I still can't grasp my head around KnC's latest sales decisions. Why would you sell now a controller board when just a few months ago everyone would have given everything for them? Same for the upgrade boards. Unless they plan to unload their whole datacenter jupiters to replace them with neptunes. I can't think of any other reason right now.
3162  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: April 24, 2014, 10:34:59 AM

I'm still expecting to see their low power mode of 0.35W/GH Smiley
3163  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LSM Labs on: April 24, 2014, 10:33:19 AM
This is a thread about a new mining manufacturer called LSM Labs.

They have listed:

Pandora
3 TH/s ASIC Miner
$7,199 USD
Delivery by 21st May 2014

As well as other machines.

Obviously a scam! Their logo is familiar though, but i can't recall from where.
Shipping on 21 is a big lie. If they were shipping on 21 why there are only 3d renders on the site? They must have at least the chips in hand by now. BIG SCAM!

f you are still waiting on a refund from a neptune i advice you call KnC i just spoke with Anna and a request has been put in for my refund to be made in bitcoin. Don 't be scared to yell at the poor wee Scandinavian girl, she works for the devil, oh and don't let her talk over you as that is what she will try and do.

I just had a 5 min call with Anna i think and she was explaining me that the Financial Department has to fill a lot of documents for the refund since my order was already reported to their tax authorities and also that they have to check my order payment even if after she asked my order number she reported back that i paid in November with bitcoins. I don't know what's there to check more...I did ask about bitcoins refund but she told me that it won't speed up the process except that i win the 3 days that it takes to receive my wire transfer. She also told me that the refund might take longer than 10 business days, but i will get my refund eventually. Back to the waiting line i guess. Refund asked on 11 April. Let's see how long will it take them...
3165  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Review of the Spondoolies-Tech SP10 „Dawson“ Bitcoin miner (1.4 TH/s) on: April 24, 2014, 12:19:08 AM
I have another idea to cut the noise.    For $4495, I just bought 9.35 BTC and did not have to wait until May to get the bitcoin and it made almost no noise producing them.
Or, you can give them $4495 now, and if the network only grows to 60PH/s by mid May (good luck with that), your noisy machine will start producing 0.08 bitcoin a day.
It will only take you around 6 months to get the 9.35 coins that you could have in an instant IF everything goes perfectly.   Sound like a good deal?
Bitcoin goes to 1000$-2000$, you change them to fiat. After a few more months bitcoin goes to 5000$. You lose.
Your logic does not flow.   Purchasing the coin NOW is more profitable than pre-ordering even if everything goes perfectly on your pre-order.    Assuming what someone does at different prices (exchange rates) does not change that.

Yep, buying BTC coin at $490 is a great idea. That is until you panic-sell at $200.
Spurious.    how does that affect an analysis on whether it is better to buy a machine that will produce bitcoin over a period in the future or buy bitcoin on an exchange right now?

I wasn't comparing mining vs speculating. I was simply stating that speculating is not without risk either. I lost my ass with my brief experiment with trading but I've made a positive ROI with mining. What works for one person might not work for another. I'm not built for trading. Mining might not be as lucrative but it's a whole helluva lot more fun... for me.

This! +1 I'm find myself in the same position. That's why i love mining and my heart loves me for doing it.

I thought the 0.1BTC reservation held our shipping que spot?

I think you can ignore Order# in this case. As mentioned shipping will be done by the txid time.
3167  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 23, 2014, 08:37:00 PM

Haha RoadStress you must not remember me.  I forget to mention Spondooodaloodaroodle.  I was the one you offered your "deal" to.  I still want to take it kinda, but I'm so allergic to preorders Sad

Sorry about that! Offer still stands though Smiley

Where do you see an SP10 that ships this month for $3000?

In my Group Buy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=575499.msg6278748#msg6278748

@smooth Still 7 days left. I still don't understand people who think that diff will up forever with 20% considering the amount of miners that are being sold right now...
3168  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 23, 2014, 07:49:13 PM

But don't forget that in the last half of 2013 and today, this is the ONLY company that delivered on ALL of its promises WITHOUT doing bullshit 3-5 month long preorders.  Don't be so quick to throw them overboard before people were BEGGING for batch three and it came up a little overpriced and it was a little bit of a mess engineering-wise.  Yeah, we all had at least minor problems with our S2's, but mine has been hashing since day 1 with only 1 small interruption which I was able to resolve in an hour with the help of the forum members.

Does their customer service suck?  Yes.
Is their response time bad?  Sometimes.
Is their hardware a little glitchy?  Maybe. Sure.

But then again, compared to what?

If you find me one ASIC company that delivers in the same way bitmain does, I sure as hell would like to know.  I was expecting a batch 3 at perhaps 2899 or something slightly less, but you know what?  People were begging for S2 batch 3's, and now they got them.  Bitmain did really well at pricing to both be fair to existing customers, and to those who know Bitmain's reliability in shippong on time.  Not only that, looks like they upped the PSU a bit, and probably are sending out better MicroSD cards than the previous models so customers won't experience many of the same headaches.

So, as a Batch 2 owner, am I going to buy a batch 3?  No, the price isn't right for me, but their batches are small enough, that some people will, and ASIC companies gotta make money too Tongue

I don't think you've stumbled upon Spondoolies Tech company and SP10 miner. They have already delivered units before their announced shipping date, have the greatest customer service (also a dedicated person for the fw issues and requests) and have the lowest W/GH.

P.S. Yes trolls this is advertising for the best company out there and i will do it even after the Group Buy ends.
3169  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: April 23, 2014, 07:42:36 PM
I'm not seeing the gold rush boards in the store yet. Are they up and I'm just stupid and can't find them (not that those two are mutually exclusive) or are they not up yet? Also, at $2/gh/s, isn't that one of the most if not THE most competitive pricing of in stock miners? I haven't been paying too close attention these past few weeks but I'm pretty sure going rate is still around $3/gh/s.

That said, I'm going to make another request to at least have the share verification site up so that we can disperse the accumulated dividends which are now in non-negligible territory. I'd also love to hear even a rough timeline on the financial reports and any progress on ActM's custom 28nm chip if one is still planned.

I do not see the new miners on the site either, and I do still see those old, ugly cases...

I do believe that @ ~$2/gh and .8w/gh these miners will be the best on the market. I believe Antminers achieve sub $3/gh but not by much and they still draw at least 1w/gh (iirc...).

Too bad ken is busy setting up the DC instead of shipping boards to customers.

3171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: April 23, 2014, 07:37:48 PM

Why did you exit your investor position?

i didn't.  I'm also an investor in other bitcoin mining companies too.

Sorry misread. Can you share them?
3172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 23, 2014, 07:33:46 PM
Taken my KNC Neptune refund of £7,000+ UK pounds and Spent less than half on an order for a SP30 (August delivery at 5.4Th/s).

Don't know if Anyone from KNC reads this forum.

KNC were you looking to build customer loyalty, well you failed.

Bye

C_C

Why do you think they are holding refunds? Because they are reading the forums and don't want people to join my Group Buy.
3173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: April 23, 2014, 07:32:08 PM
In other words, officially a shill.

self declared bias.  am not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes.

if i was a shill, i wouldn't tell you i was advising them now, would i?  defeats the object.  shilling requires subterfuge.

previously, i was just a good investomer.  now I'm also advising them.  still a customer of others too.

Post some cliff notes for the non-german speakers?
3175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 23, 2014, 05:05:43 PM
In the same boat, waiting a week now for my refund they agreed to issue in BTC and now no response to e-mails.  Fuck these guys so bad.

Well they said they will refund in 7-10 business days so that may explain the delay, but it's still stupid to have to wait 10 working days when they were mining 500k$ per day.
3176  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [On stock] 820G Hash Avalon3 Asic Bitcoin Mine, low price on: April 23, 2014, 04:41:44 PM
Is this a Group Buy? Or simply advertising? Why not state price too?
3177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 23, 2014, 04:29:30 PM
I guess this says it all. Basically if THEY want, you'll get your money :

Please also note that according to our terms and conditions: https://www.kncminer.com/pages/tandc which must be accepted before placing an order, we are not obligated to provide refunds, they are offered as a goodwill gesture.

Thanks in advance,

Best regards  |

Why not post this to the Market forum? That's why it's called Market so that people can sell and buy stuff.
3179  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Special Group Buy - Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order] ***EASTER WEEK SALE*** on: April 23, 2014, 03:46:09 PM
Is there a list or will SpondooliesTech contact us after the timer runs out?

Also if I order more will all my orders be counted / fabricated / shipped as the first one in the queue or the last one in the queue?

As previously said Spondoolies Tech planned to contact customers after GB reaches the 250 units mark. I think today everyone should receive an e-mail, if not then tomorrow.

Regarding the shipping queue i'm think that for a very small number of extra units you can keep your shipping queue IF there aren't so many that are requesting that. This is not something official though, but i find it reasonable to keep your queue for 1-2 extra units if there is a small number of customers that is requesting that. Up until now you would be the first so i don't think it's such a big deal. Spondoolies can give you a final answer on that.
