Yeah you can run Win on a Mac. For playing a game this is great, because you get all the hardware power. But would you really want to run Win when you can have a true OS X? Hahaa Cheesy

Some people may wish to because certain games can only be run on Windows. They do not have a version that is compatible of Mac OS X. It is a well-known fact that many more popular applications and games support the Windows operating system, due to its wide use across the world.

The occulus rift looks like an incredibly idea, I especially like the games that actually have your hands being rendered in real time, but you can bet it's going to be ruined by facebook because they're going to want to spam the fuck out of you and force you to sign up to it before you can use it at all.

Hopefully there will be several much better copycat versions of it that come out later.

I do not think that Facebook has any incentive to do so. They know the market of the Oculus Rift device well enough that they will not attempt any sort of annoying advertisement. They spent $2,000,000,000 on the acquisition of the Oculus VR company and I am sure that they will do their best to avoid losing customers. Although many may think Facebook is a "bad" company, it is in fact one of the most innovative tech companies in the world today.

It's little bit strange.I was read that faucet is against adsense TOS but when I had my first faucet (sold already) I tried to open adsense account with my faucet and after two times I get my account approval.Problem was that content was not enough. When I add more, I get approval so it was manual check if I right.
So question is, why they approval your account if it against TOS?

It could have been because they did not inspect your website thoroughly enough. I am sure that the people who are in charge of approving websites for AdSense have a very big backlog, so they have to work fast to clear it off. They might only do a quick preliminary check of the website by doing things like making sure there is enough content and ensuring none of it is duplicated from other websites. They may not have enough time to see what your website is all about.

Setting up a node on Tor seems pretty interesting.  I'd like to, but my Linux box keeps locking up on me every few days for some reason.  Probably due to Ubuntu 14.10 - didn't have this problem is 14.04.

14.04 is designated as LTS so it's more stable from what little experience I have running WordPress blogs.

I am trying to learn to code because I have always wanted to create things like websites and applications. What languages would you say are the most in demand in today's job market?

I am aware of the situation. I am trying to recover it and if I somehow recover it(probably won't Roll Eyes), I will give you 1BTC. If I forgot, PM me! Smiley

Judging from this thread, detective work doesn't seem to be one of your talents. Tongue

Oh, damn. I'm already starting to like you a lot Tongue

To follow DiamondCardz's post:
The breaking point is incalculable by anyone but themselves. I can tell you that mine is $20 million, but you don't have to believe me. So don't. Smiley

To be honest, if we could magically determine our breaking points, I bet that'd make a nice log graph. How many of us would be on the top of the chart compared to the bottom? 1 to 1? 1 to 2? 1 to 10? ....1 to 1,000?

If there's an afterlife, I better see that damn chart. Grin
I would say that a person's breaking point will change over time as they are trusted with more (or less) funds. For example if someone is entrusted with $10,000 then if they were trusted with $50,000 they would run away, however after being trusted with $10,000 for several months, they might not even flinch at the idea of being trusted with $50,000 and when someone does trust them with as much for several months their breaking point would likely increase

That's a good point. Because then it makes more sense from a financial perspective to not steal that $10,000.

If a person had $1, then it would be very difficult for her to earn $10,000 with that money. However, if she is entrusted with $10,000 through the course of doing business (for example, receiving a web design contract), then obviously she would want to make good on her end of the deal so that she can earn more business in the future.

It would be better if you elaborate more. I am not familiar with ICC or anything like that. Of course I can google it - like always. But it would be nice if you write something more about it for people not familiar with it.

ICC refers to the ICC Cricket World Cup, one of the most viewed cricket events, and also one of the most viewed sporting events in the whole world. It is held once every four years.

It is organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), which is the governing body for the sport internationally. It is like the cricket equivalent of FIFA (which governs over soccer).

You can find more information on the cricket world cup here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket_World_Cup

According to the trust page which appears on every member's profile, the positive trust feature is intended to be used when "You trust this person or had a successful trade."

This shows that you can either gain positive trust by being a trustworthy person in the community (such as having carried out many trades without issue), or by successfully carrying out a trade where the other party risks something.

You should not be asking how to gain trust feedback itself. Ask instead what you can do to be a trustworthy trader.

892  Other / Off-topic / Re: How far can scammers go? on: January 03, 2015, 04:09:27 AM
It is very unfortunate that we are constantly at risk of having our money stolen from us. A harmless-appearing link could lead to a website that contains a phishing script designed to harvest personal information and logins by pretending to be another website.

It could also contain a script that downloads malware onto the visitor's computer and executes it. Such malware could take advantage of the computers resources to mine cryptocurrency. It could also be used to extract sensitive data which is then used by cyber crooks to steal money and commit identity fraud.

Thank you for reporting the above link. I hope that it helps the community to safeguard itself against attacks from thieves and fraudsters.
893  Other / Off-topic / Re: P2P techs + Open sourcing are gonna flash trillions of valuations... on: January 03, 2015, 02:58:21 AM
Yes, you are right. Peer to peer technology is very quickly developing and has risen in popularity a lot over the past years. For example, BitTorrent is an effective replacement to centralized download services such as Rapidshare or MegaUpload (both of which have ceased to function recently).

One should not underestimate the power of decentralized technology and cryptography. For example, the TOR network allows people in countries with free speech restrictions to safely communicate through the internet. Another application is that it allows people to anonymously share information, such as providing tips to the media without fear of retaliation.

Has anybody here ever heard of or used a company called Midphase Hosting? I see a lot of bitcoin related sites hosted with them but am not 100% for sure if they are the host i want to use. I do not like Hostgator or GoDaddy as they are too large to care about the little guy with his $150 a year hosting plan.

If you have any other companies you could recommend that would be great.

Are you looking for a shared hosting service, or a virtual private server (VPS), or a dedicated server?

There are many web hosts that I personally have had great experience with running small websites. Also, depending on your hosting needs, different companies may have a better deal on one type of server than other ones.

A web host you can use that provides VPS servers (or 'droplets' as the company calls them) is Digital Ocean. They have a server with 512MB RAM that only costs $5/month. The company has very fast customer support and I would recommend them for small websites as well.

If you are looking for a discount code, please feel free to PM me and I can help you to find one.

You can use VMWare or a different virtual machine application if you wish to run Windows in a separate window, while still being booted into Mac OS X. Keep in mind that it may run slowly, because your computer processor is being used for two operating systems at once.

Alternatively, you can boot into Windows directly by installing the Bootcamp software. When you start up your Mac computer, there will be an option to choose between Mac OS X and Windows. This is the best option in my opinion.

Another option is to try Parallels, which will attempt to run the Windows application directly, without booting up Windows in a virtual machine. This software is not guaranteed to work all the time.

Parallels is a virtual machine... it just has better integration between the two OSes that are running, giving the illusion it's a operating directly in Mac OS. It is indeed running a full version of Windows. I've used it on my MacBook Pro, honestly it's not worth paying for.... use Virtual Box.

Oh really? I did not know that it actually runs a full version of Windows. The last time I tried using Parallels on a Mac computer, it would not successfully run certain Windows executable files. It was able to open some programs, but they did not work properly. Certain other programs worked fine.

I guess there has been something that changed during the meantime, as that was a few years ago. Or perhaps I did not set up my copy of Parallels correctly.
896  Other / Off-topic / Re: Cutting the cord to cable... suggestions, strategies, and solutions on: January 03, 2015, 02:49:20 AM
I personally use Netflix. It has a wide selection of TV shows and movies to choose from. However, you will not be able to find many shows that are currently showing on TV, such as the 5th season of the Walking Dead. If you are alright with watching shows that are one season old or more on demand, then it is an excellent choice for you.

If you are unsure if Netflix is a good choice, you should sign up for their free 1 month trial which will allow you to access the service for 30 days. From there you will be able to freely watch any of their content until the demo period ends. Hopefully this will help you decide if you like it or not.

Good luck!
