321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Encrypted wallet.dat, lost password, any solutions? on: November 29, 2013, 10:39:03 PM
Hi, I was just wondering does anyone know of a work around for the Protoshares wallet?

There doesn't seem to be a protosharesd.exe in my program files like there are with the other coins, just the main folder with protoshares-qt and the folder in the %appdata% containing the wallet.dat

I have the password written down so not sure how I have managed to mess it up, any help much appreciated thanks

I have a 7870XT and get between 395kh/s and 420kh/s depending on the miner.

Why not look at a 7950 if you can get hold of one, they will be available for a similar price, but from what I've read you can get over 600 kh/s out of one.

At 390kh/s you can mine around 0.23 LTC a day at current difficulty, so may be worth looking at multiple cards

326  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Different Prices on MtGox and BTC-E on: November 06, 2013, 08:13:35 PM
I think it has to do with the fees that MtGox charge and also the fact that it near impossible to withdraw any USD out of MtGox

Like the previous poster stated mining BTC is now very expensive and your not guaranteed to make a return on what you spent on the mining equipment as the difficulty rises too fast. It is probably wiser to invest that money directly into buying BTC on an exchange and hopefully make a profit as the price rises.

If your interested in getting into mining, it would probably make more sense to look at some of the newer coins that can still be mined with a GPU or CPU. There is plenty of information about alternative crypto's on this forum, it's an interesting way to learn about crypto's and how they work as well Smiley
