Do not be happy that bitcoin is banned by some countries because of this many are afraid to invest in it. Sad

I didn't mention that at any moment,

In fact I believe that if they haven't moved a finger when it was $20000, they will never do. Why? The "it's only a kids experiment" sounds too weak an argument to me at this stage. It's too hard to believe that our beloved politicians are not acting because they don't see BTC as a threat.

We are pretty much on uncharted territory.

I think Bitcoin might actually go up in a recession.

The real economy is mostly made up of small business, mom and pop type places, the same kind of people that hold and invest in bitcoin.  It isn't widely held by institutions.  Bitcoin futures probably helped with that, so now if institutions want to place a position they go to the futures and not bitcoin itself.

My experience with the capital needs of a small business during a recession back in 2008ish, I was buying Pilgrim's Pride in bankruptcy and waiting for it to turn around.  But lo and behold, before I could wait for Pilgrims to completely turn around I had to sell my position to pay for working capital in the small business.  I think that and fear will lead people to sell.  If it's down in good economic times, what is your thesis for how it does well during a recession?  The only difference would be if the dollar tanked by a large amount.  Say the /DX went from 90 to sub 70 and there was a panic on the dollar.

You are thinking as there is only one economy in the world, the USA. That's not a valid assumption any more. Also real economies stopped being supported by mom and pop businesses about 10-15 years ago, at least in the industrialized world I live in. Now we are in the league of multinationals, and every day that passes by means another bunch of small businesses closed for retirement or out of businesses reasons.

What's BTC gonna do on a recession: no one knows, as there is not a valid track record yet. Bulls will say it's going to behave as a store of value (gold 2.0), others as a depressed asset...  Who knows, nobody does.

Rob from traders point of view staking amount for magnitude in general should be as high as possible because it will increase demand for BBP on exchanges. BBP finally should have increased its value what will be good and motivating for everybody involved in BBP.

But also from trader's point of view, having only two exchanges (only one if you don't already have c-cex account) is a threat to liquidity and price discovery transparency. This will have to be addressed sooner or later.

Things seem to get more and more stable as hour pass. Great job Rob and all testers.

żany plans on when to notify exchanges to enable wallets again? Thanks.

why all miners stop working after few minutes (cpu usage goes to 0-1 %) ? tried to delete all data in .biblepaycore, tried minersleep=0, tried compile latest source code (this morning), it is NOT working.

why there are only few miners in the leaderboard? what is going on ?

Please read about new mining system:

In sum, no more pure heat-based PoW, no need for pool any more.

I've been around for a while and I have only seen hard work and commitment behind this project. It might not be enough to keep it alive for years (who knows), but if there is a way to succeed, is this.

You can drop every 2 months, read in diagonal and think you've done your research. But you haven't.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about Shekel (JEW), perfect coin for first time masternode? on: March 04, 2018, 09:40:17 AM
Interesting. I've been following Shekel last week and it's quite affordable to set up a master-node. However, the project itself didn't convince much. I am holding SMART now ad I'd recommend you to look at it if you're considering a masternode.

Too many concerns about SMART MN not getting payed, strange bugs, dev team getting 70%... Man this reeks greed. Thanks anyway

Several ones, just look it up on their site. www.shekel.io

The price for a masternode is so cheap right now

Thank you for the reference! Will consider soon, but remember, cheap is relative. Many people payed thousands for MN and now they only pile a bunch of losses.

I'm not optimistic about getting rid of botnet (or botnets) because they can switch to new PoDC at some moment. Anyway they will contribute to cancer research and definitely this is the way to go for BBP.

Giving meaning to the coin (charity, orphans, cancer research, banking the unbanked) means adding highest value and a will for persistence, in a world where we will see hundreds of crapcoins wiped out sooner or later.

any progress on having BBP listed on other exchanges? Cryptobridge or similar would be a boost for the coin.

If budget is a problem, I would ask how much is there available for such purposes?

331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about Shekel (JEW), perfect coin for first time masternode? on: March 03, 2018, 10:26:52 PM
Had 2 masternodes setup for some days now, really great profit!  Cheesy
Thanks to the Shekel Discord chat, they're extremely helpful with setting up MN  Smiley

Are there instructions on how to set one up?

I don't like pre-mined coins though. And price action don't like it either.

Oh, and I came across a couple of people now that have been mining on a fork because they didn't update their wallets when a mandatory came out. Of course, this is the responsibility of individuals to keep their wallets updated, but if you're not on this forum/reddit/etc every couple of days, you might miss an update. I was wondering what we could do to keep people more in the loop with these kind of things, and I thought that maybe it's an idea to start a newsletter (when we have our new website), to inform people not only about updates, but also about our roadmap and new charities etc. I know I should talk about this with Thomas and April I guess, but still I just wanted to put it out there to see if others have better ideas about our flow of information.

I was also wondering if it was maybe possible to have the wallet check for new mandatories from time to time? I have no idea about the technicalities of that.

That would be easy, just serve last valid version value somewhere at biblepay.org and let the wallet software check it at startup or similar.

*** POOL.BIBLEPAY.ORG is back UP ***

Not sure that it's properly synced. It says last block 31726 when we are already on 31741 and I made a withdrawal to BE2XrQurnfzbqAGgMX9F8dXEyReML2Zr6H (apparently worked fine and it shows in transaction history) but it's not in showing in the block explorer.

You might consider moving to another cloud provider which doesn't suck...

I had some mining machines here for example
https://www.cloudware.bg

100% 24/7 mining BBP ( Grin) and no problemo. Good service.

you mean invest vps for  masternode ?  this is my first look about this sevice provider ,but i will do some research.

I meant for hosting the pool. I used it in the past because of the cheap cores for mining. There are probably better options for Masternodes.

I thought "Bulgarian cloud for mining what can go wrong?" But actually cost/performance was awesome.

Thanks Rob, do you ever sleep?

I'm trying to withdraw from pool.biblepay.org but when clicking the link in the notification email it shows a blank page.

Do others have the same issue?

it seems C-Cex has new registration open again, but it requires an "invite code". Does anyone know how to obtain it? Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is what you need, but if you are looking for a referral code, here's mine: Wink
https://c-cex.com/?rf=29F403E9D90AC0CC

Thank you but it must be something different because this just shows the home page.

I'm checking the c-cex thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=418700.3460

but they say there are no invites at the moment (!?)

Although I am not a deeply religious person, it still seems to me immoral to use manipulations with the Bible in the context of ico.

There is neither premine nor ico here in BBP. All coins are hard earned.
