I don't know why many comments are so rude in this thread, if you aren't going to be of help whey even bother to reply in the first place? There is actually a way to turn off GPU LEDs I've tried this on a 3070 ti using hive OS, the menu looks like this This method does not work with all video cards, this is the main problem. On some graphics cards in the farm, the backlight will work, so miners have to use Double-sided, marker or insulating tape.

The way I understand it is that after the merge ETH will be PoS. It seems that this would happened sometime this year. It is totally your decision but is it wise to invest in ETH PoW miners at this point? Perhaps it is better to invest in miners that will be PoW for some time to come? My experience with PoW miners is that it is not really profitable unless you buy something with significant higher hash rate. Having said that, many people will probably want to offload their ETH PoW miners at this point and you may get a very cheap price and perhaps make a few bucks still.
I think it's very important to buy a GPU or ASIC at the right time. If we talk about bitcoin, many mining companies are building their data cents with new equipment, and it takes a long time for video cards to pay off on ethereum mining. Now you can only invest in mining if the electricity is free or the price is very very low.

I will challenge you to find a card than runs cooler than Rx 6800 XT from Amd,it runs at 32-37 degrees Celsius with fan at 70% and find me now an Nvidia which does that with the same power settings,Nvidia run cooler only when you have put down to a great extent the power settings.
Both cards and both brands are good for mining, find the one suitable most to you and keep on mining.
5600 xt running at 38-40 degrees Celsius and fan 40-50%. But I don't think it's very important, because my old video cards have a core temperature of 55-65 degrees Celsius, and have been working for 5 years. I would turn your fan down to 50% to increase lifespan.

Thank you,I checked the motherboard to see where the f*ck that Sata 3 6 Gbps was and couldn't spot it,so I have to check again and I guess I saved about 75 EUR off the Nvme which I wanted to buy.I read a lot of people saying in forums and the manual that use the extra 4 pin connectors to provide more stability to your graphic cards but I intend to run 2 Corsair HX 1000 Gold PSU-s which I guess I don't need to do that, these PSU-s are far more than enough for my new setup of 2 x Rx 6800 XT,1 x Rx 5700 XT,1 x RTX 3060 ti,1 x RTX 2060 12 GB (will get it after 5 days when it comes) and 1 x GTX 1080 ti.
I'm sorry I was inattentive. You newbies sometimes do things that I would never have thought of. If I wanted to repeat your experience, I would use HiveOS. If you want to use Windows, then it is better to use the 2019 versions with a patch that disables all updates.

Hello everyone a few days ago my Gainward rtx 3070ti just turned off and didn't turn on, i contacted official Gainward website and they told me to approach to one of the distributors. i contacted the distributor at first he asked for purchase invoce and after that not willing to answer, also official website doesn't answer me either any idea how do i use warranty service?
Where is your distributor located? If not far, then you should take the video card to him personally. If far away, then you need to send a letter with a claim, which you can then use in court as evidence. I don't know your country and your laws, so you'd better find out on your local miner forums.

82C degress is to hot for an 1050ti, i have one without a fan an it is running at 65C while it mining. Change the thermal paste will help.
It happens that the temperature sensor shows incorrect values. Maybe the heatsink of the cooling system is not tightly attached to the chip. If the miner is not a stupid person, then he will check this first of all. Some video cards that have been mining for 4-5 years sometimes have such problems.

Depending on the GPU manufacture and the way the fan shroud is set up. You might be able to just disconnect the connector to the LED lights.
I forgot which brand it was but I traced the LED cables and they went into a harness which was seperate from the fans, so I just disconnected it and the LED were off permanently. So check your GPU first and you might be able to get away this way. Usually there are screws holding the shroud to the heatsink and its easy to take off. Don't need to remove entire heatsink assembly and void warranty.
Really wish that there was a switch that was added to the PCB to manually turn off those lights. Also save like 1 Watt in consumption.
This is not possible on most video cards without disassembly. The more expensive the card, the more LEDs it has. In Windows, this problem is solved by installing programs from the manufacturer, which allows you to turn off the LED, but in Linux, the standard utility does not always work. Double-sided 3M does not fall off for several years.

I had one Biostar TB 250 motherboard fail on me and I got and bought the above motherboard Asrock which I paid like 250 EUR because I was enticed by that riserless proposal from them.I forgot that they need a LGA 1200 CPU which I am going to buy tomorrow but they also from what I saw didn't supported normal SSD but only a M2 one which adds to the expenses,I read the manual and it said do this and do that and don't do that and a lot of warnings.
Anyone here has experience with this board to write me with simple points 1,2,3 what to do when first installing it? It would be really helpful to me to not screw like 500 EUR I will spend in total for my craziness of choosing this motherboard.
https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=865It says that the motherboard works with Intel LGA 1151 processors and the motherboard has 6 x SATA III Connector and 1 x M.2 (M Key) 32Gb/s Connector, support M.2. What is the name of the motherboard?

ETH+TON still popular? Not much discussion about it My 3070s (23pcs) worked the first full 24h. - Other rigs still mining only ETH 60-61Mhs for ETH 1-1.1Ghs for TON - so far 6.5 TON mined Is above reasonable? It depends on the cost of electricity. Your NVIDIA RTX 3070 graphics card can mine 60.40 Mh/s+1.5 Gh/s, but you need to increase the core frequency and power limit. Now many miners have turned on the Dual mode, so the profit is falling.

8 GPUs 4X 3070 Non-LHR 3X 5700xt 1X 3080 Non-LHR Together they make 507MH/s It makes me $20.05 per day and $601.49 per month. Power cost per day is $4.76 and a total of $142.70 per month this is ETH mining
How long have you been mining? Have you paid off your investment in your equipment or not yet? You have a good profit now, but if Ethereum mining stops in Q2 2022, then at your cost of electricity, you may have a loss. Therefore, you spend 1/6 of the profit on paying for electricity

oh my mistake. Bitmain L3+ around 500 MH/S. This is what i'm looking at on ebay The going rate seems to be $1200. Is that a good price in the current LTC market? Also what should i be looking for when i buy used ones ?
https://whattomine.com/asichttps://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-l3-504mhI see very low profit from this ASIC and buying it now for $1000 is a very bad investment. Moreover, you will not have a guarantee for this equipment.

I have been mining BTC for a while now but only on AMD cards (small timer). I recently saw a friend start mining with pretty much the same electric/hashrate efficiency on average (comparable cards) but his cards are all Nvidia and run like 5-6 degrees cooler for the same hash power. Is this normal? Or am I doing something wrong?
Tell us what video cards you have and we will give you advice. Each graphics card manufacturer has different models with different cooling systems. If you buy the cheapest video card, then you probably have a worse cooling system. But this is not important, because closed cases can be used.

Yeah I had this issue in the past but it wasn’t with risers it was with Bitcoin ASICs and they were worse because they weren’t permanent solid like a riser LED they blinked consistently. I had them in my room and at night they drove me nuts.
Basically you can try tape but it will fly off due to the heat. So if that doesn’t work and you don’t want to desolder them one by one then use a black permanent marker. You will still see it somewhat but won’t be as bright as before.
Yea, I've put electrical tape on electronics before (wait, what!?) and yea, it just peals off after some time. Never thought of using a permanent marker, ill give that a try now. I have older 003 raisers and they don't have LEDs. But I have problems with video cards, because in Hive OS, backlighting is not turned off for all video cards. Some video cards glow like сhristmas trees. I used Double-sided 3M. It's very reliable.

My wife sometimes complains about 1 mining farm, because the fans are noisy, so the rest of the mining farm is in a different place. What motivation problems do you have if mining farms do not create problems? I believe that the price of cryptocurrency will rise, so I try to keep my mining farms always working. How can you get tired of a printer that prints money?
Agree. Should not be tired. However fear that 25 cents per GPU would be coming soon makes me sometime sad. 25 cents is still a good profit If you have been mining since 2018, then you have already paid for your equipment several times over. I am sure that the best time for mining will be when the profit is minimal, because you will receive more coins, the price of which can then increase.

Hey guys,
I mine ETH on the ethermine pool. Usually I get about 0,3-0.32 ETH per month. This value doesn‘t fluctuate a lot.
Today it shows 0.54 ETH per month outcome.
Why is that? Does this mean my miner found a block and I got a special reward?
I would rather watch the daily stats because they are more accurate. Gas price today: 60-70 GWEI, so no big profit is expected. But on the other hand, I would do payback calculations based on a profit of 0.3-0.32 ETH per month.

Do you really think that this is the best and easiest profit? I think that mining gives 2-3 times more profit. But if you are a good specialist and can make a node and update it yourself, then why do you need advice from miners? After all, the price of a coin can not only grow but also fall.

I was a newbie in 2018. I started Early 2018 and slowly built my rigs in next 2 years. I just have 4 rigs that I could keep in a room in an apartment. It was exciting first couple of years but now I am getting tired of them. They are working fine though. How do you keep yourself motivated?
4 rigs is a lot for an apartment if you live in it with your family. The only option is a separate room, with good sound insulation. On the balcony, noise from 4 rigs can disturb your neighbors and they will swear at you or shed complaints. It is better to install a mining farm in a private house, but not in living quarters. For example, in the basement, garage or other utility rooms. it is in a separate room that is normally never used unless a guest arrives and we normally shutdown when someone is living. The rigs don't really make much noise.
