Congratulations. Maybe they have an automatic system preventing people to withdraw over $10k or something. Or because your vpn server was one of the countries that have loose regulations you weren't automatically blocked.

However, winning big by accident is how i have won trough slots and  gambling. Not that big i admit but sometimes i accidentally bet a lot or accidentally bet with very high multiplier.
3162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Binance poised to become a monopoly? on: November 15, 2022, 02:59:42 AM
I'm afraid people will continue to lose trust on CEXs due to constant hacks/theft and/or misuse of funds. This is good because it will make crypto more decentralized by forcing people to use DEXs as an alternative to existing centralized exchanges. After all, crypto is all about eliminating the single point of failure. When you give too much power to an exchange, that's when crypto becomes no different than traditional Fiat. Satoshi gave us Bitcoin to help us escape today's banking system. That means getting away from centralization as much as possible.
Most of the people i know already stores them in their own wallet, but that's because they are digitatives that have been using crypto for a long time. We have to remember that most people far from tech-savvy and, these people are not going to store huge or even small amounts of wealth. Even if the skills to handle the sec ops required to secure the wallet is low to us, it's not to lot of people. They need to back their wallet up, encrypt the backup, and make sure someone else knows how to access them in case something happens to them. And they can't lose their keys. These people are way better off trusting CEX, but if they won't they will be cashing out.

I know that people like to think that self custody is the one of the essential points why crypto is popular. But the thing is, we are giving way too much credit for skills that we think people have, and their ability to navigate in crypto world. These people struggle to know how to operate windows os.

Empires don't last forever, so who knows if Binance becomes history sometime in the future?

Binance will eventually meet challengers, but if crypto starts to grow again, we have room for many more big exchanges blossoming side to side.
3163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk have Just a year to make back his money🙆 on: November 14, 2022, 11:22:03 PM
He just keep messing things up. Latest would be the fact that he saw unnecessary microservices and dealt with them:

And that caused 2FA to break. Now i am in danger of losing my account permanently. So thanks Musk!

The fact that people are considering him as a genius blows my mind and this little stunt shows his coding skills as well. I shouldn't mind as it's his business and he can burn it to the ground if he wants and looks like he does. But the reason why i am angry is because it was a good platform. And now we have probably have to find a new one or build it again as this is obviously not working.
3164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bought 8000 lottery tickets on: November 14, 2022, 11:09:50 PM
Costs only 0.1 $ ticket
8000 ticketsc for 800$

What my odda to get 6 numbers?

https://ibb.co/kcJMM2b
That depends, i would need to know how how high those ball numbers go. I know by looking that there are 5 normal lottery balls and one extra but i can't find the numbers with a quick glance.

If someone isn't busy and knows how high those ball numbers go they can calculate it: https://www.wikihow.com/Calculate-Lotto-Odds
3165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CZ dumping FTT on: November 14, 2022, 10:53:57 PM
I don't think an attack on FTX will affect FTT alone, but indirectly affect all existing cryptos because crypto trust will decline. how can high-tier exchanges like FTX still be conceded by hackers when they already have a lot of trust. This makes everyone worry about the storage on the exchange.
You talking about the hackers attacking to FTX?

This might sound like an unrealistic tinfoil hat accusation but i woudn't leave out the option that they had help from an insider. Employees were most likely lied about insolvency issues as well, and because they worked there, as a support they could have lots of their money in FTT in a same way that Binance employees have some of their salaries paid in BNB. This would have made them financially broke and vulnerable for bribery. And as lot's of hacking is based on human engineering, they could have just set up a ruse where they claim they have been deceived / robbed / cheated by hackers. As this is a common way to hackers to get in it would be beliveable.

But this is all speculation.

And things have changed since i started this thread. Now the consensus is that SAM is the bad guy here and binance had no reason to punish them as they wouldn't have gain as much even if they had whole their user base as they would have with market stability and investors trust on the markets.
3166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are those people that you don't want them to know you are a gambler on: November 14, 2022, 09:25:08 PM
Are you such gambler ?
Who are these people you hide your gambling activities from ?
Give a reason why you don't want them to know you are a gambler.
Sad to say but closest people to me don't have a clue, and i rather keep it that way. I am pretty sure that they go all judgy on how i can't manage my life, and that would be because of gambling. I would need to assure everyone one by one that i have it under control and i have a system i follow that keeps me safe and not spending all my money. And that i understand the psychology of gambler's fallacy.

I dont have time or energy for those conversations. To me gambling is me-time alone and it relaxes me and loads my batteries way more then any drinking in the bar or bad tv show would.
3167  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people withdraw their generosity during crisis? on: November 14, 2022, 07:27:18 PM
I appreciate Their effort for reaching out to them. But I have witness some cases in life where someone you trusted so much turn you down where you needed him most.

Ah you were talking about personal crisis, not national crisis. That's another issue. Most of friends aren't really as trustworthy as they seem. It's easy to say that "contact me if you need anything". Most of them doesn't mean it. It's just a quick way to comfort someone without putting anything on the line.

And they won't be expecting anyone picking their offer. Or if they do they would help with as minimum effort as they can. You don't need to be a bad person to promise help and take it away. Because it's a learned cultural thing and everyone is doing it. At least the part where they offer help (and in the end won't help if asked).

Often people have only 1 or 2 close people they can count on everything (if they are lucky). And often they are their own parents or relatives or room mates, or people they are romantically involved with.

But anyway, i see what you mean and it sucks. I have some friends, but i would need to think for a while who would help me lifting things or drive if i needed to move to another apartment. I could maybe count some of them unless they had something to do that day. I am uncertain if helping of me would be any kind of priority to most of them. If i had more serious issues, i prbably wouldn't have strenght to even ask.

I've also seen some "influencers" saying to stay out of crypto.com as early as now as they have an intel about the solid proofs about crypto.com anomaly. I can't verify it myself knowing that I don't have the power to ask them about these proofs. Though it would be much safer to avoid them for now given that there are standing proofs about their anomaly and crypto.com is on hotseat right now. I'm pretty sure there are people who will be investigating them and they would be lucky if there's nothing to find out about them. They can easily go downfall if someone find out or leak their wrong doings just like what happened to FTX.
Right, on cases like this it's way more reasonable to not to keep anything in the exchange crypto.com (Or huobi which is prpbably another one), because the upside of keeping money there isn't worth the downside where you could lose EVERYTHING. So if newbies get scared and for some reasons doesn't trust exchanges anymore, which is a possibility.

Then they have 2 options, either cash out or move your crypto to self custodial wallet. And many of them aren't tech-savvy enough to trust themselves using their own wallets, so those will be cashing out. And i think we might see that happening soon.
3169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Can Be Done To Reduce Gambling Related Issues Like Suicide etc? on: November 14, 2022, 06:58:32 PM
Hi everyone, i trust ya all having a great day...

Like the subject of this topic say, its a question i am putting out to you all, as a member of the gambling community, what do you think can be done to reduce the gambling related issues like --
  • Substance Misuse problems
  • Depression
  • Personality Disorder
  • Fear and Anxiety
  • Obsessive-compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Attention Deficit/hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
MAybe there's a language barrier but to me you make it sound like these are caused by gambling. Many of these are disorders you would had your whole life. Gambling addiction doesn't cause them but they can cause Gambling addiction.

What comes to other issues you listed, most of them are treatable by doctors and psychologists. Goverments have intervened too and ordered casinos to set up self-exclusion systems (by law) to help people with low impulse control.

Problem however lies with the people who don't want help nor they understand that they need it.

Different regulations tackle those problems very differently, Finland has already very strict system. Government basically owns monopoly in gambling, mandatory kyc is needed for slots and lottery. This works for us locally, but we can still gamble easily via internet. And i can see that other countries might see such kind of policies as invasive. You mentioned government banning on gambling ads, which doesn't stop gambling, nor it should. But i guess they think that everything counts when you don't want to trigger unstable people .

This is very complicated problem and there are no one working solution.

Personally i think we should do as much as we can to lower the barrier to get help and try to remove the stigma from it. It's really the only thing we can if we won't forcefully treat gambling addicts.
3170  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: November 14, 2022, 06:11:34 PM
We can technically even say that it is proven as well. I mean of course "it will not bankrupt" is not something you can really prove, any business in the world could go bankrupt, even tesla/amazon/apple size companies could go bankrupt if we are looking at it from the technicality stand point.

However, if we are being realistic, freebitco.in has been around for many many years, and they have been getting attacked probably every day of that period and still keep everything safe and secure no matter what happens. Which is a great proof that no matter what happens, they have the funds to back it up and not going to get screwed and fail to pay people back.
Funny enough when i fist found freebitco.in their GUI and ADS looked so shady that i thought there would be no freaking way i would deposit anything there. Turned out that it outlived many exchanges that were considered safe. They never stole my faucet bitcoin and always paid the winnings. And they have standed the test of time and i haven't heard one complain about them. Looks can be very deceiving.
3171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market is about to pump on: November 14, 2022, 04:34:52 PM
You should understand too how TA works or atleast have the basic knowledge on it because you will determine if the analysis is true or not base on the data they are providing. Some TA analyst is always posting bias analysis by getting the signal that they want on the time frame which they can see the signal even though the general trend is against it.

It's right to not trust anyone TA but it's not bas on reading some of it because they might a chance they are giving a correct signal that you can verify if you have the knowledge to understand it.
I don't think you read my post. I understand how ta is supposed to work, and there are ton of of different ways and technics how people are using for it. I was talking about probability, and track record, not facts. But that's the issue with probability, people don't understand it they see only if prediction has been right or wrong and probability is a huge spectrum of possibilites.

I don't know exactly what you mean by TA being true or not, they are just data, using history as a prediction tool and trust that market movements have a possibility to "rhyme" with the past data.

Here is a brief AMA summary with the CEO of Crypto.com: https://www.livemint.com/market/cryptocurrency/cryptocom-ceo-says-withdrawals-working-exchange-not-in-trouble-11668413622484.html
He claims that there is nothing to worry about, but we know how much such assurances mean. If at the present time the troubles of another major exchange were revealed, it would be a huge blow to the entire crypto world. Remember that exchanges should not be used to store funds on them that we are not currently trading!
Yep, ceo of rumored exchange says that their operation is running just fine. Where else have we heard that? Oh yeah, every failed exchange ceo ever.
I mean what else he would say? Anything even hinting towards that they have insolvency issues would start a panic bank run, and enough people withdrawing at the same time they would have to shut down the withdrawals (probably because of some made up reason of server upgrades). And that would be their end.

Only thing any sane CEO would do at this face is either to be fully transparent about their situation with ftx, and release fully transparent data about their reserves give good reasons for every meaningful transactions they have made. OR just to lie and hope that people won't panic while they try to solve their issues.
3173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ONE MAJOR LESSON LEARNT SO FAR THIS WEEK FROM THE CRYPTO MARKET 😥 on: November 13, 2022, 10:55:32 PM
What lesson did you learn from the market this week?

I personally, learnt to always take profit.
Last week i actually used something i've learned before. That is "Don't wait FUD to blow over if there's too much of it. Always act swiftly, because if you don't, others will."

This saved me a ton of money this week. And i haven't still bought back in as i am waiting for markets to go down another leg. I know that's not a popular opinion but i don't really care. I rather have what i have now then buy any alts right now. Maybe next week is better, or after when ever the next crash happens.
3174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BYBIT have delisted FTT (basically " YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE AN ADVANTAGE") on: November 13, 2022, 10:34:09 PM
Is this moral, ethical?
I see no issue here, it's their exchange, they have to deal with the risk of exposure to a token that's dying. I am pretty sure that Binance delists them eventually too.

What would happen to those traders who have shorted since say $25???
Their shorts are probably closed. So they are way better of if they have shorted it in Bybit then let's say FTX for example. You need a little sense of proportion here. Talking about ethical behavior when TENS of BILLIONS have been gone up in smoke and FTX dumped every coin they had. They even got hacked and you are talking about some exchange delisting something which happens all the time.

Should everyone have kept Bitconnect listed on their exchanges too after they were exposed just because someone was shorting it? No. It's unethical to keep FTT as a play token now imho
3175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto.com in trouble? on: November 13, 2022, 09:06:42 PM
It has been a hour now since sent money from my bank to crypto.com and have still not received funds.
I have however been able to send most of crypto I had on crypto.com to my ledger so at least most of it is off their exchange now.
Not looking good, does make me less confident now  Undecided
I trust that they have problems and i wouldn't send anything there right now but in all fairness, last time i deposited in crypto.com ages ago it took way more then 1 hour for me even with cryptos. I can imagine that bank deposits in weekends will be even slower to process.

One thing is certain, though: trust in cryptocurrencies will be dented if another exchange goes down.
I've been hearing lot's of warnings from reliable sources that more exchanges are going down as they are insolvent and i should withdraw everything imminently. I only have few hundreds left in some places for just in case i need to short something. But i agree with you, this would be a serious blow and it would mean more bear run and that we would have to wait for Bull run quite a while as trust has to be established again.
3177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is your lost from FTX collapse on: November 13, 2022, 08:35:42 PM
Due to huge crypto exchange FTX brankcupcy . what is your lost amount?

my one is 120$ and i got the a new message that "Not your keys , Not your crypto"
I had something like $0.70 in FTX. I shorted it as a joke with 20x leverage and got around $10 out when ftt was around $5. Then i tried to play with leverage on that and lost it. I was regretting that i didn't deposit more before shorting because i would have make more money in few days then in whole last bull run.
Even with that $0.7 have would have now made couple hundred bucks if i had let it run to the ground but it doesn't really matter as i wouldn't get it out anyway.

3178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I predicted Chainlink, Pancake and many others right. Heres my new prediction on: November 13, 2022, 07:46:53 PM
My prediction is Modefi...

I have to say i was ready to start with the fact anyone can say that they predicted anything but if they don't have history to prove for or against it, it probably just indicates that they lied about it. How ever i looked at Modefy and i was going to debunk your hype. But funny enough i started to listen their ama just to be thorough, and i was surprised that i liked what i heard. Fundamentals aren't bad.

Now i am slowly getting more info and if i don't find red flags i am actually buying little of it. Once in the blue moon someone wasn't totally trolling with an utter garbage shitcoin and that got me off guard. So, thanks i guess.
3179  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World is mess becouse 2 good people are out on: November 13, 2022, 05:29:58 PM
Borish johnson uk priminester and off course second one donald trump they dont let world go in mess but other leaders will drive world into mess.
If uk boris and usa trump will create ally will join then all the mess can be fixed
Also boris was and still is best for uk and uk people know this
Same goes for trump
What about other countries?
Well they are creating a mess but trump and jonshon are quite good
You must be kidding. Being so vague makes me think that you don't know what's been done under their leadership versus leadership of others. But that doesn't surprise me at all as truth or knowledge doesn't matter to this kind of Qanon-like attitude. Problem is that people who fell for Trump don't trust any media or scientist consensus, but they blindly trust other people that don't trust media or scientists either. This creates an opportunity for some people to lead these people and earn money feeding misinformation and use them.

And ironically they call people who criticize them "sheep".
3180  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people withdraw their generosity during crisis? on: November 13, 2022, 05:15:23 PM
In life, we all battling with uncertain behaviour, that one will wonder why certain characters occur when one needs a helping hand most. we are facing some difficulties in our communities and families, and the people you think will assist you to sort things out seems to be the ones to disappoint you.its seems to me that person don't value life, they shows concerns only when people  are celebrating and withdraw when things goes wrong. Such life should be discourage in the society.  We should not only show up when things are working, we should always stand in good and bad time.
I am not sure what you mean about this. People are often known to help each other during crisis and have a feeling of unity.

People here in Finland were quite polarized just few whiile ago. After Russia attacked Ukraine everyone wanted to help, they volunteered in lots of things and people united for Ukraine, and against Putin no matter which political party you were member of. Now we are saving energy and consider it as their humanitarian duty to help with the energy crisis. Cities have ordered to save energy in the winter and they are happy to do so.

If a green party would have suggested saving energy while ago and set up mandatory rules for cities, people would have lost their minds. But because the crisis is imminent, we don't even think twice about it.

Here's a study to read: People supporting each other during pandemic crisis
