I am not new here. I was banned some days ago after having 4 merits before I opened this account.
~
I saw it as a way to start another account again with no plagiarism.

Once banned you are not allowed to create a new account.  You as a person are banned from using the forum.  Any new account you create will be banned due to ban evasion, which is against the rules.  You can still read the forum, but you are no longer allowed to post here.

Now that you have your answer, you should lock this thread.
3242  Other / Meta / Re: My account got a permanent ban. on: March 03, 2020, 03:38:54 PM
Well, you were sort of begging for merit, but I don't recall any one getting banned for that before.  I looked through all the threads you created (before they got deleted,) and found most of your posts to be spammy, but I don't know that they were spammy enough to warrant a ban.  You created another topic in Meta stating how you like to create threads because of their potential to earn merit.

I didn't look through your posts for plagiarism, but now that I think about it there certainly might have been some plagiarism in those posts of yours.

Did you have another account banned on this forum before?
3243  Economy / Gambling discussion / ⚽⚽ North American Soccer Discussion Thread - CONCACAF - MLS - Liga MX - CFU ⚽⚽ on: March 02, 2020, 11:48:29 PM
The USA's most prestigious soccer league, Major League Soccer (MLS) has kicked off the 2020 season this past weekend, and it's already off to a great start.  The league is growing, and starting to attract some highly talented players.  It's the fastest growing sports league in the US right now, and already boasts the third highest attendance in all of American sports, second only to the NFL an MLB.

There are two new teams to join the league this year; Nashville and Miami.  Two more will join next year, and two more in 2022 to combine for a total of 30 teams, split up into two regional conferences.

The last couple of years I've enjoyed watching one of the newer teams; Los Angeles FC, which has been playing pretty darn good football considering their recent arrival.  Last year they won the conference title with a record number of points.  Unlike European leagues, the MLS has a knockout championship called the MLS Cup which recognizes the winner as the league champion.  The playoffs schedule the 7 top clubs from each of the two conferences for three rounds of playoffs.  The finalists from the two conferences play each other for the league title.  Last year LAFC lost the conference final to Seattle, who went on to win the MLS Cup.

I watched some of the games this past weekend, and found them to be quite entertaining.

Feel free to use this thread to discuss anything pertaining to North and Central American soccer competitions, including all the CONCACAF competitions, MLS, La Liga Mexico, Canadian Soccer Association, the Central American, and the Caribbean championships.

Self moderated thread rules: No Spam.
3244  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2020 Democrats on: March 02, 2020, 10:45:09 PM
Wait, what? You voted in Democratic primary? Smiley

How absurd!  You know that's not what I meant.

I will admit that I've spent most of my life registered as a Democrat (holding my nose in recent decades) specifically so I can vote against the most rabid anti-2A candidates in my (our?) state.  However, that's obviously proven to be a losing strategy.

I've never been particularly drawn to the Republican party for various reasons.  Even though I tend to lean towards historically conservative values, I have never been able to reconcile with the Republicans' positions on social liberties (i.e. reproductive rights, homosexual rights...)

Then came Gavin Newsom, who single-handedly convinced me to register as a Republican for the first time in my life.

So I voted for Trump.  Trying to right my wrong from 2016.  Grin

I think it was John Adams who said it first, but this quote seems to summarize my political adventure:
Quote
If a person is not a liberal when he is twenty, he has no heart; if he is not a conservative when he is forty, he has no head.

IIRC I was a conservative before I hit thirty, so I don't know what that says about heart to head ratio.  I attribute it to having three daughters, it's as good of an excuse as any.
3245  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2020 Democrats on: March 02, 2020, 09:09:27 PM
Tomorrow is already Super Tuesday, and all these candidates who've dropped out yesterday and today will still have their names on the ballot.  Then there are all the absentee ballots that were cast weeks ago (like mine.)  What happens to the votes that are cast for candidates that have dropped out?

3246  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Server Question want to make it "private" on: March 01, 2020, 06:36:18 PM
White listing is simple if you are only connecting from 1 place but for mobile it's going to be impossible.

I don't know if you use a VPN, but my service allows me a dedicated IP address.  You could white list that address, and always use vpn to connect from your phone.
3247  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos and April fools, 2020 preempt on: March 01, 2020, 03:06:38 PM
Theymos could create a new trust system where users with 10 earned merit or more get to vote for DT1 members.
That's bound to stir up some drama.
3248  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: OpenDime or Hardware Wallet? on: February 29, 2020, 07:52:35 PM
there is no way to apply a password or PIN.

To be fair, it looks like you can enable a pin:

Quote
**What if somebody scans my Card and transfers the funds from it?**

Not to worry - nobody will be able to transfer funds from your Card just by scanning it. Although checking the funds takes seconds, transferring them requires you to hold the Card against your phone for 15-30 seconds.

This is a security measure, its duration is configurable and it can be overridden by enabling a PIN-code on the Card (available on demand).
emphasis mine

It looks like you have to order the card with that option enabled, they say they say it's available on demand.  That seems like feature that should come as a default setting, and would be enabled or disabled using the app.

Otherwise, it takes holding the card against your phone for about 30 seconds or so.  It seems like someone could walk around in a crowd with the Tangem app running and scan people's pockets or purses for cards.  Once one is found, he could linger close enough to the card to extract the funds.
3249  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: February 29, 2020, 07:41:28 PM
So man gains for Watford today, and a great streak comes to an end for LFC!  What an awesome game, so unpredictable.  LFC looked out of focus, not the team they've been so far this season. They looked completely spent.

Watford looked hungry for a win, and took it.  They, like West Ham last week played like they have nothing to lose, and just had an amazing game.  Congrats to the Hornets, and sportsbet.io.

Bitcointalk user mocacinno set up a private Electrum server for forum users only.  He white-listed the IP addresses of those who asked for access.  I don't know how he did it, but he may be willing to share the information.

Well, just imagine Brady would indeed go to the 49ers - would you like it or not ?

Yes and no.  From a practical side, we already have a quarterback that's essentially a developing clone of Brady.  Both are the quintessential pocket passers, but one is far younger and likely has more years left to play.

On the other hand, I would like nothing more than to see the GOAT in a 49er's uniform.  Imagine if Shanahan was coaching Brady under center this past Superbowl, would his play calling have been so conservative?  I think both would have inspired the other to take a few more chances, and so it goes.  If it were to happen (which I believe is highly unlikely) I would think of it as couple of years while developing a promising draft pick.  But that strategy is risky, and I don't think Lynch or Shanahan want to go down that road.

~NFL Scouting Combine.~

Damn, that's a hard-core NFL fan there.

I missed last weekends XFL games, but will have a look today again, lol. Looks like bookmakers have adjusted their o/u lines already with both todays game having low-ish lines around 39. Will take the over for the Wildcats@Guardians game and if it wins, the over for the Dragons@BattleHawks game afterwards. At some point the players should be more in sync and points should rain (wishful thinking here).

I've playing the games while I do other stuff around the house, but I have to say they can be pretty entertaining.  There are some decent players in the league, it's almost like watching a college game.  Anything can happen at any time, and turn the game around.  So far I'm impressed with the XFL.
3252  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ree @hacker1001101001 ICO bump account on: February 29, 2020, 04:38:49 AM
So if someone attempts to enroll one account, gets rejected, then attempts to enroll another account - that calls for negative trust? Assuming the campaign doesn't allow alt accounts.
Most likely, yes. This is very deceptive behavior. The person behind the account is being rejected, not his imaginary identities nor tens nor hundreds of identities. If one, despite the rejection, tries to infiltrate the service provider again with another mask then they are actively trying to get around the rejection - thus deception, thus untrustworthy. Does this make sense? This is from my perspective as an (ex) campaign manager not as a DT member.

There's nothing deceptive about his campaign applications.  He never attempted to enroll both accounts at the same time, and hasn't tried to enroll a second since being accepted with one.  Regardless of the campaign rule's ambiguity, he never broke the rule because he never had two accounts enrolled.  So, sorry to disagree with you Luada, but that's not justification for the red trust or a flag.  Realistically, it's a non-issue.

But what really has me curious is this:

I gave you another chance here:

Lauda even after my multiple apologies to her
It does not work like that. You can apologize a million times to me, it does not matter. I do not need nor want your apologies. You can not expect forgiveness when you are involved in absolute bullshit like TECSHARE's Guild of Stupidity, send me apologies - yet seize every single opportunity to disagree with me (even when the disagreeing side has an opinion that is worse than the anti-vax club), seize every opportunity to to sneak in something bad about me or about people who share my views or support my flags. This is not remorse, this is not being sorry, this is worse - active deception under pretenses of being remorseful.

You claim to be giving Hacker another chance, but I don't see any chances being offered in this thread, and certainly not in the quote of yourself that you provided.  In fact that quote only highlights what's wrong with this whole thread; i.e. that hacker disagrees with you and saddled up with the latest posse of folks who disagree with you.  None of that is justification for tags and flags.

So far, I don't see where he's broken any rules, or tried to scam anyone.  His behavior maybe tactless, and crude, but that's not a crime.  Please stop all the pointless tags and flags based on opinions and disagreements.  They have no place in the trust system.

3253  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: OpenDime or Hardware Wallet? on: February 29, 2020, 02:45:48 AM
The Tangem card seems legit, but to be honest, I'm not seeing the allure.  I don't necessarily see it as alternative to the Open Dime, other than off-chain hand off.  It seems like it's marketed more as "mobile hardware wallet" that can also be used for off-chain transactions.  So, if you buy one for the NFC to phone function, you should ask yourself; are your funds any more secure than a hot wallet in a mobile app?  I don't think so, quite the contrary, in fact.  They specify in their faqs that unlike a hardware or mobile wallet, if the card is lost, so are the funds.  And therefor, you shouldn't keep a lot of bitcoin on the card.  Well, I don't leave a lot of cash in physical wallet, and I don't keep much bitcoin in my hot wallet.

But, if I lose my phone or it gets stolen, I can brick it as soon as I can find another phone to use.  I have a very strong PIN set on my mobile wallet, and it's different from the strong PIN set to get into my phone.  If I'm able to brick the phone in time, and I don't lose the funds in my hot wallet I'll be able to recover them.  No BTC lost, just the phone itself.

With the Tengem card you need to have your phone available, and you need to have the card available.  If you lose your phone then your card is useless, and if you lose your card your bitcoin is gone.  If you're like me, you probably also lost your cash, because your card was in your leather wallet and you lost the whole god damn thing.  So, you're left with no funds, and phone that can't send bitcoin.  In other words if you lose one or the other, you're fucked.  However, if I lose my wallet I still have my bitcoin I can spend.  If I lose my phone, I probably still have cash or credit cards in my pocket. As long as I don't lose both, I'm not fucked.
3254  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to send a transaction at a specific time? on: February 29, 2020, 01:24:15 AM
I've thought about the OP's issue in the past and decided it's not a good idea.  If you want software to be able to do that, then it needs to be running all the time, or somehow communicate the transaction to the server to which you are connected.  That might pose security/privacy risks.

As for @FatFork''s suggestion, I think a script would have to be specific to broadcasting the transaction only.  I don't think writing a script that signs the transaction would be a good idea, again security risks.  This also would require the software to be running.  I wouldn't want to keep my Electrum running on an unattended computer, and that's seems to be the whole point of scheduling an automated transaction.

I would like to pay them a salary in Bitcoin using electrum and the function: send later.

You can sign and then save the transaction, and just broadcast it later.  You can also export the transaction after signing it, and have an employee broadcast it at some later time using an empty wallet.

To sign a transaction and save it for broadcasting you build the transaction, with multiple outputs if you like, but don't click "send."  Instead, click the "preview" button.  On the popup page, you'll be able to sign the transaction, and then save or export it.  If you save it, the transaction will be listed on your history page, but it won't be broadcast until you do so manually.

If you export the transaction, it'll be saved as a .txn file, which can be opened in Electrum at a later date.  You don't have to be logged into the same wallet from which the coins are being sent.  You can have a trusted employee import and broadcast the transaction at some designated time, using a completely different, empty wallet.
3255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 27, 2020, 08:31:27 PM
@DireWolfM14. The MLB also added 2 teams for the post season wild card rounds. I reckon american sports revenues might be going down hehehe. I like the decision, however.

I'm not a big fan of watching paint dry baseball, so I don't follow the MLB, that's news to me.  I've been to several Giants' games, and at least one A's game in my time.  Going to the ballpark to watch a game is a lot of fun, but other than that I can't seem to get into it.

To speak to your other point; I know the NFL has been losing viewership in the US for a couple of years now.  I'm sure it was a shock to the NFL, which seemed to enjoy nothing but growth for decades, regardless of what they did to fuck it up.  I'm not exactly sure what factors are contributing, but some speculate it was partially due to Kaepernick and his protest antics.  The league didn't want to alienate anyone so they just ignored the whole thing, hoping it would go away.  It caused many to regard the league office as being anit-American, and anti Law Enforcement.  Not the best way to gain popularity with their target demographic.

There are more and more reports speculating about Rivers being a Colt next season. Looks like they are done with Brissett, who only has a two year contract, and want to move on. I read about some connections from Colts coaching staff to Rivers (his former QB coach and some other guy that used to be with the Chargers iirc).
Rivers would have an above average O-Line to work with, so that is a plus, but not sure if it/he will be enough to get the Colts out of mediocrity. The AFC South used to be the worst division in the NFL for a long time, but it has gotten way better, even without having a top tier team (I don't think the Texans are top tier). Wide open division.

I think that would be a great fit for both the team and Rivers.  The Colts have a long history of picking smart quarterbacks who can be a coach while lining up under center.

This report says Brady will enter free agency, but I am still not sold on that. Would be very weird to see him in another uniform and I think deep down inside he wants to stay in New England no matter what and retire a lifelong Patriot.

I think you're absolutely right about that.  I agree that Tom Brady would like nothing more than to retire on a Sunday in early February while wearing a Pats uniform.  Alternately, Brady has never shied away from expressing his life-long love for the 49ers.  He's a bay area native, grew up a Niner's fan, and his family are still, to this day, steadfast Niner's fans.  True faithful.  I always thought that if Brady left NE the most appealing place for him to land would be SF.  I don't think that's in the cards, barring some strange turn of events, it's very unlikely to happen.
3256  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.8, add exchanges source on: February 27, 2020, 07:26:25 PM
I've noticed that the number selections decreases if you select the check-boxes to show historic value and capitol gains.  I assume it's due to only a few of the sources having the capability to provide that information.  Try deselecting those options and check if the other sources you expected to see are made available.

So I guess we have to thank CH and "friends" for inoculating us against that.

Are you suggesting that TOAA was actually the vaccine for the cryptohunter virus, and not a mutation?

The people disagree:

50% of the forum can't be wrong.

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what's for dinner.

This is an example of trolling or what?

No, it was an accusation.  But since you didn't deny that it's your alt, I'm retracting my accusations.  If it was your alt, you would have found some slithery, non-committal, half-assed way of denying it, sort of.

3259  Other / Meta / Re: Scrap the trolling rule? on: February 27, 2020, 03:50:59 PM
This post:

in 5 years you have done nothing.  you have not added a single line of code to a single crypto project, and have not worked for a single blockchain startup
you remind me of zepher, did actually NOTHING for BTC, and like zepher, 6 months after your dead, people will forget all about you
oh, you worked for rollin.io, so you helped degenerates waste their money, woot?   all you HAVE done is extract $$$ for your own means from this scene, congrats?

LOL maybe in the next 5 years you will actually contribute to the technology that brings us all here....

Seemed like a good test for the trolling rule:

3. No trolling.

So I reported it as "100% trolling". It was marked as bad. Granted I could have added more info as to why I think it's trolling (attack on the OP, attack on a deceased forum member, false statements - 100% inflammatory content).

Is it trolling? If not - why? If yes - do posts like that have a chance of being removed (with a better report comment perhaps) or should we not bother?

It appears that you are unable to understand the trolling rule here guaratees such a post is protected as accurate and valuable.

The promulgation of false and clearly debunked information as true.

Since his post is true.  Then why scrap the rule that defines this as clearly not trolling

Are you trolling suchmoon?

What I'm wondering is why you didn't just post it from your truth or dare account?  What are you afraid of?
3260  Other / Meta / Re: Scrap the trolling rule? on: February 27, 2020, 03:30:34 PM
Is it trolling? If not - why? If yes - do posts like that have a chance of being removed (with a better report comment perhaps) or should we not bother?

It is obviously trolling, but it's also free speech.  I've never been particularly affected by trolls, I tend to ignore them for the most part.  I doubt LoyceV was hurt by it, he seems like he's got a thick skin, and knows how to shrug off the haters.  I don't know that I would have deleted that post myself (if I was a mod.)

I prefer free speech over enthusiastic moderation of trolling.  One man's troll and another man's...  I don't know what's the opposite of troll?  Rebel?  Protester?  Wise-cracker?  Whatever.  I voted for the first option; remove the rule.  It's fairly apparent that it isn't enforced anyway.  Just look at how long CH/TOAA has been trolling...  And still doing so.

I understand why you reported the post, though.  A fake newbie attacking LoyceV is more humorous than anything else.  What a fucking coward.  If you want to be critical of another member, find a way of expressing yourself without diving into attacks on the persons character.  And don't stoop so low as to attack the dead, without any legitimate reason to do so.  That whole part of the post was off-topic as well, so it's a gray area.  Still, it is dick-move, but that's no reason to delete it.

Slightly off topic; who's the moderator for the Meta board?

ETA:  OP is not stupid, and I'm sure that his offspring (suchmoonlets?) are adorable.
