321  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-04-10] CS - Secret Startup ’21 Inc’ Joins Bitcoin Job Fair on: April 13, 2015, 07:32:52 PM
They raised $100M since 2013 iirc, I really wonder what 21 Inc is about. Apparently they have something to do with hardware, as you can tell from their job postings: https://21.co/#jobs
322  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-04-13] TheNextWeb: How Bitcoin could revolutionize remittance in Africa on: April 13, 2015, 07:31:49 PM
For this to be workable, the banks need to play ball to cut the difficulty/cost to changing to local currency

same old problem that holds Bitcoin back as usual  Grin

The solution is to cut out bitcoin and deal entirely in fiat currency. It's faster and easier to setup.

hopefully they have a backup  Shocked

It's unfortunate how many organizations do not take basic precautions such as backups.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / "Better than bitcoin" altcoin sellers arrested for stealing $340 million on: April 13, 2015, 07:26:12 PM

In a bust on Friday, Thai police arrested four executives on charges of operating a pyramid scheme selling a cryptocurrency called “Utoken”, and stealing over 10 billion baht (roughly US$310 million).

http://www.coinbuzz.com/2015/04/13/arrests-in-ufun-crypto-currency-pyramid-scheme/

Definitely one of the biggest bitcoin-related scams in recent times. I myself have not heard of Utoken before, and they stole 1/3 billion USD.

Makes me wonder how many other scams/ponzis are still running out there and how much money they have. Your thoughts?

Bump, still looking. Only available for a short time.
so for 240$ i would send 246$?

Mate, seriously - take your calculator back and get a refund Huh ... it's not working quite right.
lol i was stoned

No problem, 240 * 1.2 = $288.

You'd need to show me some sort of trading rep somewhere though.

Considering the fact that most bitcoin users are male, I would say it is likely.

How is this related?
330  Other / Meta / Re: TRUST on: April 13, 2015, 04:28:16 AM
Trust depth: You trust A, who trusts B, who trusts C, who trusts D.

If you pick trust depth 4, then A, B, C, D will show up as trusted.
If you pick trust depth 3, then only A, B, and C will show up, and so on.

Default trust is chosen by forum administration.

hello all,

I would like to ask for help how to upload gif to my id

thank you

Only full member and above ranks can use (put) an avatar, and the .gif avatars aren't allowed. So also if you want (full member) you can't put a gif files ad avatar :

'Select the avatar you want to upload. It must be no more than 120px wide, 80px tall, and 100 KiB in size. It must be a PNG, GIF, or JPEG image. It must be safe for work. To remove your avatar, submit this form without choosing any file to upload.'

Gifs are allowed, animated avatars are not allowed. Why did you strike gif? You mislead new members.

Sorry, because when I am talking about .gif I am meaning animated files (images, etc). You are right, but have you tried to upload a not-aminated .gif file? What will happen?

Non-animated .gif images display fine. Only animated .gifs are disallowed.
337  Other / Meta / Re: Would this bot be allowed on the forum? on: April 08, 2015, 06:53:59 PM
Time machine: If anyone finds a way to get bots to do something like above, I could use that to push updates to my guides, PM me.

Shouldn't be too difficult to program, however it's a waste of time seeing as the new forum is coming out.

I agree with you. But maybe it would be possible to implement such a solution in the new forum? Or is it completely new?

The bot would obviously have to be modified to work with the new forum. However, it probably would not be necessary to start from scratch.

339  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Government Is Planting Child Porn On Your Computer on: April 06, 2015, 08:59:36 PM
Uh, the article makes no sense, and it's outdated anyway. The government has better things to do than place child porn on people's computers, such as monitoring and installing spyware.

However, did OP really just register to post such an article? Hilarious.

It could have been posted by a spam bot.

Thanks to everyone who has contacted me. I'm closing this thread soon; let me know if you want to buy bitcoins with PayPal.
