I gave you one of my sMerit because I though your reply was concise and relevant. I nearly didn't because I thought some members will say that I only did it because of your comments about me. I guess some of the comments by the charity workers here are starting to get to me. Smiley

Thank you very much. You have no idea how much motivation you just sent me. Honestly speaking A part of me is saying this is injustice. I am giving so much time to this community and in return they are evaluating me as a low ranked member. Just because I do not have merits (decision of individual most of the time they do not care) I can not see myself as a higher ranked member.
3202  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system working? Really! on: February 03, 2018, 10:17:24 AM
# I do post a lot coz I believe contributing to any community build up the community strong. But look at my account I don't have much appreciation from the  higher ranked people who has a lot of merits to help me. I am not blaming them not to give me. May be they are not seeing my post. Do you think most of them have all the day to look for good post to merit other?
I don't know what you're saying. These?:

This is what I am expecting too. :-)

I m not even trading from last few days

If you post without much thought being put into it, you won't get merited. That's simple.
# I noticed when a high ranked member post anything then he get merits from other the psychology behind this (I guess) ... if I give merit to someone who had a lot of sMerit then he may give me some merit.

Explain me why this post got so many sMerits https://prnt.sc/i9i0tu  where my post got this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2858083.0 (this when I am posting https://prnt.sc/i9i19c )

Go through my posts and comments on my profile then you might see my contribution to this community.
It's very hard to get merits in alt coin forums because this is a Bitcoin forum and not some alt-coin forum. It's up to an individual's personal discretion to decide what to merit and what not to. I can assure you that most of us won't merit those that are clearly shitposting.

You only pulled up two comment from my over 200 comments/post and trying to convince me that I am shitposting. Please go through my profile. See how many post I made, how many comments I made. At-least bring up last my 50 post then you will see what I am talking about. Guess what... I think you do not have much time for that.

Then why not apply to become a merit source?

I do not think there is a way to become a merit source or I would.
You don’t think theymos was being serious when he wrote the following?

If you want to be a merit source:

 2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months by other people that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread. The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully.
 3. We will take a look at your history and maybe make you a source.

I am especially eager to have merit sources in sub-communities such as the local sections.
Or might it be that you’ve been so busy complaining about the merit concept that you haven’t had time to read up on how it’s supposed to work? Smiley

Actually I did.
"1. Be a somewhat established member."

Do you think I have it? It all down to not having enough rank. Come on mate look how many post I made.... Over 200!!!! I am a member since not even a month. I can guarantee you that you will not find much creepy posts from me. (yes may be there will be some here and there but most of them are way better than others.)

Please do not question me about what I have not done. I am doing a lot for this forum since I have been introduced to it.
3204  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system working? Really! on: February 03, 2018, 09:46:55 AM
I think some people award merit just to avoid the responsibilitty of awarding merit. They may dump it into the old boys network, or they may give it to the soup kitchens, or run the merit food banks for new members to curry favour with the community.

So yes you are saying the merit system is not working. For some it does not have any meaning but for some it is really really important and you are dumping it in the soup kitchens.  Roll Eyes

I did look at the first page of your posts, but, I'm sorry, I didn't give you any merit.

You do not need to be sorry. You have your right to make decision. You are doing fine I have seen some of your post. My complain is not for people like you my complain is for those who are dumping their merits in the soup kitchens. And unfortunately I guess the number is large for them

I'm finding it really hard to explain. This merit system seems like not working for me. I bet for all these new members as well.

These are some of the reasons making me very frustrated about this merit system...
# I am a low ranked members when I find any post worth reading I feel to give some credit to that person. Now since I do not have any sMerits to give so I can not encourage that person even-though I want to.

# I do post a lot coz I believe contributing to any community build up the community strong. But look at my account I don't have much appreciation from the  higher ranked people who has a lot of merits to help me. I am not blaming them not to give me. May be they are not seeing my post. There are more but at the moment the above came in my mind.

Explain me why this post got so many sMerits https://prnt.sc/i9i0tu  where my post got this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2858083.0 (this when I am posting https://prnt.sc/i9i19c )

I can bring you bunches of example to prove my statements. Ask me if you want to.

PS: Guess what there will be a lot of low ranked members who will really like this post but they can not give me any merit for this post since day do not have any. Consider this as a proof of my first statement  Undecided
3207  Other / Meta / Re: Improving +merit system on: February 03, 2018, 08:57:37 AM
Take care if you are refreshing the donate page, as I understand this can cause a double spend.

It happened to me, super lucky for that person. I'm using mobile phone that time and for about 30secs the merit gets doubled. Well the idea of a pop up system is quiet ok for me since it don't need to open another window and you can just give merits easily, i don't think we still need the notification just look at your merit and you will see your transaction there.

I heard the same thing then they fixed it. When you make change in a script then sometimes it you will discover little bugs here and there.
3208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you support BTC and deserve Merit? on: February 02, 2018, 08:44:47 PM
Merit will be very useful for me. I do make a lot of posts and comment. I try my best to support this community and cryptocurrency space.

I hope you would not mind reading the following topics I have created

I have more posts, if you have time then you are welcome to send feedback on those posts....

Thanks
3209  Other / Meta / Re: Improving +merit system on: February 02, 2018, 08:36:56 PM

The problem with this approach is that you're still dealing with popups and when you return to the original page, it hasn't been refreshed.

When a data change then if they refresh the data on the background then as an user you should not be facing this kind of issue. Once the data will be changed then the script will refresh the output on the background.

3210  Other / Meta / Re: Improving +merit system on: February 02, 2018, 08:17:46 PM
I find notification really annoying, and I disable them wherever I can.

An option would be nice. Once you have it then it's up to you if you want to use it or not. I do personally disable notification however I would not mind to keep the notification on for having merit coz each merits are kind of very important for me coz I am focused to improve my raking. I do blv thousands of member like me will have the same saying that getting merits are really important for them.
3211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do when you are over 50% lose on your trades? on: February 02, 2018, 08:14:29 PM
Hopefully the market will turn soon.

The question is when the market will turn. It has to turn.
3212  Other / Meta / Improving +merit system on: February 02, 2018, 08:07:40 PM
This is how the +merit works at the moment.

When you want to +merit someone, you click the +merit (please see here https://prnt.sc/i9avtx ) and a new tab opens up with the option to send desire merit to the person.

Can't we improve it like this...

When someone click on the +merit then instead of opening a new tab I think a light-box (small pop up window) would be more user-friendly. Once you click on the send button ( https://prnt.sc/i9az0k ) then the content of the light-box may be change with a message saying, "sMerit sent successfully" or the light-box just disappears. This way I guess a user will not need to go to the new tab and after finish sending the merit the user will not need to come back to the window they were in at the first place.

Also I think at the moment there are no notification option for receiving merit. A notification once you receive any merit to the email inbox would be nice since this merit thing is playing very important roll for the forum members.

Hope the admin team consider these suggestions to improve the user experience of the forum.

there is absolutely no cause for concern you need to support your crypto currency and wait. Because at the end of spring and you will see that your portfolio has grown 3 times
Absolutely right. When you bought your crypto, you blved in it. Nothing has changed so why worry? It's the outer factor fearing you not the project.
3214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Little Chicken thinking... Really!!! on: February 02, 2018, 02:48:06 PM
It's best to stay brave when the markets are down - a great time to buy and hodl for sure - buy the dips Smiley

I am actually doing marathon buying. I was waiting to buy a coin when the price was 0.00048 sat. That was it's all time high. I know it will come down so I was watching the coin. When it came to  0.00023507 sat I bought some, then it went down to 0.00020595 sat again I bough some, then the price went a little bit up so I decided to buy more @0.00020638 and yes price went down and I bought more. Price was gown down more so when it went down to 0.00017696 then I bought some more.

Now the price is 0.00018437 I am having a feeling that the price will still have chance to drop so I have another order awaiting @0.00015696

So yeah... I am in marketing mood.  Grin

BTC now @8,886.02

Most people are poor because, when it comes to investing, the world is filled with Chicken Littles running around yelling.

"The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" And Chicken Littles are effective, because every one of us is a little chicken. It often takes great courage to not let rumors and talk of doom and gloom affect your doubts and fears. But a savvy investor knows that the seemingly worst of times is actually the best of times to make money. When everyone else is too afraid to act, they pull the trigger and are rewarded.

#collected

Will appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks

3216  Economy / Speculation / Re: India just BANNED Bitcoin? Will BTC now crash? on: February 02, 2018, 05:52:00 AM
You know what it's a shame for us. You are counting words from those people who do not know nothing about Bitcoin/cryptocurrency. They fear this because some day we will take over their control. So what they are trying is creating FUD to break you and you are responding to their trap. Look around listen to the community you are in (this one) avoid this yellow media. They are not here to help you! They are here to destroy you!! When will you learn???

My point is if you blv in crypto currency in the first place then if even BTC goes down to under 100$ i think you won't be worried. JUST BUY coz im sure you missed the boat when it was under 100$ or even 1000$
3217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you be worried? on: February 02, 2018, 05:27:48 AM
Honestly i do not think there should be cause for worry, this space is not for weak hands, i am quite sure that the market will improve in no distant time, if you are 50% 60% 80% down, just take a walk and come back later, you only make a loss when you sell.

Correct absolutely. Just look back few months ago... BTC price was around 5k then it jumped to 7K and then around 20K. We were seeing this was coming. Once this period will be over then we will see another ATH. May be 25K or 30K.

Just wait for the good time.
3218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do when you are over 50% lose on your trades? on: February 01, 2018, 07:42:07 PM
I want to shout out to the community saying HOLD!

Do not break.

You say not worry

I know people who bought in at 16K

and you say not worry

Look what Facebook did

This is what I do not like. Seriously mate! Stop misusing the name of Bitcoin. If these people are so smart to make something better than bitcoin then they would at-least find a good name for their project.
3220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you be worried? on: February 01, 2018, 09:15:48 AM
I would have to suggest that you should have to wait for the right time to do the trading for you may get what you would be expecting in return and let's be patient. The important thing is we should have to learn from our mistakes and don't fall back from the same mistake again.

I try to keep note of my mistakes so that In future I do not forget it. This helps me a lot to avoid the same mistake again. I'm kinda off from trading (because of the unstable market) only focusing on ICOs.
