I have been away basically away from the forum since my last monthly post on WO merits.
Quick mission, 24 hours, on the land where they drive on the wrong side of the road.

Saw a guy with an hat with the same symbol used in xhomer10 hats (what symbol is it btw?) on his hats.
Briefly checked VB1001 website, but didn’t recognise it.

I wanted to find that hat, but I couldn’t find a bigger version of the image on the top right corner...

VB1001: you should add a picture with all the hat on your wohats.com, ideally clicking on a certain hat would take you to the decimated page.

Now I am 15 pages behind...
Time to catch up, as I already emptied my sMerits allowance I have more time...

 Is this what you saw?

Hey - looooong time lurker ..... longer time holder. Think this may be my first time posting.

Long time interested in earning interest. To date, all methods of doing that just seemed like a good way to lose whatever coin I elected to lend.

However, been looking at blockfi lately.

Anyone have any experience with it?

I do not.  But I think it is worth considering the track records of trusted third parties holding the keys to "your" bitcoin, and how that makes it effectively their bitcoin, and exposes you to all the counterparty risk that brings with it.

BlockFi may be a perfectly good organization, as were/are some organizations this list (which is not complete):

Do you know what happens on the eleventh and 12th year? I could only find for the 1-10 year cycle.

Assuming it is a cycle, repeat 1 to 10 for the 20 year cycle?

https://www.quora.com/What-is-W-D-Gann-time-cycle-its-application-in-stock-market

Yeah. After ten years, it does it a-Gann. Hence the name.

I like this chico guy.

yeah, he distracts you with the 'just did a huge bong hit' manner and then drops bombs like a fuckin' B17 yo

I was also distracted by his new homeless look.

An earlier glimpse of mic's hats.

^^

WHICH one gotta wear tomorrow ?

Somewhere I made a post about eating my hat if blahblah happened with a picture of a cake hat. This no doubt precedes Hairy's attempts.
No doubt whatsoever.

Anyway I take it all back none of that matters, it was just so cool of xhomerx10 to design that genesis hat. What were you thinking, comrade?

 What was I thinking?

I was working my 3rd x 12 hour night shift in a row.  I went for coffee early in the morning, checked in on the WO thread and saw a bit of excitement brewing so I checked the charts and got a little excited myself when I saw the big green dildo (noHomo)

WTF is happening?  Anybody know the reason for the big green dildo?

Yes, my hairdresser bought Some BTC’s this morning  Tongue

 Then I saw this post

SEV UHN GRAND!

 SEV UHN GRAND!

 SEV UHN GRAND!

 WHOOOO'S WITH MEEEEEEE?

Which got me even more excited... and even though I HATE trying to post anything in the WO with my phone, I managed to find an image, and post it with absolutely no modifications at all and micgoossens called me out on it -

Edit: trying to post from my phone... sorry no proper image tools

Good good .... Then for once you can’t outperform all the rest Grin

Even though I knew he was joking, I felt the need to do something extraordinary to redeem myself once I returned home from work.   Later on that morning...

Lol apparently BfX has said deposits / withdrawals resume tomorrow.  Unconfirmed rumor.  It’s not on their Twitter.

have you ever eaten a hat?

Well that depends.  What sort of hat?

your own. full of doomy predictions and other rubbish

Lol apparently BfX has said deposits / withdrawals resume tomorrow.  Unconfirmed rumor.  It’s not on their Twitter.

have you ever eaten a hat?

Free Hat!

~snip
There ain't no such thing as a free hat. This will end doomily. Wait for it.

Then it hit me: about a month earlier, micgoossens had posted a bear and a bull hat (and also a fuckin' squirrel hat) so with all the hat talk and Mr MicG's penchant for hats, I knew I had to do something with a hat.  I searched for hats with a "G" on them and found them at Goorin Bros but I was still at work.  I was worried it might be a stale joke by the time I got home and was able to make something.
I got home around 8am and began searching for the hat I was going to use.  My plan was to make a hat for HairyMaclairy to "eat" and I see this post:

maybe Kucoin has their own vested intenrest in feeding the tether fud.

Precisely.  It's all whale games.

Give this man a new hat.

The hat theme persists!  I need to hurry.
Then MicG makes another hat post

Give this man a new hat.

 wich one, i got a few hat's.

This hat idea was obviously meant to be.  I had found the hat to use and was looking for a larger sized image of a monkey tossing darts.

Where did you get the hats Mic?

Where did you get the hats Mic?

Bought them in Mallorca and barca....

BUT ONLINE

https://store.goorin.com/mens-hats/featured/top-sellers

Goorin brothers hats .....

I was glad to see the hat theme being refreshed since it would make my post seem relevant even though it came many hours after the fact.  I intended to reply to a different post (ie HairyMaclairy's "What sort of hat?" post) but I was really tired and this one presented itself.  It wasn't until later that I realised it was Hairy saying "Give this man a new hat." so it didn't actually seem like I had given it to Hairy but it was his avatar...

 I'm home Wink

The "I'm home Wink" was meant for MicG - he knew it and I felt that I had redeemed myself and had also demonstrated that there was such a thing as a free hat.  Then I went for a much needed sleep.
Later that evening while reading through the thread, I saw this...

Volume is still looking nice.

People seem confused and disorientated. Like they just got hit on the head with a hammer, while wearing a hat, before eating it. Roll Eyes

...and immediately thought, "Rosewater needs a hat!"

While I was making it, he posted this:

Something is wrong with the mayor. seems confused. too much herb?

He's fine. He's right where I left him. Wrapped in plastic.

Now, can we please stay on topic.

 I'm trying to think!

Which was my segue for posting his hat. (I said it was a thinking cap)
I made one the same night for JJG because he made me LOL with his shitposting cat gif saying "Get out of my way V8!" (what the hell, it's already a huge post)

  jjg-

Get out of my way, V8!!!!!!

The thought of the hat as an avatar hadn't even crossed my mind but I saw JJG posted this:

jjg-

Get out of my way, V8!!!!!!

That cat made me laugh; you get a hat too!

Almost makes me feel like changing my avatar...

and a bit later, Rosewater posted this:

You need to be fast if you wanna beat a V8 to a post ....

Pft. All salience, no hat.

I believe Rosewater had resized the hat to fit the avatar dimensions and was the first one to use it as an avatar.  There was a bit more banter about the hats between V8, Rosewater and Hairy and then micgoossens posted this:

  ^
  The hats are F***ing beautyfull

Nice work xhomerx ...... very Nice  Wink

At that point I could not stop.  The hat avatars were well received, I got a lot of support (especially from micgoossens who kept track of who needed a hat) and praise and I really enjoyed making them - I still do! - it's a lot of fun.  Sometimes searching for larger versions of avatars led me down some really strange paths but your secrets are safe with me... mainly due to my Alzheimer's.   I cannot believe VB1001 created the wohats.com site for us.  That's the icing on the Wall Observer cake.

Feed me cheap coins. Waiting for sub $7,000 & then I’m going to make a whale move & buy another 0.1BTC.

This is not fine

Meh, not remotely worried. Show me sub $5,000 before I start to panic. Even then I’d spend 5 figures (GBP) on a load more coins.

Shit I just looked up what LINK is and it makes no sense to me at all. Not saying it's intentionally scammy, but they will end up taking people's bitcoins. I dunno what I was thinking really. All (bar perhaps GRIN) these altcoins don't stand up, and I don't even want to dabble in them now I look at it seriously.
I am sorry, y'all can negrate me if you like, but I am withdrawing my commitment to contribute here.

I knew you'd come to your senses Smiley
3252  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to post Bitcoin related art? (in particular, cartoons) on: December 10, 2019, 12:54:36 PM
<...>
I’ve seen the post published in Bitcoin Discussion, and I think that the question is not so much which is the appropriate board, but rather more if the art/chart is being used as a proxy to advertise.

As per the rules:
<…> 24. Advertisements (including signatures within the post area) in posts aren't allowed unless the post is in a thread you started and is really substantial and useful.[9][e] <…>
Thar rule is derived from a post from @theymos on the matter: Ads in posts.

Anyone want to chip in?

I felt the same when I viewed the "cartoon"; it's definitely an advertisement.  We were misled by ChartInsights line of questioning.
3253  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to post Bitcoin related art? (in particular, cartoons) on: December 09, 2019, 05:41:53 PM
As per subject. I found another thread with the same subject, but I could not find a suggestion there related to Bitcointalk.

Can one post it, for example, on the "Bitcoin Discussion" board? Or would it be deleted because off-topic?

It would be nice if there was a special section for this...

Thanks,
Ben

It's nice of you to ask first but why assume your post will be deleted?  Many posts are simply moved to the appropriate sections by moderators.  If you post an off-topic response in someone else's thread, that's a problem and it likely would be deleted because there is no proper section.

If the cartoon is about Bitcoin and strictly for entertainment, put it in Bitcoin Discussion.  It should be fine there.

Steelers had it easy today - they played the Cards.   Hard not too look good but they tried anyway Embarrassed

Beer example.....mehhh. It must be late night for you JJG so i can understand that,  Will wait for another example   Tongue

Long time ago I held 70 beer for a friend. I worried about losing those beer for an entire week.  Never again!

I understand you got rich friends.. but never follow their habits when spending.

When I held them they were worth less than $100 each.  Which was still a lot of money for me to come up with if I lost them.  No, there are no rich friends in my Rolodex; those Bitcoin were sold many moons ago for much, much less than the moon for... reasons.

Quick question: I'm doing some side mining with a rebuilt S9 I got for nothing. Checked the stats page and it says foundblocks=1.

Did this thing solve a block? Sure I'm at Slush, so I get zilch, but if so that would be an unusual thing....

Well slush found a block about 4 hours ago.  Is that the time frame?  Congratulations!

Toxic2040 has also not been online for a long time (30 September 2019), I hope everything is fine.

Also unresponsive to sidechannel comms.

I miss him, but I'm not actually terribly worried about his safety; he could be moody at times, I'm hoping he just had it up to here with us for now.

Speaking of which, I'm dropping carrier for a bit of network refit here, hope to be back on in a couple hours.

He was feeling burned out on Bitcoin, TA, and the WO. I'm sure we all know the feeling. I think he'll be back.

 We'll be watching for him.

That book was due to be released in May. But since there was a major disagreement with the book company, we ended up changing to a new publisher and so the book was released in august instead.

Furthermore I only travel with permission from my school and my parents pay for tickets and accommodations.
