3205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is firstly a ledger and secondly a currency. on: July 11, 2021, 09:05:26 PM
And I need to emphasize that Bitcoin is a ledger first, and a currency second...Bitcoin is above all a database. What is this database used for? It is used for keep accounts. What kind of accounts does it keep? It records the transaction and transfer records of Bitcoin between different people. This is what Bitcoin does. It exists as an exchange equivalent, as a medium of exchange. When we all regard Bitcoin as the general equivalent in our transaction process, it plays the role of currency. Then it is considered a currency.
Bitcoin is a currency and the technology behind it is the blockchain. Both terms are being used interchangeably although they don't refer to the same thing.
The blockchain technology is not limited to bitcoin (or other currencies) and it has many different applications. Since it's decentralized then it would be better to compare it to a destributed database than a regular/centralized database.
Another misconception is using the term accounts when talking about bitcoin! Bitcoin doesn't use an account model but rather uses UTXOs model.
3206  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pay very low FEE when u make a BTC transaction ! on: July 11, 2021, 08:06:47 PM
Imo, mempool.space, mentioned by Charles-Tim is far better and more user friendly. It shows the fee rate you need to pay for a low/medium/high priority transaction directly without having to analyse the chart. Also, and if my memory serves me right, there have been times when jochen-hoenicke.de showed wrong fee estimations (higher than what is actually needed). thank you o_e_l_e_o for correcting me Smiley -> read post below.

Every 10 minutes a New Block is founded and the mempool will Drop [/b]
Finding a block doesn't necessary mean the network will become less congested. It also depends on the number of newly broadcast transactions.
3207  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Who is paying very very large fees when not needed and why? on: July 11, 2021, 06:41:01 PM
^^
BlueWallet lightning wallets are custodial indeed. When you fund your lightning wallet, you don't really create a channel, in fact you send the bitcoin to them and they will use their own nodes to open a channel for you (it's possible that they don't even do that). Therefore, your Bitcoin is in their custody (although they prefer the term hosted) and they can do whatever they want with it.
It's not really a big deal but if you're not fine with it, you can always run your own LN node.
3208  Economy / Exchanges / Re: YoBit HELP - locked out on: July 11, 2021, 05:34:40 PM
I still find them sketchy af.
I agree with you.
Just because hackers are abusing the feature to disable 2fa, doesn't mean they have to remove it completely. If a customer can prove he is the real owner of the account then he should be allowed to disable 2fa or at least give him a new secret key.
This just shows how incompetent they are, to say the least. It looks like they are using this as an excuse to lock users accounts and steal their funds.
Luckily, op was able to access his account but this is just an example why we should not store our coins on exchanges no matter how reputable they are.
3209  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 11, 2021, 03:53:30 PM
I am sure the streamers will win on every single raffle because of million-dollar wagers every day, they get unlimited reloads on btc, eth, ltc balances
Not sure if streamers are eligible to participate in promotions or not, but what's for sure is that the terms of the competition guarantee that streamers won't have any advantage over other players since sponsored funds do not count. This way, all players stand the same chance of winning:

Other Terms
Sponsored funds will not reward tickets for the promotion.
Besides, and correct me if am wrong but I don't remember seeing any of the known streamers winning any of the past promotions. So, this is not something to worry about
3210  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME on: July 10, 2021, 11:58:03 PM
He didnt lost any money if you do try to read up again his statement on where he didnt able to make deposit because he didnt have money but for sure if he had then he might possibly able to do so.
Unfortunately, he did. Please, read the whole thread.
It's clear from OP that he did invest money in abccoin. If it's still not obvious, please refer to his second reply where he explicitly confirmed it.
He couldn't withdraw his so-called earnings because he didn't have the 10% needed to unlock withdrawals.
3211  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com - Makes things difficult to send BTC, am I the only one? on: July 10, 2021, 11:23:26 PM
The amount of BTC I hold in the dashboard keeps flashing from "grey/zero" to "the amount I accualy hold". On the right side I have a red error message:

"{"error":"Historical data not found for BTC-EUR at DATE","status":404}"
It looks like they can't access the server from which they get bitcoin exchange rates historical data, the reason why the page keeps refreshing!
Did you try accessing your account from other browser to see if the problem persists?

While sending it's a pain in the a.. to be quick enough inserting amount, adress and then click on send. Sometimes it takes me up to 10 minutes to get to click the button to send in the right second.
As a temporary work around, try stopping the browser from refreshing by clicking the Stop (x) button on the address bar. If this doesn't work, there are third party plug-ins you can use to disable web pages auto-refresh. Then you can fill in the forum then click send to broadcast your transaction.

Is blockchain.com avoiding users cashing out their btc because of the current market situation?
They can not stop you from cashing out your btc as long as you have backed up your wallets seeds. You can recover them on other apps any time you want.
3212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Still stuck... on: July 10, 2021, 09:41:03 PM
I did what you advised and both devices showed 6 different numbers. So there has to be an issue with the 16 digit secret key.
Did you compare the generated codes on both devices at the same time? The generated codes are temporary and change every 30 seconds or so. If you get different codes then one or both your devices are out of sync (assuming you you imported the correct secret key).
Since those codes are temporary, you have to enter the generated code on bittrex, or whatever service you want to access, before it expires or it will become invalid.
3213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to do online payment with bitcoin on: July 10, 2021, 08:23:07 PM
The best thing you can do right now is to consolidate your inputs.
In your other topic, you said you're buying small amounts of bitcoin on a daily basis. So I assume you have a lot of low value UTXOs in your wallet so most likely your payment transactions will be of a big size which means higher fees.
If you are using a legacy wallet then this also might be a good opportunity to switch to Segwit and save more on fees.

You can read more about inputs consolidation from here: Mempool empty! Use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs!
3214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin help on: July 10, 2021, 07:25:40 PM
Supposedly a newbie sees the confirmation and thinks that it's registered but little did he/ she know it could be replaced by another TX that would never be addressed to him/ her.
If the transaction is confirmed then it's almost impossible to replace/reverse it and the more confirmations the transaction has, the more difficult it becomes to replace it. 6 confirmations is safe enough to consider a transaction final.
However, it's possible to replace an unconfirmed transaction especially if it's been flagged as rbf. The wallet you use can't prevent this. The only thing it can do is to hide unconfirmed transactions in the transactions history.
3215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Wallets: How to keep them clean? on: July 09, 2021, 11:57:10 PM
I mean: I have 1btc on my Address A.
Now i spend 0.5btc in 10 Txs to other Addresses.

Will my Address A not be full of 10 smaller UTXOs after multiple spendings thus creating the same problem I had before?
You have to consolidate your inputs regularly when the network isn't congested and transactions fees are low.

If the amount you want to send is smaller than the input, your wallet will create a new output to send the difference back to your wallet.
In your case, there will be always a single UTXO in your wallet. So, you don't have to worry about consolidation unless you receive other transactions.

3216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin help on: July 09, 2021, 10:17:49 PM
Other than using fork coins, scammers also use testnet coins to deceive their victims. They usually target newbies and will ask them to download a wallet that supports the testnet network. Most newbies aren't aware of the existence of the testnet network and don't know that these coins have no real value.

If by "fake bitcoin" you mean double spending and the possibility to spend the same coin twice, then the answer is no. Bitcoin is designed to prevent double spending.
3217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where and how to store your Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency? Safe and Secure Options on: July 09, 2021, 09:30:16 PM
Nice topic and interesting but I will like to ask a question, is there any bitcoin wallet that has a limit transfer per day just like the bank, because someone can be on a gun point to review his pin character or seen imputing his keys without knowing., how can we save this situation.
This is exactly why it's not recommended to store all your coins in one wallet. Keep a small amount in a hot wallet for daily transactions and keep the rest in a cold wallet.
Also, some hardware wallets let you create a hidden wallet by adding a passphrase to the main wallet seed. This can help you against the $5 wrench attack as the attacker wouldn't know about the existence of the hidden wallet.
3218  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME on: July 09, 2021, 08:11:36 PM
Sorry for your loss OP.
From the moment I read "I met a girl on a dating app", I knew it's not going to end well!
I searched "abccoin" on Google but didn't find anything. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do to recover your money, I just hope you didn't invest a large amount into this scam.
However, you can help others and warn them about this scam exchange by creating a scam accusation thread on the appropriate board.
3219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where did my money go? on: July 08, 2021, 08:56:24 PM
It was @Darker45 that understood differently and who understood the message I passed. Which is trying to know where my money goes if there is dip and where it comes from if there is bull.
I sincerely apologise for the poorly constructed Op.
Thank you all!
It doesn't matter if the market is in a bullish trend or in a bearish trend, the amount of bitcoin you have in your wallet will remain always the same. However, it's value in USD (for example) will be affected by the market condition.
i.e: If you have 1 btc in your wallet and bitcoin price in USD (for some reason) go down to 100USD, then you will still have 1 btc but if you sell it you will get 100USD in exchange. The same thing if the price goes down to zero, your bitcoin will be worthless in terms of Dollar.
3220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is this Phishing or not? on: July 08, 2021, 08:38:04 PM
Nevertheless, what really seems to be going on is that the site is used as a redirect, to capture traffic, and have it taken to earnbet[dot]io with a, guess what, referral/bonus along the way.

Code:
http[colon]//game[dot]earnbet[dot]io/
Redirects: 1

1 301 http[colon]//game[dot]earnbet[dot]io/
   301 Redirect

2 200 https[colon]//earnbet[dot]io/?bonus=ez01024365092285225

See: https://wheregoes.com/trace/20214719198/
I believe the website admin added a rule in the .htaccess file to redirect visitors to the new link. If this is the case then the new link isn't really a referral link but rather a trucking link to know how many users visited the game sub-domain.

As said above, most likely the SSL certificate has expired and the website owner didn't renew it yet. I would stay away from this website until everything get resolved. You should never connect to an insecure website as you never know who might be listening to your communication!
