Sorry to destroy the party. These monoliths are work of a group called Aunty Donna to promote their Netflix show with the help of the Youtuber I Did a Thing. Could not believe it at first but hey they even have the monolith locations.

3222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Effective tips to maximize low wager slot games on: December 10, 2020, 07:07:12 AM
If you are a beginner and just observing how slot games works then this could be the best option to take.

Low wager = small gain but also a small amount to lose.

I did this before, I come into gambling that full of worries and keep asking myself, what IF I lose? So what I did is to put only a small amount just to stay a little bit longer and enjoy myself out there. And besides, from that losing experience, from that wagering only small amounts we are learning and benefiting from it.
You also should consider that slots have the high house edge as far as I know, there are cases where slots have lower edge but it is only in online although it looks like it favors the player, we also have to look at the fact that the chance to win a big change in slot is fairly low especially in online slots because of RNG factors. In the end you will lose more than you win and I do think that it will not make a difference if you play at lower wager because you will play more because you have more money at your disposal which psychologically affects you in a way that you will play more without realizing that you have wagered more than ever.
3223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Back then and Now Non-believer to Believer on: December 10, 2020, 05:16:19 AM
Bitcoin is a journey.

I was scammed by all the shit-coins too, lost a lot.

Bitcoin is now every second thought in my brain. It completely changed my life. It is so valuable to the world - we are still so early!
We need more people like this, believing in the potential despite the adversaries that fester the crypto world. I did have my doubts back then but at the same time those doubts about criminal activities perpetrated through cryptocurrency piqued my interest and from there and then the rabbit hole of crypto world is where I am right now and I am happy that I was curious back then.

To OP, I hope that the scams in the past made a valuable lesson about not letting your guard down and at the same time being open-minded to the ideas that may come your way and ask for your assistance.
3224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millennials Are Twice As Likely To Buy Bitcoin Than Gold on: December 10, 2020, 04:42:51 AM
I would say Gold or other similar commodity are a hedge against inflation. It would make sense for the more conservative population to be purchasing precious metals as compared to other commodities. I wouldn't say that it for certain but most of the younger generation tends to be more well versed in technology and are generally more willing to take the risks. I find Bitcoin to be more of a suitable investment as compared to Gold and if history is any indication, Bitcoin tends to fare well in the long term.
Not just that younger generations are more inclined to technology but also the fact that it is difficult to buy a gold and there are a lot of fees and papers needed to get one. In my country, when you buy gold that is from the central bank, there are papers needed before hand like personal details, tax and insurance. You also need to pay for the storage as you can't hold the gold for yourself, they safekeep it for a price. I think that convenience also plays a role on why young generations are choosing bitcoin over gold.
3225  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Primedice = Prison for your money on: December 10, 2020, 02:41:27 AM
What they are doing with your personal details isn't fair enough, because that's breaching an identity. Unfortunately you've dealt on them without any knowledge about staging funds, and I think 8 hours was a long delay for you to wait. It seems that they're starting to scam you, I hope it won't happen actually as it shows signs of fraud actions.
Never thought that these withdraw holding problems is this much prevalent. I do not get it either but shouldn't that be clear at the first place because it involves money. Not to mention that they also have a very unresponsive and useless support team, I am not saying that out of thin air but most gambling site accusation have an incompetent support team which is really sad because this is the only bridge for customers to connect with the management. Hopefully, things will go the other way but knowing the way these website operate and how soulless they are, I think it will be close to impossible.
3226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos and Sportsbooks missing from Bitcointalk? on: December 09, 2020, 10:08:34 AM
I don't even know that site because I search for the site from here. If I search from the search engine, I think that will be too risky because we don't know if that site has a reputation or not.
It is better to use the crypto gambling website from here, which has ANN, so if we have a problem, we can directly ask the staff or talk with the owner.
I don't try to play on the site that is not listed here because I think it is enough to use the site from here to just playing gambling, and I feel it is safe to use that site to play gambling for some time.
That is why OP said to do your research. Never thought that I would see some unlisted websites since there is a lot of gambling website in the gambling board. I agree with you taking caution in playing in this sites, it is the Internet after all. Most top searches in the search engine is okay in my experience although there is a growing popularity of poisoning the search engine by making scam sites become top search, although it is not that prevalent, I think that it is still a good move to play at the listed ones.
3227  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Found a telegram scammer. Beware! on: December 09, 2020, 05:50:12 AM
At least you have a record of scammers address so every possible victim can search the address reputation first before having transaction.

It's not really secure to have a transaction in telegram ,you are giving a great suggestion to use escrow in the forum instead of transferring money to him directly. Most of the victim of fake buying scam is they are greedy to earn money for selling ,so they grab 50% sending transactions first and ending up to be a victim.
Had run ins with a couple of scammers, can't do some digging as most of them use stolen identity. Good word of advice about doing transaction in Telegram, it is a scammer's paradise. The fact that they are going to do a 50% in the first place is fishy in every possible way. You cannot blame the reasoning used by the scammer though obviously to lower your guard about suspecting that he/she might be a scammer. Online transactions, especially peer to peer is the most problematic because you have to establish trust with a stranger.
3228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The biggest 10 countries that gamble the most. on: December 09, 2020, 05:08:19 AM
This is surprising because and probably incorrect as well because first chart does not have US to be among top 10. And gambling hub is Las Vegas in the world and not featuring in top 10 itself questions a lot of things and about incorrect data. Second chart looks better and yes got some idea about few countries who does have good number of gambling users.

I think the first chart is more on the nationality and the other is overall gambling activity. I do not know if that could be the case but sometimes data from other people does not match maybe because of different target. Another thing I have noticed is the other chart seems to not match the other one because the first one is more on average loss of an individual while the other seems to be annual loss as a whole.
3229  Other / Archival / Re: Do i need a license if i want to create a crypto gambling site? on: December 09, 2020, 04:29:42 AM
If you want to make a better paltform for gambling sites and wanna see more traffic then you should do this. License can help you to make the customers understand that they are in the right place and their assets are safe here which is the most important thing in gambling.
License is a necessary to be honest but in my country, having one costs an arm and a leg, it is definitely worthy though as we all know, it makes you immune to legal persecution. Online though, I do think that it will be different as some sites could just get their website secure and make it look legitimate, I do not think that online gambling is not that necessary as long as you deliver the services.
3230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we keep bitcoin or not? on: December 09, 2020, 03:56:53 AM
Bitcoin price will be down, but it will go up again. That will always like that. If you can use the time to buy low and sell high, you don't have to worry if you will lose your bitcoin because you can profit every time the price increases. You may need to hold some bitcoin and don't sell it if the price does not reach the next highest price or new ATH. I hope you don't have to worry because the price will be back to $19,700 soon, and right now, maybe you need to buy more bitcoin while the price does not increase yet.
That is a nice advice to live by when hodling bitcoin. I do not have a lot currently but my plan was to sell at ATH, although it won't be much hopefully I can start from there and eventually grow my bitcoin.
3231  Economy / Economics / Re: EU reality and challenges. on: December 09, 2020, 03:18:44 AM
That is a mark of a capitalistic society. Helping big companies with taxpayer's money and neglecting small businesses. If EU does not update their archaic policies, I think that things will be difficult for the next generation and it is also difficult to do economic experiments, especially now that the popularity of Universal Basic Income and other likely economic concepts is booming.
3232  Economy / Economics / Re: Valid Business Model? on: December 09, 2020, 02:42:10 AM
If you were to have a business model like this, I think that a physical office space is necessary because they need some way of consistent point of contact, with online only interaction, there will be difficulties as some clients are not inclined to do an online contact. I think it is a valid model although I am not a business expert, I think using your connection to suit your clinet needs is an effective cash cow, you do not have to spend much on equipment and the most you spend on is office lease.
3233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World Map of Bitcoin Legality on: December 09, 2020, 01:58:06 AM
I mean the majority of the country is legal so most of the country is probably not against bitcoin technology which is a good thing since they are not banning it.

Also, they could still access bitcoin if they want to since it was just the internet, if you have the resources countries cant really banned it from you. 129 Countries is already a good number and surely gonna increase in the coming years.

Most of the countries would not agree with bitcoin technology because it's a decentralized system so we could expect some countries to ban it and there nothing really we could do about it.
There are other factors that could be the reason why there is no activity of bitcoin in that region, remember that some countries have little to no infrastructure to facilitate Internet. 129 countries is not a good number for me, it has been a decade and I think that the numbers should have been pumped up a long time ago. Total ban of blockchain will be difficult because VPNs, Geomasks, and Virtual Machine can be used to access it because total Internet ban is impossible.
3234  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Philippine central bank embraces digital tokens on: December 08, 2020, 07:27:35 AM
Para sa akin, masyado pang maaga para mag expect about sa sariling digital currency kasi for sure matagal pa bago mangyari ito. It will take years sa pag-aaral at paglilitis bago natin makita ang magiging epekto nito. Personally, I don't expect much sa gobyerno pero one thing na nakikita kong maaaring maging magandang dulot nito is once na official na silang makapag launch ng digital currency, at maoopen nito yung mga Pilipino tungkol dito at magkakaroon ng kaalaman.
I think okay lang mag expect, ang masama is mataas agad yung standards which generates a false hype na pwedeng downfall ng mga taong magiinvest dahil sa generated fake hype. Sangayon ako regarding sa gobyerno, sobrang dami nilang problema externally and internally which could lead to disaster kung sakaling mag launch sila ng maaga.
3235  Economy / Economics / Re: My opinion on Inflation w/c affects greatly on fiat currency and how to beat it! on: December 08, 2020, 06:50:19 AM
The overall inflation on my country is still fairly low. I invested in some inflation backed bonds in the past, they pay a coupon linked to the inflation rate. So in real terms you don't lose any money. But since the inflation rate is so low there is not a lot of returns earned with these bonds. It is better to just store value.. Going into crypto currencies to avoid inflation is a great idea. For me it's not really why I am buying bitcoins, but it's a great side effect.
This is what happens when you know how to work your way around unfair situation, you use them to your advantage.

Inflation is not necessarily a bad thing, if the inflation is kept at bay, it encourages growth in the economy, salary for employees will likely increase. The worst thing that can happen is deflation in value which causes lay offs and lower fiat value. The best thing that you can do to fight inflation is to invest in something that gains interest over time, like stocks, gold and bonds. Crypto is another story because it does not conform whether that fiat inflates, deflates or hyperinflates.
3236  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Pakistan Moves to Legalize Bitcoin as Economy Tumbles on: December 08, 2020, 05:48:08 AM
With this news I think that it would greatly affect also the decisions India is having right now regarding their back and forth decisions regarding the status of the crypto industry in their country. Also from what I know they are also identical when it comes to their industries as well as the corporations having business in both countries so there is really a chance that these companies from Pakistan are also eyeing India as one of their targets for their business.
If this resolution comes to a pass and India follows through with Pakistan, that could be the worst or best thing to happen. It is difficult to say for now but this mirroring could be a helpful bond to attract Indian crypto investors and vice versa which in turn help in easing the tensions of this two nuclear countries. The worst is that the other side becomes paranoid that having investors and company from the other country is a planted spy, I do not believe that it could be the case but seeing the tension between Pakistan and India for a long time, I think that is a safe bet.
3237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy strengthens its Bitcoin game, invests addition $50M in BTC on: December 08, 2020, 05:00:46 AM
The institutions are the new whales that have supported bitcoin now, I would not surprise the bitcoin price has not fallen beyond what we can think, the price yet at $19000 up till now, it is just because of the institutional whales. The retailer whales are selling bitcoin while the institutional whales are buying it in a way the price of bitcoin has not fallen in such a way that can result to price crash. MicroStrategy is part of the institutional whales and I still expect them to buy more bitcoin.
If we let them buy more, there will soon come to a point where MS will become a monopoly. Hopefully, other institution join the fray and promote a healthy competition among whales which is beneficial for individual hodlers.
3238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taxation of 30% on gains from Bitcoin investment? on: December 08, 2020, 04:12:59 AM
look like goverment need money and try to squeeze people out of money.
its all fine to support your goverment but the goverment never tells you how they are going to use the tax money.

Tax money is used to build roads, schools, bridges and other infrastructures, fund relief operations, make the circulation of money more diverse, pay government employees. There should be a public records for government expenditures look it up. I do not agree with the taxation of bitcoin especially the 30% but we all shouldn't demonize tax because in a way, we benefitted from it one way or another, it is also hypocritical of us to hate taxes because we already are paying one no matter what.
3239  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to become a Member on: December 08, 2020, 03:03:16 AM
Everyone says that you should create a useful post, and if you do so, go on Beginners board and try to apply for merit, a lot of Merit Source are active there to help Newbies, you just need to link what you think is the most constructive post, the chances of getting a merit is not a 100% percent but there is still a chance because they are generous and they know a sincere and useful post when they see one, also move this topic to Beginners board.
3240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto regulation, a topic of discussion in G-7 meeting on: December 08, 2020, 02:21:43 AM
^ This is what I am afraid of, that if the government will implement such regulations forcefully then crypto enthusiasts will only have two option either become a law-abiding citizen by following to all the government regulations which have to be implemented but the ideology of decentralization and anonymity will be at stake or being free from any law but living as a delinquent in the eye of the majority. The G-7 has a great influence on the global economy and most of the other countries would just follow if the members of G-7 would start implementing such rules in crypto trading. To answer OP's question, it is not so far that it will happen for the government will never let its citizens be free from the government's eye and lose control over their finances.
Is there something wrong with being a law abiding citizen? If the government wants to put a regulation, can you do something about it? If the answer is no, then I think that we shouldn't care that much, although they will be creating this policies to further increase their power, I do not think that they will go full tyrannical on crypto enthusiasts, they will still put some citizens interests in mind because there is still election and it takes only one politician that supports a more lax regulation to topple the person in power. The idea of decentralization only gets vaguer as more companies and cronies chip in to exploit the technology. I do not support government putting regulations on crypto but what can I do as an individual, even if the whole crypto community comes together it will not be enough because we are not yet mainstream. The best thing that can happen is a leader or group of lawmakers that will fight for the individual rights of every crypto enthusiasts and by far it is impossible because of lobbying and bribes from companies and institutions.
