It seems, there is a steady increase of buy-support.

Buys in BTC: 6,3
Sells in BTC: 1,9

Thanks to the hundreds of scams, altcoins are officially DEAD!  Dan "Madoff" Metcalf, truly put the nail in the coffin.  Even legitimate altcoins going forward will be labeled as scam.  My advice, take your coins off the exchanges and hold the ones you think are legitimate or sell all your coins and convert to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin cannot be the sole cryptocurrency, just as there are hundreds of FIAT currencies in the world.  But thanks to the likes of greed, there will be no chance of ANY other crypto getting even close to the same level of adoption as Bitcoin... at least not for a long long long long time.

To the scammers, here's an old school style fuck you!

Altcoins are not dead. We saw a lot of Scams and fails and greedy Dev-Teams hyping with promises without delivering. But: The responsibility is also on Investor-Side! Many Investors buy and sell Coins without any research about the fundamentals or the Devs. And if there is a pearl in all the Shit, with hard working and honest Devs with skills and ideas, many Investors expecting huge profit in between some days, instead of giving time. I saw it many times that the community got impatient and damaged good projects with pressure on the Devs like Fudder and dumping on release. But quality needs time! That's a natural principle Crypto won't broke! In the first time of a project there should be base-building instead of hyping. Investing is about research, making decisions and to take the responsibility for the own decisions. That would lead more money in the good projects that are out there between all the Shitcoins and Scams. And I'm sure, exactly that will happen in the future. Investors (including myself) will learn the lessons and how we invest is making choices about how Crypto should be. All the Scammer and Pump-Groups had great times because of silly and greedy decisions of the Investor-sheeps.

My personal lessons are:

1. Deep research about the Devs. I read nearly every line and not just the "what", also the "how" (they communicate).
2. Invest in honesty and ability
3. If I see hyping I become careful
4. Fundamentals! I want to see a strong technical base to build on the innovations. The first months don't need to be glamorous.
5. Charts don't show the reality.
6. Patience! Quality needs time. Pressure on good Devs is damaging the own Investment.

If all Investors would invest more carefully, make more research, be more patient... Crypto will change. And we already see this dynamic. There are pearls out there and they will benefit of those changes.

Tempus, the PND groups have more bitcoin than "normal" investors.  Until they are out of the game permanently, there is NO safe coin and the PND will continue.  Only the originals are unaffected, BTC, LTC and so on...

If it's on an exchange, at those small prices, it's an easy target for a PND.

Yes, right. But pumps only will lead to profit for Pump-Groups if they are able to bring normal Investors in it. They accumulate over some days or weeks huge amounts of a coin. Than they starting PR and hyping.... pumping the price a little bit to attract normal investors to panic-buys and than they dump on them. They need buyer!

And there are many pumps that did not work out as planned because most actors in Crypto already comprehend those games. Sometimes there is dumping on Pumpers. And the heads of pump-groups often cheating their own members... not all of them make profits. In my eyes, joining a pump-group is a higher risk than investing in good projects with longterm-potential. And: If a pump-group dump on normal investors, it don't has to damage a good project. It leads to distribution and distribution leads to more strength. So far, pumped and dumped coins often did not came back. But why? Because ppl just look at the chart instead of informing themselves deeper about reasons for extreme price-changes and acting impatient. Why should one sell a good project because a pump-group played with it?

There are some false paradigmas in Crypto. And one of it is "after a PnD they never come back". High-quality will survive those games...

of course. 95% of coins are greedy and unclean.

The altcoins i found to be clean or reasonably clean (no premine, no scam, open source, good history, active community, legit crypto and no doubts about it) in Top 100 are:

-Litecoin
-Megacoin
-Unobtanium
-Namecoin
-Peercoin
-Primecoin
-Feathercoin
-Dogecoin
-Reddcoin
-Vertcoin
-Bitmark

i think those are the ones that will survive for longer time. Possible i forgot a hand full of coins. The list is my personal conclusion based on own research. Others may disagree.
The majority especially the greed/ripoff/unfair-coins will have a hard time. It is no problem for me since i was investing in ethical coins only all the time.
All this shenangians we see currently is not of interest to me and won't affect the legit coins i am holding. In fact the legit coins will benefit from it.

Not top 100 yet, but my personal Main-Invest: Neoscoin

nobody gives a care about dem altcoin junk, its TOTALLY and ENTIRELY irrelevant, 100%.

good luck wasting ur time here my little nifty boys.  hint: a job earns u actual money and a good education secures u life long, but keep on dreaming for the riches over night by doing nothing other than holding some bits and bytes LOLOL  Grin Cheesy

~CfA~

For me it's very simple: As long as the Internet exists, Cryptocurrencies won't die. Every single Coin could die, yes (Bitcoin included), but not the idea, not the Blockchain-Technology. We already see great innovations and we see evolution. Even banks think about copying the technology, nearly every central Bank has warned about Crypto - what means: It is recognized and "they" take it serious. We don't know which Alts will be on Top, but I'm pretty sure: We will see the first steps in this Forum. Maybe the one or the other is already here.

I often compare it with the garages in the 70s... there were many with hard working Computer-Kids. Out of two of these garages Microsoft and Apple were build. In this forum... the Announcement-Threads are the "Garages". 95% won't not survive, but some pearls are already there (Neos!).

In my eyes, it's nearly impossible that Crypto won't be a part of the future financial industry.
3167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your top 5 altcoins - in order? on: November 01, 2014, 03:06:30 PM
1) Neoscoin

Neos is my Number one (around 80%). It's still under the radar and the price suffers from the bad mood in Crypto in general, but I'm convinced that many ppl who got scammed will find Neos. And we all now: If all money would flow out of the Scam and Shitcoins, it would be a lot for all the serious and honest projects. And that dynamic will come. The Neos-Team is very skilled, the Main-Dev (Syntaks) is the best Dev I've ever seen. Always working, always there to answer questions or help people, transparent about what they are doing but never hyping, "just" constant delivering what's promised. Neos time will come if this "Crypto-Scam-Shitcoin-Depression" is overcome.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=835131.0

2) BitcoinDark

I was there when they started and James came to BTCD and I liked the idea, so I bought and it was the best profit so far (safed me because of some bad Investments). I think, BTCD is one of a few coins that has longterm-potential if their plans work out. I'm not so sure about SuperNet. My personal view is, that BTCD could suffer if SuperNet should fail. But if not... I will buy SuperNet, too. Watching but waiting.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=684090.0

Than I own a few Stealthcoin, some Shadowcoin, very little Craigscoin (more as a longterm-bet because I like the idea but it looks bad right now), the dead Guerillacoin (huge mess I've never really understood what happened, always hoped there would be a change) and ... oh yes: 80 frozen Litecoins (Vircurex).

I should say: I'm always on the search for longterm-potential, I'm not a trader. Sometimes it turns out very bad (Gue... or Cloak - sold it all), but therefore I'm convinced that Crypto will turn out as a game-changer and become a professional part of financial industry, it won't need much money in the right Projects for huge profit in future. Thats why I always look at the Devs. So far, Neos is the only one (I know) I see all what I want to see and the only Coin I'm not scared about low prices. Quality needs time but it will win in longterm. Nearly all the pumped Hypes are down now and many won't coma back. And the new Projects will face hard times, because all the doubts and fear of getting scammed. That's why I think, the next evolution-step will focus real professionalism instead of scams, hypes, manipulation and failed promises and that will bring some changes.
3168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NEOS]Neos v2.0.1 Released - Official Upgrade Thread - Performance & More on: October 30, 2014, 12:37:02 PM
I personally can not say enough good things about Syntaks. He is a very upstanding guy and extremely helpful. We NEED more people like him in cryptos in order to help the entire crypto ecosystem!

Thanks a lot Mage.  The way I just explained it to someone I was talking with on IRC about the current state of things is: there's a ton of projects coming out with colorful promises and gimmicks.  They're failing to deliver or deliver a working product time after time being paid heavily for it.  We're not getting paid and we're here every day, all day and all night.  We're fully committed to Neos and that's something I think many aren't either realizing or it's irrelevant to them which is ok too.  When people get tired of being burnt by these projects, I'm just hoping they finally turn an eye towards Neos and realize we're not going anywhere.  Until then, we've got a list of features and improvements to work on.  The multipool will be ready this weekend.  I just had to teach myself node real quick to work with the nomp frontend.

People have stated quite a few times that it's a matter of a lack of advertising and exposure.  We're here to listen to your ideas.  If anyone has suggestions for places to advertise Neos we're all ears.

      Best regards,

syntaks

A few months ago, Neos would have skyrocket. But I'm sure, it would suffer in these times as well because of the bad mood in Crypto generally. Many Investors trying to find reasons without seeing the greater picture. And above it all: Every Investor should face the mistakes Investors as a Collective have made in the last months. Most of us made bets on high promises, got greedy because prices increased automatically on this dynamic and it wasn't really about the Product itself. It was about promises, more about the Announcement than about the release and it was short-term-thinking. And in best case the Devs should deliver in a couple of days and they should not have a normal life besides Crypto... Dev in vacation? SELL! ;-)

What I want to say with all that: You made it all right. I'm glad we are back in Bitcointalk because I think it is still the biggest platform for Crypto and it will help Neos to get more Attention. But it is not the Main-Reason for high or low prices. Many good projects are down. The main-reason is the unprofessionalism of Investors. The complaining about Scams is justified, because there were many scams and silly hypes. But everybody who bought them should take a look into the mirror. Investors have to learn to invest in fundamentals instead of promises. They have to learn to make deep research (and that is work) instead of playing Roulette. And they have to learn to focus what makes the difference: The Devs. In Crypto it's all about the Devs in many ways. And in my eyes... you are really the best Dev I have seen so far. I have many reasons for that conclusion. I just hope, you don't get too frustrated about the current mood and some pressure.

My suggestion is what you already did and do: Develop the Neos-Base as perfect as you do and keep it as open as you can to build on top of it what is useful. I think, that "being safe" will become very important, therefore I would like to see a function like 2FA... (I know you said, you have plans for something like that). The rest is waiting for a change in general and I'm sure it will come. It's nearly impossible it won't come. It's like evolution and the time of silly Scams, Copycats and Hype-Coins is nearly done. Projects like Neos will benefit from that if the "depression" is overcome. As I said in a last post: I don't think, that this is the time for big PR. It's just about being recognized and Neos is already recognized. People don't buy because the whole market is unpredictable. That is the sign for the Paradigm-change I mean and it is a good sign for the future.

Only suggestion: Sleep more! ;-)

How did I miss this thread ? Smiley Nice to see positivity back on BCT. Will be checking in regularly.

Syntaks really does work hard. Yesterday I screwed up my wallet update and he helped me out in a flash. Love that he's always around and cares for the community as much as he does for Neos.
Always working his ass off 24/7 and making neos better daily! But the market doesn't react for some reason. I strongly believe neos has everything going for it and has a dev that can be trusted and can be watched as he works. I had a couple problems and syntaks fixed me up straight away even when one of the problems had nothing to do with neos... I never been in a coin where the dev helped out like this or was there 100% every time someone needed him or that is 24/7 in his irc keeping everyone up to date and helping where help is needed. Besides the fact that the wallet is the most useful and innovative wallet i have ever used, these are the reasons i invest in neos and will continue to take advantage of the cheap prices... eventually no one will have a choice but to pay attention to neos!

Keep up the great work syntaks! And thanks for never showing signs of slowing down, but instead your always "turning UP!" your a f*$%# BEAST!!

All we need now is some great PR Smiley

PR and some fundamental innovation.

The fundamentals are very good. And I'm not so sure about a "lack of PR". In other times the PR would be big naturally, because Investors would spread the word. But the whole market is in a "depression", if you take a look:
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/all/

Many great projects are down, without fundamental reasons I could see. And the great projects suffering a lot of all the Scams and Hype-Coins etc.

In my eyes, this is the time of Base-Building. Maybe it could even be wiser to wait with the big news and the big "PR-drums" for better times. And I'm convinced that there will be a flood of bigger money in the future, because Crypto will be part of the financial future. Even banks will copy the Blockchain-Technology and so on.

The best would be, that we see a BTC-rise again and that more new people would get attended for Crypto in general. Neos would surf on such a wave because of the great fundamentals... Bad times are the right times for smart money. And smart money is indeed not like gambling. All that means for me: Just to be in Projects with a strong base and great potential and most of all: trusted and skilled Devs!

Hard times for Crypto in general, but I'm very glad to be in now and I'm proud for myself to have recognized Neos early ;-)

As advantageous a position as Neos currently is in, it's best not to rest on one's laurels...  not that anybody involved with the project has any intention of doing so -- to the contrary -- things look very good for NEOS' future

Yes, and I don't mean to rest on one's laurels. I mean, what I wanted to say with "base-building"... a strong base, a fluid working system that is well designed and User-friendly. My impression is: Syntaks did and does a lot of work that many don't see, but they would recognize it if he wouldn't do this work and they would recognize it in comparison to some other projects whose Devs try to hype with Announcements and promises and than the product is disappointing. Neos is already very User-friendly and that is a very important point. It begins with the easy installation and ends in an intuitive Design everybody can use. It just has to go on and nobody will regret buying at 30k.

Neos at these prices is definitely one of the safest places to park your btc... Wink

Yes... agree! And that is a very important point. Crypto will become a game-changer and we just see the first steps. But the Crypto-"Game" has to change and it already changes. In my eyes, Neos will profitate of a changing dynamic that will go to more safety, professionalism and reliability. Many Investors got burned of Scams, short Hypes, capitulating and hiding Devs, manipulative Devs etc., that we see now a phase of uncertainty with impact on the whole market. I'm pretty sure, that BTC has some influence and also the Mintpal-Desaster and so on. There are so many aspects influencing the whole Crypto-Market with uncertainty that people come to false conclusions if they are searching for reasons for weak prices if they just do it with "finger-pointing" on single aspects or just looking on a chart.

Until now, Crypto was like Las Vegas but it will become much more. Many Projects won't come back but at the same time more capital will flow in the market if the current phase is overcome. The market will change because not just the Projects will become more professional. Investors will learn as well. Therefore I'm really optimistic generally, because all the signs for Crypto as a new financial principle are very good. But first... some current (and wrong) Crypto-Axioms, like quick money and at the same time quality or investing like betting etc, have to change and it changes already. And Neos is well placed to benefit from that changing dynamic. Even the name is prophetic! ;-)

Mainly impatience I think.

Not sure where the price will reach though i know for sure that this coin packs some serious punch behind it. I have watched it grow into a more and more complete system over time. A great +1 for the developer and entire team involved.

Much respect.

Agree! It's one of a very few Coins I see really Longterm-Potential. I can't know if I'm exactly right, but for me it seems that the whole design (not just the visible Design) is made with the intention of a strong base, stability and real usability. No hype but straight development and base-building on every stage.

Therefore it's too soon to discuss the price. Because, what I like to see very much: There is a lot of distribution. And a lack of distribution is one of the biggest problem in many Projects. With other words: Even the chart reflects what I wanted to say with "base-building" and stability.

price will settle back to around 10k.. devs are kids. Syntaks has also let us down on many promises about v2. and too slow to deliver. 130btc ico funds should hire more devs. pretty sad he cant even hold a 200k market cap. partial reason for this is lack of communication/transparency and refusing to start an official BTC talk thread. an official BTCtalk thread will bring more investors and traffic you could think of.

Oh boy... what a BullShit. Syntaks is the best Dev I ever saw. Lack of communication? He answers on every question! He is on nearly 24 hours a day. He explains every step, even on YouTube. He answers on Twitter if somebody asks him anything there. I would be concerned if the Neos-Team would discuss all the Time with Trolls instead of developing the Project.

Everybody who takes a closer look will see quality. Everybody who wants to make quick profit without any research... should stay out of Crypto. In the end, quality will make it. Quality-projects and quality-Investors. And quality won't look like PnD.

I won't buy it because of a Tweet. I always defended Alty, but this back and forth looks too manipulative. And a Project-Manager who announces that he will show up in the IRC is ridiculous. It should be normality. In Cloak it's a single news if Alty or a Dev show up.

Maybe I will buy, if there is a PoSA3 that really works and if Cloak is open source.

$5 a coin would put NEOS at a $10 million market cap and in the top 10 on CMC.  That's pretty ambitious, to say the least.
I agree, the price will rise, but not to $5 in the next month or so, i could see neos hitting $1 soon. Slow growth is what you want.

In my opinions it's too early to speculate much about future prices. It's the beginning and it will depend on development, competitors and I think, it's also about the Bitcoin-price. Should there be a price-rise of Bitcoin it could affect the Altcoinmarket.

One mainly reason will help Neos: People are sick of Scams, broken promises, intransparency and vanishing Devs. Therefore I expect, that many will find Neos step by step.
