321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 19, 2017, 01:09:36 PM
What would be more interesting is to be able to decide how you can trust a witness. A high level green trust Bitcointalk used could work, but also exchange Bittrex could decide to run a public witness.

What we need is a mix of witnesses from different kinds. Dev, enthousiasts or business witnesses, we need them all. This way we are sure they won't share a common interest that would make them act dishonestly.

We really need Byteball on Ledger Nano S.

Sure it would be great but you can right now reach very good level of security by using a multisignature wallet. An attacker would need to hack both your computer and your smartphone to steal your money. It's really easy to do with Byteball by pairing devices, I love this feature cause even my mother could be safe using it !

Ditto on that question, I did a test transfer after trex reopened the wallet last night, and it took longer to transfer bytes (9 mins approximately) this time as opposed to little over a week ago was within couple mins.

Confirmations are done by the transactions that come after yours. When there will be more load on network, Byteball confirmations will be faster.

I think about creating an oracle that posts ranking from big multiplayer games like WarThunder or VirtualRegatta. This way you could bet on your future ranking (or even relative ranking like player A > player B at such date) with your friends. It's very easy with Byteball to conclude such bet contracts !
Do you have further ideas about this ?
Do you know other games largely played ?
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 09, 2017, 09:55:43 AM
Just one day left for next distribution just waiting to get more bytes for free I expect big rise will happen after this. As bitcoin is going up so we can keep high hope for price above $400 in next few weeks before next round.
if byteball listed on poloniex then we hope price easily breaks $500 mark Wink

And $2000 as soon there is a week-end pump  Grin

I am repeating my question to make sure that those who could answer it did notice the question:

Do the devs still control the majority of the witnesses? Is it really 12 servers or it's 12 processes running on a single machine or maybe it's even 1 process on 1 machine that uses 12 identities?

Only the dev could answer cause we don't know which nodes are the witnesses (and that's good for security).
You can find a list of current used witnesses there: https://byteball.fr/stats.html

Hey dev can you tell me how much will I get in dollars if I were to sign a message with an address containing one thousand BTC?

You would get 1000 * 0.0625 = 62.5 GB * 237$ = 14800 dollars at this moment

If you was smart enough to hold 1000 BTC, you will be smart enough to hold your GBYTE (especially after having tested the wallet).
I love how smart is the Byteball distribution  Grin

byteball.fr
Announcing byteball world map. Enjoy !

byteball.fr is an alternative hub (paired with master byteball.org) and community witness operated on a 300Mbps unmetered link.

We need more support to our community-driven Witness:
In your wallet settings hub set byteball.fr/bb

Thank you!

Nice !

I see my IP as a full wallet although I got a light wallet, is it normal ?

Hello. I have 2 Bitcoins and would like to receive a small amount of Byteballs on May 10th. Do my bitcoins have to be in my bitcoin wallet from 10th to 11th May? After that I can resell my Bitcoins again and still get Byteballs?

If you don't own BTC during next air drop, you won't get Byteballs for them. But you will still get 0.1 GBYTE for every 1 GBYTE you own.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 01, 2017, 10:41:16 AM
I'm discovering Byteball and I find this new crypto promising ! So much awesome work by one dev, this is indecent  Shocked

One question: what could be the incentives to be an oracle ? As far as I understand, there is no reward for the oracle whose the input is used for a contract.

I added to my explorer a ranking for biggest entry credit spenders: https://freefactomizer.com/index.php/explorer/top_credit_spenders/

Two facts:
- Right now only 63 public keys have spent at least 1 entry credit
- The large majority of EC spent are from only 10 public keys.

Any chance of showing EC address instead of hex?

Mainly for egotistical reasons. Be nice to see my name in the Factom hall of fame.

This was simpler to do like that at first, I plan to convert to base 58 address later. I'm also thinking about a tag system where users could name addresses as they want.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PASC] PascalCoin, deletable blockchain & bank account system [PASA] on: January 26, 2017, 07:35:39 PM
In 20 years there will be 20.000.000 Pascal accounts, isn't this a scalability problem in case of success ?

Nothing proves that this entry is official.

This is the "Factom Ethereum chain":
https://freefactomizer.com/index.php/explorer/chain/6e4540d08d5ac6a1a394e982fb6a2ab8b516ee751c37420055141b94fe070bfe

It has been committed by this entry credit public key:

This key never inserted anything before, anybody could have inserted that.

If you want I can create a chain for any shitcoin you wan to pump Grin
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: January 23, 2017, 10:52:54 AM
I started to dev a block explorer for Factom: https://freefactomizer.com/index.php/explorer
You can already check the last entries inserted and know how much entry credits have been used recently.
I plan in some time to add more features to browse easily the data in Factom blockchain. Don't hesitate to tell me what could be useful for you.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: January 17, 2017, 07:30:52 AM
Devs don't really communicate on what's going on.
It looks that Factom clients lose synchronisation with last blocks after some running hours, I guess they are busy solving this issue.
337  Economy / Services / Re: [LOGO Contest] Logo and/or web design for Factom related site on: January 15, 2017, 09:09:29 AM
Thanks for this awesome site.

I tried it out and have saved everything, but I'm struggling see it on factom explorer the link that comes with the hash etc just clicks to 404 error page.  Can you advise how I confirm the hash of my text?
Cheers

The block explorer is not working currently, it is stuck to block 71765 although we are right now at block 71951. I guess guys from Factom will repair it next week.

As far as I know there is no other explorer available, if you wanna check with a third party you have to install factomd then use a command like:
Code:
factom-cli get entry 73f6c55e90c0e0cddb9c2018134d4c53cca158418460a60ab1cbf3f05611e1f0

You will get this.
Code:
EntryHash: 73f6c55e90c0e0cddb9c2018134d4c53cca158418460a60ab1cbf3f05611e1f0
ChainID: 5ae97be5f36ef3e2b2438c0e66dc52b2cfcb466aec07b84e192a010f8cfd45b2
ExtID: 98
Content:
62f2b84fe11082ff2ea410af1aa3412675e5be6ff3c33de7051e24d2fa8eb2cb
Where "content" is the SHA256 signature of the list where your document signature is present.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: January 14, 2017, 02:52:54 PM
Factom is now completely up ! (although the block explorer is stuck to block 71765).
I present you a free proof of existence service based on Factom: https://freefactomizer.com/
You can prove that any document, like a photograph of your rented car or a business invoice, existed at the time you deposited its signature.

This is a feedback about Fdesigns work.
He made the logo for this site: free document signature deposit into Factom
He created a logo that illustrates well what the site does and I'm very happy for that.
340  Economy / Services / Re: [LOGO Contest] Logo and/or web design for Factom related site on: January 06, 2017, 04:06:09 PM
Thank you all !

And the winner is:

There are others logos that look good but EFdesigns's ones fit very well with the purpose of the site.

Thank you again and I wish you good luck for your next contests.
