3221  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a loan on: March 14, 2021, 12:39:16 AM
Yeah I've been eating restaurant leftovers near a beach so the expenses did go all the way down to 0.

Even my 5€/month internet has run out and currently using public wifi on the phone that I found on the ground, as well as a pair of shoes and a pair of socks.

You "found" a phone, shoes, and socks on a beach? What are the odds...
3222  Economy / Reputation / Re: Request Support (or Opposition) for Flags here! on: March 14, 2021, 12:33:54 AM
Does anyone remember the events that were raging about the flag created by marlboroza? I skimmed the attached thread but found no mention of why Timelord2067 opposed this flag. I hope someone has a few minutes to satisfy my curiosity.

He stated the reason quite clearly on page 1:

According to your second link there is already a flag that has been created for this issue:

[...]

My understanding is that @theymos stated two flags cannot be created for the same issue.
3223  Other / New forum software / Re: Do we want Epochtalk? on: March 13, 2021, 01:07:50 AM
It's open source: https://github.com/epochtalk
Instead of criticizing the CSS or make a userscript... make a commit or open an issue. Even if it's just a typo or something. It all adds up. Plus your username would be in the list of contributors for the forum software. That must count for something  Cool

With all due respect - and I mean it, not just saying so; I do respect your effort in this project - I don't like users being told to do it themselves when there are people getting paid to do it. Besides, if I wanted to contribute a year ago and started learning Angular or whatever it was, it would have been quite useless now that it's being converted to something else, and 5 years from now when Vue is no longer cool it will be something else again etc.

I thing the whole ragbag of buzzwords and frameworks in this project is one of its fundamental flaws, not the least due to the short lifespan of said technologies and the lack of skills in the community. I'm not saying go back to PHP but surely maintainability has to figure somewhere in the decisions to use those technologies in a project that's been in development for nearly a decade now and presumably will need to be functioning for a couple hundred years for it to have been worth it.

Reporting bugs is great but even Veleor's valiant effort is a drop in the bucket compared to what a full time QA person could do in a month or two and it would cost probably less than 1% of the total budget. Or at least pay Veleor a couple of bitcoins to keep him going LOL.

Anyway, I just stopped by to express my usual dismay at this project of the century. Carry on.
3224  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Theymos really a lauda? on: March 12, 2021, 04:02:41 PM
I was not sure if the post was made for the lulz or if it was serious.

How dare you. I've never seen nutildah not being 100% serious. He's the most serious user after Foxpup, who is 101% serious (this is totally unrelated  to me getting paid to say this).
3225  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reference topic: Why are these members excluded on trust lists? on: March 12, 2021, 06:41:56 AM
Who doxxed him? And where?

This was a while ago on the Russian board, and the rationale (if you can call it that) was that his opsec was shit so it's fair game. I'm not sure who originally did it - korner would be my guess - but as far as I know there wasn't even a remotely plausible reason for it.
3226  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Theymos really a lauda? on: March 12, 2021, 12:10:29 AM
Brilliant idea. Let's create a thread for every user: "Is theymos xyz".

I mean... you could have asked that user you saw talking about this if they have proof, which they don't, end of story.
3227  Other / Off-topic / Re: GPU prices are about to CRASH, here is how I know it'll happen soon!!! on: March 11, 2021, 11:07:14 PM
We've hit the turning point, so if you are about to buy GPUs on ebay, STOP RIGHT NOW.  Wait a month or so, and when the commie theiving scalpers are hurting, prices will crash.  THEN buy, like I will!

I think you got it backwards. This is pure capitalism (supply and demand) and you're the commie expecting to get something for less than other people are willing to pay.
3228  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chipmixer campaign by the constant pressure of the hypocrite? on: March 11, 2021, 11:00:33 PM
~$150к per week = $600к per month.

LOL stop making such obvious shit up.

$300 max, less than 60 users - can't be more than $18k a week unless you failed 3rd grade math.

In reality it's around $8k because not everyone makes max posts. The spreadsheet is public.
3229  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is President of the United States of America on: March 11, 2021, 06:07:56 AM
made an issue out of nothing

It was not "nothing". Thousands of families were separated and the government was ordered by court to stop doing that and to reunite them, which AFAIK they were unable to do because they fucked up the whole thing bigly (couldn't track family members etc). So it was quite something.

I know you're a huge fan of AOC but even GOP congressfolk weren't too happy about it, mostly because it was going to cost them the midterms.
3230  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chipmixer campaign by the constant pressure of the hypocrite? on: March 11, 2021, 04:20:19 AM
FWIW it would be quite hassle-free to launder money through the many casinos the crypto space has to offer: no problem with that? Never mind the fact that gambling is just an elaborate con, like knowingly playing with a rigged coin.

Come to think of it, Bitcoin was obviously invented for criminals. There is absolutely no conceivable reason why a law abiding person would want to be their own bank and keep their financials private. Preposterous.
3231  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is President of the United States of America on: March 11, 2021, 04:14:36 AM
The reason there's not so much talk about it is because the real issue was Trumps family separation policy, which is not in happening under Biden.

Trump Policy:  If a parent(s) crosses border with children and no documents, they are separated from them.  Parents go to one facility, children go to separate facility.

Yeah no that is not at all what happened.

Huh? Speaking of revisionist history, what happened then? Trump/Sessions/Nielsen pitched family separation as necessary deterrent against illegal immigration. That is, until they did a 180 and started blaming Obama for it. There are court rulings requiring the government to reunite the separated families, so you'd have to go full QAnon to deny it.

I will avoid stretching it

Robbers

Again, privacy is not robbery. If a robber drives away in a Chevy we are not blaming GM for making money by selling a car to a criminal, are we?

If scammers use Monero and get away then we have to look towards it

Look towards what? Ban Monero?

but that does not mean we should start supporting scammers by promoting services that facilitate them, because they will eventually find a way.

You might have a point if ChipMixer existed for the sole purpose of facilitating scams but I don't think that's the case, if for no other reason than myself finding it useful and not being a scammer.

Reasons that lead me to create the flag

Doesn't sound like a proper flag. Tilde is the way to deal with that stuff.

That is your choice if you want to oppose or support it, I will not comment on that.

What are your views on other parts of the problem with legendster? You cannot just reply to a single part when you are taking action based on that. I would love to have your opinion on what you feel about the retaliatory feedbacks left by him on others.

That is my view. He's misusing the trust system in his personal squabbles ==> tilde. Speaking of retaliatory feedbacks - you did exactly that against him.
3234  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chipmixer campaign by the constant pressure of the hypocrite? on: March 10, 2021, 07:10:44 PM
I already gave you the article that confirmed mixers are illegal.

No. There was an article about a lawsuit against a Bitcoin mixer. Not sure how that story ended but someone (even the government) filing a lawsuit and alleging things doesn't make it a fact.

But let's take this one step forward. If murdering others is legal in my jurisdiction does that mean I can murder anyone and even promote guides on how one should kill others? You have to think at moral level, if something is helping scammers get away, just don't promote it.

Let's take it one step backward out of the fallacy land. Privacy is not murder. Scammers would get away without mixers just fine (using XMR for example) and not having mixers would limit the choices for legal uses while doing nothing to stop the scams.

Source please that confirms mixers are legal? I would never do the same argument ever again, the moment I can see how mixers are legal.

The burden of proof is on you. In my jurisdiction there is no law saying "Bitcoin mixers are illegal", or "Bitcoin transactions are illegal", or "owning a car wash is illegal" or any such thing so you're demanding to prove a negative. Prove that you're not Satoshi Nakamoto.
3237  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chipmixer campaign by the constant pressure of the hypocrite? on: March 09, 2021, 11:45:52 PM
But mixers are defined as illegal

No.
3238  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chipmixer campaign by the constant pressure of the hypocrite? on: March 09, 2021, 10:56:20 PM
Yoshit scams lets say 90% of the users and 10% are not scammed, and I am among the 10%, does that enable me to promote them without any problem? Because hey, yes they are scammers but they don't scam everyone!

To the best of my knowledge, Chipmixer scammed 0% of its users.

Similarl, CM doesn't always mix coins for hackers, but at times they do.

At times bad people use this forum too, so lock your account and go to your safe space before agents Mulder and Scully come knocking on your door.
3239  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chipmixer campaign by the constant pressure of the hypocrite? on: March 09, 2021, 08:49:52 PM
It's all. No hypocrisy. No personal vendettas.

Yeah it's personal. You've been trolling Ratimov for quite a while. You didn't do this shit for any other users who got removed from the campaign. As far as troll jobs go this is quite lame.
3240  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump owns the Republican party on: March 09, 2021, 03:20:49 AM
Trump actually put out another statement today telling supporters of the GOP to donate money directly to him, instead of donating to the party / committees within the party. Here is that:

Oh fantastic. It's also great to see NYT acting as his proxy on Twitter Grin

In case of any doubt about Trump's motives, money is always a safe bet. I have long believed that he will stay in politics after losing the 2020 election just to collect donations (and launder them through his properties etc), just didn't think he'll do it so blatantly. But why not, he owns the party, he can do no wrong.
