3261  Economy / Reputation / Re: [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source on: May 16, 2019, 03:57:07 PM
Am I really going to have to set a rule saying that Newbies can't link their own post on their first day at the forum, especially if their post is all about sMerits?

You don't necessarily need to change the rules, just be careful when you see newbies recommending good posts, chances are they are trying to take advantage of your thread.

I had a second look at Hackers-97, his post which received a merit today is also a copy of Coin-Desk (post deleted now). What's interesting, both replies were merited by the same guy - Juggy777. Not sure if it's a coincidence or something else. If I find more, I will post in the appropriate thread, don't want to further spam/off-topic here.  Tongue

~snip~

Someone is trying really hard with those fake announcement threads. I think they are now resorting to using bots. Most of the topic-starters from this week are newbie accounts that woked up on April 27th/28th. They just copy existing projects threads and sneak links to malware wallets. This has been happening for over a month now.

This week in numbers: today - 15 fake ANNs, yesterday - 10, this past monday - 18.  Shocked

edit; 12/13 ANNs added just now, that means close to 30 in a single day. ATH Cheesy

Blockchain Technology
Description : optional
Category : Technical answer
Section : Beginners & Help

Before anyone gives this guy any merits, I'm pretty sure he is an alt of alcoholboy and Coin-Desk and this post is a copy-paste/self copy-paste or whatever.

Blockchain Technology is a sophisticated networking system. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies transaction is done through Blockchain technology. Those using Blockchain technology are all connected to each other. Using this technology, money can be sent without a third party. In this technology, money can be sent from person to person. Using Blockchain technology is very little expensive to deal with money.

Suppose you will send money to your friend so that you do not have to take any help from the bank. You just send money to your friend's wallet address. Then all the information related to this money will be in a block. Then this block will be distributed among all miners. The miner will count them and confirm the transaction. After confirming your friend will get the money. That’s how Blockchain Technology works. Hope to understand.

Best regards
Hackers-97

3264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: May 16, 2019, 11:10:24 AM
What a game he's having! He's on a career playoffs best already with 29 points so far, too bad I didn't go with his over 8.5 option, It would have been a hit for me.

Lopez killed it in the second half and played even better then giannis.

Lopez stat lines:  Shocked

GM5 vs. Celtics 0pts / 0rebs / 5 fouls / 18mins

GM1 vs. Raptors 29pts / 11rebs / 4blk / 4/11 3pts / 35mins

I was expecting him to have a good game/series, but I didn't anticipate this - a career playoff high in points. I knew Raptors primarily objective would be to stop Giannis and Middleton (that's exactly what happened), hence more open shots for Lopez and Mirotic.

When you hit your first 3pt after 10 straight misses  Cheesy One more to go...pretty please!

@Harkorede too bad for your pick, Raptors look rather sharp tonight and Bucks slightly out of rhythm...
3266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: May 15, 2019, 11:17:16 PM
I'm poised to make a bet after being idle for a few days. I'm going with Lopez Over 1.5 3pt  @ 1.90.

Yes, I remember what happened the last time I bet on him to make 2 threes -> 0/7 and 5 fouls within 3 quarters, it can't get any worse than that, right?  Grin

@Harkorede Cloudbet under "Specials"

5 fouls seems an achievable one

What I meant is that he was in foul trouble, and didn't get his usual minutes. He got his 5th foul early in  the 3rd and stayed on the bench for the most part.
He only played 18min because of that.

edit1; Lopez first two 3pt attempts - hard brick and an airball.  Cheesy Things not looking too good right now

3268  Other / Meta / Re: My BItcointalk Account Was Hacked By Award Coin Project Beware on: May 15, 2019, 06:02:03 PM
BUMP!

I don't know if you are aware but last week there were two very similar cases where someone manages to temporarily access an account from which a fake announcement thread is created...leading to malware wallets:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5141275.msg51004133#msg51004133
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5141746

On May 10/11th there were 7-8 such topics released, and I believe all these people have compromised accounts. I also think these are not isolated cases either. With theymos' help, we found that both bbvedf and Mrengage profiles were temporarily accessed from very suspicious IPs around the time these topics were created. I know that IP logs are not 100% proof of anything but still. All IPs that have had access to their profiles have been repeatedly reported for abuse...scanning ports, unauthorized connection attempts, etc.

Honestly, I see a repeating pattern here which makes feel a bit uneasy, to say the least. How are 6-7 accounts not related to each other being compromised like that? People behind these accounts judging by their post history are from various places - Nigeria, Spain, Italy, Indonesia.. etc. Roll Eyes

I was wondering why Randall Jenkins' Shutterstock toothbrush photo looked so familiar. lol

this (below) is confusing/doesnt make any sense.

It is difficult to say which industry is in need of blockchain, Seafood or Hair extensions/Wigs haha

Whoever is behind the website and whitepaper made sure it's difficult for people to search for text/plagiarism as they've used a ton of homographs.

3270  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: OMNIS-BIT (website contains mining malware) on: May 15, 2019, 01:31:17 PM
Damn, I checked their website with VirusTotal yesterday, there was this small warning. I didn't open their website, just the twitter account.

Glad I didn't, look what rescan.pro found:

Why isn't their ANN closed already, there were so many bumping bots?

3271  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: May 15, 2019, 10:40:06 AM
Probably a typo but hey Grin there might be an open slut!

I won't be making any bets on that series as I'm supporting Portland, but the disrespect Blazers are getting here and on a few other forums is somewhat worrying. I wish they can prove yall wrong. Tongue I expect series to be tied after the first two games.

They might have a bot to post all these threads. Take a look at my recent tags vs. newbie accounts who woke on April 28th.

If that's true, I won't be able to keep up with all these fake threads, the Night King has won. Grin
3275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: May 13, 2019, 10:06:18 PM
Are there any bookies that offer bets for tomorrow draft lottery? Can't find any...

Who do you think wins the lottery/Zion? The top 4 teams that can land the number one pick are Suns, Cavs, Knicks and Bulls.

I would hate to see Zion in Cleveland, yikes!!!!

I don't want to edit my previous post the 4th time, so I'll post my new findings here:

It's pretty much a game of cat and mouse at this point:

With the exception of ChanceBetCoin and Tampa Bay Token all other ANN seems to be fake. There are all posted within the last hour or so and have a link to the same GitHub (which is created also an hour ago).

I don't want to start a new thread for every fake ANN with malicious wallets so I will be making a MEGA thread by the end of the week. Will list every single one of them in chronological order and update it daily. In my estimation, there are +30 already (all created in the past 30 days).

I get it you are basically doing your job to get scammers. Which is a good thing to know but right here sir I didn't make that post and this ACC was hacked I don't logout my account from my browser. But was surprised when I opened my browser what I saw was BITCOINTALK HOME PAGE. AND THE ACCOUNT WAS LOGOUT

I've sent theymos a PM about your case and bbvedf. If I get a confirmation from him that there was indeed an unusual activity surrounding your account (as in login from different IPs / devices), I will remove my negative tag, until then there is nothing much you can do. We have to wait.  Smiley
3279  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM - Ulord(UT) FAKE ANN and FAKE Wallet to Spread Malware. on: May 11, 2019, 10:29:32 PM
You think you are a smart?
You deleted the topic and then came here claiming you never announced it.

On the screenshot your name is clearly there on the Fake Ann.

I'm not trying to defend him but there is another user who earlier today reported that he was temporarily hacked: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5141746

I was due to send theymos a msg tomorrow and see if there is indeed unusual activity (as in different IP logs) around both accounts.
3280  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM - Ulord(UT) FAKE ANN and FAKE Wallet to Spread Malware. on: May 11, 2019, 10:12:28 PM
Good job but why giving me a red trust when I haven't took part in any thing of GitHub viruses on the system.

You posted ANN thread for Ulord and links to fake GitHub with infected wallets.

I believe this is the thread, which is now deleted: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5141572.0

Does anyone have it archived somewhere?
