321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Smart Contracts on: November 25, 2014, 07:34:27 PM
Do any of these other projects have a white paper besides ripple's Codius?

http://files.ripoffcoin.com/whitepaper_ripoffcoin.pdf

Thanks Stealth, you are the most helpful person on this site.  I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up being the real Satoshi Nakamoto. Wink

For all your help, please let me know if you need anything in return, maybe an XRP or two since you talk about it soo much?

323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: November 25, 2014, 12:39:19 AM
BTC, LTC and RIPPLE

Two first as the most.

LTC and Ripple have both played their hand and it wasn't very impressive.  What else do they have left to offer that's going to get peoples' attention?  What exciting developments do they have in the pipeline?  Not much.  Neither look like a potential candidate to be a game-changer.  Neither look like a sound investment.  If you're looking at alts, look for something innovative that actually has potential to move up.

Ripple has nothing left to offer and doesnt have potential to be a game changer lol?? They have a team of over 60 working hard every day on a protocol that banks and financial institutions will need to stay competitive in the future.

Maybe they don't offer you individually anything, but there are people building on top of ripple right now just like netscape was in 1994 ontop of http. Those are the people that are going to make the profits that you're looking for...
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinion: Why Ripple/XRP Doubled In Value in Less Than A Week on: November 24, 2014, 08:27:35 PM
to OP : i bet you regret creating this post by now

Why? He's been on here for years (way before he joined the RL team) and states his opinion every so often.  What is there to regret?  He knew the premine shit would come along but maybe there was a chance of a successful conversation on bitcointalk but it failed once again.  There were other threads asking this question, so he started his own.  There was not one thing said to make him regret anything.

What do you think there is to regret?  That Ripple Labs is going to sell/distribute xrp over the next few years so the market cap is going to jump every month but at the same time the xrp price stays stable?
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE ALT CURRENCIES BUBBLE IS BURSTING... on: November 24, 2014, 06:34:57 PM
man, you're pretty late.
The shit is worthless already. Can't be worse now.

It is about to be quite worse actually. In a hurry. Just watch.

Yes it is, but when all these alts are sold down to 0, where are these people going to put their money next? XRP?
326  Economy / Speculation / Re: speculation section is dead on: November 24, 2014, 06:16:40 PM
this section is boring today. No traffic at all last days/weeks.

The Ann-section in altcoins looks like a trashcan. In altcoins you get outright ponzi shemes offered and 'tripple your bitcoin in 5 minuts' stuff

Is it time to bail and just let it be history? I mean: participants and quality are declining not rising - for months

Altcoins is trash and scams. Bitcoin charts look like shit. The technology is actually clusterfuck, it's pretty fragile and not robust by any means. I think they need more developement but in altcoins it is only lazy people.

I don't believe in society anyways, why should this be working out?

Sell bitcoin, buy ripple and apple stocks?

I understand what you mean by "Buy ripple and apple stocks"

However, these two things are as far off as can be.  Ripple hasn't even taken off yet, if you buy now, that means you're buying lower than anyone did from the start in 2013 to May 22nd 2014. Ripple is like Apple and Microsoft in 1977.

If you buy Apple now, it's pretty much the most expensive of all time. They split the stock so all the young cool kids can say I love Apple, I even invested in their stock at $115 which really is like $800.

The "buy signal" for ripple is so far off Apple, you can't even compare it to when we were buying it in 2009 for $75 bucks when Steve Jobs announced he was taking time off to spend with his family after being diagnosed.

Ripple has shown nothing but great engineering.  But if it ever gains any sort of liquidity or utility the sky is the limit.

Apple has shown nothing but their 180 Billion dollars is cash.  The can sit around losing money for the next century and still be around.  All they are going to do now is buy out their competitors.

but
Why did the founder leave Ripple for Stellar?

personal matters?

Every company has its startup problems.

I love how ripple brings out the lurkers with 0 activity. Wink

Ripple Labs employees prominent on these boards:

  • misterbigg - activity: 574
  • joelkatz - activity: 1218

I am not arguing that their opinion is more valuable than your own. I am intending to question whether or not account activity is the most meaningful criteria for evaluating posts. A majority of the Ripple community does not post on these forums, and so frequently post under new/low activity accounts when/if they feel compelled to comment (xrptalk.org is their main hub).

Useful links for understanding both Ripple and its recent rise in value:

RL is also hiring, for anyone interested in diving in deep.

This is what I meant....Plus some are lurkers on both...

329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ripple shot up.. why? on: November 23, 2014, 02:47:04 PM
Ripple is premined to 80%. The rest 20% is already used for development. Pumping a project with these low quantity of coins is easy.
It is not new, they done this often in the past when Bitcoin was in decline.

i know it was heavily premined but the distribution now stands around 50/50 between community/ripple labs(plus insiders) afaik. was just wondering if there was news to back the 100% gain in a month... still wouldnt buy.. just curious.

Look back and check if there were news for the last gain.

There wasn't one this is how they do it. They pump the price so they can finance their Development.
Price will drop you can trust me on that.

This game is not new Protoshares did the same.. so what happened when they could not sell any coins anymore ? They just made a new coin.
Wait wasn't Stellar a kinda a Altcoin of Ripple ?? ... Just a thought.

I'm not telling anyone to sell or not to buy. Only to show you what they did in the past.

When I hear this on bitcointalk:

"Price will drop you can trust me on that."

That is when you buy.

No new money really came into ripple the last few days. I guess people are getting in before RBS  and TAS throw a million or so in and move the xrp price 10 fold over night....
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple - how far this trustable coin will go? on: November 22, 2014, 09:05:59 PM
Ripple will take the place that the team deserves? Next to BTC?

Ripple will take its own place where you hold your bitcoin and send them anywhere you want in under 5 seconds. Just get your 100 xrp now for under a dollar to A.) Activate your account B.) Have enough for transaction fees at 0.0001 xrp per transaction to buy or trade anything and you're set for a very long time. Don't buy millions of XRP like me and make Ripple Labs rich. Wink
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP going up -- why? on: November 22, 2014, 01:42:34 PM
Anyone know who has been buying XRP and why?  The price has been on quite a tear lately.

Why wouldn't it be going up? Soon cryptsy will have full integration inside your ripple wallet so you can trade anything, Soon banks will integrate and you can send currency anywhere in under 5 seconds for whatever fee you choose, as of now my fee for any transaction is 0.001 XRP.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] State Of Crypto ? on: November 21, 2014, 06:15:32 PM
I'm very surprised most people still have a positive view on this.
We need less oppenents, stronger and more distinctive. Hopefully we'll be there in a few months.

People investing in Ripple (XRP) will always have a positive view on this....
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lost some XRP on: November 21, 2014, 05:43:24 PM
I transferred a small amount of XRP to the online Ripple wallet a long time ago and now I can't remember my passphrase.  Just thought I'd run this by you guys before I write it off.  I'm screwed right?

Can't remember your pass phrase or secret address.  Then yea your xrp is in the black hole in the middle of the Milky Way.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2015 and WHY on: November 20, 2014, 09:49:54 PM
It looks like BTC will be below $300 by this weekend, everyone is moving to Ether and XRP.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin fails, all cryptos fail? on: November 20, 2014, 02:23:38 PM
There is too many XRP to sustain such prices... it has 7100x more supply than bitcoin so at bitcoin $300 its worth less than $0.04/xrp... with bitcoin volume.. so I'd say its too high, maybe $0.0004 I would buy.

The price ATM is only $ 0.0056 not $0.04/xrp. The price is somewhere in between what you regard as too high and $0.0004 where you would buy.

Oops true.. but id wait for one more drop in decimal place to be safe Smiley It's like bitcoin @ $30. But XRP userbase is nowhere near BTC.

You have to include the dumb speculation when buying.  You won't get the price your trying to get.  When xrp userbase should be near a penny it will be 2 and so on.....
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple or Bitcoin on: November 17, 2014, 04:06:36 AM

Go to XRPtalk.org and see if you can earn the 25 xrp's from someone over there.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoiners are upset about ripple? on: November 16, 2014, 08:28:19 PM
The ripple protocol is definitely worth trying out. These were bitcoiners that produced it.  However, as Sukrim consistently states he wouldn't invest in XRP, I say why not throw $100 at it and let the dumb speculation take it to the ATH again one day and use that 2K profit for more bitcoin or whatever you prefer.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to trade? on: November 08, 2014, 03:13:57 AM
Ripple via bitstamp or snapswap
339  Economy / Speculation / Re: Japan is new China? on: November 02, 2014, 04:47:47 AM
Japan has been one of the largest buyers of btc on ripple.

dont forget to replace rrrrrrYourAccountNumber with your real account number before sending down in response

Do you mean public address when you say account number? I cannot find an account number, just my public address which is composed of both letters and numbers.

Yes he means ripple address.

Its kinda sad Jed said on May 22nd on XRPtalk that he will reward xrp holders with his new project.  Then he gives 19% to bitcoin addresses and 1%other to ripple addresses even though there are more bitcoin addresses.

Revenge is never a straight line...
