3201  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor One vs Ledger Nano S-which one is safer? on: March 26, 2021, 10:45:15 PM
Both are safe and you won't have problem with them. If you're worried about getting hacked, it's because of your negligence. Don't input your seeds to any forms online whether you use ledger nano s or trezor.

About PC having no anti virus, there's a chance you'll be hacked by those copy paste address attack. Otherwise, you're free and safe because these two are the most reputable. Btw, I own a Ledger Nano S and its still working.

First,I didn't quote all who commented in this thread because it would take too much space, but I want to thank everyone who helped with their comments.
@jossiel I plan to keep seeds words written on paper and stored on safest place possible.
I have anitvirus, but I also use,well...pirated websites very often and I often have viruses, but I remove them frequently.
I know there is a morality issues with that, but I mostly use them to try product before I decide if I'll going to buy it or not.
That's what you should really be doing for keeping your seeds. You don't put that on any online storage, keeping it on a written form and safe place for the storage shows that you know what you're doing.

Avoid using or downloading things on pirated websites, you might encounter a malware from any of the app that you're downloading there including downloading cracked anti-virus.

Just avail an anti virus that came from the official company, it's not that going to cost you much for your security.

You said there is a chance I'll be hacked by copy paste address attack, what did you mean by that?
A sudden change of your bitcoin address upon copying your own. The one that you'll paste will be pasting the hackers bitcoin address which would likely come from a malware, that's why avoid downloading on pirated websites and as well as unknown apps.
3202  Economy / Economics / Re: The Permanent Portfolio method by Harry Browne on: March 26, 2021, 09:41:45 PM
To make it calmer, I'll add real estate and properties on that chart.

It's easier to manage it and you don't have to be an expert when you're going to have it. You can have it as an appreciative asset and at the same time, you can earn passively through by renting it out.

That's also the beauty of real estate which I've seen missing on his method.

One big thing I find missing is real estate funds. I would probably put half of the 25% hold into real estate just to have some more diversification.
Likewise, 25% is also a good diversification for its part and most of the rich people have it most in real estate.

3204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the BTCST token a good investment? on: March 26, 2021, 06:22:56 PM
It went up to $ 1000, this token is launched by Binance, I think it will go up to its ATH but it is a risk
Went up by $1000? I don't see it that it has went up to that price. It's far from what you're saying. The highest price that it did was $55.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/btc-standard-hashrate-token/

Every investment has its risk and most of the altcoins are aiming to get into Binance. There are only two exchanges that it has it and there's a good volume for both of them. Have you already put your money in it or you're asking because you're about to invest?
3205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling firms helping Government and people during quarantine, literally. on: March 25, 2021, 11:06:11 PM
It's their time to shine, they are one of the biggest earners because gambling is a multi-billion dollar industry, by giving help to those who are in need, they are showing to their detractors that they are not really that bad, and they can be a partner to the government to support in providing basic needs to poor people, it's a win-win situation for the government, for the gambling companies and for the people in need.
They'll be getting an incentive to the government that they're showing their help. It's a big thing for them to do that because the government would always be in favor of them if they're about to register or would be asking for an extension, permits won't be a problem to them anymore.

Casinos that would be shown to the public that they're giving aide to the people on this crisis will have a change of view for those people that look bad on them.
3206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my gripe with the term "crash" on: March 25, 2021, 10:11:23 PM
You're not.

When there are dips like this or correction as what we used to say, the others are in panic questioning how low this should go on. And for those YTbers, they are all for the views.

They also create panic to their viewers as if there's no way bitcoin can recover after all of these corrections.
3207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can now own this symbolic Charles Hoskinson NFT tweet on: March 25, 2021, 09:06:08 PM
that is, I don't know if i understood correctly to collect a tweet by charles-hoskinson transformed into nft for what purpose? does it have or will it ever have any economic value? will anyone ever pay $ 3000 for it?
You get the right to own that tweet if you get to pay the asking price for that tweet or any tweet from popular people that sells it. It has an economic value because there's a monetary value to it and that's the selling price.

And once it's already being passed or someone bought it, that will be passed on that buyer and it's up to him if he's going to resell it at a higher price and if there's the same person that's interested on that tweet as NFT.
3208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Understanding Bitcoin price as a beginner on: March 25, 2021, 08:03:53 PM
Expect more if you've been in here so that even if it don't plunge for some more, you're expectation isn't going to hurt you a lot.

Just 3 days back bitcoin was standing firmly on 60k and right now its falling badly. Price now is 51k. Bitcoin has one of the most volatile pricing model that almost impossible to predict. We may think that its end of bull run while bitcoin may be at 60k in next 2 days. You never know.
It's not falling badly, it's still healthy to say because that's what bitcoin really is. You see it pump as much and as high as it can and you'll also have to think of the correction and when this happens, you think of it as a healthy correction.
3209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some of the unspoken problems associated with bitcoin use. on: March 25, 2021, 07:02:15 PM
Bitcoin being highly volatile isn't an unspoken problem.

It is its natural character ever since it has been made by satoshi. If you're looking at it as a problem, it's not really but it's good that you're educating.

This is where it lands when newbies are falling and making their mistakes. They don't understand what does volatility really means when they invest just because they've heard their friends made money from bitcoin.
3210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 24, 2021, 11:05:21 PM
Nets really improve and they continue to show it up, with how Harden leading the team they've got everything they need to counter
They have improved really and with their upcoming match later against Utah Jazz, it's also one of the best teams that we can say this time and also a contender for the title.

Who's your bet?

Their roster is also good as the Nets.

I guess Nets will lose here, here's the latest update that might decrease the chance of the Nets in winning.

https://www.nba.com/news/james-harden-questionable-blake-griffin-out-vs-jazz

Griffin is confirm out, while Harden is questionable, if Harden is out, its automatic that the Jazz will win, that's easy to predict.
Thanks for that update.

That's a big factor for the Nets if Griffin isn't going to play for this game. That questionable will be found out later on.

I hope that his sore neck would get better on this match so we can see a good matchup against Utah Jazz.

3212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mycelium or Coinbase wallet on: March 24, 2021, 08:53:22 PM
Haven't used both but I think it's better if you'll choose Mycelium.

But don't you have any other choice just as what others are suggesting to you? There are other better wallets there to choose from. And be wary with mobile wallets, there were a lot of reports about fake ones uploaded that you might fall to download.
3213  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Best Hardware Wallet on: March 24, 2021, 07:43:56 PM
Both are reputable.

It seems that many are still into Ledger Nano S and haven't availed yet the X one just like me. And based from experience, it's still a good wallet and it's good with any of the version as long it's from Ledger.

But be careful where you purchase your hardware wallet, buy on approved retailers or buy it from the manufacturer itself.

Why are you interested in a hardware wallet?
He wants to hold for years after buying it on Coinbase Pro.

Wanna send it to a hardware wallet as I'm gonna HODL the next years.
3214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long till we start seeing alt coins take the place of traditional stocks? on: March 24, 2021, 06:41:34 PM
Maybe one could start up a company. Make a crypto currency and get it listed and people buying it would be a way of investing in the company.
Why would one should start up a company?

There are thousands of altcoins already in the market and check how many of them failed. Many of them are good yet, there's more that failed due to many circumstances.

Starting a company is not so difficult
It is.
3215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being impredictable on: March 23, 2021, 05:19:24 PM
Hiding your true emotion is your great weapon when it comes to poker especially if you’re playing on a casino, and I think it takes a lot of practice for you to be able to do this and once you master this one, then you can be a good poker using your own strategy.
Well, at this time going to physical casinos is limited if not allowed. And that means that you cannot apply this strategy or you can have your own poker table at your house.

Hiding emotion can be done easy as if you do not care whatever your card is. You don't have to master it but it is much better of doing it naturally.

Yes, that is right. Perhaps, we can invite our closest friends around our neighborhood to playing poker and remind the old time. We can use that moment to remember what we can in poker games while improving our skills in a poker game.

Perhaps, we can try to use a new trick that we learn from the internet in the poker game, so we can see if that trick can work or modify. Hiding emotion is not easy as it says, especially if we play with people who know who we are and how we play poker.
That's applicable for those countries that don't have much cases these days.

They can practice that if the casinos or real life poker tables are still restricted to operate because of the situation that we're dealing with. And doing that through online tables, no one can read your emotion on it.

Which is easier.
3216  Economy / Speculation / Re: The reasons why Bitcoin price drops recently on: March 23, 2021, 12:31:31 PM
1.  Powell commented cryptocurrencies as "a speculative asset" which leaded to an adjustment in Bitcoin price but a rising trend in Gold

2. US President is considering spending $3 trillion on infrastructure in the States which draws investment capitals into the US stock market

Even there is an adjustment in the Bitcoin price these days but it is expected it will recover soon.

1. That doesn't even count as a reason why there's a bit of correction.

2. I don't also think that's enough reason why we've seen a drop.

Usually, the drops are really caused by most of us, the people of the market and don't think of it as something that you have to be disappointed in. They're normal drops and think how much gain we've made just for 3-4 months.
3217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling firms helping Government and people during quarantine, literally. on: March 23, 2021, 11:15:42 AM
It's good that they're going to help as what it should be done. But I agree with those that have said that there must be something in return for this good deed that they do.

They're an enterprise, a business and every step that they do shall be for the benefit of their businesses. What should be the return of this? maybe giving the people a good understanding that it's fine to gamble because there's a proceed that goes to the unfortunate ones. But still, there's the reminder to gamble moderately.
3218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My Own Top 10 Undervalued Cryptocurrencies Back By Solid Cashcow Business Model. on: March 22, 2021, 09:27:36 AM
Honestly, that's a lot of coins in your portfolio. I'd rather have very few cryptos in my portfolio but the best and the quality coins that I'll hold for a long time and their quantity allocation would be more than diversifying it a lot.

I've proven that the method of having less crypto but having a solid one is working for me. Like first, bitcoin only, then adding a few alts but not more than 4 or 5.

Anyway, that's a good list that OP has except some of them that have been mentioned.
3219  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for things to do in exchange for btc that a highschool student could do on: March 22, 2021, 07:48:16 AM
You should be the one telling your possible clients what you can do.

Are you into coding? social media management? virtual assistant and others?

You should tell what you can do specifically.
3220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to start as a beginner? on: March 22, 2021, 06:36:34 AM
Binance academy would be a good start for you to learn about the basics.

And next would be to learn about the wallets that you should use and what are the pros and cons of it and as well as the disadvantage using an exchange wallet as storage.

I am also a beginner in BTC. Are these youtube videos reliable? There is so much video out there. Do you have a channel you would recommend that is trustworthy? Thanks
Yes, if it is Andreas. You can count on him, he is one of the most popular guy in the bitcoin community.

Do not just watch a crypto channel that you might encounter because many of them are shills and unreliable.
