P.S. rpietila all the other usernames were mine, and you didn't pay the 2.5 BTC and defrauded the written contract you made in PM with TheFascistMind. I thought BCX's threat was real. It was only after I made that effort that I realized he was bluffing. I did not act in bad faith nor dishonestly.

What?! I asked the payment details in my PM to TheFascistMind (and never got them). Obviously I cannot take them from anyone else just because he claims to be a person I owe money.

Trust in Economy haw is sold to The Prince of New Liberty

Well, that pretty much reveals the essential..  Cheesy

Congratulations to the new Prince!

Town Council Decisions concerning the Trust in Economy Borough

We see that the Trust in Economy borough has quickly established itself in economic activity - about 106 million per year is earned by the NPC population working there (cf. 116 million by NPC's and 54 million by PC's in the Old Town). It is imperative that we start to capture a larger chunk of their income to the local economy.

Therefore we have opened the C chapelry for building. Due to its central and valuable location, and the clear opportunities for a nice windfall from the quarry workers, we are unable to give this land for free, there would be too many takers.

The price will be restricted, though, to 50 million per quadrat. The juiciest lots are allocated to the most venerable characters and institutions in town. If they refuse to buy their allotment in a reasonable time of about 3 years, they will join the rest of the lots. (Church and Town allotments are donated, but HM and Prince of OZ will have to pay for theirs.)

The rest of the lots outside the monumental Trust in Economy square, are in Dutch Auction, with price starting from 50/q and going down until all are sold.

The other chapelries will be made available and as affordable as possible, once they become available from the quarries.

Mayor and Councillors of the Most Ancient Town of CryptoTown

Development of the Trust in Economy Borough (2)

- A one, clear, major, central square in the whole borough. All possible other squares are two notches below. This makes the land around it very valuable, and it is zoned to 8 large lots for important constructions. Aim is to boost the town finances as well as to beautify it.

- 8 radial streets

- One ring road acts as a link connecting all the chapelries.

- The land in the 8 "quarry chapelries" becomes available when the quarries finish. By that time, the centre should be already quite developed. The land in the other chapelries would be given to the first builder, after meeting a minimum e, which can be as low as 0.15. In practical terms, you build a 90 sqm townhouse next to a road, you get the total of 6 q of land from Town.

Anonymint, how come you keep switching usernames when posting on this forum?  You have some interesting ideas you contribute and posing under all these different usernames makes it somewhat difficult to find your previous posts.

Other people are trying to appear as AnonyMint. This was first found out with the BCX-XMR debate, where we concluded that all the major other actors were bought accounts, or impostors, and played by one group. Why on earth? That's still to be found out. At least Monero price is down so the attack did accomplish something, although I doubt it would have been much different anyway.

Development of the Trust in Economy Borough (2)

The Town Council has decided to take office and do it in the Town Council Meeting Room in the Town Hall Annex. The first meeting there (IRC) will be held today 20:00 GMT.

1. Where do we meet? Since we are 4, the proposal is to take the Council Meeting Room in the Town Hall Annex in use. It is 55 sqm and 7-9 m high, with probably the record window ratio of all the rooms in the town (42:55, with most of the windows towards wide open south). The lux of the building is 110%, and the local luxury in the room is about 200%, which was the limit when it was constructed. The building (#65) was built in 1468, but this room has never been used even once in 57 years. During HM and HG tenure, the Council meetings were held in Priory Hotel mostly.

The most pressing need is to decide about the 2-C chapelry, a very distinct and important piece of land if developed properly, the destination of all driver rides if the tourist does not know where to go, or a common language is not found. And millions of tourists we will have soon, as The Marquess of F.S. is about to update on the development.

There is a tab called "OVERVIEW-2" which outlines the Mayor's plan. The decision will be reached in the Council, but public discussion can help the Councillors to make the best decisions. Features:

- A one, clear, major, central square in the whole borough. All possible other squares are two notches below. This makes the land around it very valuable, and it is zoned to 8 large lots for important constructions. Aim is to boost the town finances as well as to beautify it.

- 8 radial streets/roads lead to all the chapelries, and 4 of these (N,E,S,W) are major roads that go to the borough gates. East gate is most important of these, since that is the road to the Old Town only about a mile away. The road goes through the Citadel, which was almost ready when the barbarian threat subsided, and still is - the Donjon(Keep) rising to 25 m height, drawbridges from the town to Donjon in good condition, but the outer wall being only 6 m high, without much any defensive structures, except 3 cannons hidden inside the walls. The cannons were hot in the 1400s, but are becoming commonplace and alarming stories say that they soon have enough firepower to destroy the stone walls. Oh well...

- One ring road acts as a link connecting all the chapelries.

- The land in the 8 "quarry chapelries" becomes available when the quarries finish. By that time, the centre should be already quite developed. The land in other chapelries would be given to the first builder, after meeting a minimum e, which can be as low as 0.15. In practical terms, you build a 90 sqm townhouse next to a road, you get the total of 6 q of land from Town.

- We have already decided that the Nobles need to have their palace in the Old Town (since they will have an additional requirement of a country castle anyway soon). It is under discussion whether Masters can live in the new chapelry or not, and we think that it should probably be allowed. There they are near their workshops, research, and other things in the scope of their mastery, and also the land is cheaper allowing the aspiring new players become Masters sooner.

Councillor Paulson has also a plan, which he can present himself, to the council, or to all if he so wishes.

Mistress Asenath has set a production goal of 500,000 stones produced in the next year and is working diligently in order to accomplish this.

Once a million stones annual output is reached, she's going to be Baroness Asenath.

Stone news A.D. 1526

The production figures for next year are already known (the stone will be added when the year changes), and NLQI seems to have increased its production the most: to 346,875 stone.

Sunday did not bring any rumors, but the usual consultation for questions is possible. NLQI and iluvbitcoins' company will get a "big question" and the others a "small one". Ping us in IRC! Smiley

The Quasquicentennial Jubilee of His Majesty rpietila I, The King of Crypto Kingdom, etc. etc.

Construction of Villa Rotonda

Our dream of 50 years has now been fulfilled as the Villa Rotonda (855 sqm, 15 m high dome) is constructed on the pristine area between the Village and the TIE haw.

It will house the School of Economics, and other applied and practical sciences. The building in set on an artificial landscape (hill), and features 3 laboratories, a cafeteria ($$), the central (dome) hall, King's personal offices when he wants to interact with the applied academia, 3 classrooms with groupwork rooms, 4 steep opulent spiral staircases, 6 apartments for the scientists, and a host of other rooms.

The cost of construction was 590 million (690,000/sqm) and the lux% was 125%, to commemorate this special year.

Promotions

All hail the Prince of OZ!  "This grand Jubilee is the right occasion to uncork a new level, and the former Marquess of OZ, Karl Hungus, is the right person to receive this virgin honour. The Prince has embarked a decades-long building program to make our city beautiful and indeed it now is. Without regard to cost, he has built the Theatre, Academy of Arts, Art Gallery and Art Studio and The Medical Center, he was the first to have wenches, stables, etc.; his entrepreneurship is unwavering. Our Majesty has enjoyed many a conversation with him in the best surroundings in town, and is humbled by this opportunity to pay back some of what The Prince of OZ has donated to the town and its development over the years."

All hail the Marquess of Forte Spagnolo! "We remember the most ancient times about 100 years ago, when Forte Spagnolo was the second highest noble in the Kingdom. After that he embarked on many journeys, but has now returned and solidified his position as the pillar of the game in so many ways. Raising him to his former glory and position is the highest joy I can possibly feel in this great year of celebration."

All hail Saddam the Earl! "The balanced gameplay, the friendly attitude and helping the other players eg. by becoming a treasurer, have not gone unnoticed, and we rejoice of this opportunity to promote him Earl with all the associated privileges and responsibilities."

We would have liked to promote so many other also, but sadly the minimum requirements of house and clothes are still lacking from many.

Granting of Knighthood in the Most Ancient Order of the King

The Councillors, Lord Paulson and Lord sXpher, are Knighted in the AOK. The new position of elected Councillors demands great foresight, diplomacy and hard work from them, and the membership in this exclusive Knighthood is a way to gird the loins for the task. The chain of 100 gold is given to each in the ceremony in the Throne Room. (Dame Roopatra is already Serjeant in the said Order, and second only to the King in the administration of the game.)

Whereas, the truly revolutionary, powerful actions or paradigm shift inventions empower and provide services across a range of classes.

I'm Business Class in BTC and definitely First Class in XMR. when will i get rich?  Grin

I believe the key is in empowering and providing services to the class that is one below your own.

With this in mind, I have been aiming my Bitcoin Supernode initiatives to the ones having BTC100-BTC10,000, and my XMR hangaround gang is also the large holders.

BCN price is easier to keep propped up, because it is doubtful that more than 5% of the supply has ever been in the hands of the public (others than the BCN team).

XMR is more subject to market forces, since the number of people holding more than 1% of the XMR is rather large, and any one of them may decide to call it quits and dump. Similarly the existing, or new, people can buy. Trying to either suppress or pump the price in this environment are losing propositions.

Smartest thing I've heard you say in a month. Welcome back. Wink

Exactly Smiley

Anyway, I have been really busy lately, whatever has come out of the discussion to change the mining rate of Monero?

Nothing has been decided yet AFAIK. I think it's hard to find a consensus on such a thing, so it will probably not be changed.

PS: This is just my personal opinion.

The MEW executives, the largest voteholders, and the core team members, have been searching for a concensus for quite a long time now. Since such has not been reached, there is no realistic alternative to leaving the emission just as it is now. This is also enjoying the greatest support of all alternatives, so we can safely say that it is the best choice as well.

We had no idea of the ordeal the Earl of Forte Spagnolo was going through while we waited for his voting decision. Now, it seems to us that the following list is acceptable to the supermajority of the votes:

His Majesty
Baroness Roopatra, AOK-S, MG-4
Baron Paulson, MG-5
Baron sXpher, MG-3.

If 124,001 gold vetoes the list, they can nominate a character, which will replace Baron Paulson. If no such block of gold is found, the list of Councillors of 1525 is final.

The work starts immediately in IRC.

No realistic opposition is possible any more, after all the major stakeholders have voiced their support. The nomination is therefore FINAL.

The Bishop has expressed relief that he can give his post to the younger generation. (After starting at the age of 58, His Grace had served in the Town Council for 105 years.)

Congratulations to all! The Mayor will be sending a memo soon.

His Majesty's inspection on the stone quarries

The major part of ground was untouched everywhere. Some quarries had been dug deeper than the others. Guys were shoveling the soil, which was tedious due to the small and big stones dotting the soil. The stones were collected to heaps that were let to be washed in rainwater. Some of the heaps were already transported to be used as building stone.

The locals have provided their animals and carts for transport, and were supposedly paid in stone since no record in the accounts can be seen. In many places, guys took turns to work, and enjoyed this relief greatly. They seemed to enjoy their life as much as it is possible, considering being a quarry worker in 1524. The professionals seemed mostly stressed and out-of-place, though. The highest boss in every place looked like his working conditions were acceptable.

Since today is Sunday, there can be no changes of any kind, and the production of 1526 will be based on (almost) the same inputs as 1525, which also is an interesting thing to analyze.

Or, perhaps those companies are counting inactive users with pennies in their accounts (like MtGOX did, as you pointed out yourself).

I agree with your premise that there are several "classes" of holders. There is even a high-quality thread that discusses the concept:

First Class - 30% of the coins, <0.1% of the holders
Business Class - 30%, 3%
Middle Class - 30%, 17%
Entry Class - 10%, 80%.

In the Entry Class, many hold only a very meager amount, but this (deciding to buy, and going through the hurdles of doing it) is much better than not being at that point yet, or not even knowing about Bitcoin. So it surely must count.

It is difficult to go around the facts that show that several million people have tried Bitcoin. Of them, the number of continuous, active, users is still less than a million, which can easily be seen from the blockchain address usage activity. How much less, the answer would warrant some thorough analysis by an impartial analyst.

3238  Economy / Economics / Re: Distribution of bitcoin wealth by owner on: December 13, 2014, 03:24:08 PM
The methodology 31 pages ago states that a bitcoin owner is a person who "owns" bitcoins valued at least $1.

The ownership is regardless of how they are distributed in addresses, therefore the number of owners may be higher or smaller than the number of addresses holding bitcoins that are valued at least $1.

There are several ways of holding bitcoins that do not directly correspond to addresses. Coinbase alone is supposed to have 2.5 million clients, and they serve one country only. Similarly (I cannot divulge exactly this business-critical information) in another country, the leading bitcoin merchant has 0.6% of the country's population as clients.

The number of bitcoins is known information, as well as the market cap. What can be said with certainty, is that the average holding of bitcoins, especially valued in fiat, has declined significantly after (probably) being more than $10,000 in the last peak valuation.

When I find the time, I will surely return to this interesting topic. The hibernation is the time of holding for the past holders, and accumulation for the new ones. When the price starts to move, I will be back. Just as I said after the April-13 peak had deflated. And did Smiley

Due to the unprecedented interest in NLQI shares The Marquess now offers 1.5M per share and there are 10 available at 2M.  Please accept our apologies for the price volatility while we seek some market clearing prices.  Congratulations to any who wish to enjoy this 50% price appreciation in just one year by cashing out.

Earl of Tavastia has been enterprising enough to buy 50 shares. He is (a little too) eager for a quick buck and can sell 25 shares @ 2.0 mil if anyone is interested.

A rare exercise of parental control, His Majesty summons the Earl in the Room of Abacus in the Royal Palace II floor, windows facing north to the King's Park, and all the majestic palaces glowing in the setting sun.

- Son, you see all these palaces?

(Of course, Zechariah owns one of them)

- They are built of stone. The NPC's said that the quarrying site they chose is the best there is. The quarries now established will satisfy our Town's stone needs for several decades to come. Selling any of your meager stake at this stage is utter foolishness. On the contrary, we should convene how to increase the royal influence in this important business, which we now cannot directly operate due to the oath sworn to the geologists.

(convention)

The Earl of Tavastia withdraws his offer to sell 25 shares of NLQI @ 2.0 and places a new offer to buy 25 shares @ 2.0 instead.
