3241  Other / Meta / Re: Diablo labels thread in off-topic "inappropriate" for the forum - high five! on: January 15, 2012, 12:56:02 AM
I'm going to move it back to Pools, because I don't see any other threads like this one there.  I also don't see a whole lot of trolling in the thread.

For what it's worth, agreed on both points.  Don't see why it should be removed or moved.  Not having it would just cause more off topic posts.
3242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Well guys. The rally is over. on: January 13, 2012, 09:51:40 PM
I doubt that. It would take a lot to get to 2 again. It would have to crash to low levels several times to wipe out the ones who would still be buying, before it takes out enough resistance to drop that far.
3243  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: January 13, 2012, 09:41:41 PM
For a 6 month period the price hanging around a particular range for a period of time was a precursor to a serious drop to the next price point. So I can see why people might be getting nervous. I wouldn't be surprised by a drop to ~5 though in the coming week. Hopefully after that it would resume this latest uptrend. The price got too high too fast and now it's paying the price.

Or the BIG PLAYERS will finally show up and make us all gazillionaires.
3244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vending machine on: January 13, 2012, 09:13:50 PM
Bitcoin vending machine is less "interesting" to criminals (although likely will draw interest from hackers) because no cash.

Might be giving guys who break into vending machines too much credit  Wink
3245  Other / Meta / Re: Diablo labels thread in off-topic "inappropriate" for the forum - high five! on: January 13, 2012, 09:06:55 PM
He definitely can't moderate the thread as it's in Off-Topic, I had assumed he moved it there from somewhere in the mining section.

He did, it was definitely Pools (maybe mining)this morning.
3246  Economy / Speculation / Re: Oh noes !! It's crashing !! Sell ! Sell ! on: January 13, 2012, 01:06:40 PM
What is exciting in such a lame parody?  And what is new in this kind of caricature after the first 3 attempts?

I was being sarcastic  Wink

3247  Economy / Speculation / Re: Oh noes !! It's crashing !! Sell ! Sell ! on: January 13, 2012, 12:45:16 PM
This is a new and exciting thread.
3248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help - Sent bitcoins to wrong address on: January 12, 2012, 04:18:01 PM
Well, you need your original wallet.dat for that address, did you not back it up before formatting? You can still recover the wallet if you haven't installed anything on that hard drive. If you installed an operating system back on that hard drive it's likely gone (overwrites), and so is any chance of getting the coins back.

Next time backup your wallet to something regularly. I back mine up to my parity protected file server, and also a usb drive.

I'll also move this to tech support you'll get better answers there.
3249  Other / Meta / Re: Delete my account on: January 12, 2012, 01:20:52 PM
Not being able to be reused is what I meant by locking it out. And if they want their account deleted I don't see why they would care if someone else wants to use the name, and if they don't care I don't see why anyone else would.
3250  Other / Meta / Re: Delete my account on: January 12, 2012, 12:36:41 PM
If the account is deleted, yes they would be.

Sorry, I need a bit of time to recuperate... is that confirmed info?
Is there a reason for not doing server-side account management the right way?
This sounds so 1995 it's not even funny.

Why should a username stay locked out if someone wants their account deleted?
3251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Push Bitcoin for the rich and elite? on: January 11, 2012, 01:32:02 PM
A marketing genius who's gonna be broke after spending millions on depreciating items then cutting out 99% of the market.

Going the wrong direction with this I think. Bitcoin has always been more of the 99% currency, not the other way around.  On the other hand, nobody says we can't try for both.
3252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN booth at CES Las Vegas! Tell all reporters! on: January 11, 2012, 01:29:51 PM
What I have learned from this thread: Your booth model is hawt  Grin

booth model? My understanding is that she's a stakeholder/principal in bit-pay.
Smart people attracted to bitcoin come in all shapes, sizes, genders and sexualities it seems - what a relief, for a while there I thought it was only for socially inept geeks.
No idea why I thought that Roll Eyes

It's kind of funny that the very next post is someone comparing her to a badly drawn video game character.
3253  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Need guidance on selling on: January 10, 2012, 03:17:34 PM
How many hits a day do you get?
3254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Plz livestream The Good Wife on: January 09, 2012, 02:42:49 PM
But the benefit of livestreaming is that we can all watch it together when it's showing Cheesy

http://tv.blinkx.com/show/the-good-wife/vEJlaMTfy_36eiwd

There are some screwed up morals and ethics in this show. It's a show glamorising corporate robots. In S03E12, they got a husband to sleep with a stripper to win a divorce settlement and take custody of his daughter. To limit anyone finding out, they scrub their documents of this info.

Great. That is seriously unethical and immoral. I hope we don't see the same thing with bitcoin where following the law like a corporate robot but behaving unethically is seen as good. I hope it becomes about flouting the law for greater good.

That doesn't bode well.
3255  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Daily Speculation Poll] :: Price Correction over... Now what? on: January 09, 2012, 01:27:05 PM
Bid side is dropping like crazy, ghost lines everywhere.

3257  Economy / Speculation / Re: 6.5 the new stable price ? asterisk at 6.53 on: January 09, 2012, 01:13:49 PM
Yes it's been a whole five minutes, I'm sure everything will be fine now!  Don't Buy!
3258  Economy / Speculation / Re: Damn Mariarti on: January 09, 2012, 01:05:50 PM
Double bottom and a double top, that sounds like a fun night.
3259  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2012 according to the Mayan calendar on: January 09, 2012, 07:29:29 AM
I don't think nothing will happen.

That's a double negative, which means you think something will happen?
3260  Other / Meta / Re: Concerns about Diablo and censorship on: January 09, 2012, 07:28:34 AM
Edit: I now see you are "staff" and not a "mod". I guess i should not respond to you then as this might be off topic. You should reread the thread and find out what was going on before you start telling us how to act.

I can see why Maged thought you were trolling, if this is how you converse with people  Wink
