That's the spirit. I remember the faucet payments from the old days and what they were worth a few years later.

How much were faucets paying back then?

Man I got like a whole Bitcoin

Don't let these trolls trick you into selling your coins

Using tor is easy, just get vidalia

Can someone post proxy command line for cgminer

And possibly make vidalia listen network wide

Can't believe the website still recommends us to go to that vircurex scam to exchange your merge mined altcoins.

Better than mint pal or mcxnow
3288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin blockchain data torrent on: October 27, 2014, 10:08:07 AM

I've been seeding the new torrent for 2 months now on a well connected server and have a seed ratio of 548. That's about 12 TB uploaded by one server in 2 months. I'm wondering if this is all due to people setting up full nodes, or if something else is happening here.

If you are a long term seeder are you getting similar results?

Armory likes to use it

Thanks left feedback

Literally just used bitpop's escrow service for a quick gift card purchase from another member here. Process was seamless and he was responsive. Would recommend.

Thank you
3292  Economy / Services / BitPop Free Escrow Service (small transaction fee required) on: October 24, 2014, 06:33:39 AM
I provide a free escrow service. My fee is currently 0% but a transaction fee of 0.001 is required (sent to me, in addition to the miner's fee not sent to me, non refundable). Tips are accepted. Don't let the other party tell you I changed the address, use the one I issued. Beware of accounts impersonating me, always verify the PGP signed address! Even if you are buying something directly from me, I will still conduct a proper escrow, meaning a PGP singed address and the coins won't move until you accept delivery.

3293  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: October 23, 2014, 10:58:23 AM
Thanks GoatPig, so what do you reckon?

Is it really necessary to run TOR with Armory or I'm being too paranoid?

If you want to run a node and/or broadcast transactions without revealing your IP, you should use TOR. If your concern is not be victim of theft, stop using online wallets and enforce proper cold storage pratices. TOR doesn't add to your coins security, that's cold storage.

Looks like tor is worse

That was rude

You can't automatically import your wallet. Armory doesn't prevent anything. It doesn't touch your wallet. Try moving your Bitcoin wallet to another computer and start fresh
3296  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: October 20, 2014, 10:25:28 PM
Hi there,

I'm running the lasts versions of bitcoin-qt and Armory

I want to run Armory through TOR but how can I do it? I know this matter has ben already explained before, but I can't find the pages.

I see that the new version includes an option for TOR.

And second questions, is it secure?

I've had bad experiences with blockchain + TOR and coinbase + TOR losing small amounts with both wallets.

I've read that visiting clearnet sites with TOR isn't a good idea, that's why I ask if Armory + TOR is secure.

I store 90% of my BTC in a cold wallet in Armory, and I don't want to lose them...

Any help would be much appreciated, as I said, I store all the funds in Armory and I'm quite paranoid about security.

Best regards

I'm putting the message again just for more visibility...

I dont think armory tor helps.. Your transactions will still send through bitcoind

Look into torrifying bitcoin
3297  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: October 20, 2014, 08:51:13 PM
Armory does not take over your Bitcoin wallet, they always stay separately you can't even import your coins until you send to yourself manually

Good info. Now you alluded to armory having something in its source code that was recently fixed. What was it?
