I.) Follow Bitmain on Twitter
II.) Wait for a new version of the respective preferred miner (much better efficiency)
III.) Wait, wait, wait...
IV.) Stay hungry and keep your bitmains homepage open at least one hour before the sale starts. Keep refreshing...
V.) Buy it and have fun.
I hope it helps.
All the best

LMAO!!!! ALL TRUE! Awesome post!! ( you forgot; stay up all night for a week straight ) That's what the Twitter is for. Bitmain loves to announce new batches and if your phone or device is set to ring whenever a new batch tweet comes out, you'll be up pretty quick. Some people likely have buy bots for the miners as well.

You can make miners pretty quiet with some relatively cheap modding, and you can always soundproof your mining room, Philipma should know a lot about that. Just always remember to have proper ventilation.
Even if there has been lots of taxation recently it's still best just to pay it. Not worth trying to avoid it imo, it's most likely illegal.

I'm mainly concerned this is going to be another huge bust for AMD and we're going to have another 200 series epidemic where there was a huge surplus of Hawaii chips after Litecoin and Scrypt mining died off; it forced AMD to make a 300 series where not much changed but a few minor tweaks to the Hawaii core. It could also be a reason why AMD didn't go full gear in production for Polaris.

And bitcoin's price is up, up and away (hopefully). Im confused as to what Bitcoin cash...will do...arent we heading towards a hard fork ? so 3 coins. Where does that leave BCH ?
Well, as of now BCH is just a trader and speculator's toy to mess around with and a miner's dream for more profit. 2X will be another fork like you said and it could have a more drastic effect on BTC's price (and possibly mining if it uses another BCH-like difficulty model). Only time can tell at this point, but from what I can tell 2X won't be too pleasant.

You can run miners on dial-up or satellite connections, the worst that could happen is going to be stale shares and possibly more invalid and rejected, consistent internet is the big factor. You only need a web accessible device to connect to the miner to configure it and you'll be good to go for the most part. Don't forget to check up on your miner every now and then to make sure nothing is going wrong.
I've never run my mining farm on dialup - that MIGHT be pushing bandwidth limits a LITTLE for a largish farm but should be fine for just a few mining rigs. I did run it for a few years on a very poor quality Virgin Mobile 3G cell connection, that hit 400kbps on a GOOD wee hours of the night and was usually more like 150-200, no issues. I did run it for 2 years on an Exede sat connection (which was a MAJOR UPGRADE from the 3G except SOMETIMES on lag), the 650-700ms ALL THE TIME lag cost less than 1% in stale shares on Litecoin or Ethereum mining and wasn't noticeable on Bitcoin mining. Exede was metered, but I normally used less than 100 megs a day and that was INCLUDING online gaming and web browsing, NOT just mining (Game PATCHES were sometimes an issue). I never assumed we were talking about farms here, but I actually tried using a couple miners on Dial-Up and it worked just fine. The losses you'll incur running such connections are minor in most cases like you mentioned either way, and dial up CAN be had for free or very cheap in many areas in the US and possibly Canada. I wonder if a rasberry pi is good enough as a computer. You guys already said the computer specs don't really matter, just the internet connection. I'll have to research on that later.
As long as you can use a browser or even SSH to whatever IP the miner is running on, or you can open CGminer/BFGminer to run a USB-connected miner, it will work. For Bitmain devices, remember that the default login is root:root.

Am having Android and am interested in altcoin can I go?
You can sure go ahead with some altcoins but you won't get too much from mining with an ARM CPU. Watch out and make sure the CPU doesn't get too hot, and keep in mind you will likely shorten the life of your device by mining. Most phones have horrible heat dissipation and suffer from terrible heat issues.

Here it comes! Just another leg up on the path to $5000. Wouldn't be too bad if we stopped here today, either. A few coins are selling but ATH is definitely possible.

Any Server PSU with a breakout board and 6-pin cables will work if you are looking for an economic way to power these things. Normal computer PSUs also work, but they are generally more expensive. I use DPS-800GBAs with their breakout boards for pretty much all my operations as they are pretty much silent and are very durable.
For the CPU, assuming you aren't doing XMR mining or something like that a PicoPSU will save you a lot on the PSU side as well.

Quite the rollercoaster: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fbitcoin.sipa.be%2Fspeed-lin-2k.png&t=663&c=P5IpEaWyO5vfJQ) Miners likely planned this all along to maximize their profits while mining, too bad this will eventually tear apart BCH at the seams. Halving and similar events will come along on that chain much quicker than on the BTC chain if this continues.

Segwit is FINALLY here! I don't feel any change yet but this stuff takes time. Now we're all waiting for the knife hanging over our heads, 2X, to come. :/

1 block till SW, hold on to your pants! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Will be funny if it's Bitmain that mines this last block...

I feel like BCC is just a new development for miners to maximize their profits by sloshing back and forth and taking advantage of the oscillations in difficulty. Seems like most people are more interested in FUDding everything than this potential; hopefully 2X won't be another alt like this.

10000% this thing is going to become price gouged to hell and there's going to be a million "doesn't work on windoze" threads and questions to Asus. Seems like a pretty sticky situation coming up. Supporting triple power supply seems very interesting.
The only thing is, nobody is going to use PCI power on these boards and the CPU will be the only big power sucker on this. Seems way more economical to hook up a big ol server PSU and use PCIe 6pins to GPUs and then through risers. Am I missing something or is this board just overkill in the power department?

This is awkward.
Segway.
Did I miss any free coins between Clams and BCH? I know I missed some Byteballs. Anything else?
Stellar Lumens, got a couple bucks from that free although price plummeted a little while after distribution. Just transferring the currency was a little bit confusing at first, but I got my tx through in time.

Generally speaking D3 will be better in most ways due to likely quicker ROI even with more X11 ASICs flooding the market and more possible profit as well. It's really up to you in the end though, just watch out and don't buy from people selling accounts. They can go to Bitmain saying they lost their account or got hacked after the sale and you'll be fucked.

I do it every two months. Rugs are more notorious for giving off even more dust, so make sure you check for dust on your rig if it is present and just take a bicycle pump or can of compressed air and get it off.

Why waste electricity putting a card into a PCIE interface which will require a computer running it (even MORE power), when you can have a simple FPGA like a Xilinx do all of that work for you through a special interface which uses much less power? Butterfly Labs specifically tried doing a PCIE based miner but nobody uses the PCIE part of it and just keeps the miner on its sled because there's too much of a hassle to do so. It pretty much makes no sense to do that. If you want to mine as a hobby there are MANY more ways to do so without the hassle of physically mounting it into a PCIE slot and connecting power inside a case or whatever the PC is in. If you are trying to hit the jackpot solomining Sidehack's Compacs, 2Pacs and future Bitfury miners are a much better way to do that than whatever big miners are out there today.

Hopefully the November 2X fork won't cause a similar issue or else they'll have even more to slosh between. I guess we'll be seeing BCH for a long time and possibly 2X if the entire community doesn't go with it. Will be interesting for BTC price as well.
