We have not managed to install the updates and had to roll back to the latest working version of the game server. We have been back online since a few hours, and are now working on fixing the improvements to our games. Our apologies for the downtime...

Dear Players,

For the past few days I have been in a remote location with next to no internet. I had our hot wallet topped up before I left but because of some bigger cashouts we ran out way earlier than expected, causing the hot wallet to be empty. We truly apologize for this situation and will try to prevent this in the future, but to secure player balances we cant take the risk of holding all funds in an online wallet.

And for the people that called us a scam: we didn't invest almost 80k usd in a pokersite just to scam people out of a 1000 chip cashout.

For the email support: im not able to ssh into the mail account from here with a 5kbps connection so any questions can be asked here in pm. Once again my apologies. From saturday we will be on our mail like a hawk again.

I truly hope we can count on your understanding.

Best regards,

BitcoinFlush

...no, what i meant was as if someone just pulled a joke by impersonating "joey", and it was not indeed the said "joey"

It wouldn't be very smart to be claiming you are somebody who gets booted multiple times per week by both SP as SWC wouldn't it?

i think it's harmless;
I think multi accounting is never harmless, as it gives a player an unfair advantage over other players.
327  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are gambling games with BTC legal? on: July 04, 2013, 01:06:17 PM
Yes, this is what I am saying. "In Holland". It doesn't mean you are equally legal in the rest of the world. It only means you are legal in Holland. Also fyi, there is a law coming up soon which will regulate online gambling, and I know your stance right now is that it is legal as bitcoin is not considered money, therefore not gambling, but we will see how it will play out after the law passes.

 http://www.tax-news.com/news/Netherlands_Eyes_20_Online_Gambling_Tax____60889.html

first, this law is aimed at foreign market and I am dutch. Second, the dutch parliament has stated that bitcoin meets only 2 of the 4 criteria with which the law defines money and thus no financial licenses are needed for exchange, securities, financial services and gaming. This has been an explicit statement in Dutch parliament and as gambling is defined as playing for money, these new laws wont apply to bitcoin poker
328  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are gambling games with BTC legal? on: July 04, 2013, 11:56:50 AM
The main issue is if bitcoins can be qualified as 'money by other means'. To give a comparision: in Vegas, people are not playing with real cash, but with chips and these chips are regarded as money by other means, making it gambling.

What you should look for is a country which specificly states that bitcoin isn't money and therefor none of the monetary rules apply (including gambling, securities and exchange). A decent example is The Netherlands...

This doesn't really help from a jurisdictional standpoint though. It only avoids the need of a gambling license. He will still have to comply with the laws of each country from which he takes players.
In Holland bitcoin poker is exactly equal to Zynga poker. Just as any tourist is allowed to visit our coffeeshops, they are allowed to use our services as they obey the dutch law
329  Economy / Marketplace / Re: New Fast Bitcoin Exchange in the Netherlands on: July 04, 2013, 11:37:36 AM
With the assistance of ING bank we can accept and transfer Euro and US dollar.  Our exchange handles trades in both currencies. We will add other currencies and transfer methods in the next 6 months.

Be really careful. The statements of the Dutch government only apply to BTC2EUR and EUR2BTC transactions, as USD is highly regulated and controlled outside of Holland. Good luck with the site though Smiley

Hi!

Most of you probably already heard about SatoshiPoker, being a growing bitcoin based pokersite from Holland. From the start we have invested a lot of time and money into the site, starting with a daily loss of 5 bitcoins, because of our juicy freerolls and guaranteed tournaments. This was an expensive strategy, but it has given us a loyal players base on which we can grow further and at this point we have reached break even point. The way the site has been growing the past weeks makes us project that July will be our first profitable month since the start.

Instead of being just a pokersite for bitcoiners, we intend to become a mainstream poker site and compete with the more serious players in the industry. To achieve this goal, we had a marketing budget assigned to get us listed on the most important poker forums. With all company funds held in bitcoins but all marketing costs being charged in USD, we have taken a serious hit in our marketing budget, due to the fall of the bitcoin value. Our main interest is now getting our site listed in an official topic on twoplustwo forums, currently the biggest forum about online poker. Additionally we wish to get ourselves listed on pocketfives.com and have a pokerstrategy.com promotion.

The attention and traffic we will get from listing our site on these forums/sites will get us from break-even to highly profitable almost instantly and the income from the new players will allow us to grow at a way faster rate than we currently are.  Main issue at this point is that these various sites demand  multiple months of advertising payment up front for getting us listed and we don't have sufficient fundings to do so.

As this point SatoshiPoker is already listed on bitfunder.com, but has not yet performed an IPO on its shares, as we agreed with our current investors and founders to IPO once the site is making a steady profit and thus giving a good ROI on their initial investment. The current shares are visible in the Asset List.

We are looking to sell 5% of our company's shares, to get 400 BTC in fundings to get ourselves listed on the above sites. We would prefer to get one single investor on board as this will allow SatoshiPoker to IPO more smoothly than with multiple investors.

When interested in investing in a growing company, with a high earning potential, please send me a PM. To prevent our standard trolls (see our service topic in the gambling section) from messing up this thread, this topic will be posted locked and reopened when we announce IPO on bitfunder.com.

Have never received my password reset but after digging thru the third pile of stuff I found my password.
Please verify that the email in your account is correct.

I tested the password reset feature on several accounts and it worked.

However it did land the email in the spam folder so also look out for that.

Glad you got your password working again.

We have pushed back the 10,000 GTD to 10PM EST DUE to requests by several gamers from grindabit and BTCTALK.

it is getting moved two hours earlier, not getting pushed back correct?
Yes correct sorry I misspoke.

Sometimes it does that when your connection is too slow.

We will look to see if we can nullify this error message.

It has nothing to do with a slow connection.  When getting the error I need to close the touny lobby, open it again and select take seat.
I talked to our developers and they told me that this has been fixed in the latest version.  Can you download it here and let us know what happens.

It is still happening.
We are working to fix this issue and will update you all when it's fixed.

I downloaded the newest version in a way that it no longer remembered my password and I can't find it.  I tried to reset it, put in my email but have not received anything.
Check your spam mail.

Our reset emails tend to land in that folder.
