-size Private key?
Almost any integer between 1 and 2256 can be turned into a full-size private key. A big difference of mini private keys with other formats is that, not every 256-bit number that can be encoded in a full-size private key can be encoded in mini private key format too.
The other difference I know is that there is no way to convert other formats of private keys to a mini private key.

Is this something like a URL shortener where you make it easier for people to remember the Private Key?
A mini private key (even the shortest format which includes 22 characters) is still difficult to be memorized.
A mini private key can be used when there is no enough space for writing a full-size private key.
3157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Scam Alert] Beware of Airdrops that will drain tokens out of your address. on: July 25, 2021, 08:53:08 PM
I have never encountered this type of fraud before and did not even allow such a possibility of stealing money from a wallet without gaining access to a private key.
From my understanding, the hacker didn't withdraw ETH from victims wallet directly. So, the hacker didn't need the private key at all.
Those who lost their money had deposited their coins/tokens to the liquidity pool before. The bug allowed the hacker to deposit fake assets worth zero and extract real assets from liquidity pool instead.
3158  Economy / Reputation / Re: Mycelium Wallet Promoting Scam Bookies 1xbit.com on: July 24, 2021, 10:04:47 PM
Secured wallets or not what they are doing is below expectation, do you have any idea how many holders/customers they must have led to 1xbit thru their Media?
You are right. Many people will probably see the advertisement and will put their money on 1xbit. They will consider 1xbit as a trusted gambling website only because they (wrongly) believe that a service promoted by a reputable wallet like mycelium is trustworthy.
It's clear why Mycelium is promoting 1xbit. They only think about money.

If a custodial wallet or an exchange promotes a scam, I would immediately stop using it. Since mycelium is open-source and noncustodial, at least I know my fund is secure. This is what I was saying in my previous post.

Of course, I agree with you.
You should no longer use mycelium if security of your fund isn't your only concern. By using mycelium, you help them have more users and earn more money from such advertisements.
3159  Economy / Reputation / Re: Mycelium Wallet Promoting Scam Bookies 1xbit.com on: July 24, 2021, 07:41:29 PM
You may not like a wallet advertising a particular service and I understand this. But, that doesn't mean the wallet is not secure.
Mycelium wallet is open-source and also gives you full control over your fund. There's nothing in the code they hide from users.
3160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: July 24, 2021, 05:32:44 PM
Can someone refresh my memory on why is holding fee is now taken weekly instead of daily? Not that I'm complaining.
The fee is 0.99% per year and is deducted from your balance once every 10 days.
Of course, Since there are only three decimals for GOLD tokens and the minimum amount that can be transferred in a single transaction is 0.001 GOLD, the percentage is higher for people with small balances.
