Well someone are definitely buying very close to the draw, because 2 BTC worth of tickets were bought about 2 hours before

the draw was done. Yes, most of the entries might be coming from FREE ROLL and REWARDS but a spike like that cannot be

from FREE ROLLS and Rewards   Roll Eyes  ... In any way, there are 30 minutes to the DRAW and 1,041,914,195 tickets was

bought/entered so far.  Roll Eyes

Oh yeah, I'm not saying that isn't the case, I was trying to answer your criticism of "Only 1/3 of the money goes towards lottery prizes" when we actually put more into the prize pool than we take from ticket sales. Those increased sales this week have boosted the payout pool and... damn it I missed the end.... but the total payout will be much higher this week.

Edit:

https://twitter.com/freebitco/status/1010912792419815424
1,050,793,433 TICKETS!

So I've got ticket numbers 19,065 to 19,810. Now just waiting on block 529054.

Edit 2:

This morning when I logged in for the first time, I saw the total tickets sold for the Lottery was about 800,000,000+ and just

a few hours {2 hours} before the draw, it jumped up with 200,000,000 tickets.

Well someone are definitely buying very close to the draw, because 2 BTC worth of tickets were bought about 2 hours before

the draw was done.

Actually I am going to argue that. I was talking to wetsuit via email this morning because I had some question about how this works and I wrote an email timestamped 9 hours ago that there were 958,692,240 tickets.

1,050,793,433 - 958,692,240 = 92,101,193 in 9 hours not 200,000,000 in 2 hours.

does activity useful for merits? i dont care about my activity anymore since it doesnt affect my merits.

No activity is not useful for Merits but the old requirement for activity is still in place. Merit is an additional requirement to activity, not a replacement.

Just a quick observation from me :

This morning when I logged in for the first time, I saw the total tickets sold for the Lottery was about 800,000,000+ and just

a few hours {2 hours} before the draw, it jumped up with 200,000,000 tickets. I will watch this more closely from now on, to

see when the most tickets are bought. It average about 100,000,000 tickets per day. Freebitco.in has some great Website

Stats, but I do not see any stats on the Lottery.  Roll Eyes

Last Weeks total tickets for the draw was 1,000,923,029 and we are already at 1,028,958,943 tickets with 1hour 30min to go

to the draw.  Shocked

Last Week 10.00923029 BTC was spend on Lottery tickets and a total of 2.65515091 BTC was paid out to Lottery Winners.

{Only 1/3 of the money goes towards lottery prizes}

It's complicated because not all the tickets are bought and we give away most of the tickets. So 10.00923029 BTC was not spent on the lottery. We actually run it at a loss to attract people to the site.
This week we put in a restriction on redeeming reward points for the top levels of Free BTC bonus on accounts that don't wager or wager very little. It looks like lots of accounts have redeemed for 100 lottery tickets per free roll instead.
3184  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 24, 2018, 01:38:44 PM
I do understand that. The question is, if this new contest will pay out strictly the top 10 wagering users depending on their total wagering volume or this will take in account any other factors (like total won/lost, won/lost in a single spin, random etc.).

OK, now I understand. The competition is just the total wagered amount. Win or lose or any other factors don't matter.
3185  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 24, 2018, 01:14:51 PM
Does it mean the prizes will go out not by the game of chances but exactly for the top 10 wagering accounts?

It difficult to understand what you are asking. All the existing games remain the same and then the wagering contest is a promotion we are running in addition to that.
3186  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 24, 2018, 10:29:58 AM
Congrats to the competition and this is really big reward but I do not see that I can take any part of it because I do not wagered a lot like any big whale here. The rewards is really huge and this is the biggest prize ever that any site offer, congrats to your first competition again

Try and find a whale and persuade them to use your referral link.

Btw about rebranding your domain to crypteer.com are you saying your free bit are going to be deleted? Because people tend to join your site to get some free bit and if they are lucky enough they may get your lottery

The freebitco.in domain is registered until 2025 so it will just redirect to crypteer.com. (crypteer.com redirects to freebitco.in right now). All the old referral links will still work as well. the free rolls will still be there as well. We're just changing the name and adding new stuff.
3187  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 24, 2018, 09:12:41 AM
Have you seen the size of the lottery this week? It's up well above 2BTC which is the biggest I've seen for ages - why so high this week?

We put in a restriction on redeeming reward points for free BTC bonus on accounts that don't wager or wager very little. It looks like lots of accounts have redeemed for lottery tickets instead.

I don't think so that any Nobel Prize owner will say anything about Bitcoin and that could be. I also don't think that btc will have bad times. Many times many peoples or institute try to thumb down to bitcoin but the result on your face. So do not care about bad news about bitcoin, just waste time to think about it. If we see the previous ratio of Bitcoin, we will say Bitcoin don't care any kind of comment. We hope that the price of bitcoin will rise again as a bubble and again and again. Mr Robert Schiller,it will be the bad news for him.

Does it mean all forum members will be counted their activities at the same point of time as the attached image shown.
And the checkpoint will not depend upon their register timepoint.
Do I get your ideas right?

Activity is calculated every hour. Those are the activity periods. It is not possible to increase your activity by more than 14 in any activity period. So if your post count is more than 14 greater than your activity when you first post in the next activity period your activity will increase by 14 on the next hourly update.

the question is closed .... I received the money ... but in my personal statistics there is no transaction of my

The stats table is updated once an hour. We have a huge amount of data to manage and that's a lower priority task than keeping the balances updated.

The safety level it's choosen BY YOU, not by freebtc.

Thank you for pointing that out. Other than using the same password on other sites they can also be compromised by logging in on an insecure network or having malware on your device. Often it is just simply that people use weak passwords that are easily guessed. If you don't use 2FA then your email account can be used to gain access so you need to make sure it is as secure as possible as well.
3191  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 24, 2018, 04:31:48 AM
So even if they assort the userids in ascending order and give tickets accordingly, still they have scope left for increasing the number of tickets of their favoured userid to win the lottery.

The file lists the user IDs and the ticket numbers each one has. You can download a copy of it before the draw. So we don't have scope to change anything.

Just to clarify, would a signed deposit address still work in this case if the 2fa key was lost the sim to a phone number (so you don't have to wait the 7 or so days to get control of the number again).

I wouldn't trust printing out keys and storing them somewhere even if that place is locked. Although, if you stored the encrypted keys then it'd be a bit better -you can brute force it still without them being encrypted.

can we get a live chart for the contest and the amounts that people have wagered in total since the start of July (for when that comes) - not sure if this was already said.

I would set the default withdrawal address on the profile page to one that you can sign a message from. Given that then yes we would be able to disable 2FA if requested.

Backing up your 2FA keys is a personal choice. I use Winauth and that allows you to export the keys to an encrypted file (password or PGP). I keep a copy of that and a print out somewhere I consider being secure. Even with that file someone would still need my accounts email and password.

I think there should be a leaderboard for the contest, at least that's what I suggested.

It's still being developed but yes there will be.

Thanks TheQuin for the fast answer. I never worked before with 2FA but will activate the option soon.

You're welcome. I'd advise you to keep some sort of backup of the secret key. I like to have all mine printed out and locked away.

How to return a full-time bet on free rolls?

I'm guessing you mean full reward?

Play Hi-Lo, Jackpots or buy lottery tickets and/or keep a higher balance. If you don't want to gamble just keep a balance above $50 in value.
3194  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Distribution Slowing? on: June 23, 2018, 03:12:02 PM
I think Theymos doesn’t care much ~

What I would expect are some changes to improve the system because many proposals have been made on this board but none of them have been implemented~

I wouldn't draw that conclusion. I think theymos is someone that is very methodical and will not make changes on a whim. He'll want to give the system enough time to settle down and then take his time planning and fully thinking through any changes to it. Usually, he takes action on things long after I've given up hope of them ever getting fixed. There were several months from when he first proposed something like merit and asked our opinions before implementing it.

Here's another example https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2967890.0 proposed on 17th Feb and a solution on 22nd June.
3195  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 23, 2018, 02:20:14 PM
And it can't be possible that a web that is also used as a wallet had so bad security system so anyone can hack

Did you enable 2FA?
3196  Economy / Reputation / Re: nullius - Where are they now? on: June 23, 2018, 01:44:55 PM
If he was using TOR then the Units of Evil might have got him.

That only applies to signing up a new account, not using an existing one.
3197  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Distribution Slowing? on: June 23, 2018, 01:42:44 PM
That might just be the issue. At least publicly there hasn't been enough users applying to become a merit source.

After seeing how long it took LoyceV to be accepted and even then it was only after digaran quit, I came to the conclusion that there weren't any vacancies. I hope I'm wrong as I do really think there are too few people assigned too much work. It would work far better if there were twice as many merit sources with half as much sMerit each.

I get quite annoyed when all I find are threads like -

Vod ate my hampster

Not as upset as the hampster was.
3198  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 23, 2018, 11:29:11 AM
Wow, this is the first contest since a long time, nice to see that!

Small and maybe stupid question: if I enable 2FA with my mobile phone and my number changes, what to do than ?

The phone number is only used for recovery. If you lost the 2FA key you can get an SMS text message code to log in with. Go to your profile page and there is a "2FA RECOVERY DETAILS" section and you can change the number there.

hello,
can i pay for the copper upgrade in ETH?

I'm pretty sure the Bitcoin Forum only accepts payment in Bitcoin. I see you are already wearing a Copper Membership so I guess you have worked that out.

@Thirdspace and TheQuin I think that our mistake in trying to understand it is that we still use logic.  Grin
I've seen it in the past that when people who have something to hide get into troubles they somehow stop using their brain.
Just like the morons that come in the Reputation section asking for a red trust removal and end up with one or two alts tagged also  Grin

I think you've got it. We were looking for reason where none exists.
