321  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I've said pirateat40 was running a ponzi on: August 18, 2012, 03:57:16 AM
I still don't understand how people keep falling for these schemes. I think they all know it's a scam but they think they'll get their money out before everyone else so it won't be them losing out. Then they get butthurt when they lose out.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Fiat - isn't this a bit of a double standard? on: August 17, 2012, 11:31:21 PM
The Universe runs on math, why shouldn't our money?

Solidcoin still exists?

A test unit would be awesome. I would be the king of all my friends if I had one, and friends.
325  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Long Deep Tunnel on: August 17, 2012, 11:16:09 PM
It depends on the size of the pool and random luck. Larger pools usually find blocks more often but even they can hit dry spells if the random number gods are frowning upon them.

I've been getting a lot of "Lost connection to bitcoind" lately. Last week it hardly ever happened. Anyone else been having this problem or know of a fix?
327  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mining, a flawed concept coming home to roost? on: August 17, 2012, 03:01:31 AM
P2Pool
328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Booth at the Ron Paul Festival Aug 24-26 - need samples! on: August 14, 2012, 04:19:00 AM
I'm going to be re-tooling BitBid soon. I've had a bunch of people sign up then never post anything to sell. Kind of frustrating.
329  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Paul Ryan Romney's running mate on: August 14, 2012, 03:59:51 AM
He just gave Obama the election. Ryan is even more of a sociopath than Romney.

Everyone knows the world is ending this year.
331  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are newbies treated like scum here? on: August 11, 2012, 07:22:36 AM
It's to slow down people getting a scammer tag and just making another account over and over again. If you're stuck in newbies for a while it's harder to do that.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jim Cramer - "I endorsed Bitcoin in The Good Wife, what more can you ask!?" on: August 11, 2012, 07:20:22 AM
Jason Biggs and bitcoin just don't go together for me

Perhaps if he tried fucking a bitcoin.

Well, both bitcoins and pies are round... so...

Bitcoins feel like a bag of sand.
333  Other / Politics & Society / Re: My suggestion to environmentalists. on: August 11, 2012, 07:15:31 AM
My goal is eventually start Marscoin since the network lag would make BTC mining on Mars impossible.
334  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: August 11, 2012, 07:00:29 AM
Any word on if Namecoin merged mining will ever be pooled like BTC?
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Liquidcoin Mining tutorial???? on: August 11, 2012, 06:59:13 AM
It will be the same as a Litecoin mining tutorial but with Liquidcoins instead of Litecoins. Install the client, point minerd at it.
336  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Trilogy? on: August 11, 2012, 06:56:27 AM
The Matrix wasn't a trilogy. It was one good movie and that's it.
337  Other / Politics & Society / Re: My suggestion to environmentalists. on: August 11, 2012, 06:53:54 AM
Right now it's self regulating us right into waterworld or another ice age. With the human population growing so quickly there's no way for the Earth to self-regulate itself in a way that doesn't end in our extinction eventually. Even if climate change isn't the end of the world most people believe someday we are going to have to do something to adjust the environment to grow food or lower/raise temps simply to sustain our growth. Asteroids are part of the environment. Should we not use our technology to save ourselves even though an asteroid hit would be nature self-regulating us into vapor?
338  Other / Politics & Society / Re: My suggestion to environmentalists. on: August 11, 2012, 06:35:43 AM
People don't seem to realize that environmentalists aren't trying to save the Earth. They're trying to save our home. We don't have anywhere else to go at the moment. Once it's fucked, we're fucked.

340  Bitcoin / Project Development / GetGlue and Bitcoin on: August 11, 2012, 06:22:49 AM
For those that don't know GetGlue is similar to FourSquare but instead of checking into locations you can check into shows, movies, music, podcasts, and topics. You can unlock free stickers for checking into certain things or completing certain goals. Bitcoin is available to check into in the Topics section. It doesn't have many check in's or comments but it would be cool if a bunch of us all checked into the topic around the same time and posted a bunch of comments and information. People would see a bunch of check-ins to Bitcoin and those that don't know what it is might look into it more. Just a thought to help spread the good word. Who's game?
