You need win10x64 with blockchan drivers and HBCC enabled to hit 1600-1700h/s xmr

1600 xmr is pretty good.  what is the temp and the watts for that?

my amd ryzen 1800x   cpu does 580 h on  stock clock settings  uses about 70-75 watts more  with this rig
https://www.nicehash.com/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

130 watt for 1600h/s - this is diff between idle and mining with one card measured from the wall, so guess total is near 150 watt ... much more for 1700h/s cause you will need max gpu clock and voltage.
Temps are fine for me - I use liquid cool Vega ))))))))))))))))))))

And one more ... Vega seemes to not need monitor or dummy plug attached for tuning - very convinient ))

I don't see how that has anything to do with Vegas.  If I don't have a monitor or plug in TeamViewer and VNC will not display any video.

Have anyone tried mining with vega frontier edition? Wondering if the extra ram helps with running XMR?
about 2200H/s.  Wink Wink Wink

Is that fast?

Quite fast.

How well does Vega mix with RX5xx GPUs?
Thinking of switching some of the weaker cards for my new Vega's while I wait for the new mobo. How well do they actually play together? I'm using the blockchain driver already...

I run one Vega 56 with 3 570s and 2 580s, no problem.

Has anyone gotten castXMR working on an SSL server on port 443? I haven't had success yet. What's the connection string for supportXMR, for example?

PLEASE add an API ASAP!

I'm trying to set up my own monitoring solution using a .NET app I wrote that launches Cast and redirects the stdout and stderr to my app so that I can parse the text Cast spits out.  But I'm not getting the console output from Cast and I can't figure out why.
or at least log to a file option...

Just run "castxmr.exe > log.txt". It'll redirect stdout to a file. Monitor it however you like. Done.

I tried that but nothing gets written to the file until you quit Cast.  I wonder if that's related to the reason when I try to redirect stdout when I launch Cast from a .NET app I also don't get any output?  This would be so easy if I could just get Cast's output in real time.  As it stands right now I have absolutely no way to get data out of Cast.  The only other thing I can think of is try pipes but I suspect I will have the same issue.

The real solution anyway is a proper API.

You are correct a redirect such as "castxmr.exe > log.txt" only write to file on exit.

Only way I can think of to do what you are wanting is an OCR running over the window

Yeah I haven't figured out how to do that yet.  I may have to stick with XMR Stak for now, at least it has an API.

The price wont rise until the supply slows down theres now 441 million coins. thats 40 million in last couple weeks. There will be close to 500 million by christmas. Would not panic buy there will always be someone selling some  Smiley

That's a 20% monthly inflation rate... completely insane! actually I'm surprised the price has not crattered even more.

How long the supply it is supposed to continue to grow at this rate?

Our hyperinflation is estimated at 600-800 million coins before slowing down.

Thanks! I hope you guys the best  Smiley

So, now is the great time to mine MUSIC. I think price could drop even more during this hyperinflation period.

There are far more profitable coins to mine.  If you believe the price will skyrocket soon that's one thing but I see no evidence it will.  It just keeps going down while other alts are spiking, some to all time highs.

Hope Windows 10 Fall Creator's Update will allow 13 Vegas on an H110 motherboard.  That is going to be sweet.

Whats the point of that really? Its barely stable with 6, can't imagine the pain of having 13 on the same board. Not to mention the type of power supplies with 26 8pins needed to handle all that.

I'm sure stability will get there eventually.  For now I'm planning on 6 or 8 Vegas per rig, with the ability to go up to 13 if and when it can be stable.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / No video in TeamViewer or VNC after boot until I plug in a monitor on: November 19, 2017, 09:28:17 PM
H110 motherboard.  I've tried both integrated and PCI for primary display in the BIOS, no difference.  As soon as I plug in a monitor I get video in TeamViewer and VNC until I reboot again.

I'm assuming a dummy plug will solve this?  Does it matter if the plug goes into the integrated DVI-D port or any port on one of my GPUs?  Probably as long as it matches what my primary is set to in the BIOS but that may not matter.

Finally got my 8x Vega 56 rig up and running. Feel your pain... ran into a lot of the issues you described. Am having some stability issues, had to bring the recommended clocks down a little.

Windows 10?   Fall Creators Update or an earlier version?

What motherboard?

332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: VEGA rig and H110 Pro+ , How do manage all the extra power connectors? on: November 19, 2017, 09:16:55 PM
Research HP server PSUs with breakout boards.  Google parallelminer and browse their website.

Not only will you get more power cables but it will be cheaper than ATX PSUs.

Just a side note, these are not Molex connectors.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: November 17, 2017, 08:57:48 PM
I typically get around 5% outdated shares on NiceHash and between 5 and 13% on other pools.  On XMR Stak I basically get 100% "good" shares.  Is XMR Stak just hiding outdated shares or does Cast really do have more bad shares than Stak?  5% (let alone 13%) is a lot and negates any better hash rate vs Stak.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How would you power 12 Vegas on one rig? Need suggestions. on: November 17, 2017, 01:39:42 AM
HP server PSUs are ridiculously inexpensive and they're higher efficiency than ATXs.  I guess the downside will be noise but that's pretty much irrelevant anyway with Vegas.

I'm going to do six Vegas as a starting point then evaluate.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How would you power 12 Vegas on one rig? Need suggestions. on: November 16, 2017, 11:30:47 PM
Trying to design a 12 Vega 56 rig based on a H110 PRO BTC+ motherboard (I realize that this may not even be feasible from an operating system/driver support view yet but I am confident it eventually will be).  Given that the Vegas require 2 8 pin power cables plus you need to power the riser it's kind of tricky to figure out the best way to power all this.

I am thinking maybe a 750W ATX PSU to power the MB and two of the 12 Vegas.  That leaves 10 to be powered from a 2400W HP server PSU (which should be enough wattage) using a breakout board with 24 8 pin cables.  20 of the 24 cables would go to the Vegas which would leave 4 to power 10 risers.  I would use splitters to get enough connections for the risers or I could power some of them off the ATX PSU.

Is there a simpler/better way to do this?  I could also use two ATX PSUs but that is a lot more money, especially to achieve the same efficiency that the HP could achieve.  Plus I don't think ATXs would have anywhere near the number of available power cables.

Another option to simplify things is limit the rig to 6 or 8 Vegas and fill in the rest with RXs I have, though at this point I don't plan on buying any more RXs unless they drop to well below $200.

I'm running 4 Vega 56 with stock BIOS and was able to get 1950 h/s on 3 of them, but my 4th is only running at 1720 h/s. I am using block chain drivers, tried disabling and re-enabling everything and all of the cards are over clocked to the exact same settings. Anyone know of any reason why this might be happening?

What brands?  I have a PowerColor (1850 H/s) and it does 100 H/s less than my GigaByte and Sapphire (1950 H/s) on the same settings.

Is anyone here running their Vegas on one 8 pin PCIe cable split into 2 6+2 connectors? I know daisy chaining can be bad but the cables that came with the PSU ( Corsair hx1000 ) are heavy duty compared to other PCIe cables with only one 6+2 connection.

I am running mine at the  2x8pin (technically 8 + 6+2pin)  cables that came with my corsairs. don't you have enough of these? with the rm1000x there are 4 of these per psu.

Yeah I have 4x 8pin to 2x6+2pin. Up till now I've only been running 2 Vegas from the PSU using two cables per Vega. Just read a lot of horror stories regarding daisy chaining PCIe cables, although most of this is people using the splitters. I didn't find much info on wether it was safe to use one PCIe cable for each vega

I tried running a 56 off a splitter, seemed to work fine but it was just one.  Next I will try two 56s off the same cable.  Corsair CX750M.  I am mining CryptoNight though, not EthHash, which is very gentle on power compared to EthHash.

I wouldnt run two Vegas on one 8pin cord from the PSU.  Your options are either two risers or both plugs on one GPU.

I guess I don't understand your recommendation.  What do you mean two risers?

So is the august blockchain driver still required? Or has 17.11.1 update finally fixed all the issues when toggling compute? Haven't had time to play around with drivers lately Sad

I'd like to know that as well.  My concern with the new drivers is that I will have to keep re-turning Compute mode on every time Wattman crashes.
