321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash Issue - Only One Card Hashing on: August 11, 2018, 04:50:15 AM
Ok.  Back home and grabbed screen shot.  Let me know if there is additional information that would be helpful.  And to confirm, virtual memory had already been bumped to 16GB.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/yaj1tsul1kx8e0f/Nicehash%20-%201%20Card.PNG?dl=0

its a bit weird

try other miners like claymore just to check if its really the app who is causing a fuss

you could point your mining pool to nicehash if you really like them

its a bit easy configuring it go check it out

322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monitor is blank with a black screen, not loading Windows10 on: August 11, 2018, 12:55:35 AM
what makes you think you can install windows 10 on the laptop and just move it to another computer.

Install windows on the mining rig.

Or, if you were smart, you would install linux because windows is shit for mining.

Dude, he just probably doing test if SSD will work as intended

and it worked fine on his lappie

@OP

try not to use an external GPU for the meantime, resolve the booting of OS first

if all is well, then add/install GPU's and install drivers respectively
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: windows 10 pro restarting while running claymore in random hours on: August 10, 2018, 01:06:49 PM
Hello,
i am running claymore in few hours.
and sometimes my windows look restarting with unknown reason

Mobo ASROCK B250 gaming k4
Memory RAM PC HyperX Fury DDR4 8GB
INTEL PROCESSOR G4400 BOX LGA1151
SSD 120
PSU CORSAIR RMX 1000W GOLD
Sapphire RX 580 nitro+ special edition x 6

can you help me what's wrong ?

and here is my claymore command

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool ssl://asia1.ethermine.org:5555 -ewal wallet.worker -epsw x -mode 1 -etha 0 -cclock 1150,1150,1150,1150,1150,1155 -cvddc 880,900,890,880,880,880 -mclock 2000,2000,2000,2000,2000,2000 -mvddc 880,905,895,885,875,880 -tt 60 -fanmin 65 -fanmax 80 -platform 1 -eres 3 -tstop 80 -tstart 50 -dcri 8,14,14,14,14,14

a lot of possible cause, might be a clock issue, overheat, risers, Power supplies, etc

Are your GPU's modded?

Start with a default command lines and default clocks excluding those above

check also your miner logs and windows logs thru event viewer

you may get a hint what would be the cause

in windows type eventvwr\windows Logs\Application

325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I was banned from NiceHash Miner you know why? on: August 10, 2018, 07:08:40 AM
Yeah how did they get your ip from a reddit post? Unless you typed it out yourself.
He probably posted screenshots and nicehash traced his account by those means.

There are other options available such as honeyminer & winminer which revamped their gui.
For those who use these easier mining programs.

I have one problematic motherboard which doesn't behave well in Nicehash so I put that only one board to work with Winminer for the colleagues which I manage about 20 rigs. It is working much more stable with Winminer but at a hefty price to pay, the profit from Winminer is almost 50% less than Nicehash.

With Nicehash I am making about 5 dollars with a 6 cards rig while with Winminer I am making near 3 dollars daily. Good thing is that only this board is problematic as it is not a mining specific board like Asrock or Biostar but just a MSI Z270 Pro.

Just curious as what could be the possible cause

Any hashrate differences?

might be an auto intensities define on each miner app

50% difference is way too high, how about Claymore miner?

Yeah how did they get your ip from a reddit post? Unless you typed it out yourself.

user ip is the same of mining Admin can see it

benefit of the doubt sending screencap could be plausible

mind sharing them as to prove the claims

otherwise its still a hearsay

327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What software should I use to start mining? on: August 07, 2018, 09:12:19 AM

if you are a small miner i recommend you to use windows for mining, on cryptonight windows is faster anyway. as far as i remenber there is no way to activate workload mode for amd gpus in linux

This is what you mean? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2480659.0
Which coin are you mining for it?

that will depend on what GPU you will use

AMD or NVIDIA's

there are sweet algo's on each type of GPU

some online calculators will give a hint on what coins they could greatly mine

whattomine.com

Quote
I am set to mine more which I have planned to have a bigger farm, but I have to know whether it can support me which is why this is a test. So if ever I can see the earnings is enough, I might just sell the tokens I got from bounties for more devices.

Consider the future of mining

new hardwares are coming up

Also with machines competitions as it greatly affects difficulties and profitability

GPUs, ASICs, FPGA

328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is xeon x5365 cpu still profitable? on: August 07, 2018, 12:21:43 AM
found some nearest hw with benchmarks on monero

Xeon X5355, hashrate difference may close as x5365 higher or lower

same is true with tdp

http://monerobenchmarks.info/

then set the hashrate with online calculators

see if its worth it
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I need help with strange mining issue on: August 06, 2018, 02:34:58 PM
Yeah but I'm cheap and running a 60gig ssd since all my other Riggs are on Linux. What happens if I use a spinning drive instead of ssd? How much worse is the performance?

not that worse, a minimal difference in terms of performance

with mining only system, this should be fine

more important is the large pagefile you could get

330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DAG creation time greatly affects my hashrate mining ETH on: August 06, 2018, 06:55:26 AM

Hi, I saw this post from you, and I'm also having the same problem, could you please share where I can change the configuration of my video card from graphics to computer? I've tried several ways without success, thank you very much.

I think you can just press "Y" in claymore it automatically switch from graphics to compute  mode. Thou i have not tried this myself i manually change them from graphics to compute.

Compute mode is in adrenalin driver version not on older drivers.

Go to AMD Radeon Settings > Global Settings > Then click GPU Workload to compute

Do this per GPU sometimes it becomes buggy even after selecting compute mode it still displays graphics just restart your PC.

Or you can do it by registry edits

save your time configuring when pc restarts

Hello i have same issue but  i am using 5 gigabyte 1070Ti  8gb   and 5 gigabyte 1060 6GB

So there is no way cards do not have enough memory.
if i run any 5 cards separately no issues just if mix them in any way at once cuda 11 errors start.   Cry

Any advice ?

windows 10
4 Gb ram

tried to play with virtual memory - does not help

thank you

Just in Case, have you tried adding some physical RAM?

just thinking you've messing around with 6+ cards

Looking for some help with my rig. Have been using claymore for a year no issues until now, but yesterday i did a bios update to fix the issue of 5 of 6 GPUs being discovered in device manager and it worked but now claymore crashes almost straight after opening with no error message. This is my log:

Do you have any AV's, turn them off

Stick to one GPU while doing troubleshoots

try to delete old Claymore files and re-extract new files, create new .bat

Could be anything mate. Computers are sneaky bastards  Grin Right now i found my rig freezed, but i think that is becourse of this god damn heat wave northern europe is feeling right now. I acually had to shut down my rig to prevent overheating due to the weather. Its sad, but i guess its the new reality with global warming.
i use air conditioner for cooling my rigs.in my country because of drouth, electricity rationed Sad

Are you still encountering issues?
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.3 on: July 26, 2018, 01:24:11 PM
Hi,

will there be a Cryptonight Heavy support? Would be needed much......

Unfortunately, none

Support has been already ended and no update yet if CM will continue this

Try other other mining software out there
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.9 (Windows/Linux) on: July 25, 2018, 03:04:45 PM

I have had claymore 11.8 with adrenaline 18.5 driver working GREAT. Then, windows accidentally updated. Now i'm getting the same thing where it stops at

ETH: 1 pool is specified
Main Ethereum pool is us1.ethermine.org:4444

and then just sits there until it says miner can't initialize. I've reinstalled  drivers using DDU. turned off windows dfeneder (claymore isn't being shut down, so I don't think that's the problem). In Gpu Z, open CL is indeed not checked, but I thought these graphics cards RX 400 and 500 serious (currently testing on ONLY a single 570 since this is blowing up my brain) used Open GL. I've resintalled windows twice, basically did everything that I've always ever done and had working fine. Now, nothing. Claymore just sits there. What's weird, is when I run the start.bat file as administrator, then I get the "cannot find EthDcrMiner.64" but it starts up and doesn't close when I start it up non-admin so I really don't think that's the problem. Can ANYONE help? this has been like 2 solid days of troubleshooting.

What version of windows do you have now? It sounds like the 1803 problems. Roll back to the previous windows version

I had 1795 or something like that. 1803 indeed screwed me. New windows installs/rollbacks...nothing has helped. I read that registry stuff doesn’t get sorrted out on a windows reset...so I made a totally new USB install and hopefully i get a truly clean version of Windows. Is there a way to force your computer to go back to a build? I’m assuming this new install will be 1803. Windows has worked great for my rig, but I needed an update for a file and the ass updated EVERYTHING. Kaboom, no more mining.

then dont do updates

a lot ways to do it

try to increase your Virtual memory into 30GB (30000MB)

if still persist, try -eres 0 options
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.3 on: July 23, 2018, 05:30:23 AM
I am getting something odd I have not gotten before with a RX 570 rig, its got to be something simple. Any ideas?
The error is as follows.
GPU 1,  GpuMiner dk2an0 failed -4

try my suggested post above

after update win 10 to build 1803

GpuMiner dk2an0 failed -4

1 of 6 gpu

every time another gpu have that error
You should roll back to the previous version and disable the windows update...

Or try to lower your -h value

if no -h value to your config, try to use "-dmem 0" option

some of my rigs resolved with this option
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: rig hangs but not freeze on: July 23, 2018, 05:25:20 AM
hi my rig randomly hang .i use usb watch dog but it cant recognize hang because its not freeze completely if i do some click on some window or i try to close claymore after that windows freeze completely .is there any way to diagnose the rig.or any other solution? or is any there any way to restart rig by usb watchdog when this happend?

Basically if your rigs is unstable, you have to search on the culprit and must not rely on auto restarts

just being proactive and not a reactive approach is much better

a lot of things could cause a rig to be unstable

415Mh/s with 12x RX 580? with that power consumption, I highly doubt it

yeah. unheard of RX580 doing 34+Mh/s working on a low powered rig

At least they could provide a working rig Video or images in action
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Type of mining ? on: July 19, 2018, 08:12:33 AM
put all costs on the paper first.

1. power price  kWh  ( let says 0.13 usd kWh)
2. gpu costs...   let says nvidia gtx1070  350eur each
3. CPU + mobo + hdd + ram + PSU

put info in mining calculator like whattomine.com...  6 gtx1070 can get around 180mh/s   so with this prices its $6.5  per days,  of $4.5  with power cost  because it will draw around 700W.

so rough  around 3000USD you need to build 6x gtx1070 + mobo etc.

in best  case scenatio you will earn $1500 per year so you need like 2 years to pay out this equpement.   and this prices sis for used items, new are more more expensive.

The real deal is difficulty, ASICs for Ethash are coming so watch out

what you see in online calculators today might about to change tonight, tomorrow or in the coming days or months

Profitability is not constant in mining
