Your algorithm/miner is about using hard drive, so if it's something relates to Proof-of-Capacity (PoC) it should be very nice. I always like the idea of PoC which is very simple and mostly dont consume any energy, one of that is Burst coin as you mentioned. I really like Burst coin because its community is very nice, and I'm also mining Burst with ~80Tb capacity, but it likes I'm mining for fun now, the difficulty level already 3x since last December.

I'm remotely controlling a mini farm just by using a laptop via Teamviewer/VNC... For your rigs, you just need to: start Teamview and miner software (create a shortcut of miner then put it in startup folder) with window, and dont forget to configure automatic power in Bios setting: Restore on AC/Power Loss -> set to ‘Power On’ or/and Restore AC Power Loss -> set to ‘Always On’. And if you want to make auto hard reset, check it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1933467.0

You could find some low-medium difficult coins to mine, your GPUs have very high intensity, so, I prefer Feather coin (FTC) and Vertcoin (VTC), their difficulty is quite flat and price is quite stable, I always keep them in the top list if I switch mining from ETH to other altcoins. But whatever, I think the best strategy at this down trend is still mine big Altcoins (ETH or ZEC) then you use them to buy other altcoins.

I always advise my friends buy GPU rigs because you could do a lot with it, manage, test, play with it and of course get profit with it. If you could get Asics miner at very first batch, you should grab it, it's a good deal, but if you're late with for example 3rd or 4th batch, consider it carefully, manufacturers typically release new miner which always has 2x power more than previous one after 9 months or 1 year. Also, for asics miner, you have to deal with more thing such as noise, maintenance, and warranty.

I definitely believe the achievement of Swapy Network project will continue to increase, the team looks very solid and it's amazing when Swapy has both Don Tapscott and Tim Draper in advisor board. Also it seems like the project is increasingly seen by investors. Hopefully Swapy Network can be successful in accordance with the predetermined targets.

I think so, for example of XMR, as I remember we have 2 period which the hashrate climb started: in November as Vega (the best Monero miners) got widespread, and the 2nd hashrate surge in February, but it doesnt make sense because Vega supply dried up very quickly. Maybe the Asics guys had started their very first batch during this time. Bitmain ever sold GPU miners only in CN, but it seems like they stop it quick.

Hi GimMaCrypto, welcome to crypto mining! I have tested many mainboards which include all the mainboards you mentioned, I would like to say Gigabyte GA- H110 D3A and Asus Strix B250H gaming mainboard are my favorite, both are cheap, durable, stable and quite high performance. The only concern about GA- H110 D3A is you should check carefully about Boost option in bios setting. For your 2nd question, I want to share one of my 1070Ti rig: 8xMSI 1070Ti, CPU: Celeron G3930 , RAM 4Gb, SDD 64Gb, Virtual RAM I set to 16Gb. And make sure you buy good PSUs. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FzXaqR3D.jpg&t=663&c=T2r7mSRB1zsr0g)

For me, I always mine coin for long term holding, so I dont spend much time on looking daily price. Actually, I have to sell a bit for electric bill each month, and some of my friends who already joined mining few years, they all said in some long and deep down trend, they even mined BTC without any profit.

Bitmain released Antminer X3 for CryptoNight, but Monero is switch algorithm, and actually the new chip could not be tape out quick, depends on the silicon process, so I think if Monero changes algorithm each few months, it could kill such kind of cryptonight ASICs for sure. It's interesting that my friends who are mining ETH and ZEC, they asked me the same question as well, I'm not sure about ETH (it's going to use PoS maybe next few years), but for ZEC it requires a massive amounts of RAM and it limited by memory access, so it strong resistant.

Hi ngocminh, nice to have a Vienamese ask about mining here. To turn of window 10 update, you go step by step as following:
• In RUN type “services.msc“, the services page will be open • Search for “Windows Update“ • Click “Stop” if status is “Live” or “Checking/Running“ • Select “Disabled” on “Startup type“ • Apply & Restart • Do it again and make sure that it is disabled • Also if you want you can disable more services..
This is old info and no longer works with newer builds of Windows 10. The fall 2017 build and newer will simply re-enable the service after a few days or a reboot. There currently is no easy way to stop windows 10 from updating itself. It requires registry hacks and I've only successfully been able to stop it on one rig, but I don't know which of the 100 changes I made actually did it. Sorry if it doesnt help. Most of my rigs are using Window 10 version 1603 and I set like that, so far so good. Typically, I let miner's program start with Window (create a shortcut of miner then put it in startup folder - typing this in search bar "shell: startup"), so if it updates, I think no problem. But as I remember, I did the same thing on a new rig which is running in version 1709 Fall Creator, it works. I rechecked with this thread, it looks like there's nothing to do with window update in new version as you mentioned: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3034586.0

What’s best way to learn?
Of course, doing what you want to learn, Learning by doing is the best way. Read some specific tutorial referring to what will you do that you can find anywhere (Youtube, Forum or whatever). When you get in trouble, you can ask here, and for sure we will help you. Yeah, your're absolutely right. During the time I built very first rigs, I watched a lot of youtube tutorials from Bits Be Trippin', Voskcoin, IMineBlocks and CryptoCurrency Network. I just started step by step, get problems -> search/check tutorials and debug, again and again. Now I build a rig very quick without any problem.

Hello all,
I have a RX 570 Rig with 6 cards, everything is OK without the auto update in windows 10, I tried all the tips to turn off the auto update but it still run somewhere. So how can I completely turn it off?
Thanks guy.

Do you have plan on extending your mining such as mini farm with few rigs (plan A), or just stick with 300 mhs (plan B). If it's A, you should mine for long term holding, for B, I think it's mostly like your hobby. I'm the guy who love mining, and I keep building more rigs for mining ETH, but the cost I need to pay is just ~0.087$/kwh. So the key points for your references: GPU's price is very expensive these days, and your electric cost is very expensive (0.26$/kwh).
Btw, for your other concerns: I prefer mining ETH rather than nicehash, and of course your rig could last even more than 3 years.

I followed Beka's Yotube channel for a while. I learned a lot from him on setting up and build mining farm, making ventilation..., and I'm owning a mini mining farm now. Of course, I think this mining project will be very successful.

P104-100 could do 40 mh/s with tuned timing, it's ddr5x 256bit. The quote from article is P102-100 - ddr5x 320-bit and hashrate is ~47 mh/s. I think if it has the mining bios, it could do further 50+ mhs ETH for sure even it's based off of 1080 Ti, because of its wider memory bus. My distributor said somebody here already made reservation with ~ 1025$/unit. Actually, I dont think I would be ready for that price.
