321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC daily volume supports a lower price not a higher price! on: April 09, 2018, 12:53:47 PM
What is your basis on saying this? All of us can see how bitcoin works and in this current situation the price is still fighting the dip, we all know how bitcoin can bump its price to its highest.

If you will give us a good basis that we can rely on maybe we will trust you.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India banned bitcoin but I don’t want to quit bitcoins ?? on: April 09, 2018, 12:49:22 PM

If India banned bitcoin,I will continue because we are not an Indian people. We are Filipino and in our country its not yet be ban so continue use on it.If our country going to ban bitcoin then that the time I will going to stop because theres nothing we can do just to respect what our govenment rules about it.
You did not help him bro, I think if there is nothing good you can say in a thread dont waste your time on replying here and dont waste our time reading your non sense reply dont just post to get the required activity on your sig campaign!

For the OP, I think it will help if you and other bitcoin user in your country will have a group and try to file an appeal to your government because in your case it will broke your life if that will totally happen.
323  Other / Meta / Re: BIG! Merit Farming on: April 09, 2018, 12:34:19 PM
Briefly, this is one of the most favorable approach of merit beggars to earn merits. Serious users, especially high ranked users tend to hate spammers, merit farmers, merit exchangers, hence they tend to give their sMerits away easier to such merit-abused report.
I highly appreciate the topic author to catch those abusers and help cleaning up the forum. However, I don't think that spend most of time in the forum to do this task is the right decision.
Instead, users should focus on their learning process, spend most of their time to learn, and help other members (if they have ability to help based on their current knowledge, skills, experience). If they find abusers by chance, let's report them to moderators.
I don't think they should only focus on finding and reporting abusers during their time in the forum.
Cheers,
No for me its worth it! Aside from contributing a good thing in this community, I really hate those kind of users because it decreases our chance to get some merit they are affecting the circulation and that is why I want them to get punished by the admins.

This is great that this OP investigates this abuse and I appreciate this too.

Still, if we fight spam then there should be a pinned topic for merit system abuse where you can add your findings. Why open hundred merit abuse threads?

As I already stated in the OP, I separated this topic because it is a big one case if this case is not that big I will add this to my old merit abuse compilation.

There is no rules here I violated and I dont do this for merits for me the big reward here is to get them punished and merit is just a bonus.

Edit: Besides I already know that it will be too impossible for me to rank up to Full-member because I know how hard to get merits now.
324  Other / Meta / Re: Abusive Merit Giveaway on: April 05, 2018, 07:01:49 AM
Ther are 2 kinds of merit give away thread the first is the honest one everyone can notice that the event is legit by checking their merit summary after the event, and the other one is the cheater and his/her main purpose is to give a huge amount of merit to his alts take a deep look on this report I created.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3189979.0

I can say here that dont judge anyone until you have reasonable proofs, because I can see that you are judging that user without a proof.

Abusers will always think a way on how they can cheat on every system, and for me admins and mod's have to be strict to this system because everytime they dont make action to an abuse it will increase the number of the abusers.

It will be unfair for us if they dont get punished.
325  Other / Meta / Re: [PROPOSAL] Disable Merit on Local Boards. on: April 04, 2018, 02:44:41 PM
Your suggestion punishes everyone that does not speak English, and would cause these people to post even more impossible-to-understand nonsense to the English boards in an attempt to gain merit.
Exactly. Users who don't understang English but want to earn Merit would be forced to post in English boards with help of Google Translate. But it's obvious that their posts will be hardly understandable and nobody will give Merit them. English boards are already full of low quality posts written in broken English, why we need to make everything even worse.
If you see Merit abuse on local boards, don't be lazy and report it, I don't think it's more difficult to notice it than on English boards.
For me its good because they will improve their english skills it may also benefit them not only here but also in their personal life.
326  Other / Meta / Re: BIG! Merit Farming on: April 04, 2018, 01:44:15 PM
Bumping...

Please give some attention or action to this case, if we just let them to do this other user's will think that its ok if they abuse the system because only few people gets punished on abusing merit system.

327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Check your sMerit and Other Info in merits. on: April 04, 2018, 01:37:55 PM
I see some video on how to see how much sMerit you can give but don't experience it since I don't have merit so I can experience how to give sMerit to others.
Just keep on learning & researching all the things you need and make your self a good example to other newbies.
Increase your knowledge everyday and your post quality one day you will get your first merit and it will motivate you to do more and help other people on what they need.
328  Other / Meta / [PROPOSAL] Disable Merit on Local Boards. on: April 04, 2018, 12:29:25 PM
Another "merit thread" but please give it a time to read.

Merit system is "hot trend" right now in our community many user's are still complaining about this system and many of the high rank members are being rude to them.

But I notice that many this members complaining about the system has a good quality posting (Im not telling that all of them).

Then I realized that some of those complainants are contributing good quality post and helping other newbies/people in this community but they cant get merit points because of this reasons:

-Some of us has too much standard to merit a post.
-Many user's hold their sMerit for evil purposes.
-Maybe the merit source are not enough especially many of them are not active on distributing merit.
-They give high amount of merits to "ANN Threads" 20's-50's But I think Ann thread's dont need to be merited.
-But this is the biggest problem why the merits circulation is not enough, those "Merit Abusers" we all know that many of them holds a high amount of sMerit especially those people who has many high rank accounts.

So Im suggesting this proposal to reduce the possibility to abuse the merit system.

I know that soon they will be out of merit's but for sure they dont care anymore as long as they already maximize the rank that they can get on abusing merit system.

My Suggestion is to limit the section/board that everyone can send merit, especially disable sending merits on local boards because in my experience on hunting those merit abusers I see a lot of abuse on local boards that I dont understand and got lazy sometimes to translate the each pages to make a report.

Ex. this user.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=965089
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1108972

Try to check their merit summary and you will see a lot of connected accounts meriting each other on their local boards thread some of them are obviously alts and maybe some of them are friends.

Limiting boards that can send merit will surely reduce this merit abuse case and it will be easier to track those abusers.

The bad effect of this is we will flood post on section's that can send and receive merits...

FUN FACT: I think it will be also good if we ban sending/receiving merits on meta to see who are the people really wants to help and people who just post here to earn some merits.  Smiley

How to Check your sMerit (Sendable Merits)

I know that many of us already know how to do this but there are many other users will find this hard especially to those newbies.

Im also having trouble with this before I dont know how I can see the recent merit so I keep looking on the post here with a link of recent merits.  Grin

In this topic they will also learn that their merits will not be deducted if they send their sMerit to someone, because some of the users think this way.

In this topic Im going to teach you how to check your sMerit and this:

Merit stats
-Recent merits
-Top-merited recent topics
-Top-merited topics, all-time
-Top-merited recent replies
-Top-merited replies, all-time
-Top-merited users, recent merit
-Top-merited users, all-time
-Most generous recent merit senders
-Most generous merit senders, all time
-Merit sources

First: Checking your sMerit.

*Go to your profile > Click Merit
You will see your merit Summary and look above Merit Summary for [YOURNAME] you can see...

*Bitcoin Forum > Merit > Merit summary for 1993jochico

In there you can already see your sMerit and your merit summary.

Second: and the last but not the least.

*In your sMerit page = At the Lower Left Bottom of the Page you will see Merit Stats click it and you will see all of this:

-Recent merits
-Top-merited recent topics
-Top-merited topics, all-time
-Top-merited recent replies
-Top-merited replies, all-time
-Top-merited users, recent merit
-Top-merited users, all-time
-Most generous recent merit senders
-Most generous merit senders, all time
-Merit sources

Hope it helps.  Smiley
330  Other / Meta / Re: Local Merit Sources Problem on: April 03, 2018, 11:29:38 AM
I dont like the idea, this is a bias idea and will cause too many merit abuse on local boards.

Yes, I know there are too many members that cant speak or write good english even "ME" I cant write or speak english well but I do research and I use google translate sometimes its a challenge it is also good for us to learn.

In fact I really want to suggest to "disable the merit sending on local boards" because every time I check recent merits to look for abusers I can see that there is a HUGE number of merit abuse on local's they think that we cant notice them because we cant understand them, sometimes I ignore some of abuse because Im lazy to translate the page.
331  Other / Meta / Re: BIG! Merit Farming on: April 02, 2018, 05:39:17 PM
User already reported https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2896910.msg33757489#msg33757489
Report them where everyone is doing so it's easier to track https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2896910.0

or you just spamming 3ds to get more merit? Wink
It is not important for me if I get merits or not. The only thing that matters for me every time I make my reports is the contribution to the forum, merit is just a bonus.

Your report is incomplete and for me this is a big case that admin/mods/DT members needs to pay attention, that's why I separated it as it is stated above.

332  Other / Meta / Re: My 2 cents about actual MERIT system + Possible SOLUTION! on: April 02, 2018, 05:26:49 PM
I created a topic like this before here's the link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3058545.0

Our topic has a small similarities, I posted that topic because that time I dont know what to do because I know that it will be too hard for me to earn merits as a newbie.

Back to the topic, I can see that your suggestion can cause a block of words without meaning in that
120-130+ (characters) to gain your activity, in short it will just cause spam.

My advice:
When you see an informative posts (not just random bull*hit or spam) and you have got some merit's to spend, don't hesitate and do it. Just don't look at the account rank/nickname or anything else.
I agree to you with this one, we need to prioritize those users who needs it the most and contributing good things to the community of course.

In addition Im contented with the merit system now, though it is really too hard to get but as I said on this topic I created, "Lets make our weakness to be our Strenght"
333  Other / Meta / BIG! Merit Farming on: April 02, 2018, 04:14:32 PM
I separated this post to this thread because this is a big case and maybe needed a close attention to make an action immediately.

If you disagree on what I stated above please inform me if I need to move this thread to my list above.

6 High rank accounts involved:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=503914 Legendary

At first I only notice that this post dont deserve 15 merits

At first I thought that his post are worthy to this amounts of merit but then I found out that this posts are all copy-paste to the news, though he add the source to skip the plagiarism.

His/Her Strategy: Make long copy paste post for him not to be notice by anyone if he gets the merit and add the source, Then send merits from his alts.

EDIT: Accounts registration are close aside from the main Legendary account.

We cant ignore this kind of abuse too many high rank accounts for one user.
334  Other / Meta / Re: To all the Complainants of the Merit System on: April 02, 2018, 02:36:48 PM
I can's say that the number of shit low quality posts became like much lower, but I see people are trying their best to rank up.
Unfortunately not everyone here have perfect English skills or wide vocabulary to write long posts. This is that group of users which is really suffer from merit requirements and if the level of weak posts got lower the number of begging posts raised, so one just replaced the other  Cheesy
Yeah right...  Smiley

But if they are really interested in this world they will surely try harder to expand their English skills.

Many newbies wasting their time on complaining about the system, they dont think that if they spend that wasted time to study and research and learn about the cryptoworld and forum they might be a "PRO" on the next 3 months or less.
335  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is falling down. on: April 02, 2018, 02:26:18 PM
If we really want the cryptoworld to grow we can help by telling our friends, family, co-workers etc. and at the same time give them some knowledge about crypto currency so that if one of your friends get interested about on what you said it has a chance that they will invest on it and if that happen you already help the cryptoworld to grow even they spend a little money. They will soon understand and learn more and they will invest more.
336  Other / Meta / To all the Complainants of the Merit System on: April 02, 2018, 07:23:09 AM
Make our weakness to be our strength.

I made this thread to influence others that still complaining about the merit system.

First of all Hi to all of those members in this forum that still dont like the MERIT system.

After 2 months of the system I see a lot of difference and good effects of the merit system even though Im newbie here too I do some research about how they post before here in the forum without the merit system.
-I can see that the system really less the spam post.
-Some of the farmers get tagged.
-I also notice that almost all of the members have increased their post quality.

Before I also think that the system is too unfair for the newbies like us I also make a complain thread before about the system and called CRY BABY, shitposter, etc of some high rank members and Im so upset so I really do my best to earn merits because I want to prove them that Im not that kind of people that they are thinking.
So I started to research and study very hard to make some good quality of post and help newbies then someone merited me of my post and Im so happy then I start to think on how I can help the forum and try to report some merit abusers without the intention to get some merits but just to help the community.

Then one day, I realized that I am really now a part of this community and by doing all of that I receive some merits. And I also notice that Im better than other people before that calls me a shitposter, crybaby etc..

I also realized that this merit system help's me a lot to learn easily, merit system push me to research and study the forum.

I feel how you feel being a newbie, Im also a newbie here too we can make this system our benefit's to ourselves by pushing our self to learn faster.

We can be better than them and show them that we are deserving to rank up more than those high ranks shitposter and still dont get at least 1 merit in the 2 months existent of the system.

Make a self-study-Push yourselves-Try harder-Be Better.
337  Other / Meta / Re: Don't give me merit on: April 02, 2018, 06:35:33 AM
tl;dr
-another merit thread. check!
-another merit system complain. check!
-another bitterness about the system. check!
-blocks of text. check!

Sorry but I already read a lot of thread's like this and I know already what is the content of this kind of post.

Not telling that your a shitposter but there's nothing we can do about the merit system, its already implemented and has a good result in the forum. Live with it.  Smiley

Give time to your post, dont get obsessed, merits will come.

339  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Been away for so long on: March 31, 2018, 04:10:38 PM
Maybe some of your post have been deleted and thats why you didnt make it to member rank before you leave, and maybe its a bad news for you that we have a new requirements now on ranking up.

You need merit points not to increase your rank to member or higher it is more harder now than before but it is also good to newbies because they are will be able to force their selves to learn quickly to get some merit points and rank up.
340  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin price is falling down. on: March 31, 2018, 02:10:22 PM
Bitcoin price is falling down, falling down, falling down...
Bitcoin price is falling down, but dont worry.

I see a lot of thread about why bitcoin price is so down in the past few days, though Im not a bitcoin holder I search what is the main reason about this and I also want to know do people really need to panic.

Some of the threads Ive read is "Is this the end of bitcoin"?

"

All the major cryptocurrencies have taken a battering this week, declining by nearly $100billion across seven days.

Bitcoin (BTC) took heavy losses, dropping by 12.6 percent, from $7,900 to $6,600 in a 24 hour period.

While bitcoin managed some resistance at the $6,600 mark, it showed little sign of recovery.

Why is bitcoin dropping today?
Bitcoin last hit these lows in early February, 2018, dipping just below $6000 before spiking to $12,000, so investors should remain hopeful that history repeats itself.

Cryptocurrencies have been under intense scrutiny this last week amid continuing dissatisfaction in how tech companies such as Facebook secure and distribute user data.

It’s hard to say what the cause of this current crash is outside of a general mistrust in technology.

The biggest crypto coin wasn’t the only one to suffer from the slump, as the whole market endures a bearish trend.

Bitcoin has been known before to bounce back from bearish rends before, and there is no reason to think it won’t do the same again."
