How can you receive a merit if you're post are one lines maxing up to two lines. Don't expect any member of this forum to give you any merit if you will not improve your posts. If you want someone to give you a merit, put some thoughts into your posts. You don't need to be that knowledgeable about crypto currencies, just make a post that will make people think that you are worthy to be given a merit. |

A lot of members here in the forum don't really speak English well but they do know a lot when they speak their own language. I do not know if this will be good, does having a local Merit Source will be able to help this members?
Yes it will be prone to abusing the merit system so I think Mods of that certain board can help to monitor that source and some members can also report that source if they are doing it wrong, well, it's just a suggestion on behalf of those people that know something but can't really speak themselves that well.

My experience also says that getting merit in meta section is way easier. To get merit in sections like bitcoin discussion, you have to post an exceptional thread and then do something to get that post noticed.
You can get merit on any threads that you are posting, it's just that threads like Bitcoin Discussion and Economics are full of spammers that they don't really read the posts of the members there. Most of the people that is getting their merit is because they are being sarcastic and have a lot of friends to help them while just some of them are really knowledgeable and contributing in this forum. |

Nope, Walang kinalaman nag English vocabulary sa pagkakaroon ng merit (para sa'kin) Theymos or other moderators made the merit system in order to avoid users to spread spams in order for the user to rank up they're required to meet the number of merit.
But that will be a problem since if you will be posting outside the local board and you can't speak English that good since you are not that good, members will not be giving you merits and will just advice you to learn more than to post more. You will be seeing this kind of posts in the Merit Section. If you're English is not that good, communicating and sharing your ideas to other members of the forum outside of this local board will be hard, that will be also hard for you to earn some merits. |

Yes, there is a lot of members that are trying to improve their posts by spending time and exerting effort into it. Spammers and shitposters may not be reduced that easily so we just need to wait for a longer time. During review ng mga post, karamihan sa mga nakakarecieved ng merit points ay iyon mga taong naggawa ng rules and regulation. Kaya karamihan sa mga nakakuha ng merit points ay iyon mga DT's or manager ng campaign.

Yes, there are members who received merit with that kind of posts but most of them are already nuked by the mods. If you spot some posts like that, kindly post it in the Meta thread, that member might be abusing the system. Ako gusto ko din magexcel at doon sa mga taong need din tulong Im willing to support you, but make sure na iyon ipopost ninyo ay mayroon din magandang quality. Kahit di masyado maganda quality ng posts basta nagegets ko ang points ninyo willing ako magbigay sa inyo ng tulong.
If you want to help some of them you can apply to be a source Merit. That way you can spread more Merit to posts that is worthy of it though they are not accepting local board posts in their requirement. |

You are not trying your children about crypto currency or bitcoin. You are teaching your student to earn bitcoin.
Games and or video games will not be cut for children to know about bitcoin, teaching and earning is a different things and you are teaching your child wrong.
If you want your children about bitcoin, start buying him books and start him to watch videos about Bitcoin.

I can not find the answer to the most probably common question. Are smerits regenerated? I was very generous and distributed more than half of the merits, but how can I resume the number of smerits? for what merit are they renewed?
sMerits are not replenished unless you are a merit source. If you will be wondering how will you get another sMerit to give then you must make posts that is worthy of merit, for every 2 merits you receive you will be getting 1 smerit. For members that is the only way you can get merit but if you want more, you can always apply for becoming a merit source. |

It seems that you are saying that the Merit system is not working and there are still a lot of spammers or shitposters that is in the forum.
I don't think that the new system will have an effect immediately, the new system is still in months and I don't think that you will be seeing that effect soon. If this continues, theymos said that he will eliminate signatures and other ways of earning of money in this forum.

You are wrong. Spammers and account farmers will leave first because they can not or hardly ever rank up with merit system. Those users simply join the forum to get money/ Bitcoin. Then rest users of the forum will stay here to learn, to discuss, to contribute to the forum discussion, help each other; not mainly or only for getting money anymore. I think you are misunderstanding my post, and yeah I constructed it wrong. Government can't kill bitcoin because they didn't know who was the owner of this. They just can ban this site but users will make a way to use bitcoin.
They know or might not know who is the owner of bitcoin but the fact is no one is owning bitcoin, bitcoin is being used by people and no one is controlling nor owning them. There is no way that they will "kill" bitcoin even if they ban it since they will only be banning bitcoin in their country unable to use bitcoin in their country but the people there can still use bitcoin online. |

i just think the merit will lead the forum to a decline, its very simple since new member is hard or impossible to get a rank rise, and there will no new people paricipating in the future, the forum member will be less and less, then new projects will not come here to post ANN, so its vicious circle

And where do these negativity comes from? Is this the function of Merit? No! Merit is for the best of the forum and not for the worst of the members. This is great and even before this chart is posted, I've been thinking that Local Boards should be really the boards that got the most given merit since the members using their own language can create good and constructive posts rather than pushing themselves outside that board where they can't really contribute. But I am wrong.
Never thought that the economy section will get the highest max merit given since I never thought that people are reading the posts of the members there.

It is great, hope a lot of members will be seeing this video though there are some parts that I am quite confused and I think some members will also be confused when they see that part. I also notice the resolution of the video, I think it needs to be better.
In the part where you show the sMerit, I think it is better if you first explain what a sMerit is before using it in the video. You immediately use a word without any explanations about it. That part is quite confusing.
Since most of the members here are not really good in making an innovation, I think posting quality post is enough.
In the don'ts part, the last one is a bit confusing. I think you are saying trading of merit to other accounts and not trade your account.
This is just my comment as a viewer of your video. It is great. Hope it helps a lot of members.

In my opinion, thanks to the Internet you can get theoretical knowledge almost in every sphere. And even become a professional unless the chosen sphere requires some specific practice. For example, for becoming a health care worker. But if you want to be a developer or translator, all you need is self-discipline and high motivation.
This is the good thing in our new world, you don't really need school since there is an internet, you don't need to have a class room since you have your own PC and you do not need to have a teacher since you have a lot of sites to visit with a lot of MOOCs (massively online open course). Maybe the problem here is the certificate since in our country, you still need the certificate to apply to better jobs. |

In general, it's a great system. And I think it is helpful not just now but also in the future.
There are a lot of people who are complaining about the new system but they are not seeing the importance of it in the future. I do know that spammers will still be spammers and yeah, they will still be paid but I think they will also be finding that staying in a single rank for the rest of their time here in the forum will be kind of boring so they will find a way to work on their merits to rank up. In the meantime, let's just accept the system and wait for the results in the future to kick in. |

I know signature campagns exists on this forum for very log time . I was wondering , do they really help to promote ICO , i know they spend a lot of money to pay bitcointalk members to wear their singatures and make posts . Do they really make profit out of this ?
I doubt that ICOs will ever start a bounty campaign if that way of advertising don't work. It helps the pre-sale by attracting more investors. And you don't need to question them since at the end of the line, you will still get paid unless that project is a scam. |

Yes, it makes our lives better but makes makes us die younger. With smart devices and machines makes our duties and word comfortable, faster and easier but because of these we forget exercise or exert effort that needs our body. These gadgets and machines makes us unhealthy, and we are prone to disease.
From the best things that these technologies gave us, the side effect is really bad. And it is really ironic if you will be thinking of it since the function of technologies is to make our life efficient and comfortable but these gadgets and machines have something that if we are always close to it, our body became more weaker and vulnerable to diseases |
